FULL TIME! This game ends with Real Madrid and Inter drawing 1-1, meaning that this friendly game will go to penalties in order to decide the winner! Goals from Bale and Icardi weren't enough to separate the two, but none of that matters now! Who can hold their nerve?
90' +1
Sobrino tries to pick out a white shirt at the back post with a cross-cum-shot, but nobody was on hand to turn home his delivery! We're into stoppage time and this is looking like a draw at the moment, but Real Madrid have won yet another free-kick in a dangerous area.
89'
A goalmouth scramble in the Inter penalty area results in M'Vila hacking the ball clear once again! Isco weaves his way towards the edge of the box after a poor pass from Carrizo, but Marcos Llorente is unable to pick out a telling ball from the right.
88'
Real Madrid whip in the resulting free-kick, but M'Vila is on hand at the back post to not take any chances and clear behind for a corner. The second set piece is fired in, but Vidic is at full stretch to head the ball away from his six-yard box.
86'
Carvajal breaks down the right-hand side, before going down under the challenge on Vidic on the edge of the penalty area. Juan Jesus went down moments earlier, with his knee looking to be the issue, but liberal amounts of spray seem to be enough treatment for the Brazilian.
85'
Carrizo is forced into his first save of the second half, getting across to his left smartly to deny Omar! Another white shirt is lurking to pick up the scraps, but the substitute goalkeeper gobbles up the loose ball.
84'
M'Vila has had a big effect on this game, the Frenchman is certainly stating a case for having a starting berth come the start of the season. After the likes of Cambiasso left the club this summer, the former Rubin midfielder could be the perfect replacement.
82'
LAXALT GOES CLOSE! The Uruguayan cuts inside from the right-hand side, before curling a left-footed effort towards Jesus' top right corner! The goalkeeper is merely a spectator, but the effort dips over the crossbar and behind for a goal-kick!
81'
We're into the final ten minutes, with momentum certainly in Inter's favour at the moment! Carrizo has barely had a save to make since coming on, with Mazzarri's fresh legs and tactical changes starting to have an effect.
79'
GREAT DOUBLE SAVE FROM JESUS! Krhin is slid in behind the Real Madrid lines, but the Slovenian can only win a corner. The initial cross is cleared, but the Real Madrid goalkeeper makes himself big to deny Vidic before scrambling to his right to parry Andreolli's rebound wide!
Minute
Description
77'
Play is briefly stopped, as a spectator runs onto the field, but we're quickly back underway. Dodo is replaced by Nagatomo, with the Brazilian wing-back having a rather fiery evening. Carvajal will be glad to see him take a seat on the bench!
75'
Only 15 minutes remain for either side to grab the victory! Botta is penalised for handball, as the former Tigre forward looked to control a long pass rather desperately! He diverted the ball into Icardi's path, but the referee spotted the means by which he managed it!
73'
Icardi gets the better of Derik and is found deep in the Real Madrid penalty area, but the Argentine's first touch lets him down and Jesus is able to come out and claim with ease. This game has been extremely stop-start since the break.
72'
Carvajal kicks out at Dodo, as the former Roma man bustled his way beyond the Spanish full-back. He's a very lucky man to get away with that, as the referee opts not to send off the former Leverkusen defender. If this wasn't a friendly, Carvajal would certainly be off for an early shower.
70'
With only 20 minutes left on the clock, Inter have a real opportunity to defeat a weakened Real Madrid side this evening. M'Vila has made a difference since coming on for the Nerazzurri, while Mazzarri will hope that Icardi will take some confidence from converting that penalty.
68'
Penalty goal scored by M. Icardi for Inter Milan!
PENALTY FOR INTER! Sobrino is penalised for a supposed push on Vidic as the Inter defender looked to meet a delivery at the back post!
GOOOOOOAL! INTER EQUALISE THROUGH ICARDI! The Argentine confidently clips the penalty over the goalkeeper to draw the scores level once again! A rather nice Panenka.
67'
Illarramendi and Pepe are the next players to take their leave. M'Vila tries to curl a long-range effort into the top right corner, but Jesus is at full stretch to tip it behind for a set piece!
65'
Again, much of Inter's play continues to come from D'Ambrosio on the right-hand side, but the former Torino man doesn't appear to have the end product required to leave a lasting impression on this game.
63'
A few changes for Inter, as Carrizo replaces Handanovic in goal, new signing M'Vila takes to the field at the expense of Kuzmanovic and Andreolli takes Ranocchia's place in defence.
62'
Dodo looks extremely fired up for this second half, possibly due to De Tomas' previous poor challenge on the Brazilian wing-back. Inter break down the right-hand side, before Icardi tries to play a long pass back to his own half - which ends up going directly out of play.
60'
Another couple of complaints, as Illarramendi is deemed to have raised his arm in an innocuous challenge. Real Madrid are in no hurry to break in this half and are instead keen to be patient and retain the ball.
