There is the final whistle! Arsenal finally win at Old Trafford again and they're into the FA Cup semi-finals!
90' +5
The ball is sent into the box and no Red Devils chase it in, so Chambers lets it bounce behind for a goal kick.
90' +4
ANOTHER TOP SAVE! Arsenal hit the hosts on the break, with Ozil opting not to shoot on his left inside the box and instead squaring for Alexis. The Chilean takes a touch before searching out the far corner with an accurate strike, but De Gea diverts it around the post with a fling of his hand!
90' +3
Valencia clips a cross in from the right, but it's too high for Smalling and Mertesacker heads it out. United help it straight back into the box, and the United centre-back tries to get on the end of it following a kind bounce, but the German gets it away again.
90' +1
We are into the first of five added minutes!
90'
De Gea proves decisive as he rushes off his line and beats Alexis to Ramsey's pass in behind the defence! He had to make sure of that or it would definitely have been game over.
88'
A. Ramsey gets yellow.
Ramsey goes into the book now, and it was certainly deserved after hauling Young to the deck on the halfway line. He knew what he was doing there!
87'
A. Januzaj gets yellow.
Januzaj goes to ground the in the box after racing around the outside of Monreal. There was a bit of contact, but he took a few steps before opting to loose his footing. The referee shows him a yellow card for simulation instead of bowing to cries for a penalty.
85'
The hosts may have been reduced to 10 men but they're still controlling possession late on. Arsenal are taking their chances by clinging to the lead, but they'll certainly threaten on the counterattack should United commit too many men forward.
83'
Not since the late 1980s have United gone consecutive seasons without silverware. Before tonight the FA Cup represented their best opportunity to avoid that, but they're dangerously close to elimination and another barren campaign.
Minute
Description
81'
OVER THE TOP! That was never heading in from Rooney, with the ball curling into the stand behind the goal instead. There's less than 10 minutes remaining for the hosts to stay in the FA Cup.
80'
Jones provides an attacking injection to United's play, striding up from the back before attempting to poke a pass through for Fellaini. Monreal stoops to block it, but he uses his arm so the referee awards a free kick. Rooney might fancy this, it's just outside the area.
78'
It will be interesting to see how Arsenal approach this now. They will be probably slow the tempo and try to keep possession away from their hosts, rather than sit back and let them control it.
77'
Á. Di María gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
AND NOW HE'S OFF! Di Maria clasps at the referee's shirt in an attempt to get his attention so he can complain about the booking, but for that infraction the official shows him his second yellow! United's task has just been made even harder.
76'
Á. Di María gets yellow.
Di Maria is booked for simulation! The former Real Madrid man dribbles inside from the right, beating Cazorla before going to ground under pressure from Ramsey. The contact was minimal there - certainly not enough to warrant going down like that!
74'
O. Giroud enters the game and replaces D. Welbeck.
Welbeck goes off for Arsenal now, and he gets a large amount of boos from the home support. There is a smattering of applause, but not an awful lot as Giroud enters the fray.
STUNNING SAVE! De Gea shows an exceptionally strong hand by keeping a Cazorla volley out when it looked destined for the bottom corner. That is why the Spaniard is classed as one of the top keepers in English football.
73'
A. Januzaj enters the game and replaces M. Rojo.
Van Gaal makes his final substitution, but it's no Mata or Falcao to come on. Instead, Adnan Januzaj replaces Rojo.
72'
Alexis wins a free kick in a great position just outside the corner of the box after drawing a foul from Valencia. The former Barcelona man goes directly for goal from the resultant set-piece, but De Gea gets his body behind his effort and holds it at the first time of asking.
71'
It all gets very congested as United try and force their way through the centre of Arsenal's defence. The Gunners remain strong, though, and they counter through Ozil. He releases Welbeck but the pass sends him wide and he is unable to make anything from it.
69'
The Red Devils are continuing to dominate possession in this half. Valencia attempts to atone for his earlier error by sprinting down the wing to chase a Di Maria pass. Monreal gets across, blocking his path and drawing a foul for which the referee awards a free kick to the visitors.
68'
Young gets the better of Chambers, turning him inside out before standing up a cross at the back post. Fellaini connects with a header, which he powers low and into the arms of Szczesny.
66'
C. Chambers enters the game and replaces Héctor Bellerín.
A smart decision from Wenger; Bellerin goes off to be replaced by Calum Chambers. He was getting dangerously close to a foul worthy of a second yellow card!
65'
WHAT A CHANCE! Di Maria sends a rather poor free kick in from the left, putting it low to the near post. Carrick gets a slight flick on it which falls for Smalling on the edge of the six-yard box, but he doesn't adjust quickly enough and diverts the ball over!
