There's the final whistle! Boos and jeers rain down from the stadium, while Mihajlovic and his staff are jubliant on the touchline!
90' +4
Eto'o is penalised for a foul on Mapou after the Frenchman dispossesses him down on the left. He doesn't care about that, though.
90' +3
Eder is replaced by Wszolek as Mihajlovic makes his final change of the night.
90' +2
P. Wszołek enters the game and replaces Éder.
CHANCE FOR A THIRD! Sampdoria break at pace again, but Duncan takes too long to pull the trigger as he enters the box before Muriel drags the follow-up wide of the near post.
90' +1
We are into the first of four additional minutes.
OFF THE LINE! Florenzi's corner is directed on target by the head of Astori, but Palombo is perfectly positioned to clear it off the line and out for a corner!
89'
Time is running out for Roma, and the whistles have started in the stands. The fans are going to be extremely disappointed in failing to win at home yet again.
87'
There are claims for handball inside the box from the Roma players as Doumbia attempts to ball-juggle his way beyond the Sampdoria defence. Yet again, though, the referee isn't interested in their calls at all.
86'
M. Pjanić gets yellow.
85'
Although their opponents have been reduced to 10 men, Sampdoria are happy to sit back for the remainder and see this game out. They know they've won it, and they've executed their gameplan to perfection tonight.
83'
Finally, play restarts and Roma fail to make anything of the corner. Their night has gone from bad to worse.
Minute
Description
82'
Keita won't make his way off the pitch and it takes the intervention of numerous players to get him to do so. He eventually obliges but stays just behind the goal, so a member of the Roma coaching staff has to race around the pitch to drag him back! You'd expect better from such an experienced player.
81'
S. Kéita gets yellow.
S. Kéita goes off after a red card!
ANOTHER GREAT SAVE FROM VIVIANO! The keeper gets down low to keep Pjanic's effort out of the bottom corner! How did he get down there? That was a stunning stop.
RED CARD FOR KEITA! The Malian is shown a yellow card before Roma take the corner and sarcastically applauds the referee for his decision. Clearly not taking to that kindly, he shows him a second yellow which results in his dismissal!
80'
GOOD STOP! Verde comes inside from the right and finds space from which to whip a shot towards the target. It's curling and looping but Viviano watches it all the way and parries it behind!
78'
L. Muriel has scored a goal for Sampdoria!
GOOOOOOOAAAL!! MURIEL MAKES IT TWO! Roma are caught on the counterattack, with the Colombian racing forward on the left before checking inside of Astori and rattling the post. The Blucerchiati keep it alive, with Duncan and Eder both involved, before the ball falls back to the former Udinese man who slams it into the back of the net!
77'
Florenzi supplies another poor cross from the right, delivering it too high for Doumbia to get on at the back post. The crowd groan in exasperation.
76'
Verde wins a corner as his cross is blocked by Romagnoli, and he races over to take the set-piece quickly with Ljajic. The Serbian's touch lets him down in the box, though, and the Blucerchiati again come away with the ball.
74'
L. Muriel enters the game and replaces S. Okaka.
Sampdoria catch Roma on the break, with Eto'o carrying the ball through the middle. He has Romagnoli to his left but instead passes to the other side for Eder. The Brazilian then pulls the trigger from the edge of the box and fires wide of the upright.
73'
Torosidis is withdrawn to make way for Ljajic, so Florenzi will probably move to the right-back position now.
72'
A. Ljajić enters the game and replaces V. Torosidis.
Verde tries his luck with an effort from distance and, although it never looks like worrying Viviano, Romagnoli sticks a leg out to block it and sends it out for a corner. The defender is again on hand to head away the resulting set-piece, and Sampdoria clear. Florenzi whips a cross in from the right, looking for Doumbia, but the keeper punches it away.
70'
Torosidis has been getting into central areas with regularity this evening, and he finds a pocket of space at the top of the box. Upon receiving the ball he can only move it onto his left, though, and he smashes a powerful effort over the roof of the goal.
68'
S. Doumbia enters the game and replaces J. Iturbe.
Iturbe is the man to make way for Doumbia, who is yet to find the net for Roma.
67'
Yet another disappointing delivery from Florenzi as his free kick from the left sails over everybody in the box and goes behind for a goal kick. Doumbia is now being readied on the touchline. Highest-scoring player Ljajic, meanwhile, is still sat on the bench.
