Scotland are enjoying some late pressure as the hope to force a second goal. England are holding firm at the back, though, as they have generally throughout the match.
89'
There will be three minutes added on here.
87'
R. Barkley enters the game and replaces J. Wilshere.
Here comes another England change. Wilshere, who had a good game, is replaced by Barkley.
85'
W. Rooney has scored a goal for England! Assist by A. Lallana.
GOAL!!! SCOTLAND'S HOPES DASHED! England restore their two-goal lead to deal a sucker-punch for Scotland. Lallana gets to the byline and cuts a well-placed pass back into the danger area and Rooney is on hand to steer home.
83'
A. Robertson has scored a goal for Scotland! Assist by J. Russell.
GOAL!!! SCOTLAND ARE BACK IN THIS! Lovely move from the hosts as Robertson beats Sterling way too easily and plays Russell into the area. The left-back continues his run into the box and receives the return pass, before slotting home. Game on!
82'
And now Russell replaces Maloney for the Scots.
81'
J. Russell enters the game and replaces S. Maloney.
Scotland deal with the corner, as Gordon comes out and punches clear. England swiftly follow that up with the introduction of Lambert, who replaces Oxlade-Chamberlain.
80'
R. Lambert enters the game and replaces A. Oxlade-Chamberlain.
79'
Good play from Sterling as the Liverpool man gets forward down the left and drills the ball low into the danger zone. Mulgrew intercepts, however, conceding a corner.
Minute
Description
77'
NEARLY A THIRD! Oxlade-Chamberland bursts into the right side of the area after charging away from Robertson. His low delivery is cut out and, although Wilshere pounces, he drags his volley wide from about 12 yards.
74'
WIDE FROM NAISMITH! Brown fires the corner into the area, with the delivery dropped in towards the near post. The Everton forward comes across to meet it, sending the ball just wide of the target.
73'
Corner for Scotland! The ball is chipped into the area and May makes a bit of a nuisance of himself in the centre and England are forced to knock the ball behind.
71'
Good play by Wilshere as the Arsenal man drives forward into the area. He skips past Mulgrew with ease, though Robertson covers well and manages to snuff out the danger.
69'
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this match seems to have lost a bit of its flow and bite. The numerous changes on either side can't have helped the situation, while Scotland are looking a little jaded.
67'
S. May enters the game and replaces G. Hanley.
R. Sterling enters the game and replaces D. Welbeck.
Meanwhile, Hanley departs for May, in what is an attack-minded change from Strachan.
66'
K. Gibbs enters the game and replaces L. Shaw.
And now for a couple of England changes. Welbeck and Shaw make way, with Gibbs and Sterling introduced.
64'
The away fans at Celtic Park are clearly enjoying themselves now. Every England pass is being greeted with a cheer, while Rooney tries his luck from distance, forcing Gordon into an easy save.
62'
Anya is the latest Scot to depart, with Bannan his replacement. That will likely usher in a change of system too.
61'
B. Bannan enters the game and replaces I. Anya.
59'
England quite simply look more up for this. The away side look hungrier when chasing the ball, while Scotland look laboured and dejected. Without Steven Fletcher, they really have struggled in attack.
57'
LET-OFF FOR SCOTLAND! Rooney whips an inviting corner in from the left and Lallana is the one who rises highest to meet it. Under pressure from a defender, he nods just wide. He probably should have done better there.
55'
One suspects that Scotland's win over Ireland took absolutely everything out of them. They look tidy enough in possession, though they are having great difficulty providing service for Naismith and the other forwards.
53'
Sloppy from Wilshere as he surrenders possession in the middle and Naismith pounces. There is no pace in the Scottish attack, though, and the move peters to an end and Jagielka sweeps up.
51'
They almost get an immediate response! A free-kick is lofted into the centre from the left and Russell Martin meets it in the area. His header is tipped over by Forster, though, with the free-kick also coming to nothing as Lallana takes possession away.
49'
That goal will no doubt be tough to take for Scotland, and particularly Strachan. Just a few moments after the restart he sees his men two down. They need to produced an immediate response if they are to get something from this.
47'
W. Rooney has scored a goal for England!
Very cynical foul from Mulgrew as the midfielder comes across and barges Oxlade-Chamberlain to the ground as the Arsenal man threatened to catch Scotland all at sea on the flank.
GOAL!!! ENGLAND GET A SECOND! Milner's free-kick is partially cleared by Scotland, but Shaw smashes the ball back into the danger area and, after a ricochet off Robertson, Rooney heads pas Gordon.
