And there is the final whistle! Granada have earned a shock 1-0 win against Real Madrid!
90' +2
We are deep into added time at Los Carmenes and it is still 1-0 to the home side...
90' +1
Iriney Santos enters the game and replaces Nolito.
Nolito - a former Barcelona youth team player - will be delighted with his contribution tonight, as he provided the corner from which Ronaldo headed into his own net.
90'
Another change for Granada, off goes Nolito and on comes Iriney for the final few seconds of this match.
89'
Lopez rushes from his line to meet the ball ahead of Ighalo, but his high clearance fails to find a team-mate and is controlled superbly by Granada's left-back Siquiera.
88'
Alonso has looked out of sorts for Madrid this evening, he has misplaced passes he would normally land on a euro coin and has also been guilty of some ill-timed tackles in midfield. Just two minutes remain for Madrid to grab a late equaliser...
87'
Juanma Ortiz enters the game and replaces G. Torje.
86'
Granada are making another change to use up some seconds late on as they continue to defend their 1-0 lead here. The impressive Torje is going off to be replaced by Juanma Ortiz.
84'
HOW HAS BENZEMA MISSED THAT?? The Frenchman misses the target from 10 yards with a torrid sidefooted shot after some penetrative play from Callejon. Benzema should definitely have made it 1-1 there.
83'
The Argentina international is up on his feet now though and looks okay to play the final minutes of this match.
Minute
Description
82'
Di Maria has gone down after a challenge from the Granada sub and fellow countryman Buonanotte, and the left winger looks in a fair amount of pain following that collision.
80'
Marcelo gets yellow.
Marcelo is the latest Madrid player to find his way into the referee's book after crashing into a tackle with Torje. That was an ugly challenge from the Brazilian and it deserved the yellow card he was shown.
79'
The Croat's second corner fails to beat the first Granada defender though and the ball is forced upfield away from Tono's goal.
78'
Modric's corner is headed over by Granada's Nyom, which means the visitors have another chance from a set piece.
77'
That is a wayward shot from Di Maria, and I'm being kind when I say that... Time is running out for Madrid to salvage something from this match, but they do have a corner now from which to try and test Tono.
75'
D. Buonanotte enters the game and replaces Carlos Aranda.
On comes Diego Buonanotte for Granada to make his debut following his deadline day move from Malaga! The Argentine scored a delightful goal against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey earlier this season, fingers crossed he produces a similar piece of magic in the final 15 minutes of this game.
73'
A colleague of mine on Twitter, @jamiedurent, has just sent me a lovely pun: '[Ronaldo] has scored at the ron end you could say...' Top punnery, I'm a fan of that.
71'
Ronaldo angles a shot at goal from 20 yards but Tono deals with it easily low to his right. Mourinho does not look happy down on the touchline, he has every right to expect more from his side. Just four days ago they were brilliant against Barcelona!
70'
STAT: Madrid have had 72% of possession in this match, but the only stat that matters at the moment is the score: Granada 1-0 Madrid.
69'
Ronaldo and Nyom square up to one another after the Granada right-back blocks the Madrid forward as he tries to break down the left, but after some minor handbags the two shake hands and get on with things.
68'
The Madrid midfielder handles the ball for the second time this evening, just moments after being shown a yellow card for a foul on Rico. Luckily for the former Tottenham man the referee does not deem the handball a second bookable offence, otherwise he would have been heading for the changing rooms.
67'
Modric might be off here...
65'
L. Modrić gets yellow.
Marcelo enters the game and replaces Fábio Coentrão.
It looks like Marcelo is going to be Madrid's final change. They certainly need a spark from somewhere, perhaps it will come from the left boot of their talented Brazilian full-back.
63'
STAT: Real Madrid have won just one of their last five away games in all competitions (W1, D2, L2).
61'
AND NOW THEY DO TEST TONO!! Ronaldo bursts forward with the ball at his feet before firing a low driven effort towards the bottom left corner. It is fairly simple stuff for Tono though, as he falls onto the ball to stop it bouncing into the net.
59'
Benzema nods an effort wide from 10 yards after connecting with Ronaldo's cross from the left, as Madrid continue to fail to test Tono in the Granada goal.
57'
Madrid have made two changes already but Mourinho appears to be considering making his third and final substitution down on the touchline - Marcelo is warming up for los Blancos.
56'
Xabi Alonso gets yellow.
55'
O. Ighalo gets yellow.
Ighalo and Alonso have just found their way into the referee's notebook after a clash just outside the Madrid penalty area. That booking is Alonso's ninth of the season, he is now just one away from another suspension.
