Deep into injury time here as Benfica look to close this game out. Bayern visit Stuttgart in their nest match, while the Portuguese side also have a trip to make domestically, traveling to face Academia.
90' +1
A. Samaris enters the game and replaces Pizzi.
Samaris enters the fray late on, and off goes Pizzi.
90'
Lewandowski is one of a few members of the Bayern team who have been well below their best tonight. The hosts are trying to knock the stuffing out of Benfica with a late goal here, but the Primeira Liga team have thwarted everything that has been thrown into the box.
88'
Lindelof is back with us and nearly sees Bayern score a second in behind him as the hosts attack, but a wayward pass from the off-colour Lewandowski has ended that attack! Should have hit that one, the Pole, as he was clear on the keeper!
86'
Lindelof came off worse for wear in that last challenge with Lewandowski, and has been pulled to the sidelines to receive treatment - meaning that Benfica are down to 10 men momentarily.
85'
M. Götze enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
Off goes Muller and on comes Gotze for the final stretch.
84'
LEWANDOWSKI CAN'T FINISH! The Polish striker is put on his bike on the break, but the defence catches up with him to block his initial effort. He keeps a hold of possession though, but loses out once again in his second attempt on goal.
83'
E. Salvio enters the game and replaces Jonas.
Jonas departs after an honest shift up top, and on comes Eduardo Salvio.
82'
EDERSON SAVES IT! The keeper has hardly put a finger out of place - or a toe, in this case. Ribery twists his way into the area and tries his luck for the bottom corner, but the Brazilian uses his feet to make the stop.
80'
Just over 10 minutes to go here in Germany, and Bayern are starting to mount another charge on the Benfica penalty area. You get the sense that the visitors are happy to take this narrow deficit into the second leg.

Description
78'
Benfica deserve all the credit for making things difficult for Bayern here, and they've even managed one or two solid efforts on goal. Time is starting to run out, and this is not a bad result for them at all.
76'
Another goal for Barcelona in their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid, and it's Luis Suarez with his second of the game, and 45th overall this season to send his side ahead 2-1.
74'
Lewandowski sets Ribery on his way during a Bayern counter-attack, but the Frenchman can't quite scamper into shooting space. He lays it wide for Bernat, who intelligently lofts a cross to the back post, but the defence just about deal with it.
72'
Vidal concedes a free-kick after a sloppy challenge on Jonas, who had rode a few Bayern challenges in a foray into the final third. No booking for the Chilean though, who is one yellow card away from a suspension.
70'
R. Jiménez enters the game and replaces K. Mitroglou.
K. Coman enters the game and replaces Douglas Costa.
Mitroglou has endured a quiet night, and he has been pulled for Jimenez here.
One wide player for another as Coman is called upon to replace Costa. The young Frenchman was superb against Juventus, and Guardiola will be hoping for a similar game-changing cameo.
68'
CHAOS IN THE BAYERN BOX! A poor header from Ribery allows Benfica to pounce, but a heroic sliding challenge from Lahm inside the area takes care of a dangerous low cross. However, the visitors keep it alive, with Jonas striding onto the rebound, only to lash his shot into the chest of Martinez!
66'
In case you haven't been following the other game at Camp Nou, Luis Suarez has now levelled the scores for Barcelona after an opener from Fernando Torres - who was also sent off.
64'
Still only one goal in this as we head past the hour mark, and the fans are getting a little frustrated as some pressure from the front forces Alaba to clear the ball out for a Benfica throw-in.
62'
V. Lindelöf gets yellow.
Lindelof gets involved in a tussle for the ball with Lewandowski, and loses possession, committing an untidy challenge to try to win the ball back. All he gets out of that is a yellow card.
60'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces J. Kimmich.
Javi Martinez continues his return from a meniscus injury as he's called upon to man the centre of defence in the last half-hour. Off goes the young defender Kimmich.
58'
Jonas gets yellow.
Jonas gets called for a handball and, moments later, he steps on the foot of Vidal in his haste to win a challenge. He gets booked for that, and he will now miss the return leg in Lisbon.
