Alderweireld is stretchered off and looking quite immobile as he goes - very worrying scenes. The game continues, with the Saints now down a man and a goal.
90' +5
The added time is all up now but the game has not yet resumed with Alderweireld still being evaluated on the pitch. Presumably the whistle will be blown as soon as he's attended to.
90' +2
Things are getting testy here as Alderweireld and Pieters tussle in possession, causing the Saints man to fall awkwardly on his shoulder. He hasn't gotten up and this looks potentially serious.
90' +1
Into the first of four added on minutes here and Crouch misses a wide open net! It's absolutely shocking again from the visitors, as Yoshida loses the ball all of his own accord, allowing Walters to slip past him. Walters and Crouch have just the keeper to beat and when it's squared to the former Liverpool man, he sprays his shot wide!
89'
Clyne has the ball down the right, works it into space, and crosses it into the box. Shawcross rises tall to clear but it only ends up back to Alderweireld, who tries a cross himself that goes high over everyone.
88'
E. Elia gets yellow.
Hughes' half-time speech clearly worked as his side have now become just the second team to score more than once when Southampton came to visit - and this is the first time since the opening weekend! Elia's first involvement is a late challenge on Walters, cutting across the player and earning a booking just seconds after coming on!
86'
S. Long enters the game and replaces R. Bertrand.
E. Elia enters the game and replaces S. Davis.
A double change for Koeman now as he tries to get his side back into this, with Long and Elia coming on for Bertrand and Davis.
84'
C. Adam has scored a goal for Stoke City!
CHARLIE ADAM SCORES! STOKE HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS GAME - AND WHAT A MOMENT TO DO IT! He pounced on a loose ball in the box after the Saints struggled to clear, following Ward-Prowse's poor clearance. Davis then tries to clear the ensuing cross but only pushes the ball backwards, and it gets to Adam who just lashes it into the net! That was shambolic defending from the visitors who have one of the best defences in the league and are now in serious trouble!
82'
Ouch and that looked nasty - Pelle and N'Zonzi collided fighting for a throw-in and they're both down holding vaious parts of their bodies. They're taken off for examination and both are set to come back on.
80'
After a shot from Crouch was collected easily by Davis, Adam commits a foul on Bertrand by shoving him over, who stays down stretching his hamstring.
Minute
Description
79'
A poor cross from Mane who sends the ball directly out of bounds from the sideline. There's a little more than ten minutes to go here and Begovic is in no rush to take this goal-kick.
78'
Clyne shepherds the ball to his keeper safely ahead of Arnautovic, who was lurking dangerously between the lines. On the other end, Pelle is whistled for a foul that he thinks should have gone the other way.
76'
S. Sidwell enters the game and replaces G. Whelan.
P. Crouch enters the game and replaces M. Diouf.
Stoke probably needed that double change, looking a little lethargic up front for most of this half, with the Saints doing all they can to regain the lead they lost just after halftime.
75'
Double change for Stoke, with Whelan off for Sidwell and Diouf on for Crouch. It sends a clear signal from Hughes, who wants his men to push on and win this now.
73'
Stoke are trying to work the ball down the right, but find their way blocked, so they shift to the left, but Wollscheid chips his pass directly out of bounds.
71'
Adam uses his arms to ward off Alderweireld and it's enough to win the visitors a free-kick in their own half, though it looks like the centre-back-made-midfielder has really made a meal of that!
70'
Whelan clears the first corner at the near post and the second takes two defenders to boot clear before Stoke try to break. N'Zonzi hesitates and that's enough to lose the chance to hurt the Saints while their shape is out of sorts from the corner.
69'
Mane nearly gets on the end of a cross from the right in the area but Stoke do just enough to knock it out for a corner. The pressure from the visitors is relentless though they haven't really tested Begovic much this half.
67'
J. Ward-Prowse enters the game and replaces D. Tadić.
Ward-Prowse comes on for Tadic, who's been working very hard this game. Southampton continue to try and make something down the left flank via Clyne but Stoke's centre-backs are clearing whatever is thrown their way.
66'
Clyne to Fonte to Bertrand, who takes two chances to cross it into the Stoke box only for Shawcross to head it clear. It's the visitors now who are dominating the possession and chances.
65'
Adam tries an audacious, deep, cross-field ball for Walters on the right flank but it sails high above his head. The Saints counter but the ball is taken off the foot of the winding-up-to-shoot Pelle!
63'
TADIC'S SHOT IS CLEARED OFF THE LINE! Begovic came out of his area to try and win the ball but Mane shields it and squares it to the midfielder, who fires a low shot that Pieters clears off of his own line!
60'
The home side working creatively to get the ball out of their own defence. Shawcross has a terrible clearance in the box and gives it right to Mane but instead of shooting, the visitor tries a backheel that goes to no one! What a bizarre sequence of events!
