Torino win a free kick on the right and they pack the box, but the set-piece is taken short! They work the ball across to the other flank but Lodygin comes to claim the delivery into the box.
90' +1
We are into the first of three added minutes, and Torino almost get an important away goal! Lopez picks out Farnerud at the top of the box with a clever backheel, but the Swede takes his shot early and bends it wide of the far post!
90'
A. Tymoshchuk enters the game and replaces A. Witsel.
Lopez contests a cross into the box with Lodygin and the ball runs loose before Neto sends it into touch. Before play restarts, Villas-Boas withdraws Witsel and replaces him with Tymoshchuk.
89'
Torino are keeping hold of possession in these late stages, with Gazzi taking charge in the centre circle for them. Zenit have not done enough in this second half.
88'
A. Ryazantsev gets yellow.
87'
K. Glik gets yellow.
Ryazantsev is caught offside inside the box as Glik makes a late run out from the back. The Granata captain pushes him away from the ball so that he can get play back underway, but the Zenit substitute responds with a shove of his own. Moretti tries to keep the peace, but he cannot stop the referee from showing both players a yellow card.
85'
Farnerud dinks a great ball into the box as Toro search for an important away goal, and Lopez controls it with his head. He raises a leg to go for a volley on the spin but Neto makes an important intervention to knock the ball away from him!
83'
OVER THE TOP! Hulk gets the free kick over the wal but it lacks the requisite dip to bring it back on target. Padelli watches it fly beyond the post to his left.
Minute
Description
82'
Hulk drifts in from the right again and, after receiving the ball, is brought down by El Kaddouri. It's in a decent position, and he may fancy his chances of finding the net from here.
81'
A. Ryazantsev enters the game and replaces O. Shatov.
Villas-Boas makes his first substitution of the night, replacing Shatov with Ryazantsev.
80'
The visitors are clinging to this result at the moment. They're doing a good job of keeping Zenit at bay, and at 2-0 they still have a chance of overturning the result in the second leg at the Olimpico.
78'
WITSEL! The Belgian controls Danny's cross with his chest on the edge of the box before attempting an overhead kick. His connection isn't brilliant, though, and he fires the effort wide of the target. He's certainly feeling confident tonight!
77'
Zenit will surely be keen to add to their tally tonight in a bid to put this tie out of Toro's reach. However, Hulk wastes some time by staying down after coming together with Moretti before getting up as soon as Shatov knocks the ball out of play!
76'
Torino need to look to Lopez for as an outlet in these closing stages, as they're conceding possession far too frequently by trying to play out from the back. The Argentine is capable of holding up the play.
74'
M. López enters the game and replaces F. Quagliarella.
Ventura makes his final change of the game, replacing Quagliarella with Maxi Lopez.
72'
IMPORTANT BLOCK! Maksimovic cedes possession near the corner flag inside his own half, and as a result Criscito bursts into the box along the byline. He attempts to fire a cutback into a swarm of bodies around the penalty spot, but Glik slides in with a crucial interception!
71'
Toro are awarded another free kick after Neto sends Farnerud to ground by treading on his foot. The set-piece delivery is poor yet again, though, with Rondon heading the Swede's ball straight back out of the box.
69'
Criscito drops to ground, yelping and holding his face after a coming together with Darmian near the halfway line. The Torino man certainly caught his opponent, but it was in no way as dramatic as the left-back made it seem!
67'
STAT: Zenit's only previous win against Italian opposition on Russian soil was a 1-0 win over Udinese in the 2008-09 Europa League. However, it was not enough to save them from elimination on aggregate.
65'
Molinaro clips it towards the back post, but Lodygin comes from his line and between three Zenit shirts to punch it into touch. That was a real waste from the visitors.
64'
I. Smolnikov gets yellow.
Smolnikov receives a booking for a late challenge on El Kaddouri as he looks to race away down the left wing. Torino need to make opportunities like this count - they need a good delivery here.
62'
Darmian pushes forward on the right and controls a pass in behind Criscito. However, his first touch is poor and he is unable to stop it from running out of play before he can get a cross in.