56'
BAYERN UNDER PRESSURE! Jonas gets the better of Alaba with a turn of pace, but the angle is against him and Neuer makes the save! Another positive moment for the visiting team.
54'
Costa does what he does best, cutting in from the flank onto his stronger foot, and he lets fly with an effort on goal that is blocked by the face of Jardel, nearly knocking the centre-back out. He'll need some medical attention, but he should be fine.
52'
Bayern are biding their time here around the Benfica 18-yard area, but the visitors are keeping the door firmly shut. There's been a real lack of clear-cut chances in this match since about the 20-minute mark.
50'
Lewandowski attacks a pass from Muller and drills an effort right down the throat of Ederson. It's a substandard finish, and the offside flag is up anyway. The Pole is already looking to get more involved in this half.
48'
Bayern cause problems with a quick throw, but the ball is cleared away from danger before Lindelof can pounce. No changes at the break, although Alonso has been warming up for the hosts.
46'
Here we go again!
45' +2
Another Benfica shout for handball, as Mitroglu hammers a half-volley on goal, with Vidal blocking emphatically on the slide. Very hard one for the referee to judge, and it would have been harsh on Bayern had he called that.
45' +1
Renato Sanches is down on the deck and in need of treatment, and that is a worry for the visitors, as he's been one of their increasingly influential players in the latter stages of the first-half. He'll be assessed further at the break.
44'
The game has rather petered out as we approach the half-time break. Benfica will be happy with the improvements they have made since going behind. They may well accept a narrow loss here for the second leg, but they'd like an away go al even more.
42'
Juan Bernat gets yellow.
Pizzi gets the better of Bernat out wide, and the Spanish full-back has little choice but to drag him back, conceding a foul and getting a yellow card for his troubles.
40'
LIGHTNING NEARLY STRIKES TWICE! Ribery won the game for Bayern against Frankfurt over the weekend with a spectacular scissor kick and tries to repeat the trick, but his athletic effort can't trouble Ederson.
38'
Benfica have been trying to pick out their forward pairing of Jonas and Mitroglou with early crosses into the area, with the Greek striker in particular keeping the central defenders on their toes. Having said that, neither has managed a chance yet.
36'
BOUNCED ONTO THE ROOF OF THE NET! Vidal has shown a propensity to make late runs into the area, and he tries to repeat the trick for his opener by attacking a cross, only to drive his header over the top!
34'
Benfica are now playing closer to what Vitoria would have wanted them to display. They're limiting the space around the 18-yard area now, thanks to increased contributions from their midfield four.
32'
Almost a perfectly executed set-piece from the home side, as Thiago fools the defence again, clipping a lovely little ball over the wall for Muller. Benfica were lucky that Ederson read the play before anyone else and confronted the forward to make the save.
30'
Guardiola will want his side to score more than twice here at home, because all of a sudden, Benfica look capable of nicking an away goal at some point. As Juventus showed in the previous round, this Bayern team certainly are beatable.
28'
GOOD BREAK! Bayern are caught with their troops in no man's land, as Benfica counter, with Gaitan leading the charge down the left-hand side of the pitch. Lahm stops his cross on the slide inside the area, and the visitors appeal for a penalty, which is denied! Close call!
26'
Bayern are perhaps getting a little complacent here as they've turned the ball over carelessly once or twice. It's giving the visitors a dose of confidence here, as the feeling is that they've weathered the early storm with only a goal as the damage.
24'
Benfica win a corner-kick after good work from Pizzi, and it's taken by Gaitan, but it's punched clear with some conviction by Neuer at the far post. A positive few minutes for Benfica here.
22'
F. Ribéry gets yellow.
First booking of the game has been produced by the Polish referee after Ribery went in for a challenge, missed the ball, but trod on the boots of Andre Almeida, sending the Benfica man rolling.
20'
SAVE BY EDERSON! Bayern move the ball around with supreme ease, with Ribery gliding in from the left and pinging one to Thiago, who fakes a shot and clips in a wonderful ball to Muller at the back post. The forward attacks it on the volley, but the Brazilian keeper gets down low to parry!
18'
Andre Amleida is afforded some space on the right-hand side, and he sends in a decent delivery that Mitroglou just can't manage to get on the end of. Benfica need more of that.
