More chaos in the Sevilla ranks. Barbosa misses a beat with his defence and Rodrigo nearly has an opening from a long punt forward, but the keeper eventually clears his lines.
90' +2
Coke gets yellow.
Luismi gets yellow.
Into the second of five added minutes. Coke tries to pick out Bacca with an outswinging cross towards the far post but it loops right into the arms of Alves, who didn't have to move.
90'
That must hurt for Emery, losing the full points at the death against his former team. Huge credit must go to those los Che players though, as with a man disadvantage, they fought back late on to snatch an equaliser.
88'
L. Orbán has scored a goal for Valencia!
THEY'VE GOT IT! VALENCIA HAVE DRAWN LEVEL! The cross comes in from the left hand side and Orban is among a sea of players leaping for it. He gets a shoulder to the ball and it may have taken a nick off a defender, before heading into the back of the net!
86'
Parejo again takes charge of a set piece. This time, it looks far enough for him to get it up and down in time. And that he does, angling it towards the far post, but missing by inches!
84'
That's the end of Gomes' night. He's had a mixed bag of an afternoon. On comes Orban to try to change fortunes with little over six minutes remaining in this one.
83'
L. Orbán enters the game and replaces André Gomes.
82'
Disappointing. He gets it up and angled towards the top corner, but he's nowhere close to getting it down in time. That was one of Valencia's best chances to get back in this game.
81'
Rodrigo makes his first contribution in an age with a swift turn that forces Carrico into a late tug, winning a free kick just on the edge of the box. The referee gets the foam spray out to mark the wall and Parejo stands over the ball with a view to have a go on goal...
Minute
Description
80'
Luismi enters the game and replaces Iborra.
79'
Iborra, who has been fatigued for a while now in this second half and may not yet be fully fit, goes off and on comes Luismi to help shore up the middle for the final stretch. A dejected Deulofeu sits back down on the bench - his debut will come another day.
77'
Sevilla may be plotting a final change with Deulofeu getting warmed up on the sidelines. He's as good a choice as any to stretch an undermanned Valencia side in the closing stages.
75'
It's going to be hard for Valencia to break down this defence now. With the extra man, Sevilla can pack even more bodies in at the back and really pick their moments to break.
73'
Diego Alves gets yellow.
Alves and Bacca race for a loose ball and the keeper raises his boot high, sending the striker to the turf in a heap. Real danger of a second red for Valencia, but replays show that Bacca embellished his fall greatly, and the referee is lenient, only brandishing yellow.
71'
Indeed, Vidal's booking stands as his last action in this match. He's sacrificed for Banega, who comes on against his former club, for whom he appeared over 100 times in La Liga.
70'
É. Banega enters the game and replaces Aleix Vidal.
69'
Well, the official count stands at 63 seconds. That's all the time that elapsed between De Paul's introduction and his dismissal. Vidal was also booked for his reaction during that incident, but this has suddenly become a labour for Valencia.
67'
Aleix Vidal gets yellow.
R. De Paul goes off after a red card!
RED CARD! VALENCIA DOWN TO 10 MEN! Is that a record for the fastest ever debut? Barely two minutes on the pitch, and De Paul has been sent off for cracking a forearm into the face of Vitolo. That was in plain sight of the referee! Extraordinary!
66'
R. De Paul enters the game and replaces Paco Alcácer.
Bacca's pace and movement has been key for the hosts all game and his latest run sees him in a position to cut back into the box. Parejo's attempt at a clearance is awful, setting up Vitolo for a shot that whistles past the far post! From that angle, it really should have been 2-0 and goodnight!
Another change for Valencia as the disappointing Alcacer jogs off t be replaced by De Paul. Another new summer recruit, perhaps his fresh legs can shake up this stagnant attack?
64'
Well, Barbosa hasn't had a thing to do in this half. Rodrigo has been invisible in this match, which is the drawback of his game when he's not provided with service. Alcacer only really made an impact with that recent miss. It was a surprise to see Piatti the man sacrificed tor Feghouli.
62'
Feghouli's flick with the outside of his boot finds Alcacer dead level, but perhaps the striker thought that he had strayed offside. He seemed to be thinking too much as he snatched at that pass, missing the target.
60'
Sevilla cause danger from the resulting corner as Valencia fail to win the first header, before Pareja flicks it to goal from close range, but there's not near enough power to seriously trouble Alves.
