Referee Carlos Velasco sounds his whistle bringing an end to the match at White Hart Lane!
90' +1
Into the first of three minutes of added time, and frustration starts to grow for the home fans as Soldado slips and runs a ball out of play for a Fiorentina throw. The hosts get back into attack and Joaquin tees up Fernandez, but the midfielder drives his shot just wide of the near post.
89'
FIRED OVER! The two teams look tired and ready to call it a night, but Salah is still full of running. He picks up a pass from 30 yards out and turns on the jets to get into space for a shot, but his effort sails harmlessly over the bar as the chance comes to nothing.
87'
Tottenham win a corner and pack bodies inside the penalty area. They certainly have had a penchant for late goals this season, but it won't come with this chance as Lamela's delivery is poor and Tatarusanu collects easily.
85'
J. Iličić enters the game and replaces M. Gómez.
The final change is made by both teams. Josip Ilicic comes on to replace Mario Gomez, while Ryan Mason steps on as Paulinho gives way. Can either side find a dramatic, late winner?
84'
R. Mason enters the game and replaces Paulinho.
83'
JUST NEEDED A TOUCH! More prominent build up play from Fiorentina as Joaquin makes a great run before sliding Alonso through on the left. He sends a ball across the face of goal to pick out the run of Gomez, but the striker cannot get the decisive touch!
81'
WASTED OPPORTUNTY! The ball falls kindly for Salah following a cornr. He skips past Bentaleb, but passes up a great shooting chance before his final touch runs too far, allowing Tottenham to clear their lines. Into the final 10 minutes now and still nothing to separate the two sides.
79'
Fiorentina make their second switch of the match, and it is another like-for-like switch. Milan Badlej comes on to replace Borja Valero in midfield. The Croatian is making his sixth appearance in the competition for the Viola but has yet to get himself a goal.
78'
M. Badelj enters the game and replaces Borja Valero.

Description
77'
STAT ATTACK: Fiorentina have split their four all-time visits to England equally, with two victories and two defeats. Their most recent trip came in the 2009 Europa League group stage where they defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield. Their only trip to London came in the 1999 Champions League group stage – they recorded a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Highbury.
75'
Tottenham are continuing their pursuit of a late winner, but despite spending more time in attack, it is Fiorentina who are looking a bit more dangerous when they get forward. Lamela quickly makes his presence felt, but a shot from 20 yards out rolls harmlessly wide, much to the dismay of his teammates.
73'
É. Lamela enters the game and replaces A. Townsend.
CHANCES AT BOTH ENDS! Townsend gets on the end of a cross in from the left, but his header is sent straight at Tatarusanu who then starts Fiorentina foward. Alonso finds space on the flank and picks out a wide-open Salah in the area, but his first touch is poor and the chance comes to nothing!
71'
TOO LONG! The visitors are looking very dangerous on the counter! They are pushing men forward and looking to attack very quickly. Valero makes a great run forward and has Joaquin in acres of space on the left, but spots his run too late as Walker is able to recover. They had waves of purple shirts in attack there so that was a real letdown.
69'
WASTED OPPORTUNITY! Following an abysmal dive from Townsend, Fiorentina break quickly on a counter. Fernandez picks out the run of Gomez, who bursts into the area via the left channel. He twists and turns to create space for a shot, but gets it all wrong in the end, missing at the near post and never testing Lloris.
67'
At first glance, it does not appear as though Tottenham have changed their formation with the addition of a second striker. It looks like Eriksen is taking over Chadli's spot on the left, with Kane slotting in just behind Soldado.
66'
H. Kane enters the game and replaces N. Chadli.
Marcos Alonso enters the game and replaces M. Pasqual.
65'
The two sides each make a change with 25 minutes left. Harry Kane comes on to a roar of anticipation from the home supporters, replacing Nacer Chadli. For Fiorentina, captain Manuel Pasqual is withdrawn in favour of Marcos Alonso.
63'
Fiorentina are taking a much different approach to their attacking play in this second half, looking to try and hit quickly on the counter. They would be more than content with taking a draw back to Italy, but conceding a second would change the scope of the second leg completely.
61'
BLASTED OVER! Walker and Paulinho link up well atop the area before the defender slips Townsend through on the right. His cross fails to pick out a teammate as Savic heads clear, but only into the path of Bentaleb who lashes a volley a couple feet over the bar.
59'
Tottenham are enjoying the bulk of possession with the hour mark approaching, but are finding it very hard to try and break down this wall of Fiorentina defenders. They are still finding space along the flanks, but posing very little threat with their balls into the area.
57'
The high-flying pace of the first half has not carried into the second, though it has not gone away altogether. Both teams appear a bit more conscious at the back, instead of sending waves of men forward. The next goal is a big one and neither team wants to concede it.
55'
TOO CUTE! Eriksen opts not to try and send Soldado through on goal, instead having a go himself. His shot is blocked, but the pressure remains on and he finds himself in a promising position inside the area. This time, however, he passes up a shot and tries to slide the ball into the path of the striker but there are too many purple shirts around as the danger is cleared.