58'
The Saints are trying high balls over the top of the Stoke defence but to mixed result so far. Clyne tries to vary the approach with a cross towards the middle but it's far too in front of Pelle.
56'
And for a split second there, it looked like Mane was clear through the Stoke defence, but the flag is up and he is judged offside when that ball was played to him from Pelle. It looked like he was just onside however - the linesman may have had that one wrong!
54'
The visitors now have a corner in a half that's quickly becoming quite frantic. There's an electricity about this game and I doubt we've seen the last goal, as Begovic collects the corner and distributes wide to Adam whose cross into the box is cleared by Yoshida.
52'
Diouf fires his header just over from the corner, hanging near the far post and leaning back just slightly to get his head onto it!
51'
Stoke battle well to win the ball in their own box and break quickly. Arnautovic breaks away from Fonte and squares it to the other side, where N'Zonzi wins a corner.
49'
T. Alderweireld gets yellow.
The Saints press quickly, looking to immediately restore their lead. Unsurprisingly the crowd here has really roared into life following the goal. Shawcross comes out of his box to win possession from a dangerous pass from Mane.
47'
M. Diouf has scored a goal for Stoke City!
GOOOOOALLLL DIOUF! WHAT A START TO THE HALF! The game is level! N'Zonzi tries a cross into the box that hits the crossbar, bounces down, and falls kindly for Diouf who scores on the half-volley!
46'
C. Adam enters the game and replaces S. Ireland.
Charlie Adam, scorer of possibly the goal of the season against Chelsea a few weeks ago, comes on for Ireland who was more or less a passenger in the first half. The Saints begin with the ball this half, controlling it well but losing it when Pelle goes down under pressure in a fair challenge from Walters.
45'
Immense pressure from the home side now as they seek to head into this half level, with Diouf just straying offside while trying to get on the end of a pass. The Saints' defence is bending a little here but hasn't broken yet!
43'
AND HOW DID N'ZONZI NOT HIT THAT!?!? It's a superb free-kick from Arnautovic that finds Bertrand in the box, and he heads it on for N'Zonzi, who gets behind the defence and misses kicking the ball by mere centimetres alone with just Davis to beat!
42'
One fact Hughes will certainly have in mind: Southampton haven't conceded more than one goal away since the opening weekend of the season!
40'
Clyne's pace got the better of Pieters as both chased a ball heading towards Stoke's box, and the latter does all he can to push it out for a corner. The set piece is poor, though, and lets the full-back off the hook.
39'
Very, very poor from Mane who somehow drifted offside when the Saints were counter-attacking with a man advantage! Stoke's defence is looking particularly porous now.
38'
N. Clyne gets yellow.
37'
Yoshida clears the ball from his box but Stoke win it back via Arnautovic before Clyne can slide in on the wide player again and win it. The full-back is booked moments later after losing the ball to Pieters and trying to win it back - if he was just a second later, it could've been a red, as he went in rather recklessly with his studs showing!
35'
Now it's Clyne who blasts over, under pressure from Pieters and Arnautovic after rushing onto Mane's pass in the box. The Saints are doing well to create chances with just a few simple passes but they simply have to be better at finishing!
34'
Fonte rushes over to cover from the ensuing free-kick and clears the ball. He and Yoshida in particular are having no problems at all dealing with these crosses from Stoke's wide players.
32'
Clyne now wins and takes a throw-in down his right flank but Pelle commits a foul winning the ball and possession is back to the home side. Stoke have struggled to create much in the final third since conceding.
30'
Bertrand and Tadic do well to win the ball high up the pitch and pass it to Pelle, who cuts inside the box and fires a low shot. It's right at Begovic, though.
28'
It's an increasingly cagey affair in the midfield now. Both teams are finding it more and more difficult to overcome the middle of the pitch, with Alderweireld putting in a fantastic tackle on Ireland.
26'
Excellent defending from Clyne who slides in with a well-timed tackle to win the ball off of Pieters. The duel between these two on the far side of the pitch is quickly becoming one of the match's more intriguing battles.
25'
It's well-worked from the corner and winds up on the head of Shawcross, who glances a header towards the far post and watches the ball drift wide.
24'
Stoke have a good chance to equalize immediately as Arnautovic takes a free-kick, going for finesse but hitting the wall which deflects it out for a corner.
22'
M. Schneiderlin has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by José Fonte.
GOOOOAAAALL SCHNEIDERLIN! From the corner, Fonte rose very high above Whelan to power a header towards net. The Frenchman got a touch but it was going into the far post anyway - and the visitors are ahead!
21'
The Saints break, with Davis trying to play a quick pass to Pelle that gets deflected for a corner. They moved down the pitch lightning-quick and Hughes' men will want to be aware of their pace.