58'
Yet another poorly timed lunge, with Juan Jesus the man at fault this time. The flow of play has been disrupted by fouls, meaning that Inter haven't really been able to grow into what has been a fractured game. Only D'Ambrosio has looked particularly bright since the interval for the Nerazzurri.
56'
D'Ambrosio is hacked down by Medran in the centre of midfield, earning the Real Madrid man a yellow card. There have certainly been plenty of dodgy challenges in this contest, it certainly hasn't been a stereotypical friendly!
54'
Another chance from Ancelotti, as Sobrino takes his place on the field in place of De Tomas - who might have let his temper get the better of him. D'Ambrosio breaks down the right before chopping inside smartly, but can only muster a tame shot which Diego Lopez collects with ease.
52'
Icardi and Pepe have an extensive battle on the left-hand side, which ends in the Portugal international getting the better of his man and earning himself the yard of space required to clear up the line. Botta then tries to break beyond the last man, but is caught marginally offside.
50'
The second half has started with a good tempo, but De Tomas fails to break into the Inter penalty area once again with a poor final touch. Moments earlier, Dodo swung in a dangerous cross from the left, which resulted in a hurried clearance from Pepe.
48'
Tempers flare up once again, after De Tomas throws himself into a poor challenge on Dodo. Botta and Carvajal get involved needlessly, leading to some of the teams' personnel on both benches spilling out onto the field to break it up. Friendly? What friendly?
47'
Only one change for Real Madrid at the break, with Marcos Llorente taking to the field in place of goalscorer Gareth Bale. Ancelotti is sticking with his 4-4-2 system, with a minor re-shuffle of personnel. I'm sure that wasn't the substitution that the neutrals wanted to see!
46'
We are back underway in the second half! Real Madrid will look to protect the lead given to them by a great goal from Bale, though Ancelotti doesn't have the most experienced faces to introduce from the bench.
45'
Dodo tries his luck from a ridiculous angle, after being found by a good crossfield ball. It flashes high and wide of the near post, with Lopez having his upright well covered. It would have had to have been quite a strike to creep in from there!
44'
Obi and Botta fire over the crossbar in quick succession, before Bale gets his angles wrong and returns the favour at the other end. A busy few seconds for the ballboys in the stadium, but nothing to trouble either goalkeeper. Icardi is nearly found by a good long ball, but it trickles through to Diego Lopez.
42'
Only a few minutes of the first half remain, with Inter just starting to ask the Real Madrid defence a couple of serious questions. Given that Ancelotti only has youthful and inexperienced options on the bench, Mazzarri might be able to turn the game in his favour with a couple of well-chosen substitutions.
40'
Isco and Vazquez combine well at speed, before the Castilla man tries his luck once again from the edge of the box! He lets fly, but an athletic block from Juan Jesus, some claim with his arm, denies the Spaniard and protects Handanovic from being called into action again.
39'
The Nerazzurri are able to attack a fantastic delivery which arcs into the penalty area, positioned right in between the defensive line and Diego Lopez, but Pepe is able to throw himself at the ball and scramble it away in an unorthodox manner!
38'
D'Ambrosio looks to break down the right-hand side, but is denied a fair run at the ball by a handball. Inter have a chance to load the box and swing in a cross, but thus far both side's have been wasteful from dead ball situations.
36'
Botta tries to lead the Inter attack once again, but the Argentine is hauled down as he looked to spin Llorente. He's been the main bright spark in the Italian side's offense, but hasn't seen enough of the ball in central areas.
34'
Around ten minutes until the break and Real Madrid are in control of this game. Though Inter have seen plenty of the ball, los Blancos have rarely been threatened and look to be well-drilled defensively. Tempers are rising slightly, despite it being only a friendly, with Vidic's elbow on Vazquez not helping things.
32'
Vazquez briefly goes down, after looking to be caught by an accidental elbow from Vidic. The referee has a word with the Serbia international, but doesn't produce a booking. He looked to stand up strong to the Castilla man's challenge, but it perhaps wasn't as innocuous as first thought - the winger has to leave the field of play to receive treatment.
30'
Bale lines up the resulting free-kick, forcing Handanovic into a sprawling save! The Welshman dips the ball over the ball and it looks to be creeping into the bottom right corner, but the Inter goalkeeper scrambled across quickly to deny him.
29'
Ranocchia picks up the game's first yellow card, for a totally needless and stupid challenge, coming through the back of De Tomas as the youngster looked to protect the ball. He takes his punishment without complaint and rightly so, there's no place for tackles like that during friendlies. Fortunately, De Tomas is fine to continue.
28'
The corner delivery is terrible, nearly arcing out of play on the far side, but Nacho collects and exchanges possession with Vazquez. Isco receives the ball, before shifting play back out to the right wing once again, but Vazquez's attempted cross is blocked.