53'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have lost just one of their last 16 Europa League matches in North London, against Benfica in the quarter-finals of last season’s competition (W12, D3). They have scored three goal or more 10 times over that span while being held scoreless just once, in a 0-0 draw against Lazio.
51'
Back the other way come Tottenham and Savic is forced into a tackle to slow the counter. He pick up a yellow card, the second member of the Fiorentina back line to have been issued a caution.
50'
S. Savić gets yellow.
SUPERB DELIVERY! Fiorentina win a corner and it is sent into a very dangerous area at the near post. There is a mess of bodies there and Lloris cannot get to it, but it does not take a kind bounce for the visitors before Soldado manages to scramble clear.
48'
CLOSE! Joaquin makes a strong run down the flank before picking out Salah atop the area. The forward hits a shot first time, but curls it just inches wide of the near post! Lloris appeared to be beaten there.
46'
Tottenham get the second half underway at White Hart Lane.
45'
The referee sounds his whistle right at 45 minutes and this exciting first half comes to a close.
44'
INCREDIBLY UNLUCKY! TOTTENHAM SHOULD BE BACK IN FRONT! Tatarasanu makes a fine save to deny a Soldado header, but makes a real mess with the rebound, pushing it straight into the path of Chadli. The Belgian is surprised by the chance, but manages to knock the ball towards goal. It strikes the underside of the bar and lands just in front of the line, miraculously staying out!
42'
Fiorentina are enjoying the better of play now with half time approaching. The Italian side are looking quite confident in possession, forcing Tottenham to chase. The shape this game is taking on suggests there will be more goals to come in the second half.
40'
STAT ATTACK: Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last 12 Europa League matches away from home (W8, D4). They have kept five clean sheets over that span while never conceding more than a single goal. Their last away defeat in the competition came at the hands of Everton in 2008, but they went on to win in a penalty shootout at Goodison and advance to the next round.
38'
The visiting fans are chanting in full force now, as they know just how crucial that away goal could prove to be! They are full of confidence now having pulled level before the break, and certainly do not appear satisfied just yet as they push forward to try and get another.
36'
J. Basanta has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by S. Savić.
BASANTA BUNDLES THE REBOUND HOME AND FIORENTINA ARE LEVEL! Fernandez tries to score directly from the free kick, despite the difficult angle. He forces a smart save from Lloris at the near post, but the rebound falls kindly for Basanta, off the back of Savic, who slots it just inside the upright!
35'
Soldado gets yellow.
NEARLY A PENALTY! The corner is worked short by the visitors and Joaquin skips past Soldado with ease. The striker slides in to try and break up the run, but it winds up being a nasty challenge as he takes out the wing-back on the very edge of the penalty area. This is a real chance for Fiorentina!
34'
More promising attacking play from Fiorentina. Salah darts through the centre of midfield and slips Gomez through, but the striker lacks the pace to get in behind the defence as he is forced to settle for a corner.
32'
Wonderful build up! Fiorentina lull the Tottenham defence to sleep with their passing around the penalty area, moving the ball around brilliantly. Valero finally picks out Pasqual on the left, but his cross for Gomez is met by the striker at a very difficult angle as his shot rolls well wide of the near post.
30'
Every time the hosts get forward they are looking to build through Townsend on the right. The winger has plenty of support from Walker and Eriksen as well, and Pasqual has his hands full at the moment. The lastest chance sees Townsend skip past Rodriguez with ease, but his shot his blocked behind for a corner by Savic.
28'
NEARLY THROUGH! Vertonghen tries to send Soldado in on goal, but his pass takes a late deflection which results in the attack being halted due to an offside. The Spaniard certainly has looked dangerous through the first half hour, filling the big shoes of Harry Kane quite nicely.
26'
Tottenham are having plenty of success attacking along the flanks, but they are struggling a bit to produce a good final ball into the area. Fiorentina have settled in nicely at the back and are dealing with the threat reasonably well, but are still affording the hosts far too much space in the final third.
24'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have never lost at home to Italian opposition (W3, D2). Their most recent meeting was against Inter in the Europa League round of 16 in 2013, where they cruised to a 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane, before squandering their advantage in the second leg, needing extra time to advance to the next round on away goals.
22'
There is a wonderful pace to this match as the teams go back and forth exchanging attacks. There certainly appears to be plenty of goals to be had, with Soldado's opener setting the tone for what promises to be a very entertaining match.
20'
NEARLY A SPECTACULAR BRACE! It's Eriksen's turn to deliver a cross in from the right. It is partially blocked by Savic and rainbows into the centre for Soldado who connects spectacularly with a bicycle kick. It is hit straight at the keeper, however, who makes a comfortable save.
