Piszczek tries to thread Aubameyang in between the centre-backs with a diagonal pass, but it's intercepted. Final seconds here at Signal-Iduna park and we're moments away from the eruption.
89'
Schmelzer steams down the left and hooks a cross in for Kampl inside the six-yard area, but its ultimately too close to Sommer, who smothers it on his goal-line and cuts out the danger.
87'
Gundogan takes his time at the top of the box before deciding to work Sommer with a curling effort that he beats away. Dortmund can't profit from the rebound. Bender has also come on for Kagawa.
85'
S. Bender enters the game and replaces S. Kagawa.
Piszczek's cross is too far for the back-pedaling run of Aubameyang but, not for the first time, Gladbach's clearance stays in the zone of their 18-yard area. Weigl attacks the rebound, but he gets under it too much and skies it over the top of the crossbar.
83'
Weigl comes in with a crunching challenge on Dahoud, which he is perhaps lucky to escape from with just a lecture from the referee. He can afford a wry smile, and it looks like he's enjoying himself here!
81'
Ramos has a shooting opportunity with his first touch, but can't make it count as the whistle blows to chalk off his attempt anyway. He's another who could use some redemption this season.
79'
Mahmoud Dahoud enters the game and replaces G. Xhaka.
Reus and Aubameyang depart to a standing ovation as Kampl and Ramos take their place. Meanwhile, that booking was the last that we'll see of Xhaka, who makes way for Dahoud.
78'
A. Ramos enters the game and replaces P. Aubameyang.
K. Kampl enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
77'
G. Xhaka gets yellow.
Weigl takes his lumps from Xhaka after a poor challenge, which leads to a yellow card for the Swiss midfielder. Meanwhile, it looks like a few substitutions are set to take place.
75'
Dortmund will still be second in the table even if this score holds thanks to Bayern's 5-0 win over Hamburg yesterday. All they need is one more goal to match that, and that looks quite possible, even though they've taken their foot off the gas recently.
Minute
Description
73'
Why have Gladbach persisted with this high defensive line in the second half? Reus, Kagawa and Aubameyang all look capable of bursting through their ranks at will with the right through pass.
71'
Reus takes charge of a free-kick on the right at an angle. It's a little too acute for him to go for goal. In theory. The German fires it towards the far corner anyway, forcing Sommer to race out and punch clear.
69'
Shout out to the 19-year-old Weigl for an accomplished display as the holding midfidlder for Dortmund tonight, on his league debut for his new club too. He's been a great base for the hosts to set and reset attacks.
67'
Two subs almost one after the other from Favre, which come too late to chance much, if you ask me. Hazard and Hermann come on to bolster their attacking ranks, while Traore and Drmic depart.
66'
T. Hazard enters the game and replaces J. Drmić.
HOW HAS KAGAWA NOT MADE THAT FIVE? He starts a fantastic move with Aubameyang, and just when he races behind the defence to latch onto the Gabonese's return ball, he lashes the finish wide! It would have been easier to score, and the look on Tuchel's face tells you that!
65'
P. Herrmann enters the game and replaces I. Traoré.
64'
Mkhitaryan picks up possession down the left-hand side, and hooks a cross over the head of Wendt for Reus on the far side. Such is his confidence, that the forward cracks a volley first-time, but he skids it off the turf and in the complete opposite direction of Sommer's goal.
62'
Dortmund's turn to get back on the ball, and they're just toying with the opposition at the moment. The ease with which they recover the ball once a move breaks down has to be worrying for Favre.
60'
An hour gone here at Signal-Iduna Park, and it seems that Gladbach are discovering their poise again ever so slightly. They still look devoid of ideas in the final third though, with Dortmund defending comfortably.
58'
Raffael links with Traore to fashion a rare half-chance for the visitors, but his substandard first touch allows Hummels the opportunity to steal in for the interception. Corner to the guests, which comes to nothing in the end.
