The referee draws a close to the Dortmund onslaught by blowing the whistle bang on the 90-minute mark.
89'
O. Sorg gets yellow.
The Dortmund fans are in a buoyant mood at Signal Iduna Park as the final whistle nears.
88'
The only thing that looks like happening in the final few minutes here is Dortmund adding a sixth. Subotic has a chance to do just that when a Sahin free kick falls invitingly to him in the box but his effort is blocked well.
85'
They immediately surrender possession after taking the set piece short though, as Sahin makes amends for giving away the foul by winning the ball from Fernandes.
84'
Sahin is penalised for a foul on Hohn and Freiburg have a free kick 40 yards from the Dortmund goal.
81'
And now Hummels is trying to get in on the act! The centre-back meanders forward from centre-back and lets fly from distance, but his effort rifles into the stands rather than the back of the net.
79'
J. Błaszczykowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
KUBA MAKES IT FIVE!! The substitute holds off the challenge of Gunter on the edge of the box before dribbling past Baumann and slotting the ball into the far corner from a tight angle. Dortmund are rampant here, and the scoreline reflects their dominance.
77'
Dortmund are streaming forward in search of a fifth goal here. Freiburg's defence is all over the place!
75'
Aubameyang misses another chance! The attacker's finishing appears to have deserted him today as he wastes another gilt-edged opportunity to make the net ripple with a wayward effort.
74'
K. Guédé enters the game and replaces S. Freis.
Minute
Description
72'
Elsewhere at the top of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have taken a 1-0 lead against Wolfsburg thanks to a goal from Thomas Muller.
70'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by J. Hofmann.
LEWANDOWSKI MAKES IT 4-0!! The home team extend their lead courtesy of their supposedly wantaway striker. He does brilliantly to stretch out his left leg and divert Hofmann's lofted cross past Baumann after the Dortmund substitute had ghosted past the challenge of Gunter. The Freiburg goalkeeper looks distraught – his defence have really fallen apart since Diagne's sending off.
69'
AUBAMEYANG SLIPS A SHOT JUST WIDE! The Gabon international slots an effort the wrong side of the right-hand post after bursting past the challenge of Sorg on the left side of the Freiburg box.
68'
A quick-fire one-two between Kirch and Durm nearly results in a goalscoring opportunity, but Baumann is alert to the danger and races from his line to seize the ball.
66'
N. Höfler enters the game and replaces J. Schuster.
Off goes the Freiburg captain Schuster to be replaced by Nicolas Hofler. The midfielder has been off the pace today, and has really struggled to keep up with Sahin and Kirch since the interval.
Aubameyang fires a long-range effort at goal that Baumann pats down comfortably. Simple stuff for the Freiburg goalkeeper.
62'
J. Błaszczykowski enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
J. Hofmann enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
Reus is given a deserved standing ovation by the home fans as he is replaced by Jonas Hofmann. The Germany international has been superb today, scoring twice for the league leaders. Jakub Blaszczykowski also comes on for the final half an hour, as Mkhitaryan makes way.
59'
3-0 to the hosts now, and the way they are playing in this second half I can only see that gap widening.
58'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Reus.
WHAT A FINISH FROM LEWANDOWSKI! The Polish striker controls a high pass from Reus well inside the box, turns past the challenge of Ginter, before lifting a sumptuous effort over Baumann and into the back of the net. Wonderful play from the Dortmund striker!
55'
Reus drifts into the box on the left and cuts the ball back to no-one, but Freiburg fail to adequately clear the ball which gives Durm the chance to lash a half volley towards goal that is deflected out for a corner. Dortmund look rampant here. How long will it be before they add a third?
54'
Grosskreutz is playing a key role for the hosts at the start of the first half. After firing a long-range effort at goal he has just raced to the byline and played an inviting cross into the area that none of his team-mates managed to take advantage of.
52'
ELSEWHERE IN THE BUNDESLIGA UPDATE: Second-placed Bayern Munich are currently being held 0-0 at home by Woflsburg, which means Dortmund are two points clear at the top as things stand.
50'
Grosskreutz unleashes a fierce effort at goal from 35 yards but it fails to reach its intended target of the top left corner because of a brave block from Ginter.
48'
Bender appeared to pick up a knock early on when he fell awkwardly after jumping to win the ball in the air, and it seems Klopp is taking no risks with the midfielder by replacing him with Kirch for the second half.
47'
Both sides made one change at the break, as Bender was replaced by Oliver Kirch for Dortmund, and the disappointing Coquelin made way for Immanuel Hohn for the visitors.
