Good evening and welcome to LIVE! commentary for this international friendly between England and Chile. My name is Tom Etherington and I'll be taking you through all the action at Wembley Stadium. This should be a close encounter, with just two places separating the sides in the FIFA World Rankings and both assured of a place at next year's World Cup.
England made sure of their ticket to Brazil with a 2-0 win over Poland last month, to edge out Ukraine by one point in Group H of the European qualifying process. Chile, meanwhile, finished third behind Argentina and Colombia in the South American standings.
Roy Hodgson's side are on an unbeaten run of 10 matches but have suffered a series of injury setbacks in the build-up to this match, with Steven Gerrard (hip) and Kyle Walker following Manchester United duo Michael Carrick (Achilles) and Danny Welbeck (knee) out of the squad.
Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli could be without Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal this evening, after he picked up a thigh injury during a 3-0 domestic victory over Napoli on Sunday.
The team news is already in so let's take a look at those starting line-ups...
So, Hodgson makes the most of his chance to experiment and hands Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez their international debuts. The Three Lions boss also gives goalkeeper Fraser Forster his first chance between the sticks, as Joe Hart drops to the bench.
Meanwhile, Chile have named a relatively strong team with Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez leading the line. Cardiff City's Gary Medel features in midfield and Wigan winger Jean Beausejour is also involved.
Frank Lampard is leading the hosts out at Wembley as he prepares to make his 103rd appearance for England. The Chelsea veteran is being presented with a golden cap by his father Frank snr and 1966 World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst to mark his achievement of becoming England's latest centurion.
The national anthems are over and we are moments away from kick-off.
Hodgson won't be too disappointed with his side so far as England have coped well after going behind to that early goal. Chile have played some very attractive football so this is a great chance to see how England fair against tricky opposition.
There will be changes in the second half and as Jay Rodriguez has failed to make an impact so far, he could make way for Andros Townsend or Ross Barkley as Hodgson tries to evaluate his whole squad.
The two teams are back out on the pitch for the second half.
Two substitutions for Chile but none for the hosts.
A brace from Alexis Sanchez is the difference for Chile as they leave the Wembley pitch victorious, after an England side containing three debutants struggled to keep up with the pace. It's a frustrating night for Roy Hodgson as he did not see much to make many decisions ahead of England's friendly with Germany on Tuesday.
Thanks for joining this LIVE text commentary with me Tom Etherington. Goodbye.
England 0-1 Chile. The visitors deservedly lead at the break after Alexis Sanchez's superb header in the seventh minute. Hodgson's side have looked sharp in places, with Wilshere and Lallana impressing, but failed to threaten in the final third.
