Only one minute to go now and Beto contributes to some more time wasting as he complains about a ghost challenge by Parolo after collecting a corner kick out of the air.
90' +2
Gabbiadini slides a neat pass into the right channel for Matri and the former on-loan Juventus striker drives ahead before finding himself in a great position inside the box. He attempts to catch Beto out at the front post with a powerful shot but ends up skewing his strike high and wide over the bar. Disappointing.
90'
A rather charitable five minutes has been added by the referee and there is no doubt that, as well as the flurry of substitutions, Portugal's time wasting has contributed to the amount of time given. Can Italy take advantage to net the equaliser?
88'
SAVE FROM BETO! Gabbiadini picks up possession on the edge of the penalty box and turns sharply on to his left foot before drilling a lovely strike towards the right corner, but his attempt is turned round the post by the Sevilla goalkeeper! We remain at 1-0!
87'
Pizzi enters the game and replaces Ricardo Quaresma.
86'
Final change from Portugal now and it will see the influential Quaresma leave the action, and his replacement will be Benfica forward, Pizzi. The former Barcelona man has probably been the star player tonight.
84'
Having said that, Portugal are really frustrating Italy here with their time wasting tactics as we approach the last few minutes. A succession of Portuguese players have went down with injuries with nobody really around them, and the latest is Beto, who attempts to run down the clock by calling for the physio between the sticks.
82'
Eliseu gets yellow.
Even though this is a friendly, it seems the referee is still eager to enforce the rules to the letter as he issues a yellow card to Eliseu for proposed time wasting from a throw-in. Probably a bit harsh in the circumstances but rules are rules!
80'
Ten minutes remaining now and Italy are running out of time to salvage something from this clash. Neither side has been anywhere near their best, and at this point it looks like it will be one moment of quality involving Quaresma and Eder that will settle this.
78'
Beto collects the ball inside his own box and instantly finds himself under pressure by the newly introduced Matri, who is full of gusto as he hunts down for possession. The Portugal keeper almost gets caught out but eventually manages to clear up the park. A little too close for comfort, I'm sure, for Fernando Santos!

Description
76'
M. Parolo enters the game and replaces A. Bertolacci.
Nani enters the game and replaces Silvestre Varela.
The changes are coming thick and fast now as both sides opt to delve into their ranks to freshen things up out on the pitch. For Italy, Marco Parolo replaces Bertolacci, and for Portugal, Varela comes off to be replaced by Nani, who receives a warm applause as enters the play.
74'
Another duo of substitutions now from Italy and we will see Manuel Pasqual and Alessandro Matri enter the action in place of De Sciglio and Immobile, who has been disappointing up top.
73'
M. Pasqual enters the game and replaces M. De Sciglio.
A. Matri enters the game and replaces C. Immobile.
Adrien Silva gets yellow.
72'
Quaresma steps over a free kick 30 yards out after a foul by Bertolacci and looks poised to test Sirigu between the sticks. The Porto winger steps up and manages to get his set-piece over the wall, but it doesn't dip in time to hurt the Italy goalkeeper.
70'
A. Bertolacci gets yellow.
Just about 20 minutes remaining in this glamour friendly clash and at the moment it looks like the Portuguese will be heading on their holidays much the happier, if they can manage to consolidate this 1-0 lead. Italy still have some more than capable players out there though! This isn't over yet!
68'
N. Sansone enters the game and replaces S. El Shaarawy.
Another substitution from the Azzurri and it will see El Shaarawy replaced by Nicola Sansone, who plies his trade with Serie A outfit, Sassuolo.
67'
DARMIAN! HOW CLOSE WAS THAT?! Pirlo turns beautifully on the edge of the box to leave his marker for dead before finding his compatriot with a threaded pass into the box. The Italy full-back quickly shifts the ball on to his left foot before rifling a strike aimed at the far corner, but his attempt flashes inches wide!
65'
Second change of the match from Antonio Conte and it will see the ineffectual Candreva, who netted a terrific penalty in the weekend's match over Croatia, replaced on the wing by Manolo Gabbiadini, who makes his fourth appearance for his country.
64'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces A. Candreva.
63'
El Shaarawy, who has been extremely quiet after nearly netting with that curled strike in the first period, attempts to take the game to Portugal with a strong run down the left channel, but ends up running the ball out of play after a poor touch. Probably sums his match up really!
61'
We get our first real glimpse of Vazquez after coming on as Italy's no.10 receives the ball to feet in between the Portugal midfield and defence. The substitute looks to turn and move ahead with a pacey dribble but he is stopped in his tracks by an excellent Moutinho tackle.
59'
Daniel Carriço enters the game and replaces Bruno Alves.
Portugal follow suit and make their fourth change of the match this evening and it will see Bruno Alves replaced in the centre of defence by Sevilla stopper, Daniel Carrico.
58'
F. Vázquez enters the game and replaces R. Soriano.
First change of the match from Italy and it will see Soriano, who was booked shortly after conceding the goal, replaced in the centre of the park by Palermo midfielder, Franco Vazquez.
