Despite that, the referee blows the final whistle after one minute of added time to bring Barca's miserable evening to a close!
90'
We're into added time here at Camp Nou. The fourth official has signalled for three extra minutes.
88'
BAYERN ARE SEARCHING FOR A FOURTH! Rafinha bursts into the Barca penalty area to latch on to Robben's nonchalant flicked through ball, but the full-back mishits his shot and the ball rips into the side netting of Valdes' goal.
87'
Martín Montoya enters the game and replaces Marc Bartra.
86'
Alexis shimmies towards the Bayern box on the left but he is crowded out by Rafinha and Gustavo.
85'
That Dortmund-Gotze-Lewandowski-Bayern narrative is enthralling. What a game that will be at Wembley on May 25!
84'
There has never been an all-German final in the Champions League before. But – bar the worst collapse in the history of any sport – that is what we will have this year.
83'
Thiago and van Buyten are down in the Bayern area after clashing heads. Medical staff from both teams have rushed on to the pitch to treat them.
81'
BARTRA HEADS JUST OVER! It says something about Barcelona's performance over two legs that their inexperienced centre-back has had their best chances to score. In the first leg he was through one-on-one with Neuer and fluffed his chance, and tonight he has missed the target with two headers.
80'
Barca win a corner on the left. Can they salvage some late pride here?!
Minute
Description
78'
Piqué gets yellow.
Pique picks up a yellow card after flying into the back of Muller near the byline on the right. Should Barcelona score eight in the last 12 minutes, Pique would miss the final.
77'
Rafinha enters the game and replaces P. Lahm.
That makes the score 7 (SEVEN)-0 on aggregate. An unbelievable scoreline.
76'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
MULLER ADDS A THIRD!! BAYERN ARE RAMPANT!! The Germany international nods the ball past Valdes at the back post after he is picked out by a great cross from Ribery. The winger rinsed Song for pace on the left before digging out the pass there!
74'
A. Tymoshchuk enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Bayern have taken off Martinez and brought on Anatoliy Tymoshchuk. That is a smart move from Heynckes. Martinez has been fantastic tonight, and deserves to play in the final. If he had been booked in the last 15 minutes here he would have been suspended for it.
72'
Piqué is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
BAYERN GO 2-0 UP!! AN OWN GOAL FROM PIQUE!! Gustavo feeds Ribery on the left, who is allowed to ghost into the box by Alves, and the France international flicks a cross towards goal that Pique slashes into his own net.
71'
So, it doesn't look like we are going to see Senor Messi tonight, and to be honest I can't blame Vilanova. There is no point bringing him on now, this game is over.
70'
Martinez roams forward from midfield for the Bavarian giants before slipping a pass into the slipstream of Robben. The Dutch speedster takes the ball in his stride and tries to shift it on to his left foot to shoot but he is dispossessed by a tackle from Bartra.
69'
Thiago and Song move the ball well on the right before Pique hangs a decent pass out to Alves. The Brazilian right-back hooks a cross into the penalty area, but Boateng is able to head it away under little pressure.
68'
The home side are chasing Bayern in possession. If anything the Germans look like the home team as we approach the 70-minute mark.
67'
Luiz Gustavo enters the game and replaces B. Schweinsteiger.
STAT: Barcelona have lost just once in 26 home games this season, falling 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey in February. It looks like that number might be doubled tonight.
65'
Thiago Alcântara enters the game and replaces Andrés Iniesta.
Off goes Iniesta, and on comes Thiago for the home side.
64'
Iniesta smashes a shot towards goal from 25 yards but van Buyten is suitably placed to block the strike and deflect the ball away.
63'
Barca look set to make their second change as Thiago prepares himself on the sidelines.
62'
A driven pass from Alves is nodded down by Fabregas on the left, but there are no Barca players there to collect the ball.
60'
Alaba pushes forward from left back for the visitors and fires a low effort towards Valdes' goal, but it is some way from testing the Spaniard, as the ball rolls out for a goal kick.
59'
Even Iniesta and Xavi are misplacing passes! I thought it felt a bit premature when people were hailing an end of an era after last week's 4-0 win for Bayern, but maybe they're right. Since Pep left, and without Messi, Barca look plain.