26'
Bale has been fairly quiet thus far, but his only real contributions have resulted in los Blancos striking the crossbar and scoring the opening goal! The Welshman does well to get to the byline and win a corner from Ranocchia, however.
24'
Llorente looks to deliver another low, driven cross into the penalty area, but Ranocchia and Jonathan are able to arrive ahead of Bale to clear the danger. Inter are growing into the game in terms of possession, but Ancelotti's men are more than happy to surrender the ball and territory in order to allow them space to break into.
23'
JONATHAN HEADS OVER! The Brazilian combines well with his compatriot Dodo, but the usual wing-back can only steer a header over the target from 16 yards out! It would have been a tough finish, but it's a missed chance nonetheless.
22'
Real Madrid are staying very organised, with Isco, Medran and Illarramendi protecting their back four well and closing down possible passing lanes or angles. For Inter, it's rather like banging their head against a brick wall, they need a bit of inspiration from somewhere.
20'
Illarramendi and Isco combine well in central midfield, before the former Real Sociedad midfielder looks to put De Tomas through on goal. The 19-year-old tries to cut back onto his right foot once again, but it's too predictable, with possession stolen off his boot.
18'
D'Ambrosio looks for Botta with a stabbed diagonal ball, but Pepe is able to step out and deal with the pass. Inter are struggling to break down the Real Madrid lines, while los Blancos are looking fairly dangerous whenever they foray forward due to the pace of Vazquez and Bale.
17'
The Nerazzurri whip in their first corner of the afternoon, but Pepe meets the delivery well to half-clear. The rebound is thrown back into the box, with Vidic rising highest to steer the ball towards the near post, but Diego Lopez is easily on hand to smother.
15'
Inter whip in a free-kick from the left-hand side, but it bobbles through a ruck of players and out of the box. It's not quite clicking for Mazzarri's men at the moment, with the coach's frustration showing somewhat on the bench. Icardi and Botta aren't receiving anywhere near enough service.
13'
De Tomas dribbles his way through the heart of the Inter midfield, before cutting back onto his right foot and looking to curl an effort inside the top right corner from 20 yards. Ranocchia matches his man all of the way, before blocking the youngster's eventual strike. Good defending.
12'
Real Madrid have their reward for a smart start, full of energy and the desire to get forward. Inter haven't been able to test Diego Lopez yet, with only Ruben Botta looking whatsoever threatening in advanced positions. The Argentine has a touch of skill about him, but lacks consistency.
10'
G. Bale has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
GOOOOOOAL! WHAT A STRIKE FROM GARETH BALE! The Welshman smashes a swerving 25-yard effort beyond Handanovic and into the top left corner! The goalkeeper has absolutely no chance, he's totally deceived by the curl of the ball! Real Madrid lead 1-0!
9'
Llorente looks to dig out an early cross, but gets his execution all wrong, allowing for Ranocchia to clear. Los Blancos continue to look far more threatening, with their full-backs quick to support and the deep-lying combination of Illarramendi and Medran looking fairly promising.
7'
Vazquez races into the penalty box before looking to shoot, but a good sliding challenge from Vidic denies him! Real Madrid are really forcing the issue early on, exploiting the space in behind Inter's wing-backs with the likes of Illarramendi able to pick the right pass.
6'
Ruben Botta shows a few nice touches in the penalty area, but Medran watches the ball well to rob it from the Argentine. Real Madrid counter at pace, but De Tomas is eventually pickpocketed by Ranocchia as the young Spaniard shaped up to shoot.
4'
Another cross from the right-hand side looks to threaten, but Vidic manages to clear Inter's lines - although the referee had already stopped play for a Nerazzurri free-kick. Ancelotti's men have started this game at a much better tempo than their opposition.
3'
CROSSBAR! A slow start to proceedings in a fairly subdued atmosphere, with Real Madrid seeing more of the ball in the early minutes. Despite the presence of Inter's wing-backs, los Blancos press down the right-hand side, before Vazquez whips in a back post cross! Bale rises highest to meet it, but can only steer it onto the bar with Handanovic rooted to the spot!

We are underway in California, with Real Madrid donning their famous white and Inter in their fabled blue and black stripes! Two contrasting systems and a smattering of world-class quality should make for an entertaining contest!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Real Madrid's International Champions Cup clash against Inter, in what will be the first game of los Blancos pre-season preparation. The venue is the California Memorial Stadium, where two strong sides should be ready to battle it out. Despite it being a friendly tournament, plenty is at stake for the individual, as players try to prove to their respective managers that they are deserving of first-team action.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be leading you through all of the action, as we come to the tail end of what has been a rather busy summer for Real Madrid. Plenty of star players are still missing due to international duty and injury, but the signing of James Rodriguez has captured the imaginations of their supporters. Inter, meanwhile, have quietly been doing plenty of transfer business, as coach Walter Mazzarri tries to mould his playing squad before the opening day of Serie A.