56'
Bayern laid down a marker yesterday with a 5-0 pasting of Hamburg, but Dortmund have matched that in every way but the scoreline - so far. It's going to be a long final 35 minutes or so for Die Fohlen.
54'
Gundogan simply waltzes through the defence with almost effortless ease. Favre should be furious at the lack of resistance from his troops. Since the second goal, they've rolled over and let Dortmund have their way.
52'
This crowd could not have witnessed a better start to the season, and they're showing their appreciation here. It's party time here for BVB, who are starting to play with real panache.
50'
H. Mkhitaryan has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Reus.
AAAAAAND IT'S FOUR! Reus makes inroads down the right-hand side, and takes his time to pick out Mkhitaryan, who has his second simple far-post finish of the match.
49'
You have to wonder what the Gladbach approach in this half will be. Push too far forward, and they open themselves up even more for the devastating counter attack, but do they really have a choice at this point?
47'
Barely a minute played in the second half and Reus is through after a breakdown from the defence! Thankfully for Gladbach, Reus was as surprised as anyone at that chance, and didn't gather himself in time to round the onrushing Sommer inside the box.
46'
Here we go again!
45'
And that's it without any stoppage time!
43'
Dortmund have taken their foot off the gas as they wind down to the half-time break. And just as I say that, Kagawa bursts into life and slingshots a fantastic pass to Schmelzer on the overlap, but his athletic attempt at a first touch ends up with him on his backside.
41'
Into the last minutes of an entertaining first half. Lovely ball from Kagawa to find Reus on the left-hand side, but his low cross is blocked by the defence before it can reach Aubameyang, who might have been offside anyway.
39'
Kagawa is harried off the ball out on the left flank, but Gladbach cannot regain possession and it bobbles through to Mkhitaryan at the top of the box. The Armenian hits it first time and it's rising, but ultimately it heads off target with Sommer a relieved man!
37'
This is the Dortmund from 2011-2014 that captivated the world. Remember, Gladbach are supposed to be one of the sure-fire challengers for a Champions League berth! They've been steamrolled here.
35'
OFF THE LINE! Kagawa takes a corner from the right that Hummels meets with a looping header, but Raffael is perfectly positioned on the post toe head away! Reus attacks the loose ball but he scoops it well over.
33'
H. Mkhitaryan has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by P. Aubameyang.
IT'S THREE! DORTMUND RUNNING RIOT! Aubameyang is released on the break and has half the pitch to run into. There's very few on the planet that can stop him in that type of flow. He has the step on the defender and only Sommer to beat, but he unselfishly squares to Mkhitaryan at the back post for the tap-in!
31'
Gladbach are struggling to squeeze anything out of Dortmund when they advance out of their own half. Dortmund's pressing is simply too much for the visitors to handle. Tuchel may be in, but some things never change.
29'
Aubameyang may get some criticism for lacking some finishing technique, but lest we forget, he top-scored for Die Schwarzgelben last year with 26 strikes. It looks like he's been trusted with the lead striker role full-time again this season. Can he step up another level?
27'
Kagawa turns playmaker again to release Reus once more, and the forward has too much pace for his former club to handle. He bears down on Sommer, but can't pick his target when the third goal looked there for the taking!
24'
Dortmund are going from strength to strength here, giving absolutely no quarter against Gladbach in the opening half. A third goal before half time could well put a result beyond Die Fohlen.
21'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Schmelzer.
ANOTHER ONE FOR BVB! Aubameyang snakes in to nod in a cross from Schmelzer, and Dortmund are rolling! Signal-Iduna Park is loving this from the home side.
18'
That goal has got the wind in Dortmund's sails now, and they're attacking with real gusto. Gladbach's early promise has disappeared, they're now forced back in their own half to defend.
15'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by S. Kagawa.
OPENER! Reus gets his 2015-16 season off to a cracking start with an emphatic finish that ripples the back of the net! Kagawa took a pass from Hummels to tee him up for that one. Dortmund lead!
