And we're off! Milan get us underway, attacking from left to right.
It’s been a woeful season for Milan, one that they will want to forget quickly and end on a high with six points from their final two games of the campaign. They currently sit in 10th place, equal on points with both Palermo and Sassuolo but dangerously close to dropping out of the top half of the table if they fail to finish the season with victories. With just one win from their last seven league clashes, that looks as if it could be a real possibility, and it would result in them finishing in the bottom half for the first time since 1997.
As for Torino, they currently sit five points clear of Milan in ninth place and are on course for a second consecutive top-half finish, whilst the possibility of qualifying for the Europa League is still alive thanks to UEFA’s refusal to grant Genoa with a licence. As a result, seventh place could open up as a qualification spot, and a win today will move Giampiero Ventura’s side just one point behind Sampdoria, who currently occupy that spot, heading into the final game of the season next weekend.
Milan XI (4-3-3): Abbiati; Zaccardo, Alex, Paletta, Bocchetti; Poli, De Jong, Van Ginkel; Honda, Pazzini, El Shaarawy.
Milan substitutes: Destro, Mastour, Piccinocchi, Di Molfetta, Lopez, Cerci, Mexes, Felicioli, Donnarumma, Zapata, Mastalli.
Torino XI (3-5-2): Padelli; Darmian, Glik, Moretti; Peres, Vives, Gazzi, El Kaddouri, Molinaro; Amauri, Martinez.
Filippo Inzaghi has decided to make five changes to the Milan side that started last weekend’s 3-2 defeat away to Sassuolo, with Christian Abbiati, Cristian Zaccardo, Salvatore Bocchetti, Giampaolo Pazzini and Stephan El Shaarawy all coming into the squad to replace Diego Lopez, Ignazio Abate, Daniele Bonera, Mattia Destro and Giacomo Bonaventura, respectively.
Meanwhile, Torino boss Giampiero Ventura has made four alterations to the side that won 2-0 at home to Chievo, with Nikola Maksimovic, Pontus Jansson, Gaston Silva and Maxi Lopez making way for Kamil Glik, Bruno Peres, Cristian Molinaro and Amauri.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Serie A clash between Milan and Torino. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from San Siro.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: MILAN 1-0 TORINO
It's been a thoroughly entertaining first half that ended in spectacular style. Despite Milan starting the better of the two sides, resulting in El Shaarawy's 18th-minute goal, Torino slowly grew into the game, and by the end they were on the front foot, with the hosts suddenly finding themselves under plenty of pressure. Zaccardo's late red card will no doubt cause the Rossoneri even more problems, and Torino are guaranteed to come out all guns blazing after the half-time break.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: MILAN 3-0 TORINO
In the end, it was a comfortable victory for Milan, who looked better in the second half than they have for most of the season. El Shaarawy was particularly excellent, whilst Pazzini also looked up for the fight, and Torino found it increasingly difficult to deal with the destructive duo. After the latter's penalty the visitors all but gave up, allowing the hosts to calmly jog to victory in their final home game of what has been a truly awful season.
The victory keeps Milan in the top half of the table in 10th place, now just two points behind Torino heading into their final clash of the campaign against Atalanta. The visitors, meanwhile, are at home to already-relegated Cesena in their last game of the season.
My name is Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing all of the action to you today. Until next time, goodbye!