18'
The visitors have settled into the match now it seems and are taking the game to Tottenham. They are passing the ball around well in midfield, having plenty of success breaking into the final third. Joaquin finds himself at the centre of the action again, whipping a great cross in from the right, but Gomez cannot get on the end of it and Tottenham clear their lines.
16'
ANOTHER CHANCE AT THE EQUALIZER! Salah is looking dangerous as usual in possession and he nearly pulls it back for his new team. The forward makes a superb run forward and works a one-two with Joaquin to get into the area. He gets a favourable bounce off Vertonghen to take him through on goal, but Fazio slides in brilliantly to block his shot behind for a corner.
14'
THAT WAS A CHANCE! Fiorentina finally show signs of life moving forward. Joaquin makes a good run into the area to get on the end of a cross, but swings and misses at an attempted volley from in close.
12'
Fiorentina cannot keep the ball when they win it back and that is proving to be a big problem for them. They are being put under relentless pressure at the back, with Tottenham winning corner after corner. If they fall behind 2-0 it will be a long and difficult road back for them.
10'
Tottenham are full of belief in the early stages of the match, really taking the game to Fiorentina. They are attacking wonderfully down the right, with Pasqual offering far too little in terms of defensive support. The Viola have to settle down and shake their nerves or it could prove to be a long and forgettable night for them.
8'
The chance came just seconds after another great play from Soldado, who slipped through Chadli on goal but the Belgian was unable to beat Tatarusanu from in close. The Spaniard has had a difficult time to say the least since arriving at Tottenham, so this will be a weight off his shoulders.
6'
Soldado has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by Paulinho.
DREAM START FOR TOTTENHAM WHO GO IN FRONT THROUGH ROBERTO SOLDADO! Chadli fails to get on the end of a corner kick from Eriksen, allowing it to fall for the Spaniard who cannons a sensational volley into the back of the net! There was no stopping that!
4'
G. Rodríguez gets yellow.
Tottenham win the ball back and a long ball forward is chased down succesfully by Townsend. The winger is taken out by Gonzalo Rodriguez who picks up the first yellow card of the match after just four minutes.
3'
It has been a cagey start to the match, with the ball being contained largely in midfield. A series of fouls are committed by Tottenham, allowing Fiorentina to keep the bulk of possession, but they have hardly looked eager or capable of advancing into the final third.
1'
The visitors kick-off and we are underway at White Hart Lane! Fiorentina in purple, Tottenham in white. Here we go!
Hello and welcome to England, where the Europa League knockout stage continues tonight. White Hart Lane is our venue this evening as a surging Tottenham side face a stern test when top three hopefuls Fiorentina pay them a visit. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
Tottenham coasted through the group stage on the back of Harry Kane's five goals, finishing first ahead of Besiktas. There is no doubt that Spurs would love to win the Europa League this season and finally return to the Champions League, but it appears as though their best chance to return to Europe's most elite competition is through the league. Mauricio Pochettino's side are within striking distance of fourth place in the Premier League and the manager will have to decide how important this competition is to him, because a deep run could certainly affect their form domestically.
Fiorentina are in a similar predicament, sitting just four points back of Serie A's third and final Champions League qualification slot. The Viola have been in fine form of late, going unbeaten through their last eight matches, but with their Coppa Italia hopes still very much alive, coach Vincenzo Montella may look at the domestic competition as their best chance to win a trophy this season. They can ill-afford to slip up in the league if they want to finish within the top three, but they will also want to keep their form alive by avoiding defeat here tonight in North London.
Mauricio Pochettino has opted to rest in-form striker Harry Kane for the match, though he could still feature as a substitute. Roberto Soldado gets the start in his place. Federico Fazio gets the start at the back in place of Eric Dier, who played against Liverpool, while Paulinho, Andros Townsend and Nacer Chadli are in the starting XI in place of Ryan Mason, Erik Lamela and Moussa Dembele.
In changing his formation, coach Vincenzo Montella has made five changes to his squad. Joaquin and Manuel Pasqual are included into the starting XI to play as wing-backs, with Jose Maria Basanta coming in at centre-half, pushing Micah Richards, Jasmin Kurtic and Marcos Alonso to the bench. Borja Valero returns to the starting lineup in place of Alessandro Diamanti, with Mario Gomez starting alongside Mohamed Salah at striker, pushing Khouma Babacar to the bench.
HALF TIME: TOTTENHAM 1-1 FIORENTINA. Soldado's volley gave the hosts an early lead and they came close to doubling it on a few occasions. The Viola battled back and finally pulled level through Basanta, but the high-paced nature of the match suggests the scoring is far from over. Sit tight, because we will be back shortly with the second half.
FULL TIME: TOTTENHAM 1-1 FIORENTINA. No late drama on this evening at the Lane as the sides settle for a draw in the first leg of this round of 32 cup tie. In the end it is a fair result, with much of the match being very evenly contested. Jose Maria Basanta's goal cancelled out Roberto Soldado's opener, leaving it wide open heading into the second leg in Florence.
I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
