Again, it's Haber heading it directly at the Salvadoran GK.
86'
R. Renderos enters the game and replaces P. Punyed.
J. Osorio enters the game and replaces K. Bekker.
85'
Now Teibert unleashes a shot from 35 yards that nearly finds the upper left corner. That was a shot that was not lacking for power.
83'
R. Teibert enters the game and replaces S. Piette.
81'
Ricketts gets off an overhead kick that didn't have much power on it. It was another case of the Canadian attackers not getting enough behind their efforts.
76'
Haber gets a weak header on target after some good work in the corner from Bekker. More positive stuff from Canada, although the big striker needed to get more power on his effort.
73'
A. Flores enters the game and replaces J. Alas.
The game is getting a it more stretched now. It's unclear which side this benefits.
69'
M. Haber enters the game and replaces C. Larin.
66'
A big collision has left a player from each side down on the pitch. Ledgerwood and Punyed were both watching a high ball and they take each other out.
59'
Now Canada gets a decent shot from distance, this one through Straith. He latches onto a poor clearance and lashes a volley just over the bar.
Minute
Description
58'
El Salvador gets the first shot on goal of the half, with a strike from distance that requires a quick drop to the near post by Stamatopoulos.
56'
A. Larín gets yellow.
54'
Not much going on so far in this half. Much more of a middle third battle than at any point in the first half.
46'
And we're back!
45'
Crazy sequence in front of Canada's goal as El Salvador skips into the 6-yard box and somehow doesn't score. Bodies were flung about, but the ball stays out of the net. Unreal
44'
This is a big clash in styles. Canada's playing incredibly direct, trying to take advantage of its superiority in athleticism and physicality. The smaller Salvadorans are playing a more Latin style, trying to pass through and around the Canadians. They are neutralizing each other so far.
42'
N. Ledgerwood gets yellow.
36'
WHAT A MISS! Larin catches everyone off-guard and gets a 40-yard breakaway. He rounds the keeper and, while stumbling, skies his shot well over the wide open net. You would have bet the house on him scoring there.
35'
S. Piette gets yellow.
A rather harsh caution on Piette, whose sliding challenge didn't seem to make much contact.
27'
ANOTHER SAVE! Stamatopoulos is forced into another reaction stop after the Canadian back line turns the ball over. El Salvador is finding some space now.
26'
SAVE STAMTOPOULOS! A nice ball over the top finds Herrera, and the Salvadoran shakes Edgar to get a close-range shot on the Canadian keeper, but he stands tall to keep the game scoreless.
23'
Canada has gained the possession advantage over the past few minutes.
18'
De Jong draws a foul inside the Canadian area, much to the ire of SLV attacker Alvarez. It's the second time El Salvador has been called for an offensive foul inside the attacking area.
15'
El Salvador carves out a half chance as a cross is headed towards goal and Stamatopoulos is able to cover easily.
12'
Piette comes close after a Canadian free kick into the SLV area. The young midfielder crouches down to head home but his effort goes over the bar.
10'
I. Herrera enters the game and replaces N. Bonilla.
Another Salvadoran is on the pitch in considerable pain. Very choppy start here.
7'
A Salvadoran has been stretchered off. Wasn't much in the challenge, to my eye.
5'
Lots of fouls being called already. It'll be interesting to see Canada's physical style up against the cagey Central Americans, especially in a partisan StubHub Center.

And we're off!
Hello and welcome to Goal's LIVE commentary for El Salvador vs. Canada. I'm Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller) and I'll be guiding you through tonight's action.
This is the second match of the night in Group B. The opener was a 2-2 draw between Costa Rica and Jamaica.
With that in mind, a victory for either side will give the winning team an advantage after matchday one.
The FIFA rankings put El Salvador as the favourites for this one, but recent form and history are on Canada's side. It'll be interesting to see how these teams match up as they rarely face each other. Back in the 90s this was a heated rivalry, but the past couple of decades has seen very few meetings between the sides.
It's 0-0 at the half. Some entertaining stuff after a very choppy start to the match. El Salvador must be the happier of the two sides as it looked more likely to do any damage in that half. That being said, 'almost' doesn't count on the scoresheet.
As for the Canadians, they will need to make some adjustments if they want to stay in this game. However, they'd be up 1-0 if not for an unbelieveable miss by Cyle Larin.
And that's it! The game ends in a scoreless draw, which is probably a fair result as neither side looked too deserving of the three points. In truth, the second half was an incredibly ugly display of soccer, after a somewhat entertaining final part of the first half.
Regardless, the result means that all four Group B teams are sitting on a point after the first matchday. The teams now move on to Houston, Texas, for the next doubleheader in three days' time.
And with that, I'm out! Once again, I'm Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller on Twitter), and it was my pleasure bringing you tonight's action.