65'
STAT: Before tonight, Sampdoria had failed to score in their last four meetings with the Giallorossi in all competitions.
63'
D. Verde enters the game and replaces F. Totti.
A. Duncan enters the game and replaces Pedro Obiang.
Garcia hauls off Totti and replaces him with the young Verde. Mihajlovic also makes a substitution, withdrawing Obiang, who was on a yellow card, for Duncan.
62'
Well, how are Roma going to respond to that? They've struggled to break down Sampdoria for prolonged periods this evening, and it may become even harder if Mihajlovic's men simply try and hold onto this one-goal advantage.
60'
L. De Silvestri has scored a goal for Sampdoria! Assist by A. Romagnoli.
GOOOOOOOAAAL!! SAMPDORIA LEAD! An to make matters worse, it's scored by a former Lazio player! A corner is taken short to Eto'o and he races into the box along the byline, beating Iturbe and Pjanic before sending a cutback into the middle. Romagnoli gets a slight touch to it before it falls to De Silvestri, who holds off Florenzi and stabs the ball into the net!
58'
Gervinho comes over to the left this time and he runs at De Silvestri again. He goes to ground inside the box as he attempts to beat him down the outside, but the referee isn't interested in claims for a penalty.
57'
They try a training-ground routine from the set-piece, with the ball worked to Eto'o at the top of the box. The Cameroonian's effort was blocked by a Giallorossi shirt, though, and De Sanctis remains yet to make a meaningful save.
56'
D. Astori gets yellow.
Astori is shown a yellow card after dragging Okaka to ground as he looked to bring down a long pass up from the back. The visitors have a free kick in a central area, 30 yards from goal.
55'
Gervinho twists and turns away from Romagnoli on the right wing before spinning to the byline and drilling a cross into the middle. No one attacks it at the near post, though, and Viviano smothers it.
53'
Soriano plays a lovely pass in behind the defence for Eder on the right wing, before continuing his run to provide the Brazilian with an option in the box. The Blucerchiati's highest-scoring player does try to find the midfielder, but De Sanctis reads his intentions and comes from his line to claim the ball.
52'
Florenzi's delivery is poor once more, with the nearest defender knocking it out of the box. It sits up for Iturbe 20 yards out, but he slices his attempt miles off target. It ends up closer to the corner flag than the goal!
51'
A. Palombo gets yellow.
Palombo is the third Sampdoria player to be shown a yellow card tonight as he fouls Gervinho out on the left wing as the Ivorian shifts the ball towards the byline. Another good opportunity for the hosts here.
50'
Roma seem to have picked up where they left off at the interval, with some positive, attacking play that really stretched their opponents.
48'
That is wasteful from Florenzi! The midfielder slices a shot from 30 yards both high and wide of the target after being teed up by Gervinho. He should have just helped it on towards Torosidis on the right.
47'
JUST WIDE! Florenzi teases a great free kick in from the right which bounces into the path of Totti at the back post, but it comes off his chest and goes the wrong side of the upright!
46'
We are back underway!
45' +2
There is the half-time whistle!
45' +1
GREAT SAVE! Viviano again denies Roma, getting a strong hand to Gervinho's effort after the Ivorian had sprung the offside trap to get in behind the defence. The resultant corner almost drops for Totti at the near post, but yet again the keeper is there to block his attempt to break the deadlock.
45'
ALMOST AN OWN GOAL! Gervinho finds space on the left as Roma break, and he darts to the byline before playing a cross into the six-yard box. Pjanic slides in but fail to connect and it takes a goal-line dive from Viviano to stop Regini's touch from sending the ball into the back of the net!
44'
TOTTI! The striker lets fly with a diagonal effort from 20 yards that bounces off the slick turf and skids into the arms of Viviano!
43'
The Giallorossi have looked more dangerous in the closing stages of this half, but Silvestre is again on hand to clear Iturbe's cross with Totti lurking just behind him.
41'
TWO GREAT CHANCES FOR ROMA! First, Regini sends a short backpass towards Viviano, and Gervinho looks to race onto it. The keeper rushes out and does enough to put the Ivorian off, but his clearance drops to Torosidis out wide. The Greek flights a brilliant ball to Totti at the back post, but he misses a header and fails to hit the target!
