Dierckx has a glorious chance for number three! He races past a static backline on the break, and rounds Ryan, who rushed off his line. He tries to slide home the finish, but Gulum is back on the line to clear!
90'
OVER THE BAR! Refaelov has a great chance to put Besiktas two goals ahead with a free header from a free-kick, but he can't keep it under the crossbar! That was there for the taking!
88'
De Sutter gets a standing ovation from the home fans for his decisive impact in this game. He brought them level just after the hour mark and put a lot of physical pressure on the defence, even though most of it was illegal.
87'
T. Dierckx enters the game and replaces T. De Sutter.
86'
Gulum will probably have to take a long soak in the ice bath at the end of this game. He's the victim of another tough challenge, as Oulare takes him out, getting a booking for his troubles.
85'
O. Oularé gets yellow.
Tore has a crack from long range, but it's right above the head of Ryan, who sticks two hands up to catch with ease. First attacking intent from the visitors in a long, long while.
83'
M. Pektemek enters the game and replaces O. Şahan.
A 2-1 win for Club Brugge doesn't solve anything in terms of determining a winner in this tie. If the return leg in Turkey is as tight as this, then this round of 16 matchup could well go the distance.
81'
Gedoz has now indirectly assisted two goals. He almost didn't get that penalty call. He was fouled in the area, of that there's no question, but his overblown reaction would have made Shakespeare cringe.
79'
Penalty goal scored by L. Refaelov for Club Brugge!
NO MISTAKE FROM REVAELOV! He places it perfectly into the bottom-right corner. Gonen guessed correctly, but didn't stick out his arm far enough to make contact!
78'
PENALTY TO CLUB BRUGGE! Gedoz continues to influence this game, for better or for worse. He is clipped on the turn by Kurtulus, and makes sure that the referee doesn't hesitate making the call with an exaggerated mid-air flop.
Minute
Description
76'
Arslan evades Simons and feeds a promising ball towards Demba Ba, but the striker's first touch is rusty, and the defence can pick up the pieces. Club Brugge looked stretched there for a second.
74'
De Bock lines up a free kick from about 25 yards, and forces a sprawling, but unconvincing save from Gonen at his near post. The rebound trickled menacingly for a second, but couldn't be pounced on in time by a Club Brugge player.
72'
K. Frei enters the game and replaces O. Özyakup.
Ozyakup departs for Frei as Bilic shuffles his pack. Much like the first period, Besiktas have been committing some careless fouls inside their own half. Will the hosts profit from one of these deliveries?
70'
Besiktas simply haven't been at the races recently. Their once-reliable flank play has dissipated, and Demba Ba continues to cut an isolated figure at the tip of their forward line.
69'
C. Gönen gets yellow.
68'
The second leg is in a weeks' time in Istanbul. This won't be the worst scoreline for either team to take into that match, although Club Brugge will want a lead, given the Turkish city's notorious hostile atmosphere inside their stadiums.
66'
Gedoz's influence has been undeniable since entering the fray at the start of the second half. His fingerprints are all over Club Brugge's leveler, and he's taken charge of a few set-piece deliveries that have caused Besiktas problems as well.
64'
The fans are singing their lungs out again with their side right back in this tie. Can Club Brugge ride this momentum into another goal? Besiktas have looked rattled since conceding.
62'
T. De Sutter has scored a goal for Club Brugge! Assist by Felipe Gedoz.
CLUB BRUGGE ARE LEVEL! Gedoz has a crack from the edge of the box, and De Sutter's run splits the centre backs, allowing him to have the crucial touch inside the six-yard area that takes the ball away from Gonen!
61'
O. Oularé enters the game and replaces D. De Fauw.
60'
Club Brugge put the onus back on Besiktas to defend for the first time in this half. However, there's no urgency from the Jupiler Pro League team. Simons' piledriver that flew over the bar has been about as good as it has gotten.
58'
Opare is back with us after a brief spell of treatment. Just over half an hour to go here. Despite Besiktas' comfort in this half, we still haven't had a real Demba Ba sighting for the entirety of the match.
