H. Kane has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by É. Lamela.
THREE POINTS FOR TOTTENHAM! Wonderful finish from Harry Kane, who has had very little joy throughout the match. He gets on the end of a lightning counter, sparked by Eriksen, set up by Lamela and finished off by the striker.
90' +2
A. Hutton gets yellow.
Hutton goes into the book for a hearty challenge on Mason near the halfway line. Villa's fire appears to have been put out as Tottenham are doing a much better job now of seeing this out.
90'
Tottenham win a corner and keep the ball near the corner flag, providing a welcome breather for their defence as the board goes up to indicate four minutes of stoppage time.
89'
J. Onomah enters the game and replaces D. Alli.
Interesting switch here from Pochettino, who has always been one to show faith in his younger players. Josh Onomah is awarded his Premier League debut for these final minutes, with Alli the one giving way.
87'
Tottenham fans feeling very uneasy as their team is left frantically defending a one-goal lead. They rested on their morals for the entirety of this second half, never threatening to add to their lead, and this is what happens as a result. They need some fresh legs up top to help try and keep the ball.
85'
NOT FAR FROM AYEW! Villa being urged forward by their traveling supporters and they're inching closer and closer to an equaliser! Ayew cuts in from the left and tries his luck from range, lifting his strike agonisingly over the bar by the narrowest of margins!
83'
SHOULD BE LEVEL! Oh my word it's a shocking piece of goalkeeping from Lloris! With his former manager looking on, the keeper runs well off his line to try and claim a cross but gets nowhere near it! Gestede meets the delivery but somehow is unable to direct his header into the empty net!
82'
B. Davies enters the game and replaces D. Rose.
81'
Spurs being hemmed back in their own end as Villa look to complete the comeback. The hosts are down a man with Rose receiving treatment along the touchline. These are worrying moments for Pochettino's side, who looked very secure just five minutes ago!
Minute
Description
79'
J. Ayew has scored a goal for Aston Villa!
VILLA BACK IN IT NOW! Spurs have gone completely to sleep here and the visitors are given new life! Mason and Dier get in the way of each other atop the area, allowing Ayew to have a shot. His effort takes a deflection, leaving Lloris with no chance. Game on!
78'
OFF THE POST! A warning sign thrown at Spurs there as Bacuna is teed up by Ayew and tries to place a shot into the far corner from 25-yards out, but sees his curled effort rattle off the woodwork with Lloris beaten!
77'
Villa having a good go here, gathering themselves to make one last push towards salvaging some pride from the match. They're looking better in their buildup play, but there's no indication of where the goals will come from. It has and will continue to be a real issue for them this season, something Garde will have a difficult time addressing as it's more of a personnel issue than anything.
75'
STAT ATTACK: Aston Villa have just one point since opening day, a 2-2 draw with struggling Sunderland, losing each of their last six league matches.
73'
DEFLECTED OVER! Tottenham get a bit too casual at the back, perhaps lulled to sleep by the painfully slow tempo adopted by the match. Alderweireld gives the ball away to Gil who plays Gestede through, but the striker's control is poor and it allows Vertonghen to get the crucial touch, sending the shot behind for a corner.
71'
THAT'S WHAT HE CAN DO! A long way out for Eriksen as he stands over a free kick. He's earned the right to do what he wants from these and he goes for goal from this one. He couldn't have hit it much better, but the angle is just off as it drifts narrowly wide of the near post.
69'
R. Mason enters the game and replaces M. Dembélé.
A first change for Tottenham will see Dembele withdrawn for the final 20 minutes. He enjoyed a nice run out this evening and it's his goal that serves as the winner as things stand. Ryan Mason is on to replace him, only just back recently from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for a prolonged period.
67'
K. Richardson gets yellow.
Vertonghen and Alderweireld never look threatened in defence. Tottenham seem to finally have stumbled upon a partnership to roll out week in, week out and be confident in. The duo found their footing together with Ajax, alongside Eriksen as well, and Tottenham are reaping the rewards from the Dutch side who were crowned champions in consecutive seasons with the trio intact.
65'
Carles Gil enters the game and replaces J. Grealish.
Carles Gil, who certainly has a trick or two up his sleeve, comes on to replace the ineffective Grealish. We'll see if the Spaniard can have his say on proceedings as Villa look to cut the deficit in half.
63'
Tottenham hardly looking threatened as Villa are appearing quite futile in their attempts to mount a comeback. They're booting the ball forward without any ideas, hoping on a wing and a prayer that the likes of Ayew or Gestede will produce a moment of individual brilliance to pull Villa back into it, which is just as improbable as it sounds.
61'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham saw a 13-match unbeaten run over Aston Villa come to an end in April (W10, D3), when Christian Benteke’s goal earned the Midlands club a 1-0 victory.
59'
It can't be much longer now before Pochettino opts to make a few changes. They have an important Europa League test against Anderlecht here Thursday night before Sunday's clash with Arsenal which needs no hyping up. The manager may want to rest a few legs with his side comfortably quelling the Villa push.
