There will be two minutes added on at the end of this match.
89'
EXCELLENT DEFENDING! Sahan is slipped through on goal, but his hesitation allows Azpilicueta to come around with cover, and he does so brilliantly! The Chelsea full-back is able to intervene and force a hopeful effort behind for a corner as Spain's streak of not conceding at the European Championships remains in-tact.
87'
STAT: Turkey have only registered one win in 11 games against Spain - including today (D4, L6). That sole win came in Istanbul on 14th March 1954; 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier.
85'
There's much ado about nothing going on here as the final five minutes are shaping up to be nothing more than a formality. Turkey are spending more time on the ball, as Spain coast over the line, but their focus hasn't waned in defence.
83'
Azpilicueta's first call to duty sees him concede a corner, but a moment of carelessness from Turkey sees Erkin caught offside following a short-corner routine. More salt in the rapidly expanding Turkish wounds.
81'
César Azpilicueta enters the game and replaces Jordi Alba.
A final change for Spain as Azpilicueta replaces Jordi Alba, who covered a ridiculous amount of ground tonight.
79'
The tempo has understandably fizzled out as we approach the final 10 minutes. Spain aren't looking to push the pace anymore in possession, while Turkey remain reluctant to send bodies forward in the fear of what the defending champions could do to them on the break.
77'
STAT: Spain are unbeaten in their last 13 games at the European Championships (W10, D3), the longest run in the history of the competition. Their last defeat in the tournament dates back to June 2004 against Portugal (0-1).
75'
DREADFUL! Well, the need to take your chances against Spain was already highlighted earlier, but Turkey have yet to learn their lesson. Malli's cross isn't attacked by anyone, though it's kept alive by Gonul in space on the right. The full-back has options in the centre, but puts far too much behind his delivery as it sails over everyone's head and out on the far touchline.
Minute
Description
73'
This is when Spain are at their most frustrating to play against. They're playing keep-away and doing so beautifully, hardly offering Turkey a glimpse of the ball. At this point it's all about damage control for Terim's side.
71'
Koke enters the game and replaces Cesc Fàbregas.
For Spain it's Champions League finalist Koke who enters the fray at the expense of Cesc Fabregas.
70'
Y. Mallı enters the game and replaces S. İnan.
Changes for both sides here as we enter the final 20 minutes. Turkey make their final swap, with Mainz's Yunus Malli replacing Selcuk Inan.
66'
STAT: 10 of Turkey's 11 goals at the European Championships have been scored after the 45th minute.
64'
Bruno enters the game and replaces David Silva.
Nolito is fouled by Inan, and Spain try to take the free-kick quickly, but they're stopped in their tracks as Del Bosque makes his first change. On is Villarreal winger Bruno Soriano, earning his ninth cap, with David Silva exiting.
62'
O. Şahan enters the game and replaces O. Özyakup.
Faith Terim calls upon his second substitution of the evening and he brings on Olcay Sahan at the expense of Ozyakup. So one Besiktas midfielder for another, then.
60'
WONDERFUL CLOSE CONTROL! It's so congested in the area, yet somehow Silva manages to control a pass and squeeze into a bit of space at the near post, but his shot deflects behind for a corner! When Spain are on, they're a joy to behold.
58'
While Turkey can't afford to throw caution to the wind, as a 4-0 defeat or worse may make their final game a formality more than anything, they could desperately use a goal to help their differential. They're spending plenty of time on the ball here as Spain take their foot off the gas, but the necessary quality in the final third has eluded Terim's side.
56'
Turkey remain on the front foot in search of a route back into this game. Yilmaz is afforded another look in the area, but he tries to square this time and his delivery is broken up by Pique. They win a free-kick moments later, but again the Barcelona centre-half is on hand to clear Inan's delivery.
54'
STAT: Spain have only conceded one goal in their last 10 games in the tournament, it was scored by Italy's Antonio Di Natale on 10 June 2012 (1-1).
52'
HE HAD TO TAKE THE CHANCE! Opportunities are scarce against Spain, making it that much more crucial you take them when they arise. Yilmaz is sprung into the area, before switching onto his left to open the angle brilliantly for himself, but he scuffs a left-footed effort wide of the far post!
50'
Well he certainly isn't lacking service! Another exquisite delivery over the top, this time from Fabregas, picks out Morata, but the striker's header drifts a yard beyond the far post as he just narrowly misses out on his hat-trick goal!
48'
Álvaro Morata has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by Jordi Alba.
Not sure what was better there, the run or the pass. Either way, it's an assist for Alba.
THEY'RE UNPLAYABLE! Iniesta plays a delicious ball through for Alba, who unselfishly squares for Morata. With only the keeper to beat, the striker rolls a simple finish through Babacan's legs for his second of the match!
