Into stoppage time we go and Shakhtar allow Malmo to play a bit of keep-ball in their half. The Ukrainian side know it's job done and they've done it in style.
89'
K. Árnason gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Yotun gets a shot away in a rare attacking foray from the visitors. It was a long way off target and pretty much summed up his side's night. And now Arnason sees red for an aerial clash in which he was adjudged to have used his elbow. From bad to worse for Malmo.
88'
O. Kucher gets yellow.
87'
Eduardo has been very lively since coming off the bench and draws a sharp save from Wiland after latching on to a quickly-taken free-kick. The visitors switched off there and again had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping the score down.
85'
Bengtsson could be forgiven for not being over-keen to come back on, but he has returned to the fray. He's had a very difficult night and looks drained, as do the rest of the Malmo side.
83'
Another Srna cross from the right causes mayhem in the Malmo box as two defenders collide trying to clear it and Eduardo takes a knock trying to get on the end of it. Bengtsson is the defender who receives some treatment. That was yet another let-off for the men in sky blue.
81'
Srna really is toying with Konate now. He's run the right-back ragged all night and is continuing to do so. It would be a real surprise if Shakhtar don't get a fifth goal here such is their dominance.
77'
Kovalenko has looked a handful already despite only coming on a moment or two ago. He almost linked up with Srna there, but the Malmo defence just managed to snuff out the danger.
75'
V. Kovalenko enters the game and replaces Bernard.
It's strictly damage limitation from here for the Swedish side. Their goal-difference has taken a battering and it could get even worse as Shakhtar continue to pile on the pressure.
74'
M. Eikrem enters the game and replaces N. Đurđić.
That really was a beautifully worked goal from the hosts who tore the Malmo defence apart. They thoroughly deserve their lead and Teixiera thoroughly deserved that goal. He's been a thorn in the visitors' side all night.
Minute
Description
73'
Alex Teixeira has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk!
4-0! Teixeira finds the net. Yet again, Srna got away down the right, squared across the box and after Wiland had blocked the initial shot from Taison, the Brazilian frontman nodded home the loose ball.
69'
Taison enters the game and replaces Fred.
Malmo just don't seem to have any answers this evening. They still haven't managed to exert any real pressure on the hosts and continue to look horribly brittle at the back. It's already been a long night for them.
68'
D. Srna gets yellow.
67'
Srna goes down under a challenge from Konate as he races into the box and it looks like a decent penalty shout. But the referee feels that it was a dive from the Croatian and shows him a yellow. Replays suggest the official may have got that right, but Lucescu is not happy on the bench.
65'
The crowd have been in good voice all night and are really enjoying seeing the home side turn on the style. This is the kind of dominant performance that they are used to seeing on a regualr basis in the Ukrainian Premier League. Shakhtar have won the last seven on the spin domestically.
63'
Bernard torments the Malmo defence again and makes space for a shot from just outside the box. He strikes it well, but it's straight at Wiland who parries it away. It's been a busy night for the visitors' goalkeeper, that's for sure.
61'
T. Stepanenko gets yellow.
Rosenberg scored the winner when the two sides met in Sweden last month and he's doing his best to haul Malmo back into this game, but he's receiving virtually no service whatsoever. He's really feeding on scraps.
59'
That dominance from the hosts is borne out in the game stats which show that they have had 19 attempts on goal so far tonight. And Teixeira adds another as he nods a cross from Rakitskiy straight at Wiland.
57'
Shakhtar really have been rampant going forward all night and you get the feeling that the scoreline could get even uglier for the Swedish side. Srna is running riot down the right, while Azevedo is doing likewise on the left.
55'
Eduardo da Silva has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk! Assist by Bernard.
3-0 Shakhtar! Substitute Eduardo looked slightly offside as he got his head onto a half-blocked shot from Bernard, but the goal stands. And that is surely game over in Lviv.
52'
The question now is whether Shakhtar push on or opt to sit on their two-goal advantage. Judging by the fact that they are continuing to pour men forward, it looks as though Lucescu is going for the latter.
50'
It looks a really long way back from here for Malmo who are on the brink of suffering their seventh defeat in their last eight Champions League outings.
48'
Penalty goal scored by D. Srna for Shakhtar Donetsk!