60'
As predicted, Smolnikov is waved back onto the pitch and looks set to continue in the right-back position. Torino have a decent spell of possession but they've got no focal point to aim their play at, and they eventually lose the ball.
59'
There's a break in play here as Smolnikov goes down after catching his foot in the turf and crashing into Quagliarella. He's helped off the pitch but should be fine to continue.
57'
Padelli makes the save! Hulk's effort isn't the best, but Padelli deals with it well despite an awkward bounce just in front of him.
56'
Moretti gets too tight to Hulk and shoves the former Porto man to ground 30 yards from goal. It favours a left-footed player, so the Brazilian will likely strike this himself.
55'
Torino are going to have to focus on shutting up shop and seeing this game out with minimal damage taken. They can't afford to concede many more goals tonight or they tie could effectively be over before the second leg!
53'
D. Criscito has scored a goal for Zenit!
GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! CRISCITO DOUBLES ZENIT'S LEAD! The Toro defence are all over the place, failing to clear the danger and it falls to Danny. The Portuguese exchanges passes with Hulk, who stabs a shot towards goal which comes back off the post! The rebound falls perfectly for Zenit's Italian left-back, though, who fires the ball into the gaping goal!
52'
Following that move, Vives does indeed come off for Farnerud in Torino's second change.
51'
HULK! That ought to have been the second! The Brazilian plays a one-two with Danny, who dinks a pass over the defence for him. He's played onside by an absurdly deep Moretti, but he sends a weak volley straight at Padelli before Toro scramble it clear.
50'
A. Farnerud enters the game and replaces G. Vives.
The Granata aren't closing down Zenit quickly enough now. They want to keep their shape, but they're allowing the likes of Witsel and Danny plenty of time on the ball just 25 yards from their own goal! Meanwhile, Vives appears to be struggling with an injury and is going to make way for Farnerud.
49'
You'd expect better from Hulk, there! The Brazilian has switched flanks with Shatov, and he is fed by his team-mate 25 yards from goal. He shifts the ball onto his favoured left foot, riding a challenge from Gazzi before pulling a poor effort wide of the goal!
47'
A loose touch from Smolnikov on the halfway line hands possession to Torino. Quagliarella looks to push forward on the left but is brought down by Witsel. He won't mind for now, as it brings some relief to his defence who have already come under the cosh early on.
46'
Here we go! The second half is underway.
45' +2
There is the half-time whistle!
45' +1
We are into the first, and only, minute of additional time.
45'
More intricate pass-and-move football from Zenit culminates in Danny rolling a pass to the byline for Criscito. The Italian cuts the ball back into the middle but it rolls straight to Glik, who hacks it clear.
43'
Rondon has a goal ruled out for offside! Another corner was sent to the back post, with Witsel eventually helping it onto the Venezuelan who finished with aplomb. However, the flag is up on the near side and it appeared to be the correct decision.
42'
That's lovely football from Zenit! Shatov feeds Hulk and the Brazilian plays a one-two with Danny. He shifts away from Moretti inside the box but is tackled near the byline by Moretti. The resultant corner is fired low to the near post and Padelli spills it following a bounce! He looks really nervous.
40'
The hosts are in the ascendancy now, and they're hungry for another goal before the break. They are getting more men forward in the wide areas in an attempt to stretch their opponents, who until Benassi's dismissal had looked rather solid.
38'
A. Witsel has scored a goal for Zenit!
GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! ZENIT TAKE THE LEAD! Smolnikov fires a shot from the right corner of the box, and Padelli parries it straight into the danger area. Glik stretches to try and make sure of the clearance but it's too far for him, and Witsel pounces to guide the ball into the back of the net!
36'
Molinaro may consider himself lucky to have got away without a yellow card following a raking challenge on Danny. The Portuguese isn't impressed, quickly removing his shin pad to check for cuts after hitting the deck.