56'
The away fans are making all the noise at the moment as Opare's injury pauses the game. The home supporters hit back with some chants of their own and by sheer numbers they drown out the visiting voices.
54'
Besiktas have been on top since the restart. They haven't let up the intensity since taking the lead, which would delight Bilic. Another away goal, and it would be hard to see past them for a spot in the quarter-finals.
52'
Some more on Simons. In his second spell at Club Brugge, the 38-year-old holding midfielder has 93 caps for Belgium, only three appearances shy of the all-time record. However, he's no longer in contention for a place in the national team, so Jan Ceulemans' record of 96 caps will stand for now.
50'
The evergreen Simons latches onto a loose ball that sits kindly for him about 25 yards out. He lashes it with some venom, but it's about a foot over the top. This game starting to pick up now.
48'
Well, I did say that Tore was Besiktas' most-utilized threat in the first half, but he's stepped it up a level here to clinch his fourth goal in this season's Europa League. Besiktas now have a VITAL away goal!
46'
Felipe Gedoz enters the game and replaces B. Bolingoli.
G. Töre has scored a goal for Besiktas! Assist by O. Özyakup.
Here we go again!
THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG! WHAT A WAY TO OPEN THE SCORING! Tore simply waltzes through three or four players inside the box before guiding a sure left-footed finish inside the post!
45' +1
Gonen sticks a big paw into the sky to divert that delivery away from his goal, and with that, the referee has seen enough. He signals for half time.
45'
Bolingoli-Mbombo attempts to scamper to the right byline, but Gulum greets him with a wild barge. He gives away a late free-kick, but somehow avoids a booking from the referee.
43'
Half time can't come soon enough. It's been a disappointing game in terms of chances created and general entertainment factor. There's been some spice in the midfield battle, but overall, I think that Besiktas will be the happier side with this scoreline.
42'
N. Uysal gets yellow.
41'
Poor Vormer is being used as a punching bag. The winger is prevented from sneaking down the right again by a thumping challenge from Uysal. The referee obliges him with a deserved caution.
39'
Arslan becomes the first Besiktas player to be booked, hacking down Vormer. The referee initially wanted to play the advantage for Club Brugge, but the move broke down, so out came the yellow.
38'
T. Arslan gets yellow.
37'
This game has been a story of mediocre Club Brugge set pieces launched into the box, and fleeting Besiktas counters that have typically broken down around the edge of the box. Oh, and the fouls. So many fouls.
35'
Club Brugge start to exert themselves more on the ball. They sneak a ball into De Sutter on the left side of the box, and he tries an ambitious but ultimately hopeless overhead kick that doesn't travel more than a few feet.
33'
De Sutter and Gulum show no fear when battling for the ball again. The Besiktas defender climbs all over the Club Brugge wide man to win a header. Clear foul, and he's probably on his last warning.
31'
Ozyakup has generally been on point with his corner deliveries, and his latest one takes a glance off the head of Ba before flashing menacingly over the reach of a few players in the six-yard area.
29'
Just under half an hour gone here and I have no idea where the first goal is going to come from. This is an unbelievably even, hard-fought match. I might be tempted to give the slight edge to Besiktas but even that's not any great compliment.
27'
Tore was a threat in the initial exchanges, and Besiktas have started to feed him down the right-hand side again. He links with Opare on the overlap and forces a corner with a dangerous run to the byline. The Turks don't do anything with the set piece though.
25'
Both Bilic and Preud'homme had some kind words for each other pre-match, but their mutual admiration hasn't extended to their players. Opare was just the victim of a crunching challenge from De Fauw.
23'
The visiting fans are cutting pensive figures in the away end as Club Brugge start to force pressure in the final third. They're starting to win some free kicks in a handful of dangerous areas, and have already shown their threat from set-pieces.
21'
This game has really devolved into a midfield slog-fest. So many tackles flying in, with the referee keeping his whistle at the ready. We may be in for more bookings very soon if this keeps up.
19'
We haven't seen anything from Ba since the start of the game. Arguably the most high-profile player in this contest, the former Chelsea and Newcastle striker needs to get involved if the visitors are to prosper.