TEAM NEWS: Gareth Bale and Isco start as part of los Blancos' strikeforce, as Carlo Ancelotti names a weakened side for tonight's clash. Fabio Coentrao has only just returned to training following his injury at the World Cup, meaning that Diego Llorente steps in at left-back, despite merely two appearances for the club. Alvaro Medran, Lucas Vazquez and Raul de Tomas are the other Castilla members given a start, though there are places for Dani Carvajal, Asier Illarramendi and Pepe.
TEAM NEWS: New signing Nemanja Vidic starts in defence for Inter, alongside Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus, while former Roma left-back Dodo starts on the left-hand side. Ruben Botta and Mauro Icardi are the strike partnership for what appears to be a patchwork Nerazzurri line-up, while Zdravko Kuzmanovic is asked to provide the experience alongside bit-part midfielder Joel Obi in the centre of the park.
Real Madrid starting line-up: Diego Lopez; Carvajal, Pepe, Nacho, Diego Llorente; Illarramendi, Medran, Isco, Lucas Vazquez; Raul de Tomas, Bale.
Inter starting line-up: Handanovic; Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan Jesus; D'Ambrosio, Jonathan, Obi, Dodo; Botta, Icardi.
Real Madrid substitutes: Jesus, Pacheco, Derik, Omar, Marcos Llorente, Sobrino.
After dishing out the line-ups, it's probably best to give some background information on Real Madrid's Castilla contingent tonight! Alvaro Medran is a 20-year-old central midfielder, deemed to be technically gifted, while Lucas Vazquez has managed to net 15 goals from 2011 as a winger. Raul de Tomas, 19-years-old, has played up front for both the B and C side in recent seasons. Finally, Diego Llorente is the Castilla's first-choice left-back, who has made six appearance for Spain U20s in the past.
We've only got ten minutes left until kick-off, so be sure to stick around for all of the action, as Real Madrid look to start their pre-season preparation in the best possible fashion. Despite appearing to lack in quality, Inter certainly won't be pushovers, with the sporadic Mauro Icardi one for the los Blancos' defenders to keep tabs on throughout.
HALF TIME! Real Madrid lead Inter 1-0 in California, courtesy of a trademark Gareth Bale screamer! The Welshman rifled in a swerving effort from 25 yards, which thus far the Nerazzurri haven't had any answers for. Plenty of half chances for either outfit, but los Blancos have been the solitary side able to call on a moment of inspiration.
Inter have seen plenty of the ball, with Botta proving to be a tricky handful at times, but just haven't got the quality required to unlock a well-drilled Real Madrid. Ancelotti's men have acquitted themselves well, with the midfield trio of Medran, Illarramendi and Isco protecting their back four admirably.
Be sure to rejoin us in ten minutes for all of the second half action, as Inter look to find a way back into this game. Half chances have been aplenty, but we're lacking the quality to turn such situations into goals - but for Bale's inspired strike.
ISCO MISSES! Carrizo turns the Spaniard's penalty effort onto the post! It's still Real Madrid 0-0 Inter!
VIDIC SCORES! The central defender fires Inter into the lead! Real Madrid 0-1 Inter!
NAGATOMO MISSES! It's levelled up, with the Japan international failing to convert! Real Madrid 1-1 Inter!
VAZQUEZ SCORES! The Castilla man keeps his nerve and slots home! Real Madrid 1-1 Inter!
NACHO SCORES! The defender steps up confidently and dispatches his finish beyond Carrizo! Real Madrid 2-1 Inter!
M'VILA MISSES! The Frenchman strikes the post, meaning that the advantage stays with los Blancos! Real Madrid 2-1 Inter!
JUAN JESUS SCORES! The Brazilian slots home to restore parity! Real Madrid 2-2 Inter!
ILLARRAMENDI MISSES! The former Real Sociedad midfielder's effort is too tame and Carrizo makes the save! Real Madrid 2-1 Inter!
MASCARELL MISSES! The youngster steps up, but blasts over the bar and into the stands! Real Madrid 2-2 Inter!
ICARDI SCORES! INTER WIN THE PENALTY SHOOTOUT! The Argentine steps up confidently and fires home the spot-kick, earning the Nerazzurri the win in the process! Real Madrid 2-3 Inter!
There we go, that's all that we have time for from California, as Inter took Real Madrid all the way to penalties before grabbing the victory in a shootout which ended 3-2. It was certainly a game of two halves, with Inter only growing dangerously into the contest in the second half.
Gareth Bale's early long-range screamer was the highlight, but Inter battled throughout the 90 minutes in what was a fairly physical and bad-tempered affair considering its 'friendly' label. I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time!