35'
Javi Garcia is the next player to be shown a yellow card after bundling El Kaddouri to ground out on the left. The resultant free kick is a good one, but Rondon heads clear on the far side of the box.
34'
G. Vives enters the game and replaces Josef Martínez.
Javi García gets yellow.
Ventura is forced into his first change following that red card, with Martinez making way for Vives, who will restore the midfield to five men.
33'
Gazzi wins the ball in midfield with two strong challenges. Once clear he looks forward and spots Quagliarella looking to make a run in behind, but the striker goes to early and is adjudged offside.
31'
It looks as though Martinez has been asked to drop a little deeper by Ventura, which could make it difficult for his side to pose the same threat on the counterattack for the remaining hour. They're going to have their work cut out for them, but a change in gameplan doesn't appear to have been implemented.
29'
After contesting the referee's decision, Benassi trudges off to the wrong side of the pitch. He tries to quickly run back on so that he can reach the tunnel on the far side of the ground quickly, but his coach directs him down the touchline instead. Finally, play continues.
27'
M. Benassi gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD! Torino are reduced to 10 men as Benassi is shown a yellow card for a rash challenge on Witsel. He left his foot in high on the Belgian's shin, and that's going to make his team's task even more difficult tonight!
26'
Zenit are awarded a free kick out on the left, but Danny's delivery fails to beat the first man as Molinaro heads it straight into touch. The Russian side are really struggling to break down their guests at the moment.
24'
Hulk is primarily operating from the left this evening, drifting inside when they have possession and joining Rondon up top. Shatov, therefore, is hugging the right flank while Danny is being afforded a free role to try and get his team firing. The Portuguese hasn't had much luck in the congested midfield so far.
22'
Hulk uses his quick feet to get away from Gazzi before driving inside from the left, heading towards the top of the box. Maksimovic stops him from advancing any further with a well-timed sliding tackle, though.
21'
STAT: Zenit have conceded in only one of their six European home games this term, a 2-1 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
19'
Shatov rolls a pass down the right wing for Rondon, but the Venezuelan is unable to get in front of Moretti as he tries to shepherd the ball out of play. His attempts to regain possession result in a free kick for the visitors, and the striker isn't happy about that decision.
18'
Glik angles a fantastic pass up from the back to Quagliarella, and the former Juventus man shows an exquisite touch to bring it down. He attempts to cut inside of Neto, but the Portuguese makes a brilliant sliding challenge to dispossess him.
16'
The Italian side manage to suck the ball away from their hosts before breaking down the right flank through Darmian. He sends a deep cross towards the back post, drawing Lodygin from his line to make an important intervention with a safe catch.
15'
Torino are happy to sit deep and let Zenit control possession at the moment, and with so many bodies behind the ball there isn't a lot of room for the hosts to string together short, snappy passes. They need to up their tempo if they are to create any openings.
13'
Molinaro attempts a one-two with El Kaddouri to try and force his way forward on the left, but the Moroccan decides not to supply a return pass. He instead pulls the trigger from 25 yards and fails to get anywhere near the target.
12'
M. Benassi gets yellow.
Quagliarella is clipped out on the right following a late challenge by Criscito, and, although the Torino man doesn't go to ground, the referee awards a free kick. Darmian dinks it towards the near post, where Danny heads it behind for a corner.
The corner is taken short but Toro soon lose possession, with Benassi going into the book for pulling back Hulk as he attempted to start a counterattack.
10'
Danny, Shatov and Smolnikov combine brilliantly on the right, with the latter getting to the byline to stand a cross up at the far post. There is no one attacking it, though, and the visitors come away with possession.
8'
Zenit are seeing much more of the ball in the opening stages, with Danny coming deep and looking to provide the spark that will unlock the Torino defence. Eventually it is moved to Hulk, who snatches at a shot from 25 yards and drags it wide of the target.
6'
Molinaro is far too eager to dispossess Shatov in a wide-right position, climbing all over the back of him and eventually conceding a free kick. Hulk bends it into the middle, but no one makes a run onto it and Padelli is able to collect it.
