Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today's Premier League game between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino's men head to Stamford Bridge in a disappointing ninth place but have the opportunity to climb as high as sixth if they are able to win against their high-flying opponents and their North London rivals Arsenal are beaten by Southampton in their game at the Emirates Stadium this evening. After a disappointing and lacklustre start to the season, Tottenham have won both of their last two league clashes - against Hull City and Everton, respectively - but they will be well aware that there is plenty of work still to do. A victory tonight will be far from easy, however, as they haven't won against Chelsea in a competitive game in over four and a half years, whilst the Blues haven't been beaten by Spurs at Stamford Bridge since 1990.
Chelsea are cruising at the top of the Premier League table, already 13 points clear of Tottenham heading into tonight's clash, but last week saw them struggle for arguably the first time this season, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Sunderland in a tense affair at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The game marked the first time that the West Londoners have failed to score this season, and they could struggle again tonight due to the absence of star striker Diego Costa, who is suspended for this evening's clash after picking up five yellow cards. The impressive Spaniard has scored 11 of Chelsea's 30 league goals this campaign, and it will be interesting to see how they cope in his absence against a Tottenham side that have looked far more confident and assured in recent weeks.

There's just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let's have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening...
Tottenham Hotspur XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Chiriches, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Mason, Bentaleb; Lamela, Eriksen, Lennon; Kane.
Tottenham Hotspur substitutes: Vorm, Dier, Kaboul, Naughton, Chadli, Paulinho, Soldado.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made just one change to the side that were held to a 0-0 draw by Sunderland in their last Premier League outing, with Didier Drogba coming into the squad to replace the suspended Costa.
Meanwhile, Pochettino has made also made one change to the Tottenham side that started the 2-1 win against Everton, with Roberto Soldado, who scored in that game, dropping to the substitutes' bench to be replaced by Erik Lamela.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 2-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
After weathering an early storm from the hosts, Tottenham arguably looked the more dangerous of the two sides in the opening 10 minutes of the game, with Kane coming incredibly close to giving the visitors the lead when he hit the crossbar with a stunning header. But it all changed shortly after that, and Chelsea dominated the remainder of the half, running their opponents ragged and causing them a plethora of problems in the final third of the pitch. They go into the half-time break with a well-deserved 2-0 lead, and, even with 45 minutes left to play, it's difficult to see Tottenham finding any way back into the game against such an impressive, and relentless, Blues side.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch, with just a few moments to go until the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 3-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Chelsea's dominance at the top of the Premier League continues to roll on thanks to another incredibly impressive win this evening, which was made even easier by a Tottenham side that started well but ended up crumbling under the pressure that the hosts exerted on them. The victory is the Blues' fourth in their last five league games, and the well-deserved clean sheet is their fourth in a row in all competitions.
Manchester City's victory against Sunderland tonight means that Chelsea remain six points clear of the second-place side heading into their game against Newcastle United on Saturday, whilst Tottenham, who are in action against Crystal Palace this weekend, drop to 10th place as a result of this evening's defeat.
My name is Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing all of the action to you this evening. Until next time, goodbye!
