The hosts get it forward and Mazzarri is urging the referee to blow for full time. Mbaye plays with it near the corner flag, taking us into the fifth minute of extra time. Romero boots it forward again, and that brings us to the end of the match!
90' +3
R. Krhin enters the game and replaces M. Kovačić.
Inter get the ball forward and kill more time near the corner before the ball finally runs behind for a goal kick. Romero launches it up the field, and Sampdoria cannot manage to keep it as it goes out for an Inter throw.
90' +2
A lengthy celebration runs nearly half of the three minutes of added time off the clock, and then Inter make a substitution with Kovacic coming off for Rene Khrin, dwindling precious seconds away from Sampdoria.
90' +1
L. Rizzo enters the game and replaces Pedro Obiang.
90'
Penalty goal scored by M. Icardi for Inter Milan!
ICARDI CONVERTS IT! Romero guesses the right way, but the striker puts it just past the diving keeper and into the back of the net. It is the perfect penalty, and Inter look to have snatched all three points at the death!
89'
PENALTY TO INTER! Romagnoli swipes into the back of Kuzmanovic, with the midfielder turned away from goal and the referee awards a penalty! It was a foul indeed, but an incredibly needless one for the defender to give away.
88'
EXCELLENT SAVE! Gabbiadini runs rampant on the right, before doing very well to pick out Eder in the centre. The winger bounces his header towards goal, but Handanovic tips it over the bar!
87'
INTER ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS WITH THE REFEREE! Palacio is slipped in between two defenders by Kovacic, and Romagnoli lunges in to try and tackle him. There was definite contact and it would have likely been given, but the striker tried to keep running towards the ball, only going to ground when he knew he did not have a chance to get to it.
85'
FEARLESS BLOCK! Kuzmanovic takes a pass from 30 yards out and makes quick work of the defender. He squares up a shot, but takes a split second too long as Obiang flings himself in front to get a block in!
83'
STAT ATTACK: Through their last 15 home matches in the league, Inter have kept eight clean sheets, not allowing a goal in over 50 per cent of those games.
Minute
Description
81'
G. Medel gets yellow.
Simple decision from the referee as Gary Medel is shown a yellow card. The midfielder could not keep up with the pace of Obiang, as he draped himself all over the Sampdoria man, before rugby tackling him to the ground.
80'
HE CANNOT BUY A GOAL!! Superb vision from Kovacic as the Croatian sends a perfectly weighted ball in for Palacio. The striker is again behind the defence, shooting back across the goal, but misses the target by a few feet!
78'
I. Mbaye enters the game and replaces J. Obi.
Inter make their second change of the match, as 19-year-old Senegalese winger Ibrahima Mbaye comes in, with Joel Obi giving way. The substitute has plenty of pace, and should be able to attack Sampdoria on the flanks.
76'
It is all going wrong for Inter at the vital moment. They are applying some good pressure on the visitors, but are lacking that good final ball at the moment - and when they do get it, the finish is not there. Kuzmanovic has Palacio and Icardi rushing into the area, but sends a chipped pass straight into the arms of Romero.
74'
Dodo with more excellent running along the left, wins Inter a corner. The chance is wasted as Palacio tears his man down at the near post to concede a needless free kick. Into the final 15 minutes we go, still with nothing to separate the two sides!
72'
R. Soriano enters the game and replaces A. Duncan.
Sampdoria make their second change, as Roberto Soriano enters the match for Alfred Duncan. The 21-year-old put in a good 70 plus minutes of work for his side, and is greeted by a warm embrace from his coach.
70'
STAT ATTACK: Sampdoria have not lost any of their last nine competitive matches, their longest unbeaten run since 2003, when they were in the Serie B.
68'
HOW HAS HE MISSED THAT! Palacio is through on goal, but a lack of pace forces him to settle for a corner. The ensuing delivery is good, and after a few touches in the area, it falls for Kovacic with no one anywhere near him inside the penalty area. He lashes at the ball first time, with the entire right corner available, but scuffs his effort wide of the far post!
66'
Sampdoria get forward to win a corner, and Gabbiadini does well to head it down for a teammate, but the whistle sounds as a foul is committed. Romagnoli takes the chance anyhow, hooking a shot into the arms of Handanovic.
64'
V. Regini enters the game and replaces D. Gastaldello.
Sampdoria make their first change of the match and it is their centre-back and captain Daniele Gastadello, already on a yellow card, who gives way for Vasco Regini.
62'
WHAT A CHANCE! Palacio slips Kuzmanovic in on goal, and the substitute has the goal at his mercy from six yards out, but shockingly barely makes contact with the ball, rolling it safely into the arms of Romero.
60'
IMPORTANT SAVE! Gabbiadini curls his shot around the wall and has the bottom corner picked out well, but Handanovic dives down quickly to his left to get a hand to it before Obi clears the rebound behind for a corner. The ensuing cross in is collected again by the Inter keeper.