46'
D. Fletcher enters the game and replaces S. Brown.
J. Morrison enters the game and replaces C. Martin.
C. Mulgrew gets yellow.
C. Gordon enters the game and replaces D. Marshall.
A. Lallana enters the game and replaces S. Downing.
P. Jagielka enters the game and replaces G. Cahill.
And we're back underway for the second half.
45' +1
HALF-TIME!
45'
The ball evades several Scots and is eventually pounced upon by Shaw, who charges all the way up to the half-way line, before trying to slip Rooney through. Nevertheless, his pass is cut out by Russell Martin.
44'
Scotland are attempting to produce something of a late surge, as their tempo has increased quite obviously in the last few minutes. Maloney wins a free-kick in a good position just inside from the left after being bundled over by Milner.
42'
Maloney does his best to force the issue, as he receives a pass in a central area after Clyne's surrendering of possession. His eventual shot from 25 yards is sliced harmlessly over the crossbar, much to the annoyance of Strachan.
40'
With about five minutes left of the half, England are certainly good value for their lead. While they haven't exactly dominated their hosts, they've so far looked solid at the back and have not looked particularly worried by the Scots. There is still time for that to change, however.
38'
Another decent move from England, but it doesn't quite come off. Milner is played in towards the edge of the area and, although he shapes to shoot, the Man City midfielder plays a disguised pass into the box for Welbeck, who appears to slip while trying to control it.
36'
Wilshere appears to be in a bit of pain. The midfielder was caught by Naismith, who stole possession back for Scotland. No free-kick was given, though, despite the Arsenal man being hurt.
34'
That goal is a real sucker-punch for the hosts. Although they had not really tested Forster, Scotland had been growing into the match steadily and were starting to give England a tough time. Everything about that goal was brilliant, though.
32'
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored a goal for England! Assist by J. Wilshere.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been rather quiet so far, but he finally comes to life now. The Arsenal man glides past Robertson and fires a cross into the area. Neither Welbeck nor Rooney are anywhere to found, though.
GOAL!!! ENGLAND TAKE THE LEAD! Oxlade-Chamberlain is integral for the second time in the last minute, as the winger times his run perfectly to latch on to Wilshere's delightful lofted pass into the area, meeting the delivery with a glancing header which leaves Marshall helpless.
30'
Free-kick to England out on the right flank, as Milner is caught late by Mulgrew. The set-piece coming to nothing, though, as England play it short and the move swiftly peters out.
29'
That sound you can hear in the distance is Louis van Gaal breathing a significant sigh of relief as Shaw is back on the field, moving relatively freely.
28'
Both of these sides have so far looked more dangerous when trying to catch their opponents on the counterattack. England do generally look comfortable so far, however.
26'
We're back underway and England almost craft a chance immediately. The Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rooney combine as they charge forward, and the United captain feeds Welbeck in towards the area. He produces a stepover to beat Russell Martin, though Whittaker tracks back to good effect.
25'
This doesn't look too good for England, or Manchester United for that matter. Shaw is down and in pain after receiving a bit of a kick from Naismith, resulting in a brief pause.
23'
The hosts are seeing a lot more of the ball now. They work the ball well into a central area with the likes of Brown and Maloney involved. England partially clear, but Scotland remain on the front foot. Eventually Anya gets down the left and wins a corner, which ultimatley comes to nothing.
21'
Scotland are looking particularly dangerous when trying to catch England on the counterattack. On this occasion left-back Robertson is played into the final third and he curls a teasing, low cross into the area. It somehow finds its way through a crowd of players, though.
19'
It's all getting a bit feisty out there now. First Welbeck clatters into Maloney, winning the ball in the process and then just a few moments later their roles are reversed. Whittaker is also involved this time, seemingly kicking out at the Arsenal forward.
17'
Scotland get themselves another corner. Cahill was initially penalised for fouling Martin about 30 yards from goal and from the resulting kick Whittaker saw his long-range effort deflected behind.
16'
Clyne gets his first opportunity to show what he can do in the final third tonight. The right-back is played in and, after taking a touch, a curls a cross into the centre. It's easy pickings for Marshall, though.
15'
There are plenty of angry Scots in the stadium now as Shaw appears to bundle Naismith to the floor, with the striker chasing down a long ball from the back. The referee refuses to give a free-kick, though.