17'
It's starting to get scrappy and feisty out there in the midfield. Not a full house tonight at the Jan Breydelstadion by any means, but the crowd is still feeding off the intensity of the on-pitch battles for the ball.
16'
T. De Sutter gets yellow.
15'
De Sutter and Gulum are shaping up to have quite the battle tonight. They've already tussled on a set-piece where the hosts had a goal ruled out, and now, the former upends the latter in a bid to win back the ball. The referee doesn't stand for it and gets the yellow card out.
13'
SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER! Besiktas hit back down at the other end almost right away, as a corner is flicked to Uysal at the back post. He hangs in the air well above his man, but can't generate enough purchase on his header to trouble Ryan!
11'
GOAL DISALLOWED! From a Club Brugge corner, De Sutter rises above his marker to plant a header into the back of the net, but Gulum appeared to be fouled in the buildup and the play is chalked off.
9'
Besiktas are building their attacks from the back, with Tore and Sahan also looking to play off the shoulder of their respective full-backs in order to keep the back line on their collective toes.
7'
Both of these sides topped their respective groups with three wins and three draws in their six matches for a 12-point haul. Club Brugge are starting to invite pressure on themselves.
5'
Besiktas are starting to exert more control over possession, but you can already sense that this is going to be a tight game with a miniscule margin of victory - if there is to be one.
3'
A lot of intensity shown in closing down by Besiktas in the early exchanges. They're playing cautiously, more focused on disrupting any initial rhythm from the home team.

Here we go!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Europa League match between Club Brugge and Besiktas. The round of 16 kicks off for both of these sides, who have a limited history together. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your designated scribe for all the action.
These sides have met only once previously, during the 2006-07 Uefa Cup group stage. Back then, Jean Tigana's Besiktas secured a 2-1 win over Emilio Ferreira's Brugge at the old Inonu Stadium in Istanbul. Neither that tournament nor that ground exist anymore. We're all getting old.
Besiktas pipped Tottenham Hotspur to top spot in Group C to book their place in this round alongside the Premier League side. The Turkish outfit are unbeaten in 12 European games this term, and have not lost once in their four previous meetings with Belgian sides (W2 D2). They last made it to the last eight in 2002-03, when Lazio dumped them out on away goals.
Club Brugge are in the last 16 for the first time since the group stages were instituted in this competition. Since their semi-final outing in the 1991-92 European Cup Winners' Cup, the Jupiler Pro League team haven't made it to the knockout stages of a continental tournament. However, they are the only club from Belgium to play in the final of the European Cup (before it was called the Champions League), losing to Liverpool in the 1977-78 showpiece.
Club Brugge (4-3-1-2): Ryan; Meunier, Mechele, Duarte, De Bock; Vomer, Simons, Bolingoli-Mbombo; De Fauw; De Sutter, Refaelov.
Michel Preud'homme makes three changes from his side's last outing, a 1-0 league win at home against Sporting Charleroi. Brandon Mechele, Davy De Fauw and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo come into the XI to replace Stefano Denswil, Claudemir and Nikola Storm respectively.
Demba Ba leads the line for the away side, with former Hamburg man Gokhan Tore and Olcay Sahan providing support from the flanks. Ex-Arsenal youth player Oguzhan Ozyakup also mans the midfield for the Turkish outfit.
Not one for the purists. Goalless at the break in Belgium, with chances at an absolute premium. Two shots apiece for either side, but neither goalkeeper has had a save to make. De Sutter had a goal disallowed for a foul in the buildup to attacking a corner, and that's about as close as it has come. Stay tuned for the restart in just a bit.
And that will do it from Bruges! A forgettable first half, but you can't say the same about the second. Club Brugges hit back from Tore's opener, with goals from De Sutter and Refaelov, both aided by the super sub Gedoz, putting them on top. Besiktas only have themselves to blame as they were the better side for the best part of an hour. Second leg in exactly one week in Istanbul.
That's all from me, I've been Keeghann Sinanan and it's goodbye for now.
