With a late goal, and guaranteed suspensions for Ibrahimovic and Verratti, Valencia may just have clawed their way back into the tie!
90' +2
Z. Ibrahimović goes off after a red card!
RED CARD! Ibrahimovic is off! The Swede goes over the top of the ball with a poor challenge on Guardado!
90'
A. Rami has scored a goal for Valencia! Assist by T. Costa.
GOAL! Rami turns the ball home, from a Costa free-kick delivery! The centre-back seems to wriggle free of his marker, and he stabs the ball home!
88'
S. Armand enters the game and replaces J. Pastore.
Guardado marauds down the left flank once more, and delivers a much better cross, picking out Valdez. The target man however, fails to control the ball, and Maxwell hurriedly slices the loose ball away from danger!
86'
Oooh! Sirigu has to palm away a long range Costa free-kick, parrying the ball out of the danger area!
84'
Jonathan Viera enters the game and replaces S. Féghouli.
Valencia looked to have substituted Soldado, a strange decision if I've ever seen one, but the fourth official changes the board to Feghouli's number instead. That would have been a very strange substitution!
82'
End to end stuff now, with two reasonably tired teams. PSG are just beginning to look a little bit stretched by the width of Guardado and Pereira, but the nucleus of Alex and Sakho is standing firm.
80'
Almost a chance for Valencia! After a good, firm ball to Soldado's feet from deep, the striker dummies to give Valdez a chance at goal, but he is stood up well by Alex. The Brazilian centre half has been majestic in defence today.
79'
Valencia really are struggling to find the final ball they so greatly require. I've lost count of the amount of times the home side have put in poor deliveries, they're making Alex and Sakho's evening far easier than it should be.
78'
Guardado beats Chantome easily, as he skips past the Frenchman, but he screws his cross wildly over the bar! That was really poor from the Mexico international.
Minute
Description
76'
J. Ménez enters the game and replaces E. Lavezzi.
OOOH! Valdez misses Valencia's best opportunity of the game! The big striker controls the ball, outmuscles Alex, but smashes the ball into the side netting from a tight angle!
74'
Wow, this second half has been full of chances! No conversion as of yet, but there surely must be another goal in this game before the final whistle! PSG the more likely, during every attack they look dangerous.
73'
Now Soldado is furious! A deep cross is floated into the area and the striker goes down, claiming that he's been tugged or pushed! Not quite sure whether it deserved a penalty there, Soldado failed to get up to challenge for the ball!
71'
PSG have a goal ruled out for offside! Chantome turns home the ball after a goalmouth scramble, after Guaita saves from an Ibrahimovic effort! They away side are incensed, they think that Chantome received the ball off a poor Valencia clearance!
69'
Valencia have given up with their early second half policy of pressing. Feghouli then balloons a long range half volley miles over the bar! Sums up Valencia's attacking play so far.
67'
Feghouli gets in behind Maxwell, and fires a cross into the near post, but Sirigu claims the delivery easily. He could have definitely waited to pick out a better pass there!
66'
IBRA! CLOSE again! Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi break quickly, before exchanging a one-two, but the Swede fails to get to the return pass before Guaita!
65'
PSG could have just wrapped up this game, and Lavezzi will be feeling rather guilty if they manage to throw away this lead! He's had several great chances in this second half, but he's been left wanting in the finishing department, that's for sure!
63'
Oooh! LAVEZZI! Close again! Verratti carves a chance out for the Argentine with a great ball, the goalscorer sets himself and looks to be in a position to slide the ball beneath the onrushing goalkeeper, but he inside lifts the ball into Guiata's arms! Unlucky!
61'
MISS! Lavezzi has just had the opportunity to end this match as a contest, as Guaita's poor save finds its way to the Argentine from a few yards out, but he gets it all wrong, and slices the ball wide! He's got his head in his hands, he knows that was a great chance!
60'
Ooh! Soldado manages to get clear of Alex in the PSG area, but can't get a shot away due to poor control! Chantome has looked quite solid for the visitors since his introduction, he's yet to put a foot wrong.
58'
PSG are still holding their shape and holding firm. Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi are looking to break when the away side gain possession, but other than the two forward men, the rest of Ancelotti's side are in no rush to push on.
56'
Oooh! Good block from Chantome! The substitute throws himself in front of a long range drive, deflecting the ball behind for a corner! Valencia really are causing problems at the moment!
55'
Nothing comes of the set piece however. Costa has the potential to deliver some good quality balls, but so far he's failed to find the heads of Valdez and Rami with any regularity.