54'
Guillherme Siquiera races into the Madrid box for Alcaraz's side but he is stopped in his tracks by a poked tackle from Di Maria.
53'
The crowd tonight have just been told over the tannoy to stop insulting Madrid's goalkeeper Diego Lopez! I have not heard that one before!
51'
Thank you for the top Twitter chat from you lot tonight by the way. @chidexta's prediction of a 2-1 Granada win remains possible, and if it does happen he should certainly get in touch with @Rebirthzz who has just promised a bottle of wine should that result occur!
49'
Madrid's Varane has just executed another really impressive slide tackle on Ighalo. I think we are witnessing a player who is going to become one of the best in Europe if I'm honest. What a talent he is!
48'
I imagine either Modric will drop back and partner Alonso in Madrid's double pivote now OR they will switch to a 4-1-4-1 formation with Alonso playing a lone defensive midfield role and Modric remaining further forward in midfield alongside Ronaldo, Di Maria and Callejon.
47'
Mourinho made two changes during the interval and they suggest attacking intent - Karim Benzema and Jose Callejon have come on for Khedira and Higuain.
46'
José Callejón enters the game and replaces S. Khedira.
K. Benzema enters the game and replaces G. Higuaín.
Madrid kick off the second half...
45' +1
And there is the half-time whistle, Granada lead Real Madrid 1-0!
45'
That is NOT a good cross from Arbeloa. The Madrid full-back gets to the byline but his delivery towards Higuain is woeful and lands in the stands rather than on the head of his team-mate.
44'
Madrid try and instil a bit of urgency in the final third as we edge closer to half-time, but their eventual cross is plucked from the air by Granada's goalkeeper, Tono.
42'
Aranda is furious that Madrid are given a throw-in over on the right as he tried to to dribble the ball down the line, but the replay shows that the ball clearly crossed the line, despite the Granada forward's vociferous complaints.
40'
Rico lunges in on Khedira on the edge of the Madrid box and the visiting side have been awarded a free kick by the referee. Both players really hurled themselves into that tackle, the free kick could have been given either way!
38'
A good tackle from Coentrao on Nyom results in a corner for Granada. Could they go 2-0 up before half-time??
36'
Madrid are looking short of ideas in attack at the moment. I expect Mourinho might just make changes at the break if they are still behind.
35'
That effort is even less effective than his previous one though, the ball smashing into the Granada wall and bouncing away from danger.
34'
Íñigo López gets yellow.
Ronaldo has another chance to make amends for his error as he lines up another free kick from a fair way out.
33'
I wonder if Marca - the Spanish paper that calculate the Pichichi award for the top Liga goalscorer each season - might just tack that own goal onto the Portuguese forward's tally for this campaign...
31'
Modric is penalised for using his arm to control the ball inside the Granada penalty area, which prompts some angry gestures from the little Croat as he thought he was being fouled and should have had a penalty!
29'
The virtuoso attacker's strike flies past Tono's right-hand post though, and the score remains 1-0 to Granada.
28'
Free kick to Madrid 40 yards out. A chance for redemption for Ronaldo perhaps...
27'
Higuain has a chance to make it 1-1 but his effort that goes off target would not have counted even if it had found the back of the net - as the linesman on the far side had raised his flag to say the Argentine was offside.
25'
What a superb corner it was from Nolito to force that error from Ronaldo that gave Granada the lead. The midfielder on loan from Benfica has made an immediate impact for the home side!
23'
I'll tell you who - @chidexta, the Twitter user I mentioned earlier who is predicting a 2-1 Granada win!
22'
Cristiano Ronaldo is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
RONALDO HAS SCORED... AT THE WRONG END! GRANADA LEAD 1-0! The Madrid attacker glances a Granada corner into his own net under pressure from Rico to put the hosts ahead! Who would have thought it?!
21'
THAT IS BRILLIANT FROM ARBELOA!! The Madrid full-back saves a certain goal by hacking the ball behind for a corner as Nolito lurked behind him just eight yards from goal.
19'
FINE CHALLENGE FROM VARANE! The Frenchman picks up where he left off at the Bernabeu on Wednesday by timing a tackle on Ighalo to perfection in the right-back position.
18'
Madrid have another corner after some positive forward play from Khedira and Modric. The former of the two was tackled just as he shaped to shoot by Granada's Lopez and the ball ballooned behind Tono's goal.
17'
STAT: Granada have won just two of their last eight Liga matches (W2, D3, L3).