39'
M. Silvestre gets yellow.
Things are getting a little bit scrappy now. A number of passes are being misplaced and some clumsy challenges are going in too. Silvestre catches Iturbe in front of the dugout but the referee plays the advantage. Nothing much comes of it, but, with the Argentine still down, Sampdoria knock the ball out of play. The official uses the break to show the Blucerchiati centre-back a yellow card.
37'
Obiang might have got away with one there! The midfielder is on a yellow card and he sticks out a leg to contest a high ball with Torosidis on the far side. He only connects with the Greek, though, but it isn't spotted by the officials!
36'
There's no lasting problems for the Brazilian, though, as he soon jogs back onto the pitch to continue to play his part in the action. Roma take a throw down by the corner flag, but Pjanic instantly returns it to an offside Holebas.
35'
Oh, that's going to hurt! Eder races across to stop Holebas from sending a cross into the box, and he bears the brunt of the impact between his legs. His doubled over on the deck following that, and I'm not at all surprised!
33'
Totti pulls out to the right and again teases another great cross into the box. Iturbe arrives just a little too late to get his foot to it on the edge of the six-yard box, though.
32'
Eto'o has stayed down after getting his head to a long Roma pass forward. He had Iturbe nearby and, although there was minimal contact between the two, he rolls around on the deck. The Argentine goes across to investigate and quickly helps the former Chelsea man back to his feet. He'll be fine to continue.
30'
De Silvestri again pushes up on the right and after receiving the ball from Soriano, he lifts a delightful pass into the midfielder's path. He brings it down on his chest in the box but Keita gets between him and the ball. The referee spots the Sampdoria man's shove on the Mali international and awards the hosts a free kick.
28'
GOOD SAVE! Gervinho races down the left before skipping across the top of the box and feeding Gervinho on the right-hand side of the area. The Argentine heads back in field before firing a pass into Totti, who takes a touch before firing a shot which Viviano bats away!
27'
STAT: Roma have won 55 of their 129 Serie A meetings with Sampdoria, with the Blucerchiati triumphant on 39 occasions.
25'
Florenzi sprints through the centre of the park and bundles the ball towards Gervinho at the top of the box. The Ivorian takes a touch before going to ground under pressure from De Silvestri, but the referee waves the claims for a penalty away.
24'
Pedro Obiang gets yellow.
Obiang is the first man to be shown a yellow card tonight, and it comes following a late challenge on Florenzi in midfield.
22'
Roma win a corner out on the right but Florenzi's delivery is poor and it is headed away by the first man. The Giallorossi have looked fairly blunt up top, and Sampdoria's stoic defending really isn't making it easy for them.
20'
Mapou is there to make an important intervention again, this time sliding in to get his body in the way of Eder's shot after another tidy ball down the right from Okaka. Sampdoria do look a threat on the counterattack.
19'
Torosidis pushes into the middle of the box and gets his head on a cross from Totti, but the delivery is looping and that makes it hard for the Greek to get enough power on his effort. His header goes down into the ground before bouncing up for a comfortable save for Viviano.
18'
GOAAL! NO, IT'S OFFSIDE! Florenzi clips the free kick over the top of the defence and Keita latches onto it and smashes an acrobatic volley into the back of the net. However, he made his run too early and the flag goes up on the far side. It is the correct decision!
17'
Roma are awarded a free kick in a dangerous area as Romagnoli fouls Gervinho from behind as the Ivorian beat him to Totti's pass forward from the right. Florenzi stands over it, but it may be at too awkward of an angle to go directly for goal.
15'
Iturbe is penalised for a foul on De Silvestri at the top of the Sampdoria box as he goes in for a long pass forward. He was never going to win the ball there, and simply wipes out his opponent once he's headed it clear!
13'
Totti's cross is parried behind by Viviano as it bounces across the face of goal, and from the resultant corner Pjanic receives the ball to feet inside the box. The Bosnian fires a shot on target with his right foot but it's straight at the feet of the keeper, who drops on top of it.
12'
Mapou makes an important tackle! Eto'o was running at the former Newcastle United defender, and had he beaten him he would've been one-on-one with De Sanctis in the box. The centre-back sticks out a leg and takes the ball away from the Cameroonian on the edge of the area.
10'
Sampdoria get out of their own half, with Okaka clipping a pass down the line for Eder to latch onto. The Brazilian is forced back out of the area and offloads to De Silvestri, whose cross into the box is headed away at the back post by Torosidis. The hosts counter at speed, but Gervinho's ball to Iturbe has too much weight behind it.