64'
M. Rojo gets yellow.
Rojo is the latest player into the book following a challenge on Cazorla. The home fans were hoping that was going to be shown to Bellerin, who committed a foul which enabled the referee to book the United man.
63'
That was an absolute gift from the hosts! Valencia made a huge error there, and it could well cost his team a place in the FA Cup semi-finals. There's still a little more than 25 minutes remaining, though.
61'
D. Welbeck has scored a goal for Arsenal!
JUST WIDE! Szczesny's goal kick is headed straight to Fellaini by Blind, and the Belgian turns before clipping a pass over the top for Di Maria. Monreal tracks his run inside from the wing, though, and applies enough pressure that the Argentine misses the target.
GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! WELBECK RETURNS TO HAUNT UNITED! Jones fails to control a high ball, so Valencia rolls a pass back to De Gea. However, he doesn't get enough on it and the former Red Devil nips in, poking it beyond the onrushing keeper before slotting into the vacant net! He doesn't shy away from celebrating either!
60'
A. Young gets yellow.
There's another yellow card now, with Young hauling down Welbeck in front of the dugouts as the Arsenal man looks to surge away from him and into a central area.
59'
M. Fellaini gets yellow.
Fellaini is shown a yellow card after two poor challenges in quick succession. The second came on Ramsey near the halfway line, but following the preceeding one on Coquelin he opts to take the Belgian's name down in his book.
57'
Ozil feeds Ramsey from the right, and the Welshman has enough space to take a touch before driving towards the top of the box. He tries to poke a pass to Welbeck as he makes a run along the area, but he gets it all wrong and the hosts mop up the attack.
55'
STAT: Man United have won their last six home matches against Arsenal in all competitions.
53'
Arsenal intercept the ball after loose control from Smalling, with Cazorla driving forward before offloading to his left for Alexis. The Chilean takes a touch before attempting to curl a shot into the corner, but a deflection off Valencia sends it into De Gea's arms.
52'
Monreal clips the back of Di Maria's calf just outside the box, but the referee sees nothing in it. Arsenal had Walcott ready to come on moments ago, but the injury to Oxlade-Chamberlain forced Wenger to change his plans!
51'
A. Ramsey enters the game and replaces A. Oxlade-Chamberlain.
That's the end of Oxlade-Chamberlain's evening, though, with Ramsey taking his place. He has slotted in alongside Coquelin with Cazorla moving into a more advanced position and Ozil heading out to the right.
49'
The hosts are awarded another free kick in a deep position on the left, and Rooney is the man to take it. His delivery is headed out by Koscielny, but United keep the pressure up. Oxlade-Chamberlain pulls up following a 50-50 with Rojo, but the Argentine's ball is too long for Rooney.
48'
Carrick sprays a fantastic pass over the head of Bellerin and into the box for Young. The winger attempts to get inside his opponent by controlling the ball with his head, but the Spaniard reacts well and hooks it away.
46'
M. Carrick enters the game and replaces Ander Herrera.
P. Jones enters the game and replaces L. Shaw.
The second half is underway! Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera have made way for Phil Jones, meaning Marcos Rojo will move to left-back, and Michael Carrick as Van Gaal makes his first substitutions.
45' +3
There is the half-time whistle!
45' +2
Arsenal have one last chance to pump the ball into the box as Rojo goes through the back of Welbeck near the halfway line. Ozil, however, opts to take it early and clips it straight into De Gea's hands!
45' +1
We are into the first of two added minutes.
45'
United attempt to catch the visitors on the break, but Herrera slows the tempo despite cries for him to shoot. The ball ends up with Fellaini, who bears down on goal and rifles a low effort straight at the feet of Szczesny, which he holds.
44'
Arsenal are awarded a free kick in a central area, 30 yards from goal. Cazorla opts to shoot directly, and he fails to get enough power on his attempt to get it past De Gea.
43'
GREAT SAVE! Valencia plays a magnificent ball which drops in behind the defence on the right-hand side of the box for Di Maria. The Argentine lets it bounce before striking it towards the target from an acute angle, but Szczesny has his angles covered and denies him at the near post.
41'
Rooney controls a pass superbly on the left before clipping the ball across the pitch to Di Maria. The Argentine is unable to get the better of Monreal, but the England international runs onto possession as it runs loose from that contest. He tries to chip it into the far corner, but it ends up being at a comfortable height for Szczesny.
39'
Herrera does do a good job of dispossessing Alexis as he looks to cut in off the left, but he instantly undoes his good work by sending his forward pass straight to an opposition player!
