Jese uses his teammates as decoys as he cuts in from the right flank, but whips it just shy of the far post. A few seconds later and that will do it.
90'
The big board is up and the sadistic fourth official signals for two added minutes.
88'
I think Ronaldo's getting to Corona. The keeper is faced with a pretty standard set piece from the Portuguese but panics, pushing the ball awkwardly away from goal.
86'
Barrera forgets to stay in his lane and lets rip from at least 30 yards, with Casillas needing binoculars to see where that one landed.
84'
Well wouldn't that have just iced it. Ronaldo the Generous tees one up for the monstrous head of Khedira, but even he can't do much more than rattle the Cruz Azul woodwork.
82'
Cruz Azul finally orchestrate something other than humiliation with a methodical buildup in the opposition half. It's so uninspired that even Dominguez can't be bothered to keep the ball in play.
80'
Not a whole lot happening out on the pitch so far, and I think that not much is going to change in the final 10 minutes from what you saw in the first 80. Do Madrid really want a fifth?
78'
Oof. Carvajal almost puts the ball into his own net and he can afford a smile at Casillas with all the cockiness that a 4-0 lead can muster.
76'
I. Valadéz enters the game and replaces J. Rojas.
Jesé enters the game and replaces Isco.
It could have all been so different for the Mexican side had Torrado buried that penalty when presented with the opportunity. That would have made it 2-1 and who knows with that narrow advantage?
74'
Yes, okay Cruz Azul, we get it, Madrid are good. Now can you please try something different? Lump the ball forward, start racking up red cards until the referee has to abandon the game, anything but this domination.
Minute
Description
73'
S. Khedira enters the game and replaces T. Kroos.
72'
Isco has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Cristiano Ronaldo.
THAT'S FOUR! Classic Isco. No pace to speak of but he doesn't need it. With the ball duck taped to his right boot he shimmies his way past three players before flicking the ball into the bottom corner.
70'
Twenty minutes left but it might as well be 200 as far as la Maquina are concerned. I mean, the Madrid fans really ought to tip their players for this virtuoso display.
68'
Free kick coughed up about 25 yards from goal and the Madrid murderer's row steps up to the plate. It's Bale who wins the honours, but he siphons it well over the crossbar.
66'
Not much has changed out on the pitch as Real Madrid look to be cooking up crazier ways to put a fourth goal on the board. I don't think Cruz Azul have crossed the halfway line for at least 10 minutes.
65'
P. Barrera enters the game and replaces M. Pavone.
M. Fabián enters the game and replaces C. Giménez.
64'
R. Varane enters the game and replaces Sergio Ramos.
A host of substitutions from both teams give us some time to digest that last Ronaldo effort. Who even has time to think up that stuff these days?
62'
Okay folks, I'm done. Bale keeps himself onside down the left and his clip is honed perfectly for Ronaldo at the far post. CR7 doesn't flinch and attempts a rabona finish on the volley. Corona smothers though, probably the only time that a bottle of beer spoiled the party.
60'
Every time Madrid attack, the defence of Cruz Azul seems to be sucked into a black hole. Ronaldo has all the time he needs to latch one up for Bale at the far post, but the ex-Spurs man plants his header right down Corona's bottleneck.
58'
Bale looks strangely leaden-footed with a run down the right but it's still enough to purchase a free kick off a beleaguered Gimenez. Madrid can't profit from the set piece though.
56'
Training exercise for Madrid at the moment as they ping the ball from left to right, making the Mexican side run their collective tank dry chasing shadows. I mean, this could get ugly.
54'
Chaco fouls Carvajal in midfield and the Cruz Azul man attempts to make amends right away, but the right back caught some feelings off that challenge and brushes his hand away.
52'
Not going to lie, that goal has been coming since the first half. Cruz Azul haven't learned their lesson although I'm not sure what more they can do with the gap in quality so great.
50'
G. Bale has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Cristiano Ronaldo.
DIDN'T TAKE LONG, IT'S THREE! At full throttle down the right, Ronaldo lifts his head at just the right moment and picks a peach out for Bale at the far post. Mr. Welsh does the rest and all of Corona's tentacles can't keep out that one.
48'
The chase is on for Cruz Azul to get back in this game but that in itself is playing Russian roulette against probably the best counter-attacking side the world has seen this season.
46'
The referee gets us started again.
45' +1
Madrid fling a pair of crosses from either side into the box but there's no nibble, and the half ends.
44'
Benzema sizes up his options at the top of the box and with Ronaldo making that oh-so-typical run into the box from the left, the French striker tries to pick him out. The luckiest of deflections prevents the completion of the pass and probably a third goal.
42'
Bow-legged Ronaldo steps up to bury a free kick but he just misses the top corner. A foot too high, and I'm not sure that Corona had that completely covered even though he made the dive.
40'
Penalty saved by Casillas!
SAVED! A massive opportunity for Cruz Azul is thrown back into the sea as Torrado's basic penalty is pushed wide by Casillas, who dived correctly to his right.
39'
Sergio Ramos gets yellow.
PENALTY FOR CRUZ AZUL! Poor Ramos was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he chased Pavone in the box, always a step behind the play. The striker goes down and it might have been of his own accord, but since the defender put a hand on his shoulder, the referee had no choice. The yellow comes out as well.
38'
That was so, so pretty and it could be more before the referee puts the first half out of its' misery. After a Maquina attack shockingly breaks down, Madrid nearly execute again on a three-on-three break, but for Benzema's final ball.