9'
The Blucerchiati's deep defending is making it difficult for Gervinho and Iturbe to use their space to get in behind. Eto'o and Eder are tracking all the way to practically make it six across the back when they are without possession.
7'
Roma are now beginning to settle in possession and push Sampdoria deep inside their own half. Mihajlovic's men look well-disciplined, though, as they hold a solid shape and force their hosts across from wing to wing.
5'
Keita moves the ball out to Holebas on the left, and the Greek is squared up by Eder. The Brazilian does a good job of showing him down the outside before sticking in a leg and dispossessing him just outside the area.
3'
Neither side is yet to really hold onto the ball for a prolonged period, with long passes quickly being mopped up by the opposition. It's a very wet surface tonight, so that could have an impact on the way this match plays out.
1'
We are underway in Rome! Sampdoria put eight men on the halfway line at kick off, playing the ball back before pumping it deep into Roma's half. Astori heads it out and the hosts nearly catch the Blucerchiati short on the counterattack, but Gervinho is adjudged offside from Totti's pass.
Good evening and welcome to LIVE coverage of Roma hosting Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A. The Giallorossi are unbeaten in 16 league games, but they’ve shared the points in eight of their last nine league outings and, as a result, their title challenge has suffered. The Blucerchiati may hope that works to their advantage as a result tonight would hugely boost their European hopes. My name is Tom Webber, and I will be guiding you through all the action.
Rather than hunting down Juventus at the Serie A summit, Roma are now being forced to cast their gaze further down the table as their stuttering form has seen the rest of the pack edge closer to them. Napoli and Lazio are both hot on their heels, while Sampdoria could move to within five points of them with a win tonight!
ROMA TEAM NEWS: Rudi Garcia is without Kostas Manolas, Kevin Strootman and Daniele De Rossi due to injury, while Radja Nainggolan misses out due to suspension. There is some good news for the Giallorossi faithful, though, as Francesco Totti returns to the starting line-up after missing the Europa League draw with Fiorentina last week with a thigh injury.
SAMPDORIA TEAM NEWS: There are two changes from Sinisia Mihajlovic for his side's visit to Rome, and only one of them is enforced. Afriyie Acquah is replaced in midfield by Roberto Soriano as the Ghanaian serves a band, while Luis Muriel makes way for Stefano Okaka in the attacking trident alongside Samuel Eto'o and Eder.
Roma (4-3-3): De Sanctis; Torosidis, Mapou, Astori, Holebas; Pjanic, Keita, Florenzi; Gervinho, Totti, Iturbe.
No Roma player has scored against Sampdoria more times than the current captain Totti, who has breached the Blucerchiati net on 14 occasions. Garcia will be hopeful the veteran can replicate some of his previous displays against the Genovese outfit tonight, perhaps more so because he's only scored three times so far in 2015.
Sampdoria have won just once in their last 12 visits to face Roma at the Olimpico, losing eight. The Blucerchiati’s last win against the Giallorossi on their own path came in April 2010, when Giampaolo Pazzini netted a double to earn a 2-1 win after Totti had opened the scoring.
Roma's city-rivals Lazio have defeated Torino 2-0 tonight, sending them just one point behind the Giallorossi in the table! Garcia's men can ill afford another slip up this evening.
The teams are heading out onto the pitch in the sodden Italian capital, so kick off will be upon us shortly.
HALF TIME - Roma 0-0 Sampdoria: It's an all-too-familiar scoreline for the Giallorossi at the interval as they go in level with the Blucerchiati. They struggled to break down the visitors hefty defence until the late stages of the half, when Totti and Gervinho both pulled saves from Viviano. There was almost an own goal from Regini, too, so be sure to stick around for the second half!
The teams are back out on the pitch, so the second half will begin momentarily.
FULL TIME - Roma 0-2 Sampdoria: The hosts pulled plenty of saves from Viviano, but the keeper was on top of his game to deny them time and again. The Blucerchiati defended well and eventually got their goals through De Silvestri and Muriel, before Keita made his side's nice even worse by getting sent off for sarcastically applauding the referee! The Giallorossi's dismal run continues!
Roma's first defeat at home this season means they fail to close the gap to Juventus from 14 points. They now have four teams within five points of them in second position, one of which is Sampdoria, though they remain sixth.
That's all we have time for tonight. Thanks for joining me, Tom Webber, and have a great evening.