57'
Congratulations to @PrasanthJA. He was the first person to correctly answer my teaser from a few minutes ago. It was Jupp Heynckes, the current Bayern coach, that managed Monchengladbach when Madrid beat them 4-0 in stunning circumstances at the Bernabeu in 1986.
56'
STAT: Robben is the first Dutch player to score against Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League since Philip Cocu for PSV all the way back in 1997.
55'
A. Sánchez enters the game and replaces Xavi.
ANOTHER CHANCE FOR BAYERN! Robben sidefoots a volley wide of the right-hand post after Ribery had blazed down the left and clipped a cross to his teammate.
54'
An uncharacteristic foul from Iniesta on Muller gifts Bayern possession in the form of a free kick.
53'
STAT: Only three clubs have ever overturned four-goal deficits in European competitions, with the most famous comeback of that size being in 1986 when Real Madrid thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 at the Bernabeu after losing 5-1 in Germany. A virtual high five and a mention on here to the first person who can tell me who was managing Monchengladbach that day? Answers on a postcard/tweet to @charliefscott.
51'
Iniesta slips a pass to Villa 30 yards from the Bayern goal, but the striker takes far too long to decide whether to pass or shoot, and when he eventually opts for the latter it is easily blocked by a Bayern defender.
50'
As a former employee of Barcelona's fierce rivals I am sure Robben will have enjoyed that goal immensely!
48'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by D. Alaba.
UPDATE: Schweinsteiger looks fine! He's just gone hurtling down the right wing and won a free kick after pushing the ball past Adriano.
GAME OVER! THAT IS A MARVELOUS GOAL FROM ROBBEN!! The former Real Madrid man cuts on to his favoured left foot on the right after receiving a cross field ball from Alaba, before curling a vicious effort into the far corner beyond the dive of Valdes.
47'
Interesting that Schweinsteiger was wincing as he jogged back on to the pitch for the second half. The German enforcer was caught by Alves at the very end of the first half, perhaps that tackle was worse than it looked.
46'
Barca get us back underway here at Camp Nou. No changes at the interval to report for either side.
45' +1
Dani Alves gets yellow.
And that is the last action of the half as the referee blows his whistle.
45'
A crunching challenge from Alves on Schweinsteiger brings a Bayern attacking crashing to a close. The Brazilian is limping as he gets up, but that doesn't stop the referee from showing him a yellow card.
44'
Some good attacking play from Adriano down the left is wasted by his Barca teammates, as none of them attack the back post to meet his whipped cross.
43'
The home side are finishing this half strongly, but their final pass is still lacking. Iniesta has just thrown the ball into the feet of Fabregas inside the penalty area, only for the former Arsenal captain to volley the ball out for a goal kick with his first touch.
41'
Adriano bursts forward from the halfway line and is allowed to get a shot away, but the Brazilian full-back drags his effort and Neuer is able to stop the shot.
40'
A swarm of red shirts surround Alves as he attempts to drive into the Bayern box from his position on the right, and he soon loses the ball.
39'
STAT: Messi has scored 58 goals and supplied 16 assists in 48 games in all competitions for the Blaugrana this season. Half-time sub?
37'
Those two will have spent many a training session together with the national team, and from the way Martinez dealt with that situation he appears more equipped than most to play against and stifle the threat of Iniesta.
36'
VERY GOOD DEFENDING FROM MARTINEZ! The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder steps across Iniesta to block the Barca player's route to goal, and eventually draws a foul from him to win Bayern a free kick.
35'
Where have these really hard-working Bayern wingers come from? Robben and Ribery have both completed tackles deep in their own half already tonight, and last week I saw them both win headers inside the Bayern penalty area. Leopards do change their spots by the looks of things.
34'
NEARLY superb from Iniesta. The Spain international dances through a herd of Bayern defenders and sets himself to shoot on his left foot, but his low strike is blocked by Boateng.
33'
They can take hope from that statistic, perhaps?
32'
A. Robben gets yellow.
STAT: Barcelona have won their last 10 home games against German sides and have a home record of won 19, drawn one and lost six against Bundesliga teams.