54'
Alex heads away a Guardado cross, and Chantome gives away a needless foul on the Mexican makeshift full-back
53'
C. Chantôme enters the game and replaces Lucas Moura.
Soldado really hasn't had the service he requires so far. Valencia have started the second half energetically and they're threatening PSG too. All of their efforts will be fruitless if the hosts can't score a goal rather soon, however.
51'
Canales drives in a teasing cross from deep on the left flank, and Sirigu races out to perform a flying dive to punch the ball away from danger. He's definitely being kept busy - he just had to tip a Valdez header over the bar!
50'
PSG aren't being allowed a moment on the ball. Valencia's forward options are really trying to force a mistake, closing down the man on the ball extremely quickly. So far, PSG haven't been too flustered, but they have been forced back to Sirigu twice in quick succession.
48'
A focused start yet again from Valencia. I get the feeling that Ancelotti is perfectly happy to let the home side keep the ball, as they really showcased their impotence in the opening 45 minutes.
47'
Valencia have shown their new intentions from the off. The introduction of two new attacking options, and quick pressing are already causing some problems. The home side are really going for it now.
46'
N. Valdez enters the game and replaces Jonas.
Sergio Canales enters the game and replaces É. Banega.
And we are back underway! Valencia need a goal as soon as they possibly can to try and fight their way back into this game! PSG are looking to be certainties for the quarter finals at the moment!
45' +1
The goalscorer Pastore manages to prove his worth defensively too! Costa whips in a free kick, and the Argentine manages to defend the near post, nodding the ball away as it looked to find the top corner!
45'
What a frustrating half for the Mestalla crowd to deal with! After monopolising possession, they've got absolutely nothing to show for it, and PSG have two away goals in the opening 45 minutes!
43'
J. Pastore has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Lucas Moura.
GOAL! PASTORE! Lucas works his way down the right flank, before beating Guardado wonderfully with a chop inside! The Brazilian sets the ball back to Pastore, who slots the ball home! Again, Guaita isn't showering himself in glory!
41'
Matiudi and Verratti are acting as a very well disciplined shield in front of the back four, and Valencia are still being frustrated. Meanwhile Guaiti remains unconvincing.
39'
Jonas and Feghouli combine well on the edge of the area, but the PSG defence stand firm yet again. Alex is really marshalling the troops tonight, such a player is invaluable in away fixtures such as this, where the opposite are monopolising possession.
38'
CLOSE! Lavezzi again! After good work from Pastore, Lavezzi manages to curl his foot around the ball and test Guaita yet again! The Valencia keeper really doesn't look too comfortable!
37'
PSG are just absorbing all of this Valencia possession. The Spanish side have dominated in terms of keeping the ball, yet Sirigu remains untroubled!
35'
Pereira and Feghouli really have combined well down this right hand side, Maxwell isn't having the best of games defensively so far! After Feghouli is fouled, Costa whips in a free-kick but Jonas heads the ball way over the bar.
33'
Valencia are yet to test Sirigu in the PSG net. They've had a lot of possession, but haven't really managed to unleash Soldado, he's spent most of his time on the ball with his back to goal!
32'
M. Verratti gets yellow.
João Pereira gets yellow.
31'
Lavezzi has gone down under a seemingly fair challenge from Costa. The Spanish side put the ball out after a minute or so, and Alex is not happy whatsoever! Costa got the ball clearly there, but he did catch the Argentine afterwards.
29'
After a slow start, PSG are certainly the dominant force in this match at the moment. Soldado looks a little isolated, however PSG have a wealth of attacking options available during every pattern of play.
27'
Guaita fails to impress once again! Lucas leaves Rami for dead with immense pace, and fires a somewhat tame effort at goal. The Valencia shot stopper manages to get behind the ball, but smothers it on his second attempt!
26'
Ibrahimovic is fed in behind the Valencia defence by Verratti, before sprinting to the byline and whipping a cross in. The delivery is aimed for the back post, but Lucas can't quite get on the end of it.
25'
Lavezzi is playing extremely centrally so far, which has allowed Pereira to get forward for Valencia at any given opportunity. Rami has been solid so far, but there surely must be more goals in this game for the visitors.
23'
Speak of the devil! Guardado manages to pounce on a Sakho half-clearance, but blasts his effort over the bar with his first touch! I think he got a little carried away there, the Mexican really didn't keep his body over the ball whatsoever.
22'
All the play has come down Valencia's right, so far. Guardado would have been the man I expected to bomb forward, but Pereira has barely stayed in his own half!