36'
K. Benzema has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Dani Carvajal.
THAT'S ANOTHER FOR REAL! Carvajal gets his machete out and just carves his way down the right. After beating two men he lofts the perfect ball back into the six-yard area that is just begging to be smashed. Benzema obliges.
34'
Carvajal launches some artillery from the right flank. He finds Benz rampaging down the left flank completely unmarked, but the Frenchman's one-touch cutback finds no takers.
32'
Just when the tide looked like turning, Isco spies Benzema at the top of the box and feeds the Frenchman for a shot that he nearly feasts off, but for a pair of strong palms by Corona.
30'
This is excellent stuff from the Mexicans considering their start to the game. They're starting to stretch los Blancos at both corners and all of a sudden it looks a little chilly in the Real world.
28'
That pocket rocket Rojas has been Cruz Azul's most dangerous player in this half. All those advances down the right have been signed and delivered by him. On his latest advance, he scrambles Marcelo before a desperate block from Ramos prevents Casillas from having to work.
26'
Madrid are looking really well-drilled defensively, as they are quick to get bodies inside the passing lanes whenever Cruz Azul try to move the ball outside of their own half, even for just a moment.
24'
Kroos takes the next corner but the ball pops out of the danger zone. Bale is looking at the referee with a hurt look in his eyes. He's claiming that he's been struck in the head. That was me, I just couldn't stand the short-order cook headband any longer.
22'
Strong header from Rodriguez to guide the ball away from a throng of white shirts. It's coming right back at them though.
21'
All of this and we haven't even had a Bale sighting yet. He's about to take this quick corner, hold your breath.
19'
To be completely fair to la Maquina, they have made brief inroads down the right-hand side, twice, by my count. The crosses have come in but they seem to have taken the rest of the team by surprise. No blue shirts in the box.
17'
Is that the first of many? Didn't take Madrid long, and credit to them for putting the Mexican side to the sword right away. On the basis of play so far I have no idea how Cruz Azul are getting back into this game.
15'
Sergio Ramos has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by T. Kroos.
OPENER! MADRID IN FRONT! It's just too simple as Ramos rises to head in Kroos' cross with Corona stranded on his own personal beach.
13'
Some real showboating from los Blancos as they continue to boss Cruz Azul around the pitch. It's every bit as one-sided as the pre-match heralds of doom would have had you believe.
11'
Cruz Azul are left in the dark at the back as Benzema is found at the near post after a nifty run, but the Frenchman can't crack the nut from that angle. Side netting and a let off for the Mexican side.
9'
Ancelotti's first touch is so good, it's a pity it was in front of his dugout rather than cutting in from the wing as a high ball came towards him. Loud cheer from the crowd.
7'
Big boy run from Benzema into the box from the left flank but he's stopped by a grown man challenge from Flores.
5'
This has been almost all Real Madrid since the first whistle, which is really only shocking if you've lived under a rock. Just wave after wave of white shirts looking for that back-breaking opening.
3'
RONALDO NEARLY SLAMS IN AN EARLY OPENER! Carvajal scoops the pass to the far post where Benzema springs to knock it back into the mixer. Ronaldo does everything he can to turn it goalwards but he punts it right at Corona!
1'
We're off!
Hello and welcome to the semi-finals of the Club World Cup as Real Madrid take on Cruz Azul. We're at the Stade de Marrakech for this match as the Spanish giants embark on their quest for their maiden title in this competition. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
This is only the second time that Real Madrid are involved in this competition, after their initial foray in 2000 following their Champions League title ended with a fourth-placed finish. Cruz Azul are in their first-ever appearance in this tourney, having already beaten Western Sydney Wanderers 3-1 after extra time in the quarter-finals.
The Club World Cup is being hosted in Morocco for the second year running. Cruz Azul's game against WSW in Rabat was rained out, and played on such a swamp of a pitch, that tonight's fixture was moved to Marrakech in case some actual football breaks out.
Though Real Madrid have never won this competition, they did win its previous incarnation, the Intercontinental Cup, three times. Whatever the name, six of the past seven editions of this tourney have been clinched by teams from Europe.
Los Blancos are coming into this game on a 20-match unbeaten streak in all competitions which has seen them through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and helped them establish a four-point lead over Barcelona at the Liga summit.
Cruz Azul, meanwhile, had won only one in six before dispatching WSW in the previous round. The Mexican side really only have their own fan base and chemically imbalanced punters backing them to pull off a massive upset against the might of Madrid.
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Casillas; Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Illarramendi, Isco; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
Strong lineup from the Spanish giants. James Rodriguez and Sami Khedira were expected to miss this game, so Isco plays in midfield with Toni Kroos and Asier Illarramendi. It's the usual BBC front three from Carlo Ancelotti, who doesn't look in the mood to be charitable.
Comfortable and not too complacent from Madrid, who look well on their way to doing what everyone expects of them. Ramos and Benzema delivered the goods so far, although the former conceded a penalty that was still saved by Casillas. More of the same as far as Ancelotti will be concerned.
Madrid show no mercy and handle their business in Morocco. Four goals and an exhibition of all the quality that money can buy. They're through to the final of the Club World Cup and make it 21 wins on the bounce.
Cruz Azul were outclassed and allowed themselves to be. No defending them after that hot mess we witnessed. Their media office is probably burning copies of the game footage already.
That's my cue, I've been Keeghann Sinanan and I hope you enjoyed our time together. If you didn't we can't be friends anymore. So long.
