Good skill from Musa as he gets to the dead-ball line and centres. No Nigerian player is able to take the shooting chance and it ends with Oduamedi firing over.
88'
ALMOST ANOTHER FOR TAHITI!!! Jonathan Tehau is a whisker away from a second goal as he meets Aitamai's long ball with a glancing header that just goes wide of the post.
86'
Every single red shirt is back in the Tahiti half as they look to see out the game without conceding another.
84'
Ambrose whips in an inviting cross but Brown Ideye can't get a touch on it. into the final few minutes now.
82'
Efe Ambrose heads Oduamadi's corner wide as Nigeria search for a seventh. Tahiti have completely run out of steam.
80'
E. Echiejile has scored a goal for Nigeria! Assist by A. Musa.
GOOAAALLL!!! SIX FOR NIGERIA!!! If the first was dubious, this one is certainly Echiejile's goal. Samin can only palm a cross into the middle of the box, and Echiejile pounces on Musa's poor touch to slot home.
78'
Why hasn't he shot there? Brown Ideye is given the freedom of the Tahiti box after the offside trap fails for the umpteenth time this evening. He tries to round Samin instead of slotting home and loses the chance. Poor decision from Ideye.
77'
E. Lemaire enters the game and replaces V. Simon.
76'
N. Oduamadi has scored a goal for Nigeria! Assist by B. Ideye.
GOOAAAALLLL!!!! ODUAMADI GETS HIS HAT-TRICK!! Better from Ideye and finally Oduamadi has his third. Ideye springs the offside trap and races into the area before rolling the ball across the face of goal for a simple tap in.
74'
A. Egwuekwe enters the game and replaces K. Omeruo.
Brown Ideye hasn't been able to solve Nigeria's ineptness in front of goal tonight. In all honesty he's probably added to it. He's at it again with a heavy touch, wasting a three on one opportunity.
Minute
Description
72'
Maram Vahirua is of for Tahiti. The only professional in the South Pacific side is probably being rested for the mammoth task of facing Spain and Uruguay in the coming week.
70'
S. Atani enters the game and replaces M. Vahirua.
Yet more wasteful finishing from Nigeria. Ogude's effort is well blocked by Samin but Oduamadi should be completing his hat-trick with the follow up. Instead he blasts over.
68'
J. Tehau is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOOAAAALLLL!!! TEHAU SCORES AT THE WRONG END!! Another unfortunate goal to concede for the islanders. He turns the ball into his own net with Brown Ideye breathing down his neck.
66'
Oduamadi has the ball in the net but he won't be collecting the match ball just yet as he turns in Musa's low cross from an offside position.
64'
The Tahitian goalkeeper Samin is growing with confidence as the game goes on, which is great to see after is earlier mistake. He gets down bravely to take Musa's low cross with a number of white and red shirts surrounding him.
62'
Nigeria's bench is a scene of desolation. Stephen Keshi, the Nigerian coach, looks completely unamused by what he is witnessing. As it stands, his side are losing a half of football to Tahiti.
60'
I'm not sure Tahiti are done here either! Simon takes down a wonderful raking cross-field pass and cuts back to cross. It's cleared by the first man but the men in red are on top of the world just now.
58'
I think everyone in the crowd celebrated that Tahiti goal. The noise that met it was fantastic. An unbelievable moment for them that will probably go down in the islands folklore!
56'
Brown Ideye rounds Samin after a lovely pass from Mikel but even he cannot finish, falling over his own feet as he tries to get the shot away from a tight angle.Musa was completely free at the back post as well.
55'
J. Ogu enters the game and replaces S. Mba.
54'
S. Faatiarau enters the game and replaces N. Vallar.
J. Tehau has scored a goal for Tahiti! Assist by M. Vahirua.
GOOOAAALLLL!!!! TEHAU FOR TAHITI!!! What a moment for the minnows! Jonathan Tehau rises like a salmon at the back stick to nod home Vahirua's corner. Out comes the rowing celebration and wild scenes on the Tahiti bench!
52'
B. Ideye enters the game and replaces A. Ujah.
Nigeria finally make that change that looked to be happening at the break. Brown Ideye replaces Ujah up top.
51'
Vahirua certainly looks the part in Tahiti's midfield. He plays a lovely ball through for Chong Hue but it's just too far ahead of the winger to beat Enyeama to the ball.
49'
What an awful finish from Musa! Nigeria open up Tahiti early in the second half and Oduamadi finds Musa in acres of space at the back post. He takes a touch and opens his body to curl the ball beyond Samin, but his effort goes hopelessly wide. Wasteful again from the Africans.
48'
Simon looks to be struggling for Tahiti. He's limping heavily with no Nigerian around him. It seemed to be after an aerial challenge with Mba, but there was no contact. Cramp?
46'
Nigeria get us back underway for the second half. It looks as though they're about to make a substitution as well. Although why they didn't make it at half-time is anyone's guess.
45'
Nigeria break just as the half comes to an end. They win a corner and Ujah rises highest to meet it, but can't get his header on target.
43'
The free kick is floated just over the bar from Vahirua, but moments later, Tahiti have their best chance! Aitamai finally gets his crossing right and sends in a fizzing cross for Chong Hue, who can't quite get enough on the ball to divert it goalwards.
41'
K. Omeruo gets yellow.
Chong Hue has had an impressive first half and he forces Omeruo into a foul on the edge of his own area. Omeruo is booked and the islanders have a dangerous looking free kick.
40'
Just five minutes left of the first half. Can Tahiti do anything in these final minutes?