37'
Ander Herrera gets yellow.
The second yellow card of the night is shown, and it goes in the direction of Herrera. The former Athletic Bilbao man has not influenced the match heavily tonight.
36'
Young receives the ball out on the left and decides to run at Bellerin. He is shown down the outside by the Spaniard, who then gets a foot in the way of his cross to deflect it behind for a corner. From the resultant set-piece, Smalling sends a header over the top.
34'
Welbeck spins in behind Rojo and Alexis sends an exquisite pass over the top into his path. The bounce holds it up a little, though, enabling the Argentine to intervene and reset the play for his team.
33'
Let off for Szczesny! The Poland international leaves his line and dives into the air to claim a Di Maria cross, despite Fellaini being the only target and also tightly marked. The ball slips out of his fingers and bounces on the deck, but he is able to recover it before any of the home side's players can pounce.
31'
Oxlade-Chamberlain is extremely lively tonight, and here he gets to the byline before digging out a cross. Welbeck connects with a header but fails to divert it into the corner beyond De Gea!
30'
Welbeck looks to latch onto a pass over the top of the defence but drops to ground in the vicinity of Rojo. The Argentine pulls him back with a hand to his shoulder, but the referee sees nothing wrong and refuses to award anything.
29'
W. Rooney has scored a goal for Manchester United! Assist by Á. Di María.
GOOOOOAAAAAL!! UNITED EQUALISE! The Gunners don't hold onto their advantage for long, though, with Rooney guiding Di Maria's cross into the back of the net with his head! The striker was in acres of space between Koscielny and Mertesacker, which won't please Wenger.
27'
The Gunners will be pleased that their gameplan has worked to perfection so far, with Szczesny barely tested, despite the Red Devils enjoying plenty of possession, and a goal to the good.
25'
Nacho Monreal has scored a goal for Arsenal! Assist by A. Oxlade-Chamberlain.
GOOOOOOAAAAAL!! ARSENAL LEAD AT OLD TRAFFORD! A brilliantly worked goal from the visitors, with Oxlade-Chamberlain receiving a pass from Ozil and dancing towards the top of the box, beating three United players before prodding the ball through to Monreal. The Spaniard takes a touch before guiding a shot beyond De Gea and inside the near post!
24'
Di Maria crosses for Fellaini but the Arsenal defence head it away to Blind. The Dutchman spots the former Real Madrid man then making a run into the box from deep, but his attempt to find him is cut out by Koscielny.
23'
That's better from Oxlade-Chamberlain! He sprints at Rojo before turning inside and out, drawing a foul. Ozil clips the resulting free kick into the centre of the box, where Smalling gets the first header to it.
21'
Welbeck feeds Oxlade-Chamberlain out on the right after more good work from Cazorla, but the wide-man's delivery into the middle is poor and misses all of his supporting team-mates.
20'
Good play! Di Maria comes in off the right and angles a great cross to the far side of the box for Fellaini. The Belgian brings it down on his chest before teeing up Young for a shot as he runs in off the other flank. He puts a little too much on the cushion, however, and the winger ends up slicing well wide!
18'
Bellerin makes a positive run into the box and Oxlade-Chamberlain picks him out with a scooped pass. He takes a touch before firing an effort which goes behind following a deflection off Blind. The referee clearly didn't see it, though, and points for a goal kick!
17'
It's been a rather lively start to proceedings tonight, though United are perhaps enjoying slightly more of the possession. The Gunners have looked threatening on the break, though, so no one appears in complete control of the fixture as of yet.
15'
Szczesny shows no fear! The goalkeeper opts to pull off a Cruyff turn inside his own box as Rooney bears down on him following Mertesacker's pass. The German is still struggling to get to grips with the match.
13'
The Red Devils are awarded another free kick in a wide left position, with Young going down under a challenge from Coquelin. Rooney bends it towards the back post, but Szczesny gets a strong fist on the ball to punch it out to safety.
Poor decision-making from Fellaini. The Belgian opts to turn in the box after being played in by Smalling. His momentum sees him leave it behind, though, and he commits a foul on Mertesacker in his attempts to keep it under his control.
11'
An Arsenal corner is only cleared as far as Bellerin 30 yards from goal, but the Spaniard's loose touch enables Shaw to steal in and take the ball away. The left-back fails to get it to sit down so he can launch a break, though, and he is soon dispossessed by the Gunners' defender.
9'
Rojo opts to send a long pass up from the back, which he gets too much behind. The ball drops beyond both Fellaini and Rooney, who was also in the vicinity, and it rolls through to Szczesny.
