Belotti denied by the offside flag! The substitute thinks that he is in the clear, but the linesman pulls him back! That was exceptionally close and the Palermo man would have been in one-on-one with De Sanctis.
90' +3
M. Destro gets yellow.
Pjanic tries to clip a speculative through ball into the penalty area, but Sorrentino is more than happy to watch it run directly out of play for a goal kick. Destro picks up a yellow card for a clash with Vitiello.
90' +1
We're into the first of five minutes of stoppage time. Plenty of opportunity for either side to grab a winner!
90'
Strootman gives away a free kick and earns himself a yellow card, before Maresca delivers the ball. Gonzalez directs a header square across goal, but De Sanctis rises well to claim.
89'
K. Strootman gets yellow.
88'
Pjanic decides to shoot from a 30-yard free kick, but the Roma midfielder sends his dead-ball effort almost into orbit. Absolutely horrendous waste from the Bosnia international.
86'
R. Quaison enters the game and replaces F. Vázquez.
Roma are being forced to chase and press if they are to see enough of the ball to generate goalscoring chances. Destro is found by a ball lumped up into the box, but the Italian forward can only flick it on rather than divert it towards goal!
84'
Totti tries to rob Maresca of the ball, but the two veterans collide as a result of a trip from the Roma substitute. Just over five minutes of normal time remain for Garcia's men to keep the pressure up on Juve.
83'
F. Daprelà enters the game and replaces A. Lazaar.
82'
Destro manages to win a corner at the byline for Roma, as the Giallorossi continue to press forward in search of a winner. Totti whips two set piece deliveries into the near-post area, but neither result in a chance.
Minute
Description
80'
F. Totti enters the game and replaces A. Ljajić.
Good effort from Holebas! The Greece international is found racing down the left-hand side, taking the ball down on his chest, before firing a half-volley wide of the near post! Garcia now decides to utilise his final change and it's Totti who is introduced for the last ten minutes.
79'
Maicon enters the game and replaces L. Paredes.
78'
Paredes goes down in his own half, with the Argentine midfielder suffering from a touch of cramp. Garcia opts to make a change as a result, with Maicon replacing the Boca loanee. That should mean that Florenzi pushes into midfield as a result.
76'
Time is running slightly low for Roma, with the Giallorossi having around a quarter of an hour to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Chances are very thin on the ground, with the dying embers of this game perhaps at risk of becoming limited and cagey.
75'
A. Belotti enters the game and replaces P. Dybala.
D. Verde enters the game and replaces J. Iturbe.
74'
Vitiello makes a good block to deny Destro! The Roma striker takes a touch out of his feet before pivotting smartly, but his eventual shot is charged down well. Iachini decides to withdraw Dybala, with Belotti replacing the Palermo goalscorer.
72'
Dybala tries to combine with Barreto once again, but the Paraguayan midfielder's return pass is awful. Such has been the service into the Argentine forward in this second half, that he can't be blamed for trying to do a bit too much on his own in future.
70'
Florenzi makes a hurried clearance at the back post, after a searching cross from Morganella made its way into the Roma penalty box. Moments later, Rigoni clips a delivery in, but De Sanctis is able to claim at the first time of asking.
68'
Florenzi drives down the right-hand side brilliantly, before blasting a near-post effort way over the crossbar - with the linesman's flag sparing his blushes anyway. A quick ball in behind the Roma defence looks for Vazquez, but De Sanctis gets to it first.
66'
This game has definitely become cagey since the equaliser, with neither side wanting to commit too many players forward in case they're caught out. Barreto and Dybala combine well, but a pass from the Paraguayan into the path of Vazquez is too heavy.
64'
Chances have dried up of late, with Roma willing to slow play down in an attempt to draw Palermo's players further upfield. Garcia still has Totti available from the bench, should he need him, to create something out of nothing.
63'
A. Lazaar gets yellow.
62'
Less than half an hour remains for Roma to complete their comeback, with Palermo struggling to find a foothold in the second half. The Giallorossi need three points in order to temporarily draw level with Juventus in the Serie A table and put pressure on Massimiliano Allegri's men.
60'
Good save from De Sanctis! Dybala manages to get in behind Mapou, before the Argentine is denied by the splayed out goalkeeper! The Palermo forward tries to poke a finish through his legs, but De Sanctis makes a solid stop to keep Roma's momentum intact!
59'
Paredes musters up a shot from long range, but the ball bounces off the surface and up to a comfortable height for Sorrentino to catch. Roma are much more positive now and are unafraid to try and test the Palermo goalkeeper. Moments later, Iturbe sees a 25-yard attempt blocked.
58'
This really has been a game of two halves, with Roma now enjoying more meaningful possession while Dybala has faded from recent memory. Garcia must have had some choice words to say in the visiting dressing room at the interval!