15'
SLOPPY FROM ALONSO!! The normally pinpoint Madrid midfielder puts his own goalkeeper in a spot of bother with a poor backpass but fortunately for the former Liverpool player Lopez is able to slide and stop the ball from going out for a corner to Granada.
14'
MAINZ HEADS OVER! The Granada centre-back is not the 'mainz man' on this occasion as his header rockets high over Lopez's crossbar.
13'
Gabriel Torje does brilliantly to get a corner for Granada after dribbling at Coentrao on the right. Can the home side take a surprise lead here?
12'
Naughty from Ronaldo! The Madrid star is reprimanded by the referee after grappling with Recio while attempting to get on the end of a corner from the right. He was never going to get away with that!
11'
Fabio Coentrao goes bombing down the left-hand side to try and keep Luka Modric's slide-pass in play in the corner but after initially succeeding in doing so it then dribbles over the line and out for a goal kick.
9'
Granada's Guillherme Siqueira tries to thread a ball towards the former Madrid academy player Carlos Aranda but Alvaro Arbeloa reads the play with ease and steps across the striker to intercept the ball.
8'
I have got to admit it's been a fairly tepid start to this game! Let's hope me saying that will prompt an immediate goal for either side. That does usually happen to me...
6'
Madrid are awarded a corner on the right after some decent play from Ronaldo, however they fail to make the most of it as Mikel Rico confidently heads the ball clear.
5'
Over on Twitter @chidexta thinks we may be about to witness an upset tonight! He's predicting a 2-1 win to the home side and thinks the on-loan Udinese striker Odion Ighalo will bag one of those goals. We will see!
4'
Granada have a chance to hurl a cross into Madrid's penalty area after winning a free kick out on the left, but Inigo Lopez's set piece is overhit and flies out of play for a goal kick to los Merengues.
2'
Raphael Varane continues at centre-back for Madrid tonight in the absence of the injured Pepe. The performance the Frenchman produced against Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday was one of the best defensive displays I have seen this season. Mourinho has got a real gem on his hands there.
1'
We are off here, Granada get the ball rolling...
Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of this evening's Liga clash at the Nuevo Carmenes that pits Granada against the reigning league champions Real Madrid.
My name is Charlie Scott and I'm the lucky devil who has been given the task of providing you with colourful updates from the game as it unfolds in Granada. Should you wish to get in touch at any point in proceedings this evening then fire your views or questions over to me on Twitter at @charliefscott.
Granada meanwhile are adapting to life under new coach Lucas Alcaraz after he was handed the job following the sacking of his predecessor Juan Antionio Anquela on Wednesday. The Andalusian side are struggling at present in La Liga having picked up just 20 points from 21 games so far this campaign.
Real Madrid are hoping to continue their fine start to 2013 and while doing so close the gap between themselves and their second-placed cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid to just a single point, with Diego Simeone's team set to face Real Betis tomorrow evening.
That is more than enough rambling from me for the time being, so why don't you whet your appetites for this evening's match by having a look at the starting XI for each side...
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Lopez; Arbeloa, Ramos, Varane, Coentrao; Alonso, Khedira; Di Maria, Modric, Ronaldo; Higuain
As a few of you eagle-eyed readers may have guessed, the main talking points in those starting XIs is the return of the previously suspended trio of Coentrao, Ramos and Di Maria for Madrid, and the inclusion of Ronaldo following rumours he may miss out because of an ankle injury.
HALF-TIME: GRANADA 1-0 REAL MADRID The home side stormed into a surprise first-half lead in Andalucia in the 22nd minute when Cristiano Ronaldo of all people headed into his own net from a Nolito corner. Madrid have failed to threaten in the final third and Mourinho may well make a couple of changes either at half-time or not long after the interval.
Perhaps Madrid are running on empty a bit having put in such a colossal effort against Barcelona to draw 1-1 at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. They certainly look a shadow of that team tonight. And AGAIN they have conceded from a corner, the eighth time they have done so this season.
FINAL WHISTLE: GRANADA 1-0 REAL MADRID A first-half own goal from Cristiano Ronaldo handed Granada all three points against Jose Mourinho's side this evening, as los Blancos slipped to a surprise defeat - their fifth in the league this season. Granada's returning coach Lucas Alcaraz will be thrilled with his club's first win over Madrid in 39 years.
Madrid remain four points off second-placed Atletico Madrid following this defeat, and Diego Simeone's side have a chance to extend that gap to seven when they face Betis tomorrow evening.
That's all from me for tonight guys and girls - I hope you enjoyed the commentary and the game! Good night.
