It's all over! Hull hold on for a big opening day win, their first at QPR since 1963! James Chester's goal, and splendid work in defence, proves to be the difference as the newly promoted QPR fail to take advantage of a late penalty and fall in their first game back in the top flight.
90' +3
Remy with another shot at McGregor! He's been invisible for the majority of this second half, but he's coming to life again late on here. He makes another splendid run and this time gets a shot off, but McGregor makes a fairly straightforward save.
90' +2
ZAMORA WASTES A WONDERFUL CHANCE! Remy makes a wonderful run, darting through the middle of the pitch. He draws the attention of two defenders before laying it off for Zamora. The striker thinks he has all the time in the world, but El Mohamady tracks back and dispossesses the striker before he can even get a shot off.
90'
Five minutes to be added on... Can Hull see this one out, or will QPR finally find their equalizer?
89'
Into the final minute of the 90 now. Surely QPR will have a good amount of stoppage time, but Hull do not look like conceding at the moment. Buoyed by the McGregor penalty save, they are doing everything in their power to win this for their keeper.
87'
How did that stay out?! A mad scramble inside the area, but Hull get bodies in front of everything! James Chester makes an important block, and just seconds later he slides in to clear a dangerous looking cross. He's having an inspired match!
85'
Penalty saved by A. McGregor!
MCGREGOR KEEPS IT OUT! Charlie Austin shoots low and to the bottom left corner, but the keeper guesses the right way and makes the save! Justice is served, perhaps, as will be the feeling on the visitors bench. QPR still in search of their equalizer!
83'
PENALTY TO QPR! Referee calls handball on James Chester.
WHOA! The replay shows minimal, if any contact, as Chester's arm was behind his back! It's something of a shocking decision, but what's done is done!
82'
D. Meyler enters the game and replaces T. Ince.
Ferdinand nearly pulls QPR level! A poor header off the corner falls to Ferdinand at the near post, but his flick is cleared off the line by Huddlestone!
80'
Fantastic clearance by Chester! Phillips delivers a dangerous ball into the area, but Chester lays out to clear the danger with a fantastic diving header. What a game he has had!
Minute
Description
79'
N. Jelavić gets yellow.
78'
B. Zamora enters the game and replaces R. Dunne.
The corner is poorly taken and nothing comes of it. But perhaps some encouragement for the fans, as their play-off hero, Bobby Zamora, enters the match as the final substitution for QPR for Richard Dunne. A striker for a defender. They will be throwing the kitchen sink at Hull in these final minutes.
76'
Finally QPR with some better build-up play as it is worked to Phillips on the right. He can not get his cross into the area, but does manage to win his team a corner.
74'
AGAIN DUNNE MAKES A VITAL BLOCK! Off a corner kick, some pinball in the area sees the ball fall for Jelavic at the far post. His volley from a tight angle is blocked well by Dunne who is acting as a human shield at the moment!
72'
Crucial block by Dunne. Jelavic is dispossessed in the area, but the ball falls kindly for Ince on his left foot, however, he can not get his shot past Dunne who concedes a corner kick.
70'
Green to the rescue again! It's Hull City, up a goal, the team who continues to produce the best chances. A free kick is delivered dangerously into the area, with three men attacking for the visitors. Huddlestone gets a slight touch to redirect, but Green gets down well to make the save.
69'
R. Dunne gets yellow.
J. Hoilett enters the game and replaces A. Faurlin.
68'
M. Phillips enters the game and replaces D. Simpson.
Double switch now for QPR as they press for an equalizer. Matt Phillips and Canadian striker Junior Hoilett come on for Simpson and Faurlin.
66'
STAT ATTACK: The last time Hull City won at QPR was a division three match in 1963.
64'
Everyone is behind the ball for Hull when QPR are in possession. They are not being broken down easily. The hosts seem dejected and, at the moment, they appear to lack the composure needed to find an equalizer.
62'
MASSIVE SAVE BY ROBERT GREEN! It really is a game saver for QPR, who could not afford to fall two goals behind. Hull break on a counter through Stephen Quinn. He cuts towards the centre and lays it off for Ince. The debutant is sent in on goal, but can not slide his attempt past the trailing leg of the keeper.
60'
It all looks very comfortable for the Tigers at the moment. QPR are lacking any sort of precision in attack and are struggling to break down their opponents well shaped back line.
58'
Hull look confident in possession, perhaps propelled by Chester's opener. They win consecutive free kicks in the attacking half as QPR grow increasingly frustrated. They have seen this story play out once before and are not ready to live it again.