58'
Juan commits a foul in a dangerous area just outside the box, giving the visitors a chance with a free kick from just over 20 yards out. Gabbiadini stands over it, and he will surely be going for goal from here with that lethal left foot of his.
56'
STAT ATTACK: Inter have lost just two of their last 19 Serie A matches at the San Siro, but have more draws over that span (nine) than victories (eight).
54'
Sampdoria are having little success when they build through the middle, mostly exposing Inter on the flanks. They pass it through the centre and Okaka holds it up at the top of the box, with teammates making runs to his left and right. He opts to have a shot, forcing a save from Handanovic, before the Slovenian keeper calmly collects the rebound.
52'
Z. Kuzmanović enters the game and replaces Hernanes.
Inter make their first change of the match with Zdravko Kuzmanovic replacing Hernanes in midfield. The Brazilian came up limping after a coming together with Duncan, which is the likely reason for this substitution.
50'
ANOTHER MISS! Palacio breaks into the area and after a fortunate bounce off Medel, the ball comes back to him from six yards out, but he forces his shot wide at the near post! The striker has done an excellent job of getting himself into these positions, but the chances are crying out for a finish!
48'
A. Palombo gets yellow.
Palombo is shown the second yellow card of the match for Sampdoria as he clips the heels of Icardi, who was breaking into the final third. It looked accidental, but it certainly was a foul as it broke up a promising looking move.
46'
Sampdoria get the second half underway! No changes from either side at the break.
45' +1
RUNG OFF THE BAR! Brilliant running from Gabbiadini along the left, before crossing in for Okaka. The striker gets a slight touch with his head, and it falls to a wide open Duncan inside the area. He brings it down and squares himself towards goal, but puts his shot off the crossbar! What a chance that was to take the lead with the final kick of the first half.
45'
One minute of time to be added on at the end of the half...
43'
We have reached a cagey period of the match, as the pace slows considerably before the half. Duncan is put under considerable pressure in his own end by Palacio, before conceding a throw. Inter take it quickly, but Sampdoria deal with the threat.
41'
STAT ATTACK: Sampdoria are unbeaten through the first eight matches of the season. It is their longest undefeated run in the top flight to start a season since 1990.
39'
BRILLIANT SAVE! Icardi is absolutely buzzing now! The striker is proving himself near impossible to deal with, this time taking a pass and waltzing around the defender, but his shot back across goal is saved incredibly well by Romero who gets down quickly to stretch out an arm!
37'
Icardi appeals for a penalty, as a bouncing cross from Obi finds him in the box. He tries for the spectacular, but kicks the outstretched leg of Romagnoli. The referee is quick to refute the striker's claims, as yet another chance goes begging.
35'
SLOPPY! Gabbiadini is picked out along the right, and sends a cross in for Eder. The Brazilian attacks the ball well, but sees his header blocked by Ranocchia. The captain fails to communicate with Juan, as neither clear the danger, nearly allowing Duncan to pounce on the rebound.
33'
Inter have slowed the pace again. The hosts are eager to break quickly after winning the ball, but if they are unable to find a way through, they have no problems playing it back to keep possession and regroup. Their patient approach has not paid dividends thus far, with all of their chances coming on the counter.
31'
There have been chances a plenty for both sides through the opening half an hour, yet we sit scoreless at the San Siro! A lack of quality in front of goal has hurt the hosts dearly thus far, but the pace has been excellent. It should be only a matter of time before one of these teams finds the back of the net.
29'
CLOSE FOR SAMPDORIA! Eder does wonderfully well to beat Ranocchia along the left, before cutting it into the area. He plays a low, teasing ball across the face of goal with Okaka and Duncan rushing on, but Juan gets a foot to it. His clearance goes only as far as an onrushing Romagnoli, but he lashes his effort over the bar.
27'
GLORIOUS CHANCE WASTED! Inter look incredibly dangerous on the break, when Sampdoria give the ball away cheaply in midfield. Hernanes pick out Obi on the left, and the Nigerian sends a superb cross in for Icardi. The striker climbs high to meet it from six yards out, but cannot make good contact as he thrusts it over the bar.
25'
STAT ATTACK: Inter’s last five league matches played at the San Siro have seen a staggering 14 goals scored in the first half, including four within in the first 10 minutes... There has been nothing through 25 minutes here tonight!
23'
M. Kovačić gets yellow.
Dodo takes the free kick for Inter, but it is delivered poorly into the area making for an easy catch by Romero. He starts Sampdoria back the other way, and Kovacic takes down Mesbah along the left to earn himself a yellow card.
21'
D. Gastaldello gets yellow.
VERY LUCKY! Inter get right back forward and Kovacic plays a sensational ball through for Icardi, who is then taken down by a desperate Gastadello, who looked be beaten there. The defender was the last man back, and technically denied a clear scoring opportunity, yet the referee only shows him a yellow card.