31'
Fabregas and Xavi nearly make me look stupid as they play a couple of neat passes to one another inside the Bayern box, but there is Mr Dependable, Phillip Lahm, who has abandoned his right-back position to put in a fantastic tackle on Fabregas 10 yards out.
29'
Bayern are looking comfortable here. The work rate of all their players is truly exemplary (even Robben and Ribery), and it is really limiting Barcelona going forward. The Catalan side are already resorting to shots from distance and crosses from deep.
28'
There were suggestions that Fabregas handled the ball in the build-up to that chance but replays show he controlled the ball on his chest.
27'
XAVI VOLLEYS OVER!! The metronomic midfielder has a brilliant chance to make it 1-0 after the ball falls invitingly to him inside the box but his volley from six yards flies over the crossbar.
26'
ANOTHER BACK PASS TO VALDES! The Barca goalkeeper has to use his feet to control the ball on this occasion, after Bartra flicks it back to him with Mandzukic and Muller hot on heels.
25'
The resulting corner is dealt with well by the away side's defence, as van Buyten hits the ball up field.
24'
GREAT SAVE FROM NEUER! The Bayern goalkeeper springs to his left to tip Pedro's rising strike over the bar, after the Barca forward decided he'd try his luck from distance.
23'
Vilanova is up on his feet and pacing his technical area. He won't be that impressed with his side's start tonight. With four goals needed to even take the match to extra time, he will be hoping they score at least one before the break.
22'
STAT: Bayern are on a 17-match winning run away from home across all competitions.
21'
BRAVE FROM VALDES! The Barca goalkeeper charges off his line to hack the ball away from danger, after the linesman had allowed Javi Martinez to hook a high pass forward despite the ball clearly going out of play on the right.
19'
Phillip Lahm is the best right-back in the world. He's probably the best left-back too. The Germany captain has been pushing forward down the right for his side in this first half to good effect, and has also put in some great tackles on the likes of Iniesta and Fabregas.
18'
STAT: Thomas Muller had ran 114km in the Champions League this season before kick-off tonight, which is more than any other Bayern player.
17'
Bayern have started this match brilliantly, particularly when you consider the position that Barcelona are in. They have to push forward, and they have to score goals, but Bayern are not giving them enough time to even think when they get the ball, let alone pass their way through the Bundesliga side's defence.
16'
CLEARLY A FOUL FROM BARTRA!! Ribery draws a foul from the Barcelona defender after trying to play a neat one-two with Mandzukic on the left-hand side.
15'
Dani Alves does well to find space on the right and receive possession for Barca, but his cross towards Fabregas at the back post is not firm enough, and it takes a deflection off van Buyten and bounces up field to safety.
13'
BRILLIANT RECOVERY FROM PIQUE! The Barca centre-back races back to block Robben's shot inside his own penalty area after the former Chelsea man had sprinted through on the right.
12'
I want to hear your scoreline predictions! Hurl them over to me on Twitter at @charliefscott.
11'
Xavi swings the set piece on to the head of Marc Bartra only for the young defender to direct his header miles over Manuel Neuer's crossbar. Disappointing from the centre-back! He missed a glorious chance to score an away goal last week too.
10'
An accidental handball from Robben results in a free kick over on the left for the home side.
9'
Bayern win a set piece on the left that Schweinsteiger floats towards Muller at the back post, but the German forward is put off by a challenge from Adriano.
8'
A dangerous pass forward from Fabregas is taken on by David Villa, but his turn inside van Buyten takes the ball too close to the Belgian, and he is able to flick the ball away.
7'
STAT: Damir Skomina, the referee this evening, has never officiated in a Barcelona game before.
6'
Andres Iniesta puts in a good tackle just outside the Barca box to steal the ball from Ribery at a vital moment. The France international was just about to turn into the penalty area!
5'
SURELY THAT'S A PASS-BACK TO VALDES? Alves clearly nicks the ball back to his goalkeeper on the edge of his own penalty area under pressure from Mandzukic, but the referee turns a blind eye as Valdes gathers it in his arms.
4'
The Bavarian giants surrender possession with a poor set piece though, as Barca begin to start stringing some passes together.