13'
A lovely back-and-forth tempo developing to this one, as both sides are playing directly. Little time is being wasted on probing or waiting patiently for a crack in the door. These teams are trying to hammer it down!
11'
Gladbach are looking to bypass Dortmund's midfield entirely with direct, vertical passes, and they are succeeding in putting the defence under some pressure in the opening exchanges here.
9'
Signal-Iduna Park rises in appreciation of Schmelzer, who has slid in to deny Drmic a great shooting chance. Dortmund were opened up from left to centre, as Raffael's sweeping pass left the defence stranded and let the former Leverkusen striker in on Burki.
7'
OFFSIDE! GOAL RULED OUT. Mkhitaryan latches onto a splitting ball from Kagawa and curls a delightful finish past Sommer into the far side, but the flag is up on the near side. It turned out to be the right decision by the officials. Shame, as it really was a superb take from the Armenian.
5'
Early warning shots quite literally fired by Gladbach, as Jantschke plants a header over the top of the crossbar, moments before Xhaka bundles one off-target following a corner kick.
3'
Gladbach are attacking the famous Sudtribune end this evening, and to be fair, they've made a solid start to this contest. Both sides have maned midfield-heavy lineups, and the battle in the centre will be key.

Off we go!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Bundesliga opener between Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach! Both sides are expected to strike hard in the league this season, but do they have enough to mount a sustainable challenge to the might of Bayern Munich? I'm Keeghann Sinananm your guide for all the action from Signal-Iduna Park.
Thomas Tuchel's spell as the new Dortmund boss is well and truly underway now with his first Bundesliga outing overseeing the men in black and yellow. It will be strange not to see the effervescent Jurgen Klopp hopping around the touchline for Die Schwarzgelben, but having said that, BVB have a lot of room for improvement after last season's seventh-place finish. Even that was a solid recovery though, as Dortmund qualified for the Europa League under Klopp after being mired in the relegation zone at Christmas.
Lucien Favre has been putting together Wenger-like seasons with Gladbach for some time now, achieving regular European qualification. They finished third last season, earning a berth in the Champions League for 2015-16. It will be a tough ask for them, or anyone, to pip Bayern to the title this year, but Favre will surely want his side to separate themselves from the other 16 teams in the Bundesliga at least.
The last 14 games at this ground between these two sides has seen only one Gladbach victory, with Die Fohlen picking up only five points total during that span. Overall though, these sides are hard to separate. In 86 previous meetings, Dortmund and Gladbach have gained 29 games apiece, with the other 28 matches drawn. Will something give today? Or will we be set for an OCD-inducing 29-29-29 all-time record for these teams' head-to-head?
Roman Burki, newly signed from Freiburg, beats out his namesake Weidenfeller to a starting berth for this Bundesliga opener. Could this be a changing of the guard between the posts? After all, the latter is more than 10 years the former's senior. Julian Weigl also makes his league debut for his new club at the base of midfield. Otherwise, familiar faces abound in Tuchel's first Bundesliga XI for BVB.
Josip Drmic leads the line for the visitors for the first time in the Bundesliga, after his capture from Leverkusen last season. This is the fourth club that he's appeared for in the last two seasons. Granit Xhaka mans the middle of the park, with Raffael plugging the gab between the midfield and Drmic in his role as a second striker.
Forty-five captivating minutes from Dortmund. Tuchel could not have made a better start to his career as BVB boss, channeling their very best form under Klopp as his new club roar into a three-goal lead. Reus, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan were the scorers in a complete opening half from the home side. Is there any fight left in Gladbach? Stay tuned for the restart shortly.
And that will do it! A dominant Dortmund get their Bundesliga campaign off to a flying start with a four-goal win over Gladbach. Two for Mkhitaryan and goals also for Aubameyang and Reus did the damage. The Tuchel era is off to a fine beginning. Gladbach, meanwhile, will want to forget this quickly.
That's all from me, Keeghann Sinanan here signing off and wishing you all the best.