58'
Bacca leads a Sevilla break, with support from Coke. The latter moves into an unmarked position at the far post but the former is way too elaborate attempting to find him, delivering a rabona cross that misses its mark and draws the ire of the home fans.
56'
S. Féghouli enters the game and replaces P. Piatti.
On comes Feghouli, the tricky Algerian who impressed highly for his side at the World Cup. He can play anywhere in attacking midfield and brings energy and unpredictability - the latter quality especially vital now in what has been a pedestrian Valencia start to the second half.
54'
Time keeps ticking and Valencia aren't any closer to finding a way back into this game. They've been forced to do a bit of defending as of late, and it looks like Feghouli is set to arrive.
52'
Parejo has to be careful, given that he's already on a yellow card. He trips up Krychowiak (no easy task) in plain view of the match official who, in no uncertain terms, gives him a final warning.
50'
Like the first half, Valencia start this period with a bang, and nearly comb through the Sevilla defence when Gaya gets to the byline and cuts the ball back dangerously across the face of goal, but no one in orange is there to accept that gift.
48'
No changes to report from the first half. If you're just joining us, Sevilla have already swapped out their first choice keeper Beto, who pulled up with a hamstring injury. Barbosa came on in his place and very nearly coughed up a goal with a moment of irrational confidence on the ball.
46'
Here we go again!
45' +1
And with that storming end, we bid the first half adios.
44'
Aleix Vidal has scored a goal for Sevilla!
SEVILLA BREAK THE DEADLOCK! Scintillating break from the home side, as Bacca's pace takes him past his man, inside the left defender. He does just enough to tee up the onrushing Vidal who sees his first shot saved, but converts with the second bite of the apple!
43'
Piatti perhaps makes the wrong decision on a Valencia break. With options near the top of the box, he instead decides to drive to the byline, which forces him into a tight position with not enough space to cross.
41'
First caution of the evening and it goes to a Valencia player. Parejo is the man booked as he went in late on Iborra, allowing Sevilla a free kick chance that they can't play away from the clutches of Alves.
40'
Dani Parejo gets yellow.
39'
Barbosa, you lucky duck. Nearly a huge embarrassment. He dallied on a backpass, allowing Piatti the chance to nip the ball off his toes. Thankfully, the Valencia striker couldn't sort his angle in time, and his eventual shot was blocked by a covering defender.
37'
It's starting to fall into place for Sevilla in the opposition half now. they're the side in the ascendancy now, holding scores of possession and beginning to put the back four under some pressure.
35'
Gaya needed to stretch every sinew there to prevent Bacca from racing onto an Iborra through pass. He would have been clean through there, the Sevilla striker, but he was denied by a perfect sliding interception.
33'
The game's gone into a bit of a lull with just over half an hour gone. Valencia have taken the foot off the gas pedal momentarily. Sevilla are looking better, but it's still not quite clicking for them.
Krychowiak looks like he could be a useful addition to Sevilla's ranks, if he can keep himself from barging into teammates. He's built like a boulder, and throws himself about like one too. Quite a deterrent in the centre of midfield against delicate playmaker types.
31'
Barragan shows superb strength and commitment to hold up the run of Suarez and eventually nip the ball off the toes of the Sevilla midfielder. He's not put a foot wrong so far, the Valencia right back.
29'
Gomez shows great skill on the right to evade two rough challenges and whip in a cross that is easy pickings for Barbosa. Meanwhile, Pareja needs a minute after clashing into his new teammate Krychowiak. Still working out the kinks it looks like.
27'
That could have been a lot better than it was for Valencia. Alcacer is the point man, leading the break and he has Rodrigo making a great unchecked run down the right. However, his ball forces the Brazilian born forward too far away from goal, and he fails to keep the play alive by cutting across the top of the box on his stronger left foot.
25'
Piatti drifts infield from the left flank and leaves two defenders for dead. He spots his chance and goes for goal from that same side, but a deflection helps it on its way for a corner kick.
23'
Despite Valencia's hold over proceedings, we haven't seen much from Rodrigo so far. He's popped up mostly on the left flank, but apart from occasionally drawing the attention of Coke, he's been on the periphery.
21'
First test of the game for the deputy keeper Barbosa, as Barragan hooks an in-swinging cross towards the six yard area that the keeper can smother low down. Good warmup for him.
19'
The stretcher is called for and Beto will take the long way around the pitch. On comes Barbosa. More problems for Emery in this game - the opening quarter of an hour has been forgettable from a Sevilla point of view.