3'
Bayern win a free kick of their own over on the right as Adriano nudges Arjen Robben in the back as the two tussle to win a high ball.
2'
Possession pinballs between the two sides in the centre of the pitch, as neither team's midfield manage to control the ball in the opening couple of minutes.
1'
Mandzukic gets the match underway for Bayern with one of his Croatia flag-emblazoned boots. Barca quickly catch Thomas Muller offside as Pique steps up to win the free kick.
My name is Charlie Scott and I'll be providing you with colourful updates as the game unfolds over in Spain. You can get in touch with me at any point tonight by sending your views to me on Twitter @charliefscott, or by posting them in the box to the right of this commentary.
So, basically, Barca need to score five and not concede tonight, against arguably the best ever Bayern team... Any of you out there think that's going to happen?
The Blaugrana's task has been made all the more difficult by the news that one of their forwards is unable to start the game... I've got both starting XIs coming right up!
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Valdes; Alves, Pique, Bartra, Adriano; Xavi, Song, Iniesta; Pedro, Fabregas, Villa
SUBS: Pinto, Montoya, Thiago, Dos Santos, Alexis, Messi, Tello
NO MESSI FOR BARCA! The Argentine is only on the bench! That news is a big blow to the Liga giants as they aim to overhaul Bayern's four-goal lead from last week. Cesc Fabregas starts in the centre of their front three in the Ballon d'Or winner's absence, with David Villa and Pedro accompanying him in attack.
Messi joins a long list of players unable to make the starting XI for the home side. Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Carlos Puyol were all already out through injury, while Jordi Alba is suspended. Alex Song starts in place of Busquets in central midfield, while Marc Bartra continues at centre-back in place of Puyol and Adriano starts at left-back instead of Alba.
There is just one surprise in Jupp Heyckes' Bayern side, as Dante is replaced by Daniel van Buyten in the centre of their defence, with the Brazilian ruled out because of flu. Their only other change is upfront, where one Mario makes way for another as Mandzukic returns from suspension to replace Gomez.
I'm in suspense ahead of kick-off, are you? A few players are walking on a suspension tightrope tonight too. Bayern boast an impressive six who are just one booking away from missing the final should they get there.
Those six are: Mario Gomez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez, Dante, Luiz Gustavo and Philipp Lahm.
Barca, meanwhile, have two players on the brink of a ban: Gerard Pique and Alex Song.
Song has cut his hair for the occasion! The Cameroon international has a short back and sides number going on for tonight.
HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 0-0 BAYERN (Agg 0-4) The Catalan giants haven't shown much fight so far, despite trailing by four going into this game. Heynckes' side have again pressed their opponents brilliantly. It is a sign of a team's fantastic work ethos when even Ribery and Robben are tracking back and making challenges deep in their own half. Still no sign of Messi. Surely Vilanova will make changes at the break? Remember, his side need at least four goals!
Barcelona have had 59 per cent possession and completed 340 passes in the first half, but Bayern have looked more dangerous. The home side's makeshift back line looks particularly susceptible to Bayern's speed on the break.
Interesting music choices at half-time in Camp Nou. First One Direction, then Owl City...
Before kick-off I compared Barcelona's task here to climbing Mount Everest. 45 minutes in, and with the game at 0-0, how would you describe it? Send your efforts to me @charliefscott and the best will get a mention in this commentary.
FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 0-3 BAYERN (AGG 0-7) Jupp Heynckes' team racked up an emphatic 7-0 aggregate win over Barcelona with a dominant performance at Camp Nou this evening. The Bundesliga side were in control of the two-legged tie from start to finish. Barcelona had it all to do tonight to try and overturn Bayern's four-goal lead from last week, but as it happened Tito Vilanova's side went out of the competition with a whimper. A brilliant strike from Robben opened the scoring for Bayern tonight, before an own goal from Pique and a late header from Muller completed the rout.
So, there we have it. Barcelona were outclassed and outpassed over the two legs against Bayern, with the German side now facing their fellow Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley on May 25.
Thank you very much for joining me guys and girls. It's been a blast! What a performance that was from Bayern Munich! Good bye.