56'
Iturbe sprints down the left-hand side, before delivering a cross, but Sorrentino is able to collect at his near post. Roma have taken great encouragement from their equaliser, with white shirts quick to stream forward now.
54'
M. Destro has scored a goal for Roma! Assist by K. Strootman.
GOOOOOOOOAL! DESTRO MAKES IT 1-1! A Pjanic free kick is floated in towards the back post, before the ball is squared back across the goalmouth by Strootman, allowing for Destro to stab home an untidy finish! The Giallorossi are back level from nowhere!
53'
Pjanic hits the target! The Bosnia international lets fly from 20 yards out, but the Palermo goalkeeper is easily able to catch. Roma finally manage to test Sorrentino, but they've got much more work to do if they are to actually find the back of the net.
51'
Florenzi tries to clip a ball down the line for Pjanic to chase, but Sorrentino is alert to the danger and scampers from his line to collect on the periphery of his area.
50'
Strootman goes down in a heap and receives some treatment, after taking a blow to the face, but should be fine to continue. Garcia has plenty of substitutes out warming up as it appears the Giallorossi need a freshen up of ideas and personnel.
48'
Mapou tries his luck ambitiously from 30 yards out, blasting the ball high and wide of the target! Absolute stupidity for the Frenchman to shoot from there. Roma continue to search for their elusive first shot on target.
47'
Ljajic and Iturbe combine inside the Palermo penalty box, but the latter takes an errant touch and the hosts are unable to clear their lines. Moments later, Destro heads over the crossbar from 12 yards out, following a good cross from Holebas.
46'
We are back underway in the second half! Palermo hold a slender 1-0 advantage and need to double their lead sooner rather than later, before Garcia has opportunity to look for other options from his bench.
45' +1
M. Morganella gets yellow.
45'
Dybala shows yet another lovely flick, as the hosts continue to give their star striker the ball and let him do the rest. Morganella whips a ball across to Lazaar, who beats Florenzi to deliver a cross, but De Sanctis claims easily.
43'
Dybala continues to make Astori's life hell, with this first half really being his show. The Argentine is happy to come deep and collect the ball, before showing flashes of pace and skill to drag the hosts upfield. Strootman and Destro nearly combine well, but the Dutchman's return pass is terrible and heads straight into the gloves of Sorrentino.
41'
Less than five minutes remain until the break, with Roma still prodding and probing what is a solid Palermo outfit. Sorrentino has had nothing of note to do, with Destro involved extremely sparingly.
39'
Good save from De Sanctis to deny Barreto! The Brazilian unleashes a powerful header from 12 yards out, which forces the former Napoli goalkeeper to dive to his right and claim!
38'
Dybala shows a lovely piece of skill, with the Argentine using a volleyed backheel to keep the momentum of a break going. He really has been imperious thus far, Astori can't get anywhere near him without committing a foul.
36'
Dybala, Vazquez and Maresca continue to combine well, with the Argentine duo appearing to have real chemistry and understanding. There appears to be more goals in this one, but only for the Rosanero. Destro is nearly found by a cross from the left, but Andelkovic outmuscles his man.
34'
Roma are being afforded space to retain possession, but as soon as the Giallorossi press into the opposition half, the hosts step up. By inviting Garcia's men to attack, it provides space for Dybala and Vazquez to exploit on the break. Palermo are playing this game by their own rules.
32'
The opening half an hour has been perfect for Palermo, with Sorrentino untested and Roma struggling to string any kind of meaningful passes of play together. Dybala's goal remains the difference, with Iachini's side able to exploit the lack of a solid defensive midfield on the break.
30'
Big chance for Destro! The Italy international is slid through on goal by a wonderful pass from Ljajic, but can't sort his feet out deep within the opposition penalty area. Sorrentino is able to smother the loose ball.
29'
Roma are really having trouble in midfield, with the absence of Daniele De Rossi and Seydou Keita far too glaring. Radja Nainggolan is another absentee, with the current trio in the centre of the park unable to get the contest under control. Chances just aren't flowing.
27'
Vazquez wins a free kick for the hosts, as Palermo continue to look far more threatening than Serie A's second-placed side. Maresca stands over it and attempts to chip a cheeky pass into Dybala's feet, but the 34-year-old's ball is far too heavy and Roma have a goal kick.
25'
Florenzi overlaps down the right and then beats Maresca, before taking a stray touch and having possession stolen from his path. Palermo try and break quickly, but Vazquez's ball inside to Dybala is slightly too far behind his strike partner and the counter slows.
23'
Iturbe is found out wide on the right-hand side, before cutting onto his left foot and delivering a cross. Gonzalez heads away under considerable pressure from Destro, as Roma continue to be thwarted in front of goal.