46'
N. Şahin enters the game and replaces H. Çalhanoğlu.
Back underway in Nice! The last time Turkey were trailing 2-0 at half-time at the Euros, they came back to win 3-2 against the Czech Republic in 2008. It's a much more daunting task facing them tonight, but don't say it can't be done!
A change made out of necessity for Faith Terim as Nuri Sahin is brought on to help shore up the midfield to prevent their goal differential from worsening, with Calhanoglu the one to give way. He'll be rested ahead of a crucial final match.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: SPAIN 2-0 TURKEY.
45'
There will be just one minute added on at the end of this first half.
43'
Spain up their pursuit of another before the break, as Turkey fall into desperate times in defence. They're being hemmed back in their own end after starting the match so well, but find themselves two-goals down and in need of the half-time whistle to sound before it gets any worse.
40'
O. Tufan gets yellow.
Tufan becomes the second Turkish player booked as frustration begins to set in here.
39'
Turkey's response to falling behind was always going to be crucial, but they got it all wrong. Their focus wanes after conceding the opener, and as all great teams do, Spain punish them dearly. They're comfortably ahead now as we approach the half-time interval.
37'
Nolito has scored a goal for Spain!
HOW ABOUT ANOTHER, POR FAVOR?! Fabregas' ball into the area is poor, but not as poor as the dreadful attempt to clear from Topal, who sends a header straight into the path of Nolito. The striker has a clean look at goal and he places a first-time finish in at the near post. That's too easy!
34'
Álvaro Morata has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by Nolito.
TURKEY'S RESISTANCE IS BROKEN! Nolito cuts onto his right out wide and floats a terrific delivery into the area. Morata splits the two centre-halves as he rises to meet it, sends a header crashing into the back of the net! His Euro account has been opened at last!
Nolito has been everywhere in attack tonight and he picks up the assist, courtesy of a beautifully cushioned cross in for Morata.
33'
EXCELLENT TRACKING! Spain starting to open up this Turkish defence a bit now with their quick, precise passing. Juanfran produces a delightful pull-back to spot the run of Nolito in the centre, but Tufan busts a gut to get back into the area and break it up! That's some wonderfully committed defending!
31'
STAT: Spain haven't conceded a single goal in their last 631 minutes and counting at the European Championships, the longest run in the history of the tournament.
29'
AGONISINGLY WIDE! A pair of excellent runs off the ball help to open up a pocket of space for Nolito atop the area. He has eyes for goal the whole way as he tries to bend an effort towards the far stick, but it drifts onto the wrong side of goal!
27'
NOT FAR AWAY! It was probably a bit too far for Calhanoglu in the end, but it's an admirable effort from the Leverkusen man as he goes for the near corner, but skims the roof of the net with his strike which sails behind for a goal-kick.
26'
Here's a chance for Turkey! Turan is fouled by Juanfran right near the centre of the pitch, just under 30 yards from goal. They have players queuing up to take, in what's shaping up to be a real opportunity to have a shot at goal...
24'
THAT'S WHERE HE LIKES IT! You can sense the confidence growing in this Turkey side with each passing minute. Calhanoglu moves into a more central role, doing well to shake off a defender and get into a pocket of space from 25 yards, where he loves to strike it from. This time the end product lets him down, however, as he lifts an effort over the bar.
22'
Iniesta goes down in a heap as he has his ankle stepped on, albeit accidentally, by Tufan. The midfielder takes a minute to compose himself before getting back to his feet, but there's a visible limp in his step. Meanwhile, Turkey break forward in numbers, but Yilmaz starts his run early as the flag goes up to deny him a chance following a clever pick-out by Calhanoglu.
20'
Well all things considered, Turkey have started this match encouragingly. They certainly don't appear intimidated, and some organised play at the back has ultimately limited Spain's chances to a few speculative efforts from outside the area through the first 20 minutes.
18'
Turkey enjoy their first real prominent spell in the attacking half, marking their territory on the left flank. Erkin is gifted possession twice in an advanced position out wide, but he's unable to pick out an adequate delivery, with Juanfran doing an excellent job to close down on his counterpart.
16'
BLOCKED! Pressure from Spain is relentless now, but they're being hindered by their own desire to carve out the perfect chance. Ozyakup gives the ball away senselessly after a strong defensive interception, but Iniesta's effort from atop the area is blocked and then cleared.
14'
STAT: Gerard Pique's first international goal for Spain was against Turkey in March 2009. His goal against the Czech Republic last Monday was his first in a major tournament with La Roja.
12'
BOUNCED OVER! Pique rises to meet the ensuing corner, and sends a header down towards the ground. It bounces dangerously towards goal, but winds up crashing onto the roof of the net.