4'
GOOD SAVE! Moments after Martinez fails to convert Benassi's cross at the near post, Zenit counterattack. Rondon wriggles into space inside the box before having his shot kept out of the bottom corner by Padelli! Danny delivers the resultant corner, but the keeper claims it with ease.
2'
Hulk wins the ball out on the left inside Torino's half, and the hosts manage to keep hold of it. Possession is worked back to Criscito, who sends a cross into the box with Witsel as the intended target. The Belgian does get his head on the ball, but there's not enough power on his effort to worry Padelli.

We are underway in St Petersburg!
The Europa League last 16 gets underway tonight, and first up is Torino's trip to the Petrovsky Stadium in St Petersburg to take on Zenit. There was plenty of drama in the Champions League earlier this week, so let's hope the excitement continues tonight! My name is Tom Webber, and I will be guiding you through all the action.
Zenit come into the game in good form after their two-and-a-half-month break from competitive football, with three consecutive wins without conceding a goal under their belt. They cruised past PSV in the previous round but have not progressed beyond this stage of a European tournament since lifting the UEFA Cup in 2008. Could this be their year?
Torino have lost just once in 12 Europa League games this season, and that defeat came against HJK Helsinki in the group stage. However, after taking the lead at Udinese at the weekend, Toro succumbed to a 3-2 defeat, ending a run of nine games unbeaten in all competitions. They will be keen for a quick turn around in their fortunes today, with a potential quarter-final berth on the line.
ZENIT TEAM NEWS: Andre Villas-Boas makes just one change from his side’s 3-0 win over Ural at the weekend, with Aleksandr Ryazantsev dropping to the bench to make way for Hulk. Salomon Rondon, who netted a hat-trick in Saturday’s victory, leads the line at the Petrovsky Stadium.
TORINO TEAM NEWS: Giampiero Ventura is less conservative than his counterpart this evening, making five changes from the side that were defeated by Udinese at the weekend. Cesare Bovo, Bruno Peres, Giuseppe Vives, Alexander Farnerud and Maxi Lopez are the players who make way. Nikola Maksimovic, Matteo Darmian, Omar El Kaddouri, Marco Benassi and Josef Martinez are drafted in as the coach rotates his squad.
Torino (3-5-2): Padelli; Maksimovic, Glik, Moretti; Darmian, Benassi, Gazzi, El Kaddouri, Molinaro; Martinez, Quagliarella.
Torino bench: Castellazzi, Bovo, Silva, Farnerud, Vives, Lopez, Amauri.
Zenit suffered defeat the last time they hosted Italian opposition, going down 3-2 to AC Milan in the 2012-13 Champions League. They have only won against a team from Italy’s top flight on their own patch once in four attempts, but their overall home record in this competition is formidable; they are undefeated in their last 12 Europa League games in Russia.
Torino’s only previous visit to Russia came in the second round of the 1992 UEFA Cup, when a 0-0 draw with Dinamo Moscow was not enough to save them from an early elimination following their 2-1 defeat at home in the first leg. After becoming the first Italian side to win at San Mames in the competition's last round, though, they may well fancy their chances anywhere.
The teams are heading out onto the pitch now, so kick off will be upon us in just a few moments!
HALF TIME - Zenit 1-0 Torino: The visitors started the game in a highly resilient fashion, but once Benassi was dismissed for two yellow cards gaps began to open. Villas-Boas' men took full advantage, netting the opening goal through Witsel. With the Russian side becoming more confident in the latter stages of the half, Venturi's team will need to be at their best after the interval to avoid letting this tie get away from them.
The teams are back out, and the second half will commence momentarily.
FULL TIME - Zenit 2-0 Torino: The Russian side secure a two-goal lead in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie with Toro, who played more than an hour with 10 men following Benassi's dismissal. Goals from Witsel and Criscito earned them the win, but Villas-Boas may have wanted more from his side. The tie is by no means over, though, as the Granata have been impressive on their own patch this season.
That is all we have time for this evening. Thanks for joining me, Tom Webber, and have a great night.
