Super save by DR Congo keeper Kidiaba! Keita finds some energy from somewhere but the Mali star is denied with his shot inside the box.
90' +1
Four minutes of added time here in Durban!
90'
Mbokani's flick on from the free kick goes straight to the Mali goalkeeper. Any momentum that might have existed evaporates.
89'
One minute of normal time remains. DR Congo are throwing players forward as they are awarded a free kick on the halfway line.
88'
Fun fact (unless you're a fan of the nation): DR Congo will be eliminated from the Afcon without having won a match at this rate!
87'
S. Diarra enters the game and replaces S. Diakité.
86'
P. Kabangu enters the game and replaces Y. Diba.
DR Congo want a late penalty but nothing is given. Probably the correct call too, there was clear contact on the ball from the Mali defender.
85'
K. Traoré gets yellow.
84'
Gabriel Zakuani defends excellently in the six-yard box for DR Congo, as the team edge towards elimination.
82'
Keita flashes a header so very close for Mali from a corner!
Minute
Description
80'
This game is teetering towards Mali going through with a draw. DR Congo are looking less and less likely to score here in Durban...
79'
D. Kanda enters the game and replaces D. Kaluyituka.
78'
C. Diabaté enters the game and replaces M. Samassa.
Bordeaux striker Cheick Diabate comes on for (striker) Samassa. Just 12 minute remain for DR Congo to edge a winner, but Mali are defending valiantly.
77'
C. Makiadi gets yellow.
76'
The play remains scrappy as this final group game clatters to a conclusion.
74'
Diba drives forwards and into the area, but his thumped cross cannons off a Mali man and out for a corner.
73'
K. Traoré enters the game and replaces M. Sissoko.
Mulumbu puts his best surprised face on as he hacks down a Mali defender. He shares a joke with the ref afterwards, at least!
71'
Less than 20 minutes left in this tie, and Mali remain the team which will go through second in Group B.
69'
At the other end, the gloved Samassa pulls off a superb fingertip save to tip Mulumbu's low, 20-yard effort goes around the post. A truly terrific save from the Mali man.
68'
A beastly volleyed clearance from Mulumbu. DR Congo are so keen to get the ball forwards that aim and accuracy seems to have become a secondary factor!
66'
Mamadou Samassa - the goalscorer, not the goalkeeper, yes there are two of them - almost grabs a second to today's tally! Kidiaba nearly chucks the feeble effort into his own net inexplicably, but luckily for the DR Congo shot-stopper it goes behind for a corner.
64'
M. Samassa gets yellow.
Mbokani gets his head on the ball after a short corner but it goes wide and it's a goal kick. Mamadou Samassa, the Mali goalkeeper, gets a booking for time wasting, deservedly.
63'
Congo's Diba flies down the left wing with a super change of pace, but his cross is headed behind for a corner.
60'
With two thirds of the game gone, Mali are set to go through to the knock-out stage in second place behind Ghana. DR Congo are going out unless they can grab a second goal without conceding!
58'
DR Congo keeper Kidiaba's kick in atrocious and almost allows Mali to counterattack and nick a winning strike.
57'
On the other hand, they haven't penetrated much, and have hardly threatened the goal since the third minute.
55'
It's been deathly quiet in the Mali attack in this latter 45 minutes. DR Congo have unquestionably been the more dominant side.
53'
Yves Diba Ilunga blasts a wasteful effort wide from 30 yards for DR Congo.
52'
A. Tamboura gets yellow.
51'
Ghana have gone 3-0 up against Niger now. They are utterly cruising. If Niger come back in that tie I will buy a box-load of hats and each and every one of them,
49'
Great tackle from Tamboura, in opinion, but the referee calls for a free kick to DR Congo on the right.
48'
No mental start to this half, sadly. The woodwork remains unstruck and there has not been a penalty shout as of yet!
46'
T. Mputu enters the game and replaces L. LuaLua.
And we're under way in the second half!
45' +2
Excellent use of body from Mbokani to win a free kick for DR Congo. Keita frowns and grumbles away as he jogs from the incident.
45' +1
Keita's free kick deflects off the Congo wall and over the bar for a Mali corner.
45'
Samba Diakite wins a free kick 25 yards out. He goes down in the penalty area but the fouls started outside the box and the referee is right to call it back a bit.
44'
A beautiful cross from the left from Keita lands perfectly on Maiga's head eight yards from goal - unmarked - but the West Ham striker fluffs the chance and nods over the crossbar.
43'
Sissoko clatters another DR Congo player, this time it's Mbokani who is on the receiving end of the foul.
42'
I don't like the vuvuzelas much, but I'm not going to lie, I would love to have one. The supporters at this tournament look like they're having a whale of a time today!
40'
A we enter the final five minutes, it's Congo who are pressing for the third goal of the game.