16'
There was minor trouble for Ederson after that last intervention he made, but it appears that he'll be alright to continue. Sanches tries to wriggle free of the attentions of Muller, but he's forced to pass back to the keeper.
14'
Ederson, who is in contention to start for Brazil this summer at the Olympics, makes a courageous stop down low to stop Lewandowski from polishing off Lahm's teasing cross into the area.
12'
It's already looking like a long evening for Benfica, as Ribery slices an effort wide of the mark. This has been clear one-way traffic, but Ederson has only had the one save to make thus far.
10'
Costa gets his first real chance to stretch his legs out wide, and he shifts inside of Eliseu to rifle an effort on target, but Ederson positions himeslf well to make his first save of the evening.
8'
Alaba is in position to head away a delivery intended for Mitroglou, and that is probably the first time that Benfica have managed to make something come remotely close to happening in the Bayern half.
6'
Bayern, as you would expect, are forcing Benfica into rushed clearances, which is hardly allowing the Portuguese side any time on the ball. It's already shaping up like so many of their Bundesliga games.
4'
Poor defending from Benfica, and what was already a tough task has now become that much harder. The last thing they want is Bayern sitting on a lead and passing them into submission.
2'
A. Vidal has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Juan Bernat.
Lewandowski and Ribery linked up to send Bernat on his way, and the Spanish defender did the rest with his delivery to set up Vidal!
DREAM START FOR BAYERN! Vidal is left unmarked in the centre of the area, and he gets his head on Bernat's cross to send the home side into the earliest of leads!
1'
We're off!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League quarter-final matchup between Bayern Munich and Benfica at the Allianz Arena. The hosts are looking to book their place in a fifth straight semi-final, but will have to overcome the in-form Portuguese outfit. Stick with us for all the action.
Bayern have won four straight games in all competitions, and continue to hold that five-point lead over Borussia Dortmund atop the Bundesliga. They reached the last eight courtesy of a 4-2 extra-time win over Juventus at this ground in the second leg of the round of 16, after 180 minutes of football saw the tie at 2-2 on aggregate.
Benfica have won 19 of their last 20 games in all competitions, and are two points ahead of Sporting CP in the Primeira Liga. They overcame Zenit in the previous phase to reach the last eight - their first appearance at this stage in four years - where they were eliminated by eventual winners Chelsea in 2011-12. They haven't reached the semis of this tournament since the 1989-90 season.
Bayern Munich have had the measure of Benfica in European competition, although it's been 20 seasons since they last met on the continent. The Bavarians have knocked out the Aguias in 1975076, 1981-82 and 1995-96 - and they reached the final in each of those three campaigns. The Portuguese side have also lost on their last three visits to die Roten, conceding 13 goals in that span.
Benfica subs: Lopez, Samaris, Jimenez, Paulo Lopes, Salvio, Talisca, Nelson Semedo.
Bayern make three changes from their 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Arturo Vidal comes in for Xabi Alonso in the deepest midfield position, while Joshua Kimmich and Douglas Costa are also recalled at the expense of Javi Martinez and Mario Gotze.
Benfica won their last match 5-1 against Braga, and manager Rui Vitoria has opted to keep the same XI that orchestrated that victory. Luisao and Julio Cesar are still missing, so, Ederson Moraes keeps his spot in between the posts, while Jardel and Victor Lindelof form the central defensive pairing.
And that will do it for now from the Allianz Arena, as Bayern Munich hold a narrow 1-0 lead over Benfica, thanks to an opener from Vidal. The early exchanges threatened a Bayern avalanche, but Benfica recovered to make more of a game of it. Still, the Portuguese side are a goal behind, and have some work to do to ensure that it remains competitive for the second leg. Stay tuned for the restart soon.
And there it is, as the referee ends the game at the Allianz Arena. Vidal's goal in the second minute turned out to be the only one, as the visitors dug deep to deny Guardiola's men a second that may have killed off the tie. Bayern were frustrated and below their best, which means that there's all to play for in the second leg in eight days' time. That's all from us, thanks for tuning in!
