A scrappy end to the match here. Both sets of players just want to see the final whistle now. The ball is being surrendered easily by both teams, who are just looking to run down the clock.
88'
Great play from Lukoki! He leaves Hummels for dead on the right before twisting and turning on the edge of the box. He eventually gets a shot away but it is very comfortable for Weidenfeller in the end.
86'
D. Hoesen has scored a goal for Ajax! Assist by C. Eriksen.
And they have one!! GOOOOAAAAL FOR AJAX!! Danny Hoesen picks up the ball on the left-hand side and fortuitously clips a deflected shot over Weidenfeller into the far corner! The home fans have something to cheer about!
85'
Ajax still pushing forward looking for a consolation. Fair play to the hosts they haven't gave up.
84'
N. Moisander gets yellow.
83'
Niklas Moisander is booked. The Ajax defender crept up behind Lewandowski and cynically raked his studs down the back of the Pole's calf. That looked a sore one! Deserved yellow card.
81'
Subotic and Hummels have been fantastic at the back for the visitors tonight. They have put their bodies in front of a few shots at goal and have dominated the areas in front of their goal. I don't think they have lost a header all night.
79'
J. Schieber enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
Dortmund look set to get a monkey off their back. They are on the verge of their first away win in the competition, qualifying included, since beating AC Milan at San Siro in March 2003.
77'
The pocket of Dortmund fans have held their own in choir terms against the formidable home fans of Ajax. Two of the best supports in the world, without a doubt.
75'
Dortmund are happy to let Ajax have more of the possession. The German side are sitting relatively deep inside their own half. There's no need to exert themselves too much in the last 15 minutes.
Minute
Description
73'
V. Fischer enters the game and replaces D. Boerrigter.
Ajax have been so limp in front of goal tonight. De Jong has showed plenty of effort in the lone striker role but it is not his primary position. He has came deep to try and see more of the ball and as a result the home side have lacked a presence inside the Dortmund box.
71'
Dortmund follow suit and take off Mario Gotze for Jakub Blaszczykowski. The German was on a yellow card so probably an intelligent change from Klopp. The game is won.
70'
J. Błaszczykowski enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
69'
Just before Dortmund netted their fourth. Eyong Enoh was withdrawn for Danny Hoesen. The Dutch champions going for broke but it certainly too little too late.
67'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Götze.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLL FOR DORTMUND!!! Inspirational from Lewandowski! Gotze links up with Gundogan before driving inside and clipping a gorgeous pass to the back post. The Poland international takes the ball down and lashes it into the bottom corner! Not great goalkeeping from Vermeer! 4-0!!
65'
Chance for Ajax!! Schone latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and hits a daisy cutter towards goal but it is relatively comfortable for Weidenfeller.
64'
D. Hoesen enters the game and replaces E. Enoh.
63'
I. Perišić enters the game and replaces S. Bender.
Bender will not be able to continue. The German comes off to be replaced by Ivan Perisic.
62'
Eriksen is starting to see a lot more of the ball in the hole just infront of the Dortmund defence. This time he picks up and lashes a strike towards the top corner but it is always rising and does not bother Weidenfeller.
60'
Dortmund are temporarily down to 10 men as Sven Bender receives a nasty blow to the bridge of the nose. Blood is drawn and the German will have to go off to receive treatment.
58'
Fair play to the Ajax fans. They are still creating a vibrant atmosphere and are doing everything to try and get behind their team. Such a big ask, though.
56'
Gotze takes a high ball out the air with ease just outside the Ajax box and attempts a powerful drive towards goal but he was off balance and the shot goes harmlessly over the bar. Great touch, though.
54'
Replays show that it was indeed the correct by the referee. Well, we took the scenic route but we got there in the end.
53'
M. Götze gets yellow.
Penalty for Dortmund! Wait! NO! The referee points to the spot but changes his mind an books Gotze for diving after the German went down under the challenge of Moisander! Jurgen Klopp looks bemused at the touchline!
51'
Half chance for Ajax. Eriksen breaks the Dortmund offside trap and looks to get on the end of of a loose ball inside the penalty area. He attempts to dink the ball over Weidenfeller but can't get enough purchase on the strike. The Dortmund goalkeeper makes a relatively easy save.
49'
Eriksen drives forward and looks to exchange a one-two with De Jong on the edge of the box. The forward instead looks to pick out Lukoki in space on the right but Dortmund get back in numbers to retrieve the ball.
47'
Here's a stat for you: Ajax have never been 3-0 down at half time in the Champions League in their history. Some unwanted history made tonight by the hosts.
46'
L. Schöne enters the game and replaces C. Poulsen.
THE SECOND HALF IS UNDERWAY!
