RED CARD! Lichtsteiner has sold it well, and the referee gives the Sampdoria substitute his marching orders right at the end of the game!
89'
S. Giovinco enters the game and replaces M. Vučinić.
86'
Hardly a vintage Juventus match, but a gritty display that looks set to yield three points. A hallmark of many of the games from their unbeaten 2011-12 Serie A season.
84'
Time slipping away from the home side now. They need to get bodies forward and hope the conditions work in their favor one time.
83'
P. Castellini enters the game and replaces G. Berardi.

Minute
Description
78'
Pirlo's corner is asking far too much of Pogba at the far post, who cannot bring it under control.
76'
De SIlvestri's low cross is missed by Vidal on the stretch, and Barzagli can only hack it ungainly back towards his own goal, but the still-grounded Vidal blocks the ball!
74'
What a hit by Obiang , who flashes agonizingly wide of Buffon's far post! No one was stopping that if it was on target!
72'
S. Mustafi enters the game and replaces D. Gastaldello.
R. Soriano enters the game and replaces M. Eramo.
Changes afoot for the hosts it seems.
70'
Lichtsteiner climbs highest to get his head onto a searching ball into the box, but guides it harmlessly wide of the far post. The flag appeared to be up anyway.
68'
De Silvestri's dug-out cross is pushed away by Buffon at his near post, before Eramo shanks the follow up tamely into the keeper's arms.
66'
Asamoah tries to play in Vucinic after he himself was supplied by Pogba, but he cannot steer the pass on target.
64'
A. Vidal gets yellow.
And they nearly do just that, as Costa pokes the ball home from a free-kick, but it's chalked off as he was about half a foot offside.
62'
The hosts are still in this game, make no mistake about that. One mistake, very likely on this slippery surface, and they can find a breakthrough of their own.
60'
D. Gastaldello gets yellow.
Gastaldello fouls Pogba, and is booked. Another Sampdoria yellow card.
58'
C. Tevez has scored a goal for Juventus! Assist by P. Pogba.
SCRATCH THAT, JUVE LEAD WITH A SLICK MOVE!
A lovely passage of play from the Serie A champs, as Vidal one-touches the ball into Pogba's path on the inside left, who in turn squares for Tevez to pop home a goal on his debut! Sampdoria carved apart!
56'
The match continues to lack momentum. Both teams are fighting hard for every board, but the quality is lacking.
54'
De Silvestri calls for the ball and Costa endeavors to pick him out, but not for the first tie, the pass is some way off its intended recipient.
52'
And Pirlo delivers the free-kick...well off target. Recurring theme tonight.
51'
M. Eramo gets yellow.
50'
Eramo booked for a foul on Pirlo, and Juve have a decent free kick chance here to get the ball into the box.
48'
Gabbiadini is brought down by Chiellini for a free kick to Sampdoria. Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini has been spotted in the stands.
46'
Back again folks!
45' +1
46:00 and not a second later, the referee ends it for now.
45'
Into the first and only minute of added time of a dreadful half of football.
44'
And again the Swiss fullback fails to beat the first man with his cross. Play resets.
42'
This is an incredibly frustrating match, Lichtsteiner overlaps on the right and has space to cross and numbers in the box, but cannot beat Palombo at the near post.
40'
Whistles now raining down from the stands after a series of no calls go against Sampdoria. Even the crowd getting testy now.
38'
Nice acrobatics from referee Luca Banti, who does the splits midair to let the ball run through his legs.
36'
But Pirlo cannot make it count and the chance fades.
34'
Pogba is pulled back after first appearing to have beat his man. Set piece chance for Juve.
32'
The set pieces have been poor all game long. Sampdoria waste another dead ball chance by pinging the ball into the first defender.

28'
The match has definitely lost any semblance of rhythm as a series of niggling fouls stagnate matters on the pitch.
26'
Even Pirlo's passing has been off, the veteran pings another long ball forward that skids forward on the turn and is back in the possession of Da Costa.
24'
Almighty scramble inside the Sampdoria box between both sets of players, but Gastaldello just manages to hack clear.
22'
First sign of a combination between Tevez and Vucinic, with the latter feeding the former with a low pass, and the Argentine testing Da Costa at his near post.
20'
Asamoah throws himself at a delivery into the box bu just fails to steer his header into the back of the net thanks to Da Costa again. Brave attempt by the Ghanaian.
18'
Eder and Chiellini square up, its all getting a bit testy down there. The players are making a lot of mistakes due to the weather, and it's put them in a bad mood.
16'
Conte looks nonplussed on the sidelines in his baseball cap, good look for the Juve boss.
14'
Sampdoria had a chance to make a real statement in the Juve box with a free kick, but it doesn't make it past the first man Chiellini.
12'
Fairly low key start to the game all things considered. The rain is doing nothing to dampen the mood in the stands.
10'
Underrated little challenge from Palombo who, with Tevez backing into him, hooks his leg around the Argentine and studs the ball away.
8'
Bonucci hits and hopes with a raking ball over the top that Costa laps up easily ahead of Vucinic.
6'
The fans are in full voice just as thunder rolls around the ground. The Marassi is rocking inside out.
4'
Grown man save from Costa, who keeps his eyes on a Pirlo swerver to tip over the bar with his opposite hand.
3'
A lot of slipping and tumbling in the early goings as the teams find their feet.
1'
Bang. Welcome back to Serie A folks.
Hello and welcome to Goal's live play-by-play for the Serie A match between Juventus and Sampdoria. My name is Keeghann Sinanan, and I'll be filling you in throughout.
SAMPDORIA(5-3-2): Da Costa; Gastaldello, Palombo, Costa; De Silvestri, Eramo, Krsticic, Obiang, Castellini; Eder, Gabbiadini.
Rain pouring down at the Marassi as the teams make their way out, Sampdoria in their usual blue and white, while Juve don their yellow and blue away strip.
Pre-match formalities are done, time for the plunge.
So Carlos Tevez starts up front with Mirko Vucinic for his first ever Serie A appearance, with Fernando Llorente not fit to start. About the lineup you would expect Antonio Conte to field, given Claudio Marchisio's abscence with injury.
It's been a tragic contest on the field, with the conditions visibly standing in the way of anything that the players try to execute. Patience is wearing thin, on the pitch and in the stands. 0-0 at the break, and that scoreline doesn't look like changing anytime soon.
Juve could rightfully claim to be the superior side in a very difficult outing at the Marassi, where soaking conditions forced the match to descend into a dogfight at times. Carlos Tevez came up with the goods on his debut, and the champs make a positive start to their season.