22'
Holebas puts the ball behind for a corner, but De Sanctis is easily able to claim the resulting set piece delivery. The goalkeeper looks for Iturbe from his hands quickly, but the Argentine is unable to bring the ball under his spell in order to counter.
20'
The home crowd are making plenty of noise, as Iachini's men continue to look very comfortable. Three points could temporarily push Palermo into sixth place ahead of the rest of this weekend's Serie A fixtures. It would be wrong to consider the hosts as total underdogs.
18'
Florenzi tries to float in a cross from the right-hand side, but it is half-cleared before Barreto does the rest. Palermo try to break, but Dybala is brilliantly tackled by Paredes. Roma are still struggling to impose themselves on this contest.
16'
Astori clips a lofted ball forward for Ljajic to chase, but it is far too heavy and rolls behind for a goal kick. The Italy international has had an absolutely torrid start to the game, with his distribution causing more harm than good.
14'
Ljajic drives at Vitiello, but the Italian defender makes a block to deny the Serbia international's cross. Roma win a corner, which is whipped in, but a wayward header causes Sorrentino no distress. The hosts are enjoying themselves at the moment, with Vazquez and Dybala linking up well.
13'
Lazaar clips a cross into the back post area, but De Sanctis is quick off his line to claim above a couple of other bodies. Roma are really struggling to brand their dominance on the game, with Paredes having a very quiet first Serie A start thus far.
12'
M. Yanga-Mbiwa gets yellow.
Mapou picks up a very early yellow card, as the Frenchman clatters through the back of Dybala rather rashly. The former Newcastle defender may feel slightly hard done to, but there was no need to make the challenge.
10'
Pjanic shoots from the edge of the box, but fails to hit the target, as the Giallorossi start to show signs of clunking into gear. Destro breaks down the right and tries to cut back a cross, but Ljajic is unable to control inside in the penalty area.
8'
Palermo continue to cause a few problems in the early stages, with Morganella and Lazaar trying to get involved. There's a brief stoppage in play, as Iturbe puts a clumsy challenge in on Maresca, with the experienced midfielder looking to be in some discomfort. He leaves the field under his own steam.
6'
Lazaar cuts a cross infield, but Mapou controls and clears. Morganella then tries an outrageous effort from long range, but sends the ball hurtling high and wide into the stands behind De Sanctis' net.
4'
Well, Garcia's men certainly have it all to do now, with Astori bound to come in for some deserved criticism once again. A makeshift back four was always going to be tested early on by Palermo, but De Sanctis has only touched the ball while picking it out of his own net!
2'
P. Dybala has scored a goal for Palermo! Assist by F. Vázquez.
GOOOOOOOOOOAL! DYBALA MAKES IT 1-0 IN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES! That's his tenth goal of the season and the hosts have a very early lead! The Argentine forward is fed in after a terrible pass from Astori is intercepted easily, before applying a calm finish!
1'
We are underway in the first half! Palermo are wearing their home strip of pale pink, while Roma are in their changed kit of white.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of tonight's late Serie A kick off, as Roma travel to Palermo in an attempt to maintain their pace near the summit of the Italian top flight. Juventus sit three points ahead of the Giallorossi, meaning that Rudi Garcia's men have to keep winning and hoping that the Bianconeri slip up themselves. The hosts, meanwhile, are making a charge for European football.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from Stadio Renzo Barbera, as Palermo look to maintain their impressive recent home form. Five wins from their last six Serie A matches on familiar turf have propelled Giuseppe Iachini's side ever-closer to the congested pack which are chasing a European league finish.
TEAM NEWS: Paulo Dybala is the man to watch for the home side, with the Argentine receiving plenty of attention for his recent goalscoring form. Enzo Maresca and Luca Rigoni provide the experience in midfield, while Michel Morganella and Achraf Lazaar offer width to stretch the opposition.
TEAM NEWS: Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa comes back into the centre of defence for the visitors, with Alessandro Florenzi slotting in at right-back instead of Maicon. Leandro Paredes is given a chance to debut in midfield alongside Kevin Strootman and Miralem Pjanic, while Adem Ljajic and Juan Manuel Iturbe provide width in Gervinho's AFCON-related absence. Mattia Destro leads the line, with Francesco Totti taking a seat on the bench.
HALF TIME! The home side look very good value for their 1-0 lead at the break, with goalscorer Dybala absolutely imperious for Palermo. Roma just haven't exerted any control in this game, with Destro cutting a very frustrated figure as he leaves the field of play. The Giallorossi need to improve massively to turn this one around.
FULL TIME! Roma drop two points in the chase for the Scudetto, with an impressive first-half performance from Palermo frustrating Garcia's men. Goals from Dybala and Destro ensured that the two sides couldn't separate themselves, with a point probably the fair result. That's all that we have time for from Serie A's late kick off, I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time!