14'
Almost a costly error from Brown as the Scotland captain attempted to help on a cross-field pass. He failed to make a connection, though and Welbeck pounced, playing a first-time pass through to Rooney, who found himself in acres of space between the two centre-halves. The pass, however, is just slightly too heavy.
13'
Scotland work the corner fairly short, with the ball played to the edge of the area. Mulgrew strikes it first-time and gets a good connection on it, though his attempt is blocked fairly easily.
12'
Corner for Scotland. The hosts looked to break upon their visitors after halting an England attack. Naismith plays Anya into the final third down the left flank and the Watford winger wins a corner from Clyne.
10'
Wilshere should do better there. Oxlade-Chamberlain cuts in from the right and lays the ball off to his Arsenal team-mate immediately darting off into the area in expectation of a return pass. The resulting ball goes straight out for a goal-kick, though.
8'
Better from Scotland. The hosts appear to have settle after a shaky start. Anya looks bright on the left and, although his pass over to the right is initially cut out, Shaw's heavy touch is seized upon by Whittaker. England are kept in and around their own area for a brief period, before Anya runs the ball out of play.
6'
ALMOST AN ENGLAND BREAKTHROUGH! Whittaker is robbed on the half-way line by Welbeck, with Downing quick to pounce. He knocks the ball forward to Rooney in swift fashion, and the captain spots the run of his former United colleague. His left-footed effort is stopped unconvincingly by Marshall, but Scotland clear nonetheless.
5'
Rooney's corner delivery is a decent one. The ball is lofted deep into the area and Cahill rises above everyone to meet it, but his header goes just wide of the top-left corner. That was a decent effort.
3'
Encouraging move from England. Rooney peels out to the left and cuts inside, but he picks out a reverse pass into the area for the overlapping Shaw. The left-back's low cross is cut out by Russell Martin, who concedes a corner.

2'
There is Downing's welcome back to international football. His touch is very heavy out on the left flank and Maloney closes on him in a shot, crunching into the West Ham man fairly.
1'
Off we go! England get the match started to a chorus of jeers in Glasgow.
Hello and welcome to the LIVE text commentary of a rather special international friendly, as Scotland host England at Celtic Park. These two great rivals and neighbours have not faced each other for 15 years and we are sure to be treated to an emotionally charged encounter. My name is Ryan Benson and I shall be describing the action for you as it happens.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Scotland starting XI (4-5-1): Marshall; Whittaker, R. Martin, Hanley, Robertson; Brown, Mulgrew; Maloney, Naismith, Anya; C. Martin.
Scotland manager has named an almost-unchanged side from the team which beat the Republic of Ireland in their latest qualifier, with Steven Fletcher the only to miss out from that starting XI. The Sunderland man is injured and sees his place taken by Chris Martin in attack. The rest of the team is exactly the same, as Scotland look to put England under as much pressure as possible.
England, meanwhile, have made a few changes from their 3-1 win over Slovenia. Joe Hart has returned to his club, with Fraser Forster taking his place in goal, while Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling also come into the defence. In midfield, Wilshere is partnered by James Milner and Stewart Downing, with the latter winning his first cap since 2012. Welbeck and Rooney retain their places in attack and they are joined by Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Despite what is generally regarded as the oldest rivalry in international football, these two sides have not met each other since they clashed in a Euro 2000 qualifying play-off, which England ultimately edged. Although today's clash is only a friendly, a fierce, hot-tempered and frantic match is expected by most. Can these two sides meet expectations and produce a match to savour? Stay tuned and find out!
The teams walk out of the tunnel to a huge roar from the supporters in Glasgow. Kick-off is just a few moments away as we await the respective national anthems.
The referee blows his whistle to end a somewhat underwhelming first half. For all the pre-match build-up regarding this rivalry, the match has been a little flat. Nevertheless, England take a deserved 1-0 lead into the break thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's fine header in the 32nd minute. Scotland have had their moments in possession, but they have seriously struggled to break down the visitors' defence. Roy Hodgson's men have been unspectacular, but solid.
Full-time at Celtic Park as England claim what was, in truth, a fairly comfortable 3-1 win. It was a deserved triumph for Hodgson's men too, as Rooney & Co. controlled the match almost right from the start. Two goals from the captain and one from Oxlade-Chamberlain did the damage, with Robertson's fine strike ultimately counting as nothing more than a consolation. In the end England's quality shone through, bringing Scotland crashing back to Earth after an encouraging start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