19'
Inter keep possession well in the final third. Dodo is putting in some wonderful work along the left, allowing them to stay on the ball. They are taking a much more patient approach this time around, but perhaps too patient, as a poor pass runs to Palombo who breaks up the move.
17'
It is end to end action here at the San Siro! Inter get back and win a corner of their own, but Sampdoria clear. As they look to break, Medel tracks back to dispossess Eder, before being taken down in midfield without a foul called. The visitors take advantage and get into attack, but Gabbiadini's footwork lets him down at the vital moment as Inter clear the threat.
15'
The visitors win a corner, which Vidic manages to clear. As it comes out of the area, Medel collect and looks to push forward, but Okaka gets an arm up and looks to have elbowed the Chilean in the face. The midfielder is down and in need of attendance.
13'
GREAT SAVE ROMERO! Dodo makes a lovely run along the left, before cutting a strong pass back for Medel. The midfielder plays Palacio through on goal with a nifty ball, but the striker sees his shot denied by the outstretched leg of Romero!
11'
STAT ATTACK: Inter drew a league high 15 matches last season, while their nine ties at home were also the highest tally in the Serie A. They have three through eight matches this season, putting them on pace for 14.
9'
Sampdoria are coming very close to finding the opening goal, breaking down the Inter defence with ease in the early going. Obiang sends Gabbiadini through on goal, but the forward is adjudged to be offside, before Okaka threads a pass through for Eder, which forces Handanovic to be sharp, bravely diving out to collect.
7'
CLEVER! Gabbiadini does well along the right to find space, before whipping a good diagonal ball into the box. Eder and Okaka attack it, but Handanovic is off his line just in time to collect ahead of the two forwards.
5'
WHAT IS HE DOING!? A Sampdoria turnover in their own end gives the ball away to Kovacic. The midfielder charges in at the defence and plays a superb ball through for Palacio. The striker has a clean look at goal from eight yards out, but opts to play a ball across for Icardi! It is a horrendous pass that comes nowhere near his teammate before running out of play. It really should be 1-0!
3'
Sampdoria do well to win an early corner, but will perhaps regret playing it short, as Inter are quick to press the ball, creating a turnover and moving up the pitch to clear the danger. A quick passing move gets them into the final third, but an errant pass for Dodo runs far for Romero to collect.

Inter kick-off and we are underway at the San Siro! The hosts, moving right to left, are in their classic Nerazzurri striped tops, with Sampdoria wearing all white.
Hello football fans around the world, and welcome to Milan! The San Siro is our venue this evening, playing host to two top three hopefuls as Inter get set to take on an undefeated Sampdoria side. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
Sampdoria kept their unbeaten start to the season alive on the weekend, holding Roma to a scoreless draw. Sinisa Mihajlovic's men actually came very close to taking all three points in the latter stages of the match, but could not finish their chances. They face their toughest road test of the season against Inter, with the chance to stamp their credentials as legitimate contenders in Italy by picking up points at the San Siro this evening.
Mazzari has made just one change to his team following their 1-0 win on the weekend, with Nemanja Vidic replacing Hugo Campagnaro at the back. Hernanes, Mateo Kovacic and Gary Medel make up a lethal central midfield trio, with Joel Obi and Dodo working the flanks. The in form Mauro Icardi pairs with Rodrigo Palacio up top, in a match against his former club.
The visitors have made minimal changes to their team as well, following a hard fought scoreless draw against Roma. Djamel Mesbah, who was used as a substitute on the weekend, replaces Vasco Regini at left-back, while Alfred Duncan returns to the starting XI in place of Roberto Soriano.
Inter are hoping to end their three year Champions League drought by finishing inside the top three this season for the first time since 2010/11. Walter Mazzari's side are off to a less than convincing start in 2014, winning just three of their opening eight matches. It took a red card and a penalty for the Nerazzurri to defeat Cesena on the weekend, so they will be hoping for a much more convincing performance this evening.
The San Siro crowd is buzzing with anticipation, as Javier Zanetti and Erick Thohir watch on from the stands. The players have yet to make their way out of the tunnel, so it looks like we may be running a couple minutes behind.
Finally the players are out onto the pitch and shaking hands. It shouldn't be much longer now!
HALF TIME: INTER 0-0 SAMPDORIA. Both teams look clinical in the final third, however, a lack of finishing has left us scoreless after 45 minutes at the San Siro. There is no doubt the two sides were going for it in the first half, which has made for an incredibly entertaining encounter.
STAT ATTACK: Sampdoria have not won a match against Inter at the San Siro since 1996, a span of 14 games without a victory.
FULL TIME: INTER 1-0 SAMPDORIA. They left it incredibly late, but for the second straight match, a Mauro Icardi penalty gives the Nerazzurri a 1-0 victory. Sampdoria will argue they deserved better, as their protests continue well past the final whistle, but a slew of missed chances by Palacio is really what kept them in it.
Up next for Inter, they travel to Parma on Saturday, while Sampdoria host Fiorentina on Sunday. I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