56'
STAT ATTACK: Hull City posted a league worst record on their travels last season among teams who avoided relegation. Their 13 losses from 19 matches were two more than anyone else.
54'
QPR win a corner of their own now as they search for an equalizer. The delivery is poor and McShane can head clear. The follow up attempt is sent towards the far post, with two unmarked men waiting, but there is too much on the cross as it sails harmlessly behind for a goal kick.
52'
J. Chester has scored a goal for Hull City! Assist by S. Quinn.
Stephen Quinn delivers a corner kick, that just eludes Davies. Chester charges towards the ball, thanks to some poor marking from Rio Ferdinand, and slots home brilliantly into the bottom corner. The visitors have the lead!
51'
JAMES CHESTER OPENS THE SCORING!
49'
Poor decision from McGregor, who ventures just a few feet out of his goal to collect a free kick, uncontested, but instead opts to punch away. It is recycled by QPR and sent back into the area for Austin, but he is called for a foul as he collides with the keeper.
47'
Cagey start to this second half as the two sides feel out each others approach coming out of the break. Plenty of passing around in midfield with nothing to show for it from either team.
46'
P. McShane enters the game and replaces A. Bruce.
45' +3
One last attack for QPR and it nearly produces a goal. Remy chases down a long ball forward, but can not out-muscle Curtis Davies who gets the slightest touch on the ball to nudge it to safety... and that should do it for the first half.
45' +2
Hull look to keep the ball here and ride out this wave of QPR pressure into the break. They pass it around at the back, killing close to a minute, much to the dismay of the home supporters.
45'
Three minutes to be added on here...
Underway here in the second half. Hull City have made their second substitution at the break as Paul McShane comes on for Alex Bruce.
44'
WHAT A CHANCE TO TAKE THE LEAD! QPR win a corner, and Caulker gets on the end of it. His header is cleared off the line by Robertson, then Jelavic nearly puts his attempted clearance into his own net, but McGregor acrobatically tips the ball over the bar to save the striker some embarrassment.
42'
Alex Bruce saves the day! Hull give it away again in midfield, this time through Huddlestone, and Austin runs at the defence with a chance. He gets a lucky bounce to keep the ball in his path and looks to shoot, but Bruce slides in to block the effort at the final moment.
40'
S. Quinn enters the game and replaces R. Snodgrass.
QPR making good moves forward, but the chemistry between their three frontman does not appear to be there just yet. Mutch makes a lovely run down the right and cuts into the centre, but some confusion between Remy and Austin leads to some poor over-lapping runs and Mutch is not able to pick out a pass.
38'
Back underway now, without Snodgrass whose day appears to be done. Hull are arguing again with the referee now as Jelavic looked to break with the ball and was taken down by Richard Dunne. The foul was given, but the Tigers players feel it deserved a yellow card, especially since Davies was cautioned for a similar tackle 10 minutes earlier.
36'
We have a stoppage in play now as Snodgrass is down and being attended to after a coming together with Joey Barton. Nothing intentional in the tackle, but the Hull midfielder appears to be in some pain.
34'
Remy continues to make his presence felt in this match. He finds the slightest amount of space and gets a powerful left-footed shot off from 25 yards out, but in the end it is hit too close to McGregor who is able to palm it down and collect.
32'
APPEALS FOR A PENALTY! Nikica Jelavic gets on the end of a loose ball before being toppled over from behind by Traore. The referee has a look but does not award the penalty, and instead, Hull have to settle for a corner kick. Jelavic is furious with referee Craig Pawson, still arguing with him as the play goes back the other way.
30'
NEARLY THE OPENER FOR MUTCH! Loic Remy is starting to grow into this match and he is proving a real menace for the Hull City defence at the moment. Here he finds space along the right and darts towards the end-line before crossing it back for Mutch. He climbs well to meet it, but his glancing header sails just wide of the far post!
28'
The home fans let out a cheer as they think it has gone in, but it is into the side netting by Joey Barton. Decent effort, but McGregor looked to have that one covered.
27'
C. Davies gets yellow.
26'
Clumsy challenge by Curtis Davies and that should earn him a yellow card. Nifty work by Loic Remy, who has yet to really come to life in this match, as he wins the hosts a free kick just outside the top of the area. Glorious chance here.
23'
STAT ATTACK: The Hoops spent 13.5 million pounds in the transfer window this summer – a stark drop off from the 40 million spent after their previous promotion to the top flight in 2012.