38'
LuaLua takes two steps then curls the set piece straight into the wall. Wasted, from Congo.
37'
PSG's Sissoko loves fouling players in dangerous positions. He hacks down a Congo attacker 25 yards out.
35'
Diawara's ball is too heavy from the right but Maiga latches onto the ball at the left edge of the box, but his control is poor and possession is given away.
33'
S. Sow gets yellow.
Samba Sow concedes a free kick by dragging back LuaLua and out comes another yellow card. It's becoming a tad too scrappy right now.
32'
S. Kéita gets yellow.
My award for the best kit of the competition goes to... DR Congo! I don't care that I haven't seen many of the others. Their blue kit with the red diagonal stripe cannot be beaten!
30'
The state of play a third of the way into the game? DR Congo may have taken an early lead but they are heading out if it remains at 1-1. Mali will go through with a draw, but should they concede a second without response then it will be them who will be eliminated!
28'
Keita - playing in his sixth Afcon - and Maiga - playing in his third Afcon - work together nicely along the left for Mali.
27'
LuaLua caught in the box! But the referee gives nothing! Yet to see a replay on the tackle but on first glance it looked like a potential penalty...
25'
Great play by Mulumbu to win the ball and break the chain of constant pressure from Mali.
23'
Ghana are now 2-0 ahead against Niger!
22'
Mali right-back Fousseni Diawara wins a free-kick near the right corner flag after LuaLua finds himself near the wrong penalty area.
21'
Y. Mulumbu gets yellow.
And Mulumbu gets a yellow! It's probably deserved; he give Seydou Keita quite the cuddle 50 yards from the DR Congo goal.
20'
West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu wins a foul in his own half. The Mali man is highly rated in the Premier League nowadays.
18'
Mali have pegged back Congo a bit, and the side who went ahead early are no longer in the ascendency.
16'
What a cracking game we have on our hands. This is what we had hoped the Afcon would be like, back at the start of the competition.
14'
M. Samassa has scored a goal for Mali! Assist by A. Tamboura.
GOAL!! Mali have made it 1-1! Adama Tamboura gets down the line and crosses the ball at a tight angle for Mamadou Samassa, who calmly slots it in at the back post!
11'
I'll be continuously bringing you details of what's going on in the other Afcon clash, which is going on simultaneously. The latest news? Niger have had a goal ruled out for nothing apparently.
10'
DR Congo have won the Afcon twice in their history, but that was back when they used to be called Zaire. So the words DR Congo are yet to be inscribed on any trophy.
9'
After that frantic start this game has eased into a more flowing groove. Less frantic, and frankly, terrifying than that first 30 seconds!
7'
Ghana have gone ahead in their game with Niger! Asamoah Gyan is the goalscorer.
5'
Mohamed Sissoko, the man who conceded the penalty I believe, fire a volley-of-sorts on goal but Kidiaba holds onto the strike.
4'
I just love that Congo keeper that does the bum shuffle whenever his team score. Muteba Kidiaba, is his name. Bum shuffling is his game!
3'
Penalty goal scored by Dieumerci Mbokani for Congo DR!
Dieumerci Mbokani... puts it into the top corner!! Terrific start for DR Congo!! 1-0 they lead already!!
1'
And we're off! DR Congo in blue, the Mali team in yellow!
WHAT A START! Penalty to DR Congo, just seconds after LuaLua hit the post! Absolutely mental!
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE! coverage of DR Congo v Mali!
I'm Miles Chambers and I'll be the chap chatting through this game with you fine folk this afternoon!
You can get in touch with me directly during the game by tweeting @Miles_Chambers, or you can get involved in the chat section on the right-hand side.
Personally, I'm crossing my fingers for a better game than the one I covered last week - Ghana v Mali. Holy moly, that game was appalling. 46 fouls in that match! 46!!!
I'm not going to lie, I have a slight affinity towards DR Congo simply because somersaulting extraordinaire Lomana LuaLua is starting for them today. What a temporary legend he was during his spell at Newcastle United.
Half-time! All square after a super start from DR Congo, which saw Mbokani score from the spot after they won a penalty in the first minute of the match. Mali came back into the tie and equalised roughly halfway into the half. Since then it's been pretty darn even, and could go either way. Stay tuned to find out who will qualify!
That's it! Full-time in Durban! Mali go through in second place in Group B while DR Congo are eliminated. A feisty match from both teams concerned but the a valiant defence from Mali ensure that Congo are denied a place in the quarter-final stage. This game ends 1-1, but don't let the draw scoreline fool you into thinking there wasn't a winner and a loser!
I'm going to shuffle away now. In fact, in honour of Kidiaba - whose celebration will not be seen for the remainder of the tournament - I'm going to bum shuffle away! Thanks folks, see you again next time!