46'
O. Kirch enters the game and replaces S. Bender.
I. Höhn enters the game and replaces F. Coquelin.
Freiburg get the second half underway here at Signal Iduna Park!
45' +3
And there is the half-time whistle. What drama at the end of the first half!
45' +2
Penalty goal scored by M. Reus for Borussia Dortmund!
GREAT PENALTY FROM REUS!! DORTMUND LEAD 2-0! The attacking midfielder whips the spot-kick into the bottom left corner and past the despairing dive of Baumann.
45' +1
F. Diagne goes off after a red card!
RED CARD FOR DIAGNE!! The Freiburg centre-back is off after pulling Lewandowski to the floor inside the area. The visitors are down to 10 and Dortmund have a penalty and a chance to make it 2-0 just before the break.
44'
Mehmedi bustles his way into the Dortmund penalty area, which by my reckoning is Freiburg's first foray into that particular part of the pitch. The move breaks down shortly after though, as Erik Durm steps across the attacker and steals the ball.
43'
Klopp is urging his side to push forward as the first half draws to a close. The Dortmund coach can sense that Freiburg are there for the taking.
41'
That Schmid free kick aside it has been one-way traffic in this first half. The visitors have been seriously lacking in ideas when they have got the ball into Dortmund's half.
40'
REUS FLASHES AN EFFORT WIDE! The Germany international attempts an ambitious strike from distance that swings just the wrong side of the left-hand post.
39'
BAUMANN IS KEEPING HIS SIDE IN IT!! More heroics from the Freiburg goalkeeper as he throws himself in front of two more close-range efforts from Lewandowski. Dortmund are slicing through the away side's defence at will as we edge towards half-time .
37'
Jonathan Schmid wastes a great opportunity to test Weidenfeller from a free kick after Coquelin had been fouled by Sahin, but the Freiburg winger's set piece is poor and clips the top of the wall before bouncing away.
35'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
GOALLLLL!!! REUS BREAKS THE DEADLOCK! Dortmund go 1-0 up thanks to a neat dinked finish from Reus after Baumann had done brilliantly to save Lewandowski's close-range effort. The ball rolled to Reus after the Poland international's shot was kept out well by Baumann, but the Freiburg goalkeeper could do nothing about the German's well-weighted chip from 12 yards.
34'
Freiburg are trying to keep up with the pace of Dortmund's play in the midfield area but at times it has been just too much for Fernandes and Julian Schuster.
32'
Aubameyang has raced through on goal twice in as many minutes, after some slack defending from the Freiburg back line. Fortunately for them the Gabonese attacker's finishing has not been as clinical as we have seen so far this season. After 32 minutes here the score remains 0-0.
30'
MORE ALERT GOALKEEPING FROM BAUMANN! The Freiburg No.1 rushes from his line to put pressure on Aubameyang, and his quick-thinking does the job as the Dortmund forward's flicked effort cannons off the goalkeeper before being cleared behind by the recovering Diagne.
29'
GOOD SAVE FROM BAUMANN! The Freiburg goalkeeper thwarts Mkhitaryan with a decent stop low to his left after the former Shaktar Donetsk forward had created a pocket of space for himself to get a shot away from 18 yards.
27'
Sorg hurls a long throw into the box, which is questionable when Subotic and Hummels are waiting patiently to mop up anything that comes their way in the air. Freis never looked like winning that particular battle against Hummels.
26'
Fernandes has exerted some good pressure on Dortmund's midfield in the last five minutes or so, and he is starting to demand the ball from his team-mates as the visitors look to be in the ascendancy.
24'
I'm not quite sure how Admir Mehmedi has won a free kick there! Bender barely touched the Freiburg forward but he threw himself to the floor with a yelp before completing a series of well-executed rolls.
23'
Grosskreutz goes marauding down the right for the hosts before being stopped in his tracks by a far better timed challenge from Gunter.
22'
Dortmund win a free kick on the halfway line following a fairly manic challenge from Christian Gunter on Aubameyang. Correct decision from the referee, that tackle was high and late.
20'
Freiburg go straight up the other end and fashion their first clear chance of the game, but Sebastian Freis' driven effort is far too close to Roman Weidenfeller and the Dortmund goalkeeper gathers the ball comfortably.
18'
AND THAT WAS NEARLY IT! Lewandowski flicks the ball over the head of Ginter on the right side of the penalty area before prodding an instinctive effort towards goal that flies just over the bar. That was close to being the breakthrough for the hosts!