57'
Villa are starting to find their rhythm and are enjoying the better of play over the last few minutes, though they are finding it very difficult to carve out a chance - something which has been a chronic issue for them at White Hart Lane in recent years.
55'
Richardson and Bacuna stand over a free kick on the right, 25 yards from the goal line. It is the Englishman who takes, but Tottenham are first to it. The clearance falls for Grealish atop the area, but his first-time effort strikes Gestede in the area as the chance goes begging!
53'
Tottenham on the front foot looking to put the game to bed. Dier gets up the pitch very well, finding the gap he's been looking for, but his final shot following a one-two with Lamela is turned aside smartly by Lescott.
51'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have kept clean sheets in three of their last four Premier League matches at White Hart Lane. They had three in their 16 previous in north London.
49'
Hardly a flattering start to the second half from either side. Quality is lacking in these early stages, while Villa try to adjust to a tweak in their setup. Grealish has moved into a wide position on the right while Ayew has taken up the number 10 position behind Gestede.
47'
Remi Garde has been brought on for the second half. Agbonlahor has just eight touches in the first half, but it is still surprising to see him withdrawn, when instead he needed a bit of support up top to help him get more involved. Now it will be Gestede stranded on an island.
46'
R. Gestede enters the game and replaces G. Agbonlahor.
Back underway at White Hart Lane!
45' +3
HALF TIME!
45' +1
D. Alli has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur!
TOTTENHAM DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! It's as opportunistic as it gets for Spurs who may have just put the game to bed at the stroke of half time! There's quite a bit of good fortune involved in the buildup as Lescott's clearance of Rose's cross falls perfectly for Alli who buries a composed finish into the bottom corner.
45'
With the injury to Westwood taking up quite some time, it has been indicated that we will have three minutes of stoppage time added on to the end of the first half.
44'
Clumsy defending! Nearly a catastrophic end to the half for Villa as Kane's header following a set piece strikes the arm of Lescott, though it was attached to his body and he had no time to react. Sanchez's attempted clearance then smacks off his own player and back towards goal before Hutton cleans up the mess.
42'
J. Ayew gets yellow.
Ayew already in trouble in Mike Dean's eyes as he struggles to get up to the pace of the match after coming on just minutes ago. He's caught in possession and a few moments later is late arriving at the feet of Vertonghen with a challenge, finding his name in the referee's book.
40'
STAT ATTACK: Aston Villa have lost 20 of their 29 Premier League fixtures since the start of 2015, the most of any club in the top flight.
38'
J. Ayew enters the game and replaces A. Westwood.
Westwood is unable to carry on and on comes Jordan Ayew to replace him. The Ghanaian attacker is fresh off scoring his first Premier League goal last weekend and will set up camp on the right wing, with Bacuna dropping into the now vacant position in the centre.
36'
This looks a bit of a bad injury for Westwood who takes some time to be helped off the pitch. With rules specifically put in place over the summer to give special attention to head injuries, it's a real puzzler as to how play was allowed to carry on there. The lengthy stoppage has done a great deal to quiet the crowd.
34'
Westwood takes a nasty blow to the face from the elbow of Dembele and goes down in a heap. Mike Dean seemed to have a clear view of it, but doesn't bring play to a halt despite pretty clear rules from the FA regarding head injuries. Tottenham also continue to play on, refusing to put the ball out of play! Clark finally intercepts a cross and puts it out of touch, before having a go at Dean.
32'
Aston Villa have done an excellent job of working themselves into the match after such a calamitous start. They've been spurned thus far, however, by the likes of Alderweireld and Vertonghen in defence. The ex-Ajax pairing have re-ignited their partnership this season in London and have become quite the formidable duo.
30'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have conceded just two goals in their last six matches against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane, scoring nine times themselves (W4, D1, L1).
28'
It's become a bit of a tense affair as the midfield third remains quite congested. The two creative catalysts, Eriksen and Grealish, are finding space hard to come by and it has hurt the flow of the match as a result. The lone chances in this half are coming via defensive miscues.
26'
NEARLY TWO! Straight from the training ground is the ensuing corner kick as Eriksen sends a pass in to pick out the run of Rose atop the area, but the left-back lifts his first-time effort onto the roof of the goal!
25'
CLOSE! Kane is played through into the left channel and he's able to cut easily onto his right as Clark slips in the area, but Hutton comes to the rescue as he slides in to deflect the striker's shot over the bar. It looks like Guzan got a slight touch on that as well.
23'
Villa aren't pressing high up the pitch as a cohesive unit, instead taking turns sending one player on a jaunt to chase the ball. As a result it's help make life very easy on Tottenham in possession, though they've still struggled to find the required creativity to add to their lead.
21'
Spurs have created precious little through the opening 20 minutes, yet find themselves in the lead. It was a good individual effort from Dembele - coupled with dreadful defending from Clark - that allowed Tottenham to take an early lead, but they've been unable to test Guzan or the Villa back line since.