7'
Mertesacker looks a little nervy as he concedes a cheap corner. Di Maria fires in to the near post where Rooney helps it on with a clever flick. There is no red shirt to connect with it at the back post, and the visitors manage to get the ball half clear.
6'
The free kick is eventually curled in by Rooney, but Welbeck is on hand to get it away with a strong header. The former Everton man attempts to put it back in the box, but his second attempt is no better.
5'
This seems to be a theme in recent games, with Coquelin requiring treatment for a bloody nose. It appeared to happen in a coming together with Fellaini near the halfway line that went unnoticed.
4'
Héctor Bellerín gets yellow.
It has not taken long for the game's first yellow card to come out, with Bellerin scything down Young after the winger knocks the ball beyond him. United have a free kick in a decent position out on the left now.
3'
A chance for Arsenal! Bellerin angles the pass out to Alexis on the left, and he cuts inside of Valencia and onto his right foot. His strike at goal is blocked by Smalling, and he cannot get enough on the follow-up as the centre back challenges him, leaving De Gea with a simple save.
1'
We are underway! United in red, Arsenal in blue.
This is a meeting between the competition's two most-successful clubs. Both have won the trophy on 11 occasions, but either the Red Devils or the Gunners will be eliminated tonight as they vie for a spot in the semi-finals at Wembley. Perhaps their most famous recent meeting in the FA Cup came back in April 1999, when Ryan Giggs netted a remarkable extra-time winner in the semi-final replay at Villa Park.
MAN UNITED TEAM NEWS: Louis van Gaal makes just one change from the side that defeated Newcastle 1-0 in midweek. Jonny Evans misses out after receiving a six-game ban for spitting at Papiss Cisse, and his replacement is Luke Shaw. Marcos Rojo will therefore operate in the centre of defence, while Robin van Persie remains unavailable due to injury.
ARSENAL TEAM NEWS: Arsene Wenger makes five switches from the 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers, one of which means Olivier Giroud starts from the bench. Danny Welbeck will therefore lead the line against his former club, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny and Wojciech Szczesny also return to the starting line-up.
Man United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw; Blind, Herrera; Di Maria, Fellaini, Young; Rooney.
Man United substitutes: Valdes, Rafael, Jones, Carrick, Januzaj, Mata, Falcao.
Arsenal substitutes: Martinez, Chambers, Gibbs, Ramsey, Akpom, Walcott, Giroud.
The rivalry between these clubs grew in modern times as Wenger guided the Gunners to numerous title battles with Sir Slex Ferguson's United side. This season expectations aren't quite lofty for either team, with focus instead on simply securing a place in next season's Champions League. But with that, the importance of the FA Cup increases due to the desire for silverware of both clubs.
United have had a relatively simple run to the quarter-finals, but, after eliminating Yeovil, they were forced to a replay by Cambridge United before progressing beyond Preston North End. Arsenal, meanwhile, defeated the team they beat in last season's final at the third round this year. Brighton and Hove Albion and Middlesbrough have also exited at the Gunners' expense. The biggest challenge for both teams so far, then, is tonight.
Arsenal have failed to win at Old Trafford in their last eight attempts, with an 8-2 victory for the Red Devils in August 2011 perhaps the stand-out result. There are just five minutes remaining until kick off, in what should be a real classic.
Hello and welcome to tonight's LIVE commentary on the FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Arsenal. The pair have played out some memorable games in this competition previously, so let's hope for another classic at Old Trafford this evening. My name is Tom Webber, and I will be guiding you through all the action.
The teams are out on the pitch now, so kick off will be upon us in a few short moments.
HALF TIME - Man United 1-1 Arsenal: It's been an exciting, open game at Old Trafford, but there remains nothing to separate the two teams. Nacho Monreal gave the Gunners the lead after a great counterattack, but their lead didn't last long as Wayne Rooney headed in an equaliser. It's all still to play for in the second half, so be sure to stay tuned!
The teams are back out, so the second half will begin in just a few moments.
FULL TIME - Man United 1-2 Arsenal: The visitors took the lead through Nacho Monreal, but Wayne Rooney equalised soon after. Danny Welbeck came back to haunt his former club, though, capitalising on an error from Antonio Valencia to net the winner. Angel Di Maria was dismissed afterwards, and subsequently the Red Devils didn't look like turning it around.
The Gunners go into the hat for the semi-final, alongside Aston Villa. Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers remain in the draw as they will contest a replay, with the case of Bradford City and Reading the same.
That is all we have time for tonight, though. Thanks for joining me, Tom Webber, and have a great night!