56'
The lack of goalscoring chances in the opening half was so noticeable that you couldn't really begrudge one side for taking the lead over the other. On the balance of play it has been pretty even, but Portugal have capitalised on one moment of true quality to go ahead.
55'
R. Soriano gets yellow.
54'
Portugal are looking for more goals here and it is two of their substitutes, Eliseu and Adrien, who link up to good effect down the left. The latter eventually receives the ball in the centre and flashes a strike towards goal, but his attempt is dragged wide of the post. Decent attempt!
52'
Éder has scored a goal for Portugal! Assist by Ricardo Quaresma.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLL FOR PORTUGAL! WE DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT TOO LONG! Eliseu goes on a bursting run through the space down the left and then releases Quaresma, who curls a perfect cross with the outside of his foot into the box for Eder, who gets in between the Italy defenders to smash home from a couple of yards out! One-nil!
50'
This has been a very encouraging start to the second half here, folks! There has been a tempo and intensity, and well, desire, really, to press ahead and loo for goals - from both sides! Will we see our opening goal shortly?
48'
WHAT A MISS FROM BONUCCI! Pirlo whips a typically teasing corner kick into the box and it falls to Darmian, who sees his strike blocked. The Juventus defender meets the rebound but somehow manages to clear right over the crossbar from just outside the six-yard box! It should be 1-0 Italy!
46'
Adrien Silva enters the game and replaces Tiago.
Cédric Soares enters the game and replaces Vieirinha.
This international friendly is back under way!
A couple of changes to report for you from the break and they both come from Portugal. Tiago and Vieirinha both make way and they'll be replaced by Adrien Silva and Cedric respectively.
45'
Not surprisingly, there is only one minute of added time allocated by the referee, even with Coentrao going to the floor injured a couple of times. Quite a few of these players will probably have seen their last action this evening!
43'
Immobile drives forward through the middle and slides a pass square to Bertolacci, who looks to return the favour with a ball back inside to his Compatriot, but Vieirinha is on hand to make the excellent interception before laying the ball into space for Varela.
41'
Quaresma, rather ambitiously, goes for goal from a free kick around 40 yards out down the left channel. His attempt takes a bounce on its way through and almost fortuitously finds the feet of Alves at the back post, but the linesman has his flag up for offside.
39'
Portugal have definitely looked the better side in the last 10 minutes or so, and would have been ahead but for that fantastic clearance from Ranocchia. Just under six minutes remaining until the break, which will likely see a plethora of substitutions.
37'
There has been quite a few niggling fouls given away in this first half and the latest comes as Soriano takes out Quaresma from behind, who has came on the wrong end of many of the aforementioned challenges.
35'
Moutinho gets into a more advanced position this time and finds himself with the ball at his feet around 25 yards out. He doesn't see any pass on for a team-mate, so decided to have a crack at goal, but his attempt is relatively easily smothered upon by Beto, with no Portugal shirt following up.
33'
After that flurry of excitement in the final third the game has reverted back to a bit of a midfield battle in the last couple of minutes. Moutinho and Pirlo have been on form with their patient passing, but not a lot of penetration coming from either side.
31'
BLOCK ON THE LINE FROM RANOCCHIA! Sirigu receives the ball to feet at the back and languishes in possession far too long which allows Eder to pounce and steal at the byline before setting up Varela. The winger's strike looks destined to find the net but is denied by a fantastic clearance from the Inter defender!
29'
Varela displays an impressive turn of pace down the right wing this time and ends up teasing a lovely cross to the front post. Eder is sniffing around attempting to latch on the end of it, but Sirigu bravely comes off his line to snatch possession out of the air.
27'
El Shaarawy goes close! The Milan forward collects the ball down the left channel before cutting inside past the defender and whipping a wicked strike towards the far post! Beto is scrambling to get across but the attempt ends up going just wrong side of the net!
25'
Eder and Ranocchia get involved in an entertaining duel down the left-hand side as the Poruguese looks to break away into the space in the flank. Fernando Santos' outfit are eventually awarded the free kick as the Inter central defender shoves the attacker right in the back and out of the park.
24'
Eliseu enters the game and replaces Fábio Coentrão.
23'
No, Coentrao won't be able to continue here as he goes down shortly after coming back on, seemingly having succumbed to his hamstring injury. He will be replaced at left-back by Eliseu, who started the win over Armenia at the weekend.
22'
Some encouraging scenes now as Coentrao returns to play seemingly unscathed by the previous incident. The Real Madrid man did look to be in quite a lot of pain when he trudged off though, so it remains to be seen how long this rejuvenation will last.
21'
Some slightly worrying scenes for Portugal here as Coentrao is going to have to go off to receive treatment after innocuously going down clutching his hamstring. Danilo has went and filled in at left-back for the time being.
19'
JUST WIDE FROM BERTOLACCI! Candreva attempts to find Immobile with a pass through the middle which is excellently intercepted by the Portugal defence. The Genoa midfielder quickly pounces on the loose ball before taking an assured touch and lashing a left-footed strike at goal, but it whizzes by the left-hand post! Best move of the match so far!