17'
The Dortmund fans are in fine voice as ever at Signal Iduna Park, despite there being little to cheer about when it comes to the performance of their team in the opening 17 minutes. This game needs something or someone to spark it into life!
16'
Reus takes the resulting corner, but it fails to find a team-mate and Freiburg are able to clear the ball away quite easily.
15'
Oooo, that's a great chance for Mkhitaryan! A super touch from Lewandowski cushions a curling pass from Reus into the attacking midfielder's path, but his venomous half volley is deflected behind for a corner via the chest of Matthias Ginter.
14'
Oliver Sorg is beginning to see some of the ball on the right-hand side for Streich's side as they look to get a hold on the ball in this first half. They have started moving the ball far more confidently, but without making much headway in terms of testing Dortmund's defence.
12'
Bender catches the former Manchester City starlet Gelson Fernandes just inside the Freiburg half, and the referee awards the visitors a free-kick for the offence.
11'
No chances of note for either side so far. Lewandowski did race onto a chipped pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan a few moments ago only to be flagged up for offside by the official on the far side.
10'
Baumann urges his team-mates to move into space as he takes a goal kick, but his calls land on empty ears, and his driven pass falls on the head of an unchallenged Mats Hummels.
8'
The visitors have made a quiet start to the game as Dortmund have dominated possession, barely allowing them a sniff of the ball.
7'
Bender sprays a delightful pass into the path of Kevin Grosskreutz, who appears to be playing at right-back for the hosts, but his pace lets him down on this occasion as Diagne glides across to put the ball out for a throw.
6'
Robert Lewandowski's first involvement is to drive at the heart of the Freiburg defence before being nudged off the ball by the considerable frame of Fallou Diagne. The defender has a tough task on his hands today monitoring the movement of Dortmund's vibrant front four.
4'
Marco Reus sweeps a corner onto the head of Subotic, but the centre-back's effort bounces a yard or so over Baumann's crossbar.
3'
The Germany international dusts himself down after a quick chat with one of the Dortmund physios though, and is able to continue for Klopp's side.
2'
Worrying signs for the hosts as Sven Bender crumples to the floor after landing awkwardly when challenging for the ball in the air.
1'
Dortmund get the ball rolling but soon lose possession when a wayward punt forward runs through to Oliver Baumann.
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to live coverage of the Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Freiburg at Signal Iduna Park, which sees the hosts try and extend their unbeaten start to the league campaign.
The away side, meanwhile, are looking to arrest a worrying slump in form that has seen them fail to win in the Bundesliga so far this season. They lie in 17th place going into this game.
Dortmund have had a fairly tumultuous week, what with reports eminating in the German press that their star striker Robert Lewandowski had agreed a move to their rivals Bayern Munich at the end of the season. A nervy extra-time win over 1860 Munich in the DFB-Pokal in midweek has also been a talking point.
Freiburg secured their first victory of the season in the cup against Stuttgart, and will be hoping to take encouragement from that performance against the league leaders this afternoon.
Without further ado, let's have a look at the starting XIs before kick-off...
DORTMUND TEAM NEWS: Marcel Schmelzer has been ruled out for three weeks with a thigh injury, so Kevin Grosskreutz fills in at left-back. Klopp makes two more changes from the side that struggled past 1860 Munich in the DFB-Pokal during the week, as Neven Subotic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also come in to the starting line-up.
FREIBURG TEAM NEWS: Christian Streich names a similar side to the one that beat Stuttgart earlier this week, with the inclusion of Francis Coquelin in midfield at the expense of Sebastian Kerk the only change.
We're just minutes away from kick-off over in Germany, as both sides maketheir way out onto the pitch at Signal Iduna Park.
HALF-TIME: DORTMUND 2-0 FREIBURG The visitors suffered a double blow late in the half as Diagne was dismissed for a cynical foul on Lewandowski and Reus dispatched the resulting penalty past Baumann to make it 2-0. The Germany international had put his side ahead midway through the first half with a calmly-taken dink over Baumann from inside the penalty area. The away side face a mammoth task if they want to get back into this match after the break. Two goals down and a man down, up against a very well-organised Dortmund side that look more than capable of adding to their tally.
FULL-TIME: DORTMUND 5-0 FREIBURG A rampant performance from Klopp's side secured all three points as Lewandowski and Reus both scored twice, before Kuba completed the five-goal rout late on. The hosts maintain their position at the top of the Bundesliga!