11'
OFF THE WOODWORK! Spain starting to impost themselves now as they set-up camp in the attacking half. A delightful run from Nolito on the left sees him into space before delivering a low cross in towards the near post, but Balta slides in, sending a clearance off the outside of the post and behind for a corner!
9'
B. Yılmaz gets yellow.
Yilmaz treading in deep waters as he flings an arm up dangerously, catching Busquets square in the face. It's a real reckless foul from the Turkey striker, but he's saved perhaps by the typically theatrical reaction of Busquets, as he's shown just a yellow card.
7'
WONDERFUL HIT! Morata does well to control a pass, fend off a challenge and turn beyond Ozyakup before trying for luck. He gets good pace behind his effort from 25 yards, but Babacan gets over to his near post to parry behind for a corner.
5'
But then just as Spain do so well, they find the smallest of spaces at the back, and in the blink of an eye they're into the final third. Silva wins his side a corner, which is played short before eventually being delivered into the area - but Turkey deal with it accordingly in defence.
3'
Turkey come out of gate adopting a very brave approach as they engage Spain high up the pitch. They have up to six men at a time pressing the Furia Roja defenders in possession, and it's resulted in a few uneasy moments for defending champions in the opening stages.
1'
Sergio Ramos gets yellow.
Ramos commits a poor first touch, putting himself under pressure as Yilmaz closes down in a hurry. The striker wins the ball before being dragged to ground, and that produces the game's first yellow card for the Real Madrid defender.
AND WE'RE OFF! Spain in their red tops get us underway, attacking left to right, with Turkey in their white shirts and black shorts.
HE'S UP FOR IT! Bruno goes in search of his first international goal, at the age of 32, and puts Babacan to work quickly with a delightful strike from 25 yards. The keeper is up to the task, however, getting down quickly to his left to parry behind for a corner.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage from the Allianz Riviera in Nice as defending champions Spain try and book their place in the knockout stage against a nation in Turkey attempting to keep their tournament hopes alive. Stay tuned for all the action!
A late Gerard Pique header snatched Spain all three points against Czech Republic on Monday, as La Furia Roja’s title defence got off and running. They weren’t overly impressive, only showing flashes of the quality which won them three consecutive titles (2008, 2010 and 2012), but it’s nothing new. Vicente del Bosque’s side are notorious for getting stronger as these tournaments wear on, so it’s safe to say the best has yet to come for Spain who would secure a spot in the round of 16 with another three points tonight.
Turkey will hardly be panicking despite narrowly dropping their opening match against Croatia. They reached the semi-final in their last appearance at the European Championships in 2008, despite losing their opening match 2-0 to Portugal. Faith Terim was in charge of Turkey during that tournament as well, but that isn’t to say the pressure isn’t on – defeat today would leave their hopes of progressing hanging by a thread.
Vicente del Bosque names an unchanged starting XI following their victory over the Czech Republic in their opening match. The back-line selects itself, as does the midfield, with the main questions coming in attack. Despite being unable to get on the scoresheet on Monday, Alvaro Morata, Nolito and David Silva keep their place in the line-up, though there are options off the bench in the form of Lucas Vazquez, Pedro and Artiz Aduriz should the starters fail to find their form here tonight.
Just the one change for Faith Terim as Beijing striker Burak Yilmaz is selected to lead the line in place of Cenk Tosun, who is dropped to the bench. The ex-Galatasaray forward will be flanked by Hakan Calhanoglu and Arda Turan, in what could resemble a 4-5-1 formation or a 4-3-3 for Turkey, depending on how eager they are to push forward. Turan will be up against four of his Barcelona team-mates tonight.
These are two countries certainly not lacking in passion, as is exemplified by the arousing rendition of the national anthems. Both sides are well-represented here in Nice, creating a truly wonderful atmosphere ahead of kick-off!
Turkey were very much on level terms in every aspect after the first half-hour, but Spain hit their stride soon after as goals from Alvaro Morata and Nolito provide them with a comfortable lead at the break... and that's why they're back-to-back continental champions. Turkey are starting an early exit in the face, but they've had plenty of encouraging moments to give them confidence going forward as they look to mount an improbable comeback.
Vicente del Bosque's side remain perfect in their title defence as they book their place in the knockout stage, with Alvaro Morata netting a brace and Nolito adding the third in the convincing victory. Business as usual for Spain who go into their final match with Croatia knowing a draw will be enough to send them through as group winners. For Turkey, they need to beat the Czech Republic by a big scoreline and get help from elsewhere to keep their slim hopes of progressing alive.
That's all for our live coverage from Nice, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