21'
What is McGregor doing?! He runs out of his area to collect a ball, but opts to try and let it run out of play as opposed to clearing the danger. Austin applies good pressure and steals the ball, before crossing it into the area with McGregor scrambling to get back. Mutch is on the end of the cross, but he scuffs his volley and nothing comes of the chance.
19'
Both teams have enjoyed a nice spell of possession, and now things have fizzled out a bit. The two sides feeling each other out here as it is passed around at the back by QPR. We have gone from end to end stuff, to a virtual standstill in a matter of a couple of minutes.
17'
QPR queuing up in attack. First Remy has a shot that McGregor collects. Then off a corner kick, a number of short passes inside the area sees the ball come to Faurlin, but his final effort is pushed a few yards wide of the post.
15'
The home support is starting to come back to life now as the Hoops seem to have gotten rid of their early jitters. They look much more confident on the ball and Hull seem to be a bit caught off guard by this.
13'
The pace is really starting to pick up now! Hull attack again, with Snodgrass picking up a pass and playing through an advantage. He sends it over to Ince, but the final cross is cleared and QPR break with pace on the counter. Mutch picks out Austin and beats a defender to make himself available for a return pass, but Chester makes a vital block.
11'
STAT ATTACK: Hull City picked up just 14 points in the Premier League in 2014. Only Cardiff City managed fewer (12).
9'
Livermore wins the visitors yet another corner. The delivery from Snodgrass is cleared, and after a mad scramble atop the area, Livermore commits a needless foul and the attack fizzles out.
7'
The new signings are making quite an impact for the visitors early on! Andrew Robertson this time gets on the end of a pass in midfield and picks out a lovely cross that Nikica Jelavic can only head over the bar. Not much in terms of options there, but the left-back did very well to create a chance out of seemingly nothing.
5'
Important recovery by Traore. El Mohamady back to his old ways, wreaking havoc along the right. He gets forward and into a threatening position, but Traore is able to recover nicely, sliding in and putting the ball behind for a Hull corner.
3'
Lively start from the visitors who enjoy some good early possession in the attacking third. Ince shows his high work rate winning a ball back after a heavy touch and setting Snodgrass up in space along the left. The ex-Norwich City star tries a cutback, but Rio Ferdinand is there to intercept the pass, much to the delight of the home supporters.

And we are off! The new season is underway, in front of a capacity crowd at Loftus Road. Hull City get things started, moving left to right, in their all black away kits, with QPR in their classic white with blue stripes. Fantastic atmosphere as fans and players alike are swept up in the excitement of a new season – a clean slate.
There is nothing quite like the dawn of a new season! It is the opening day in the Premier League and hopes are high in every camp. Queens Park Rangers host Hull City at Loftus Road, with kick-off just 30 minutes away, as both sides hope to kick-start this new campaign with a win. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
QPR will be hoping to write a different story than they did during their relegation season of 2012/13. The Hoops look to have avoided spending silly money this time around. Manager Harry Redknapp brought in a strong supporting cast - a healthy mix of youth and experience - as they look to make themselves a mainstay in England’s top flight.
Hull City will be looking to build on last season, where they managed to remain in the Premier League as well as reach the final of the FA Cup. As a result, the Tigers will be tasked with a heavier fixture list this season as they look to participate in the Europa League for the first time in club history.
The teams have been announced, so let us have ourselves a look at today's starting line-ups:
QPR SUBS: Hill, Phillips, Ohuoha, Henry, Murphy, Hoilett, Zamora.
The big news here is that Loic Remy does feature in the starting line-up. It is unknown still if he will remain with the club for the season, but what a big boost he could prove to be to their survival hopes. Steven Caulker, Rio Ferdinand and Jordan Mutch make their competitive debut, while Mauricio Isla is left out of the team.
Hull City XI (4-5-1): McGregor; El Mohamady, Chester, Bruce, Robertson; Snodgrass, Huddlestone, Davies, Livermore, Ince; Jelavic.
HULL CITY SUBS: Figueroa, Meyler, Brady, McShane, Harper, Aluko, Quinn.
Yannick Sagbo serves the first of his two-match ban for violating FA rules with a Twitter post. New signings Andrew Robertson, Jake Livermore, Tom Ince and Robert Snodgrass feature in a new-look Tigers XI.
STAT ATTACK: QPR and Hull City have never previously met in a top flight fixture.
I am Alex Moretto, and I would like to thank you all for joining me here on opening day! I hope you enjoyed the match as much as I did, and enjoy the rest of the weekend's action. Good bye!