17'
Pirlo's free kick disappointingly cannons off the top of the wall and goes behind for a corner. The Juventus midfielder then trudges over to take the set-piece, which is cleared out of the box, quickly instigating a Portugal counterattack. Quaresma leads the charge but finds himself outnumbered before eventually doing well to earn a foul inside the centre circle.
15'
The former Torino man is involved in the action positively again as he collects possession in a similar position before looking to take on the Portugal defence. In the end the attack comes to a swift halt as Danilo comes in with a poor, late challenge, sending the Italian crashing to the floor. Free kick to the Azzurri in a great area around 25 yards out.
13'
Immobile receives the ball to feet up top and turns sharply before driving into the box at pace. He makes his way into the left channel and just manages to nick the ball past the oncoming Fonte before lashing a shot-come-cross into the area, but neither Soriano nor Candreva makes up the ground to turn a strike into the empty net. Decent work from the Dortmund striker.
11'
We get our first real glimpse of Quaresma down the right wing as the Porto winger opens up his stride to burst into the space available. In the end he is clumsily bundled to the floor by the retreating Bertolacci, who concedes the foul. Decent position for a delivery here.
9'
Not really anything to speak of in terms of goalscoring action as of yet - from either side. For a friendly at the end of the season, it has probably started as expected, but there are still some proud faces out there who will want to sign off their season with a win.
7'
Varela pops up down the left flanks and typically goes down the outside to take on the full back. He does so successfully and shows a clean pair of heels to De Sciglio before swinging a cross into the box, but Sirigu proactively comes off his line to claim out of the air.
5'
It has took Portugal a couple of minutes to find their feet in their passing, but are now looking a lot more comfortable out there, with Moutinho in particular contributing to some current domination in the middle of the park. Two similarly balanced sides tonight though, so expect possession to be exchanged fairly regularly.
3'
Italy get an early free kick deep down the right-hand side as Bertolacci cuts in and looks to get past Coentrao, only to be cynically hacked down by the Real Madrid full-back. Pirlo eventually delivers into the danger area, but Portugal manage to clear.

We are under way in Geneva!
Good evening folks! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the international friendly clash between Italy and Portugal from the Stade de Geneve in Carouge, Geneva!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be taking you through the action!
Both sets of players in the Italy and Portugal squads have went through an arduous campaign at international and club level and now we finally reach the last fixture of the season for the vast majority of them, who will no doubt be looking forward to a break after playing out this glamour friendly meeting.
However, this match is certainly not without merit. The respective coaches of each nation, Fernando Santos and Antonio Conte, are feeling the pressure ever-so-slightly in their roles due to some recent underwhelming performances in Euro 2016 qualifying. Portugal, to their credit, currently top Group I but were once again forced to turn to Cristiano Ronaldo for a bail-out at the weekend as they were made to come back from behind against minnows, Armenia. The Real Madrid forward netted a hat-trick to seal all three points, but is unavailable for selection tonight after being granted early leave from the squad.
Italy, meanwhile, are positioned less encouragingly in second place in Group H – two points behind Croatia in top spot. The Azzurri are unbeaten in the group, but have become somewhat draw specialists in recent times, having only managed one win in their last five matches. Their latest point came in a behind-closed-doors clash against Niko Kovac's outfit on Friday evening, which ended 1-1. With the pressure off tonight, will they let the shackles off a bit?
Surprisingly, it has been seven years since two of Europe's big guns faced each other in an international fixture. The last match came in February 2008, when Italy ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Luca Toni, Fabio Cannavaro, and Fabio Quagliarella.
TEAM NEWS...
Italy (4-3-3): Sirigu; De Sciglio, Ranocchia, Bonucci, Darmian; Pirlo, Soriano, Bertolacci; Candreva, El Shaarawy, Immobile.
No surprises here, as both coaches make a sizeable six alterations each to their starting line-ups from the weekend matches. For Italy, Sirigu, De Sciglio, Ranocchia, Soriano, Bertolacci, and Immobile come in to replace Buffon, De Silvestri, Astori, Parolo, Marchisio and Pelle.
For Portugal, Rui Patricio, Eliseu, Carvalho, Nani, Danny, and Ronaldo all miss out, with Beto, Fonte, Danilo, Quaresma, Eder, and Varela all coming into the starting XI.
The players have took to the field and we are almost ready for kick-off!
Half time in Geneva. It has been a predictably tepid affair in this prestige friendly between Italy and Porugal as we head into the break at a 0-0 stalemate. It has by no means the worst match of the week, as we have seen a couple of decent goalscoring chances, but quite a few players out there already have their minds on the beach! Still, with plenty of subs coming our way, we might just get a little spark in the second period!
Full time in Geneva. Portugal end their season on a high as they run out narrow 1-0 winners over Italy in this glamour friendly. Antonio Conte suffers his first loss as boss of the Azzurri and it comes in a match that certainly felt like a non-competitive match at the end of the season. Not much quality on show throughout but the best moment of the match also lead to the solitary goal as Quaresma set up Eder to score. Both sets of players now head off on their summer holidays - with some no doubt in a better mood than others! I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!