38'
Sunday Mba, Nigeria, AFCON hero, has the opportunity to make it four. He has tonnes of time in the area but slips as he goes to shoot and Samin smothers.
36'
They may be 3-0 down but you can tell the French Polynesia islanders are up for this. They're still showing a load of attacking intent and are sticking to their tactics.
34'
Tahiti's high line works for once as Musa is flagged offside as he goes clean through. Eddy Etaeta's side are sticking with the offside trap despite their mixed fortunes so far.
32'
What a run from Chong Hue! The Tahiti midfielder shows fantastic pace to burst into the area. His cutback leaves an open goal as Enyeama commits himself, but no red shirt is there to meet the ball and Nigeria clear.
30'
Redemption for Samin!! Nigeria break past Tahiti's high line once more and Ujah is through one-on-one. He has Musa square but decides to go it alone and Samin makes a brave stop at the feet of the forward as he tries to round him. Great piece of keeping!
28'
This could get ugly now. Nigeria are through once more and only a dubious call from the linesman prevents Oduamadi from claiming a hat-trick as Musa is deemed to have let the ball roll out before he crosses.
26'
N. Oduamadi has scored a goal for Nigeria!
GOOOAAALLL!!! ODUAMADI GIFTED HIS SECOND!!! That has to go down as a howler from Samin unfortunately. Musa plays in an innocuous low cross which the keeper should gather easily. Instead, he spills the ball right at the feet of Oduamadi who gobbles up his second goal with a simple tap in.
24'
Again it's Tahiti who come forward but again the cross is a poor one. Some decent build up play involving Bourebare and Vahirua sees the ball played out wide to Aitamai but his cross is too high and too hard.
22'
Aitamai gets forward down the right and tries to swing in a cross but it's far too close to Enyeama. Still willing to get forward though Tahiti.
20'
John Obi Mikel lines up a free kick from around 25-yards out. It's not quite Andrea Pirlo-esque, but it wasn't too far away either, dipping just over the crossbar.
18'
Because of their spat over bonuses due to the squad, Nigeria didn't even arrive in Brazil until yesterday. They'll be grateful their first match isn't a more taxing one with only one training session under their belts.
16'
Tahiti are still trying to get forward. Vahirua is leading the charge but the lack of quality in their with him is glaring.
14'
Musa should make it three! He is clean through after meandering through the Tahiti back line. He then rounds the keeper but completely mishits his shot, skewing it horribly wide.
12'
It already looks a case of damage limitation for Tahiti. They started brightly but the calamitous nature of that first goals has rocked them.
10'
N. Oduamadi has scored a goal for Nigeria! Assist by A. Musa.
GOOAAALLL!!! ODUAMADI!! That was all too easy for the Nigerian forward. He skips through a couple of tackles after Tahiti give the ball away inside their own half. He then checks back inside before slotting home.
8'
Good effort from Vahirua! His dipping effort looks to have been touched over by Enyeama in the Nigeria goal, but the referee has only given a goal kick.
7'
That was a real hammer blow for the Oceania Nations Cup holders after a decent start. Can they respond?
5'
E. Echiejile has scored a goal for Nigeria!
GOOOALLL!!!! NIGERIA LEAD!!! That is cruel on Tahiti. First off their defensive clearance slams into the referee and fall kindly for Echiejile. He hits a speculative effort towards goal that is going well wide until it smacks off the shoulder of captain Vallar and into the net.
3'
First shot of the game and it's from Tahiti! Simon gets his shot away after cutting in from the left but it's a fairly tame effort and Enyeama gathers with ease.
1'
Tahiti kick us off then. They immediately play the ball out with a wayward pass. This could be a long 90 minutes.
Good evening and welcome to Goal's coverage of the Confederations Cup match between Nigeria and Tahiti. I'll be here to take you through all the thrills, spills and goals from Belo Horizonte. Expect a lot of them.
For all the superstars on show at this year's Confederations Cup in Brazil, a lot of buzz has been caused by the minnows from the South Pacific. Tahiti isn't even a country, yet they find themselves rubbing shoulders with the top footballing nations this week.
With only one professional in their entire squad, it looks a huge task for the island side based in French Polynesia. In fact, their hopes for the tournament confirm this. Coach Eddy Etaeta has admited that keeping a clean sheet in any half during the tournament would be a huge achievement. A goal would be almost unthinkable.
Nigeria, on the other hand, are no strangers to the professional scene. They will be expecting nothing less than a big victory tonight, despite their own team troubles that almost saw them boycott the tournament. We aren't far from kick off so let's quickly get some team news.
HALF-TIME: TAHITI 0-3 NIGERIA. The Super Eagles are already home and hosed but the islanders have put up more of a fight than most of us thought they had in them. An own goal and Oduamadi's double have Nigeria firmly in the driving seat but Tahiti will come out with the belief they can nick a goal in the second half.
Nigeria bossed most statistics in that half, as you would expect. However Tahiti still managed five shots in the first half. Can they make any efforts count in the second?
FULL-TIME: TAHITI 1-6 NIGERIA. Remember the name Jonathan Tehau! The Tahiti defender provided the moment of the night when he netted the first goal of the second half and despite the final result the islanders must be thrilled with their exploits tonight.
That's it from me Harry Slavin. Nigeria secured the big win expected of them but it's Tahiti who are in dreamland tonight. Remember, you can follow all the Confederations Cup action on Goal, with your next slice of action coming on Wednesday. Until then, goodbye!