20'
Ireland earns a round of applause as he skips around Mane before spraying a solid ball out wide to Pieters, who fights tooth and nail to keep possession away from Clyne.
19'
Stoke spend quite a bit of time trying to work an opening and then Whelan spurs the momentum with a poor pass that only finds Bertrand. The former Chelsea man hoofs a long ball up towards Pelle that Begovic gracefully scoops up in the box.
17'
Pelle lashes a shot into the side netting! The Italian just snuck ahead of Wollschied to get on the end of a low pass in the box from Mane, and his first-time effort goes agonizingly wide for Koeman's men!
15'
José Fonte gets yellow.
Fonte pulls down Diouf on the counter after Davis's backpass was intercepted by the striker and he's immediately whistled and booked for that. He knows his error and doesn't protest the decision. Shawcross heads wide from the ensuing free-kick played into the box.
14'
Stoke are a little eager to shoot here so far, with Arnautovic now driving inside from the flank from over 25 yards out and firing a low shot that doesn't trouble Davis for a second.
13'
N'Zonzi gets knocked over about halfway up the pitch, winning his side a free-kick that they play backwards. It's hoofed up to Walters to head back to a teammate but he's flagged offside.
11'
Right to the other end, where Ireland just pushes over Mane and referee Mark Clattenburg waves play on! The crowd boo Mane for falling over easily but that was a risky, risky moment for the former Manchester City man!
10'
Clyne again is asked to chase a ball with far too much pace on it and he can do nothing to keep it in bounds. So far he's a little disconnected from the play here, and Tadic uses this opportunity to try a very long range effort that gets deflected off a centre-back before Bertrand puts in a superb tackle on Cameron during the follow up!
8'
On the other flank now it's Bertrand and Tadic trying to play a cool one-two to break past Cameron but the home side's defence is well-set to prevent the opportunity from arising. Both teams are looking to use the width of the pitch early on here rather than working the ball down the middle.
6'
Cameron takes a deep throw-in, finding Walters on the near post of the visitors' box but he's unable to contort his header towards his teammates. There are a few nervy seconds where Stoke look like they'll deliver a second ball but eventually it's cleared high for Clyne to chase down his flank.
4'
N'Zonzi skies a shot over the bar! It looked a promising break from Stoke after Yoshida lost the ball by the sideline under pressure from Diouf, who got to the box and squared it for his teammate, but the Saints were truly let off the hook with that attempt!
3'
The visitors, in their all-black kit, are doing well in these very early moments to press fiercely in the midfeild and not give Stoke much time on the ball. A free-kick is floated towards Pelle but cleared by Pieters on the edge of the box.
1'
AND WE HAVE KICK-OFF! It's Stoke who start with the ball, playing it cautiously around the back before trying to get it down the left flank. It's picked off by Schneiderlin, who loses it moments later, forcing Fonte into a strong header clear in the box.
Hello and welcome to our live match coverage of Stoke City v Southampton! It's 10th hosting 6th in the Premier League as we enter the home stretch of the season, with much left to play for. The visitors are just one point behind Liverpool and five away from the final Champions League spot, and Ronald Koeman dares to dream.
Recent form looks to keep things quite interesting here. Southampton have three wins, a draw and a loss in their last five; the home side have just one win in that span. The Saints' away form has been a little spotty though, as they haven't won by more than one goal in over six matches and they have no away wins in their last three.
There are quite a few injuries for both sides to contend with. Mark Hughes won't have Moses, Odemwingie, or long-term absentee Bojan to call upon, while Koeman is missing a rash of names including Wanyama through suspension and Forster.
The big storyline from today's match, of course, is if the Saints can put pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City. With City hosting West Ham and Liverpool playing Everton in the derby, this weekend may be as good as any left for Koeman and his men to continue to defy expectations.
No matter the result, the Saints have already had a superb season, matching their points tally from last year already with several games left to go here. Hughes, too, has done fantastic work as Stoke chase back-to-back top half finishes for the first time in 40 years.
The two teams are walking onto the pitch and we're just moments away from kickoff now!
And that's the half! Southampton have done what they've needed to in this half, looking threatening on the counter and scoring the only goal that separates the sides so far.
The home side are far, far from out of this though, looking more and more lively as the half went on. Hughes will surely want more of the same, with Arnautovic in particular needing to get more into the game and serving as the creative force without Bojan's trickery or Moses' pace. Join us in 15 for the second half!
AND THAT'S THE GAME! Stoke notch their first victory in five thanks to a late winner from Adam that continues some very, very good work from Hughes this season.
Of course the real story here is how this loss affects the Saints who were still hoping for a Champions' League spots. Depending on how Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool do this weekend, that dream may be all but over now. They have no one to blame but themselves for some uncharacteristically shambolic defending and they were punished twice for their errors. Thanks for joining us here today!