21'
Jallet gets his clearance right this time! A very dangerous ball from Parejo skips across PSG's six yard line, and the experienced full-back manages to hook the delivery clear!
20'
Oh dear, miscue from Banega! Jallet makes a mess of a clearing header, and gifts possession to the Argentine midfielder, who can only fire a bobbling effort past Sirigu's post!
19'
Very lively opening to the game so far! Both teams are moving the ball quickly and with intent - Valencia certainly need to get a goal back as soon as possible, otherwise this game could get away from them!
17'
PSG are just beginning to get into their stride now. Ibrahimovic is already proving to be valuable, as the colossal Swede can switch play at will, his distribution so far has been fantastic.
15'
Pereira bombs forward down the right, and the full back tries to feed Soldado with a channel ball, but the Valencia striker is easily muscled off the ball.
13'
Rami gets up highest for a Valencia corner, but he fails to make any strong contact on the ball. The hosts are very unfortunate to be behind.
12'
That just shows why PSG could go a long way in this tournament! Despite not having the best of the opening exchanges, Ancelotti's men are ahead through a moment of quality from Lavezzi to skip through the hosts defence!
10'
E. Lavezzi has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by J. Pastore.
GOAL! LAVEZZI! The Argentine winger skips past two challenges, and absolutely smashes the ball home from 10 yards out! The goalkeeper has really made a poor effort to save that, it has gone straight through his hands!
9'
OOH! LUCAS! He's hit the post! From around 30 yards out, the former Sao Paulo man lashes a sweet strike across Guaita in the Valencia net, but it rattles off the inside of the post! Unlucky!
8'
The hosts are definitely the first to find their rhythm. PSG are yet to be troubled, with Sirigu only being called into action to claim an early cross. With so many top class players, however, it's highly possible that PSG could win the game from one moment of genius.
6'
It's already clear to see that Soldado will have to work hard to find space tonight, the lone striker cuts a small figure against the likes of Alex and Sakho, who can share Soldado between them.
5'
So far, this has been a midfield contest. Both teams have managed to grow accustomed to the ball with some spells of possession, but both sides have also misplaced a few passes. Things are definitely still settling down!
3'
I think Lucas should be alright, I predict we'll be seeing him on the pitch again in not too long! Cagey start to the game.
2'
Lucas Moura is down injured within the opening two minutes. He stayed down after landing awkwardly on his ankle, that might well swell up!
1'
And we are underway! With these two teams meeting for the first time in competitive action, this game should be very interesting!
Hello, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of Valencia vs PSG, in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg!
I'm Simon Harrison, and I shall be keeping you up to date with proceedings at Mestalla Stadium, as the stars of an expensive PSG side look to get a favourable away result in Spain.
PSG come into the game on a five match winning streak and in good form, whereas Valencia have recently been faltering and have only picking up two wins out of their last five. The form book can often be thrown out of the window in the Champions League, however!
The Champions League anthem rings out in the evening air, and we are minutes away from kick-off now!
Ancelotti's men have definitely done what has been asked of them in the first half. Sirigu remains untested, and Soldado isolated, as the deep back four of PSG with their shield of Matuidi and Verratti holds firm. Such a foundation has allowed the likes of Lavezzi, Lucas and Ibrahimovic to roam freely and they have done so to devastating effect.
Lucas Moura has been fantastic so far for the away side. He's unlucky not to have scored himself, after hitting the post, and was heavily involved in his side's second goal.
There's the half time whistle! What a dream half for the away side! Despite plenty of Valencia possession, PSG are leading 2-0 at the Mestalla thanks to Lavezzi and Pastore! Pereira has been the only saving grace for the home side, who are sinking without any real trace!
That's it! Final whistle! After late drama, the game ends 2-1 to PSG, who end the game with ten men due to Ibrahimovic's late sending off!
Ancelotti will not be a happy men! His side held out until the final few minutes, defending fantastically, but now Valencia have something to play for in Paris!
Wow, that was a great deal of late drama! From a commanding position, there will now be an air of uncertainty around the next leg - could Valencia turn this deficit around?
Thanks for tuning in to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of PSG's 2-1 away win over Valencia in the Champions League round of 16. Goals from Lavezzi and Pastore looked to give the visitors an unassailable lead, but a stoppage time consolation from Rami may have given Valencia a way back into the tie.
I've been Simon Harrison, and I hope that I have kept you all suitably updated in tonight's dramatic Champions League action! Enjoy your evening and I'll catch you again later!