A change to report at half time. Christian Poulsen comes off for Lasse Schone. A positive substitution from Frank De Boer.
43'
Ajax have enjoyed so much possession in the match but Dortmund have been incredibly ruthless in front of goal. The hosts haven't been terrible but they have been picked off at the back by a frighteningly talented Dortmund frontline.
41'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR DORTMUND!!! 3-0!! Gotze drives a half-volley towards goal from the edge of the area. Vermeer makes a great save from the deflected strike but Lewandowski reacts first and sweeps the ball home!! Ajax are sinking without a trace!
39'
Boerrigter looks to give Ajax an immediate reaction to going two behind! He picks up the ball 12 yards out with his back to goal and turns and smashes a shot towards goal but Subotic makes a fantastic block! Great defending!
37'
We probably saw the best and worst of Van Rhijn there. He showed plenty of endeavour going forward but there were some definite question marks about the defending there.
36'
M. Götze has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Hummels.
GOOOOOOAAAAAAAL DORTMUND!!! Fantastic strike! Gotze picks up the ball on the left-hand side and cuts infield before nutmegging Van Rhijn and lashing the ball into the bottom left corner!! 2-0!
33'
Great play from Van Rhijn! The right-back shows tremendous pace and determination to burst down the wing and whip a dangerous cross into the centre. However, Dortmund again manage to head the ball away. The visitors have been so dominant in aerial positions so far.
31'
Marco Reus ghosts into the penalty area and leaves a couple of defenders for dead. He looks poised for a shot on goal but Poulsen comes in with a vital interception. Reus eventually fouls him and Ajax get the free kick.
29'
Gotze drifts pass two tackles from Ajax players down the right and menacingly drives towards the home defence but at the last minute his touch lets him down and the hosts manage to scramble the ball clear. Jurgen Klopp gives his player applause for his effort.
27'
Ajax have scored eight goals in their last three games but they have not showed anything to suggest they will consider this impressive stat. They look to be missing Ryan Babel, who is missing with injury. The Dutchman would add some much needed pace and movement in attack.
25'
Lewandowski turns excellently in the Ajax half and picks out Piszczek in an advanced position down the right. The Poland international looks to whips a cross between the defence and goalkeeper of the hosts but Moisander is there to clear to safety.
23'
Ajax's delivery in the final third has been poor so far. They are beginning to see more of the ball deep in the Dortmund half but too many crosses and passes into the centre have been easily dealt with by Hummels and Subotic.
21'
Weidenfeller commands his area well and comes off from his line to punch the ball to safety. Dortmund regroup well and Ajax reclaim possession.
20'
Boerrigter drives down the left wing and shows great pace to drive to the byline. His cross comes off Piszczek and goes out for a corner. The Ajax fans crank up the noise a few notches!
18'
E. Enoh gets yellow.
Eyong Enoh receives the first booking of the match. The referee obviously remembered his late challenge on Reus and opts to book the Ajax man after he trips up Piszczek. He'll need to be careful for the rest of the match.
16'
Ajax have certainly had the majority of possession so far but they just don't look particularly dangerous. Most of their time on the ball has came in deeper positions and they don't look a threat in the final third as of yet.
14'
Eriksen receives the ball in a superb position just outside the Dortmund half. He lookes to pick an incisive pass for Blind on the left but Piszczek is there to clean the play up. He launches the ball up to Gotze who looks to find the unmarked Lewandowski inside but Moisander makes a vital interception. End to end stuff here!
12'
Enoh is giving a talking to from the referee after the Ajax man went in very late on Marco Reus inside the Dortmund half. It wasn't a particularly bad tackle but the ball was long gone. The referee is lenient, for now.
10'
Ajax have not done much wrong at all but they were undone by a wonderful piece of play from the talented Dortmund duo. No need to panic as their is still plenty of time to get back into the match.
8'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Götze.
GOOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR DORTMUND!! A lovely move!! Mario Gotze picks up the ball on the right-hand side and threads a pass into the path of Marco Reus who coolly slips the ball through the legs of Vermeer! Wonderful! 1-0 Dortmund!
6'
Dortmund have just started to settle in the match now. Bender and Gundogan have began to see more of the ball in the centre of midfield and are controlling the play well. Vibrant start to the match.
4'
Subotic rises high to dominantly head away the corner kick. The home crowd are really up for this in the opening few minutes!
3'
Blind does brilliantly to catch the ball down the left-hand side. He digs out a superb cross to the back post and Weidenfeller is forced to tip the ball over the bar. Corner kick to the hosts!
2'
Ajax begin the match with composure. They are keeping it calm and passing the ball around patiently. The ball is punted up to Lukoki who aims to chest the ball down and burst through the middle but his control lets him down and Weidenfeller collects.