18'
M. Barbosa enters the game and replaces Beto.
17'
Beto has stayed down and he looks to be in some real agony. Barbosa is spotted going through a rushed warmup on the sidelines. Replays show that as Beto made the clearance, he twinged his standing leg in an awkward way thanks to a strong swing.
15'
Oh dear. Not what you want to see at an time, least of all on the first day of the season. Beto sprints outside his box to get first to the ball, but immediately pulls up grabbing his hamstring and falls to the turf in some pain. I highly doubt that he'll be able to continue.
13'
The Valencia control of this game endures. They've now adopted a more patient approach to counteract Sevilla's switch to a deeper defensive line to eliminate the counter attacking threat.
11'
We're not seeing a single thing from Sevilla, apart from their willingness to give up fouls like they're going out of style. Their players are far too close too each other, it's allowing Valencia to swam them and win the ball easily, setting up counters.
9'
PING PONG POST! Valencia are left dumbfounded as to how exactly they aren't in the lead. They hit Sevilla on the break with impunity, and Piatti is left completely free inside the area, only to see his low finish bounce off one post, roll on the goal line and rebound off the other!
7'
Valencia have certainly settled the better in the opening exchanges. It's been a tentative beginning to the game from the hosts, who have coughed up possession nervously a few times now.
5'
The familiarities extend to an exhilarating Europa League semi final tie last season, where in the second leg at the Mestalla, Valencia led 3-0 until the fourth and last minute of added time, when Stephane Mbia struck to send Sevilla to the final on away goals, where they defeated Benfica on penalties.
3'
A lot of familiarities in this match, first and foremost with the personnel. Emery of course was once the manager of Valencia, but was given the boot even after finishing in third place for three straight seasons. Ever Banega, also a former servant of the Mestalla, is on the bench for Sevilla tonight.

Here we go!
Hello everyone and welcome to our live coverage of Sevilla vs Valencia, as La Liga returns for another season. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
Valencia manager Nuno starts loan signing Rodrigo up top, as well as fellow new boy Nicolas Otamendi in the centre of his defence. However, names like Kevin Gameiro and German international Shkodran Mustafi ae still some way short of full fitness and will sit out tonight's clash.
In addition to the expected departure of Fazio, Sevilla have suffered their annual pillage at the hands of Europe's elite, losing Alberto Moreno to Liverpool and former skipper Ivan Rakitic t the clutches of Liga rivals Barcelona.
However, los Sevillistas haven't sat back in shock while their squad has been decimated. In addition to Krychowiak, Suarez and Vidal, they've also picked up proven Liga players like Ever Banega and Iago Aspas, and an exciting prospect on loan in Gerard Deulofeu. All this for a combined total of under €10 million.
Valencia are looking to revamp their front line. Nuno has already alienated Jonas, Helder Postiga and Jonathan Viera by forcing then to train alone. Not a huge shock considering the former was los Che's top scorer last season with only nine league goals.
It's here where Rodrigo comes in. At one point not too long ago, he was reportedly valued north of €30m when Arsenal came sniffing, so for Valencia to snare him on loan is quite a coup. He's lightning quick with great movement and a finishing, and los Che are hoping that he strikes up a prolific understanding with Paco Alcacer in attack.
Sevilla start three of their summer signings tonight. Grzegorz Krychowiak, Denis Suarez and Aleix Vidal all begin the match for the Andalusian side after being picked up for little to no cost. However, as predicted by Unai Emery, captain Federico Fazio plays no part in tonight's game with a transfer to Tottenham thought to be in the works.
Valencia had a golden chance via Piatti which hit both posts before ending up in the keeper's arms. They couldn't take it though and never created the end product to match their dominance.
Overall, it's been a game of precious little goalmouth action, with the most familiar pattern of play being Sevilla warily sitting back and allowing Valencia to have the ball. Hopefully, that goal will loosen the shackles heading into the second half of this game.
Well that goal came during a period of Sevilla improvement, but you still have to say that it was scored somewhat against the run of play. Vidal kept his head to grab a goal on his debut for his new side.
Valencia will feel that they deserved this point particularly after fighting back from a goal and a man down late in the game. But for every bit of pride that los Che feel, it will be matched in equal measure by Sevilla frustration.
Emery knows that there's no excuses for his side not leaving this game with all three points. They couldn't press home their numerical advantage at the right moments.
That's it from me, I've been Keeghann Sinanan and it's been a pleasure!