19'
STAT ATTACK: If Aston Villa are unable to beat Tottenham it would ensure their worst start to a season in the top flight after 11 matches. They had seven points at the same juncture in 1919/20 (with points adjusted to current system).
17'
Inviting ball! Good movement shown by Villa on the counter and Hutton floats a teasing ball into the centre, where it bounces through the Tottenham defence and harmlessly behind. That is where the visitors will miss the presence of Rudy Gestede - on the bench to start this match.
15'
Guzan has to be on high alert as Lescott is a bit too relaxed in his own penalty area. The centre-half gives chase as a through ball is played in for Kane, but slows down as he expects his keeper to come out and claim - and it nearly proves a troubling decision.
13'
Better from Villa as they start to find their legs going forward. They boast plenty of pace in attack in the form of Agbonlahor, Sinclair and Bacuna, and are starting to use it as they run at this stingy Tottenham defence. The hosts have dropped off a bit since their high-flying start, just allowing Villa to grow into the game.
11'
Delightful from Sinclair! Dazzling footwork from the winger who makes a terrific run down the left and escapes both Walker and Alli en route to the top of the area. He cuts it onto his right and unleashes a bullet towards the near post - but Lloris is able to beat it away with strong hands.
9'
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have not lost in nine matches in the Premier League since falling to Manchester United on opening weekend, the longest current unbeaten run in the top flight (W4, D5).
7'
Tottenham completely in charge early on, dominating possession and parking themselves firmly in the Aston Villa half. This is a case of men against boys thus far and you wouldn't like to bet against Spurs from adding to their lead.
5'
This will be a huge test of Villa's resolve. With just one point from their last nine matches, how will they respond to falling behind this early, with their new manager watching on? They have to put it behind them and play with confidence, or this could turn into a long night for them.
3'
M. Dembélé has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by D. Rose.
DREAM START FOR TOTTENHAM! Ciaran Clark shakes in head in disgust as he's just simple over-powered by Mousa Dembele! The Belgian is able to bring down a simple pass, bully through his challenge into the area and beat Guzan from a tight angle! Nightmare opening for the Villans.

Underway at White Hart Lane!
Hello football fans around the world and welcome to north London! White Hart Lane is our venue this evening as Tottenham attempt to break into the top five when they play host to an Aston Villa side looking for a positive start to the post-Tim Sherwood era. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens.
Tim Sherwood may be watching on tonight from his living room, passionately sipping a cup of tea, but his influence on the match is not lost. Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish were both given their Premier League debuts under Sherwood and have gone on to become household names thanks to the fiery manager. He was a likeable character in the room and the gusto he brought was unrivaled, but there lacked finesse in his managerial style and it indeed proved to be his undoing.
Aston Villa appointed Frenchman Remi Garde as their new manager earlier today, but the former Lyon coach will not make his touchline debut today, saving it until Sunday’s home date with Manchester City. This is the first chance for the Villans to impress their new manager, and it’s a doozy at White Hart Lane under the bright lights, against a Tottenham side who are unbeaten since opening day. Speaking of Spurs, they’ve been consistent in improving under Mauricio Pochettino, but their real test comes next weekend in the West London derby – where the world will find out if they are viable top four contenders.
Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli and Heung-min Son remain sidelined, but there are no fresh injury concerns for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as he names an unchanged team following their 5-1 thrashing of Bournemouth last weekend. Harry Kane leads the lines and we will find out tonight if his hat-trick on the last time out was a result of his return to form or simply a product of weak opposition.
Micah Richards was handed a suspension just 90 minutes before kick-off for an incident in the tunnel following the team’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea last weekend. Joleon Lescott returns after missing the League Cup clash midweek through injury. It is a strange team put forth by the caretaker manager, however, who it can only be assumed is making a statement to the upper brass as he drops the entirety of their summer recruits from the starting lineup. Jordan Vertout, Jordan Ayew, Jordan Amavi and Rusy Gestede are kept on the bench, while Idrissa Gueye and Adama Traore are left out of the team altogether.
Remi Garde looks on from above as the players make their way out on the pitch. In what is a very one-sided matchup on paper, the bottom-table club have certainly stolen the headlines ahead of kick-off!
TOTTENHAM 2-0 ASTON VILLA. Goals at both ends of the first half from Dembele and Alli have Spurs comfortably in front at the break, as Remi Garde is issued a warning about the work his has cut out for him. To say it's an undeserved lead for Spurs would be harsh, but they have been largely underwhelming in possession while Villa had done so well to recover from their early error and keep the deficit at one.
TOTTENHAM 3-1 ASTON VILLA. Mousa Dembele put Spurs in front for good inside three minutes as they see aside the Villans with new manager Remi Garde watching on from the stands. Goals at both ends of the first half proved to be enough for Tottenham in the end, as they overcome a bit of an underwhelming performance to claim all three points to kick-start a massive week for them.
I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