That looks unlikely now as Srna makes it 2-0 from the penalty spot.Yotun brought Teixeira to ground in the box and Srna calmly beat Wiland.
47'
K. Árnason gets yellow.
Y. Yotún gets yellow.
46'
Eduardo da Silva enters the game and replaces O. Hladkyi.
Y. Yotún enters the game and replaces J. Inge Berget.
The second half is underway.
Can Malmo force their way back into the contest having been totally outplayed in the first half?
Berget has made way for Yotun after a pretty ineffectual first half for Malmo.
And Shakhtar goalscorer Gladkiy has been replaced by Eduardo
45'
Into first -half stoppage time we go and Malmo have managed to force a couple of corners. Other than Djurdjic's early chance, it's the only time they have threatened the home goal.
44'
There's no keeping Teixeira out of the action as this time he fires over from ten yards out. He is tormenting the Malmo defence who really should have cut out the low cross before it reached the Brazilian.
43'
And normal service is then restored as Teixeira lets fly from just outside the box and misses the top corner by a matter of inches. He then follows that up with a looping header that Wiland has to punch over at the expense of a corner.
41'
Rodic has an opportunity to create something for the visitors with a free-kick from wide out on the left, but he can't beat the first man. That was a very rare attacking opportunity for Malmo and they wasted it.
39'
Now the in-form Teixeira flashes a shot wide from an almost impossible angle. Not sure why he didn't square that for a team-mate... another let-off for Malmo.
37'
This time a quickly-taken corner catches the visitors napping and they do well to scramble the ball away as Bernard looked set to pounce. Hareide will be very glad to get his side in at the break only one goal down.
35'
As it stands, Shakhtar are very much back in contention for a Europa League place and on this evidence, no-one would fancy playing them in that competition. Gladkiy again gets on the end of a cross, but his header is tame and straight at the goalkeeper.
33'
Rakitskiy sends a 25-yeard free-kick just over the bar, with the Malmo defence perhaps expecting Srna to have hit that one instead.
31'
Malmo will have to try and mount a response after that set-back, but Shakhtar continue to look the more likely.
29'
O. Hladkyi has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk!
Gladkiy scores! It's been coming all night. Azevedo whipped in the cross and although Wiland parried Gladkiy's initial header, the striker reacted quickly to bunlde home the loose ball.1-0 Shakhtar.
27'
Skipper Srna is the latest to draw a save from the overworked Wiland, striking that from just outside the box.
25'
Wiland's latest goal-kick goes straight out of play and that sums up Malmo's inability to maintain possession so far tonight. They keep inviting the hosts on and you feel a goal is inevitable.
23'
Bernard has the ball in the net but is rightly ruled off-side. Srna got away down the right to set up that chance, but the Brazilian was clearly off.
21'
It's all hands to the pump for the visitors until suddenly they break and Djurdic draws a save from Kanibolotskiy, diving away to his right.Almost a classic sucker punch from the visitors with what was their first meaningful attack of the night.
18'
Again it's a fine cross from Bernard, swung in from the left and Gladkiy heads over under pressure. Another decent chance there for Shakhtar.
15'
Having said all that, Wiland has not had to make a save since the very first minute, so Malmo coach Hareide will be reasonably satisfied with the way his side are holding their defensive shape.
12'
Rakip has come on in place of the luckless Lewicki, but Malmo remain very much under the pump. They can't get to grips with the movement of Bernard in particular.
11'
E. Rakip enters the game and replaces O. Lewicki.
It's Donetsk still applying the pressure and Malmo desperately trying to ride out the early storm. Azevedo is causing all sorts of problems down the left.
9'
It doesn't look good for Malmo midfielder Lewicki who has picked up an injury sliding in for a challenge with Stepanenko and has been stretchered off.
7'
Another near-miss for the home side as this time top scorer Alex Teixeira curls a shot narrowly over the bar from just outside the box.
4'
We expected a fast start from Shakhtar and that's exactly what we've seen so far. Azevedo is the next to threaten the Malmo goal, flashing a low cross right across the six-yard line.
2'
And so close to the perfect start for the hosts as Bernard is denied by Kanibolotskiy after springing the Malmo offside trap. The goalkeeper was off his line sharply to make a sprawling save.
1'
And we're underway in Lviv!
A very warm welcome to our live coverage of this evening’s UEFA Champions League Group A clash between Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo. I’m Gareth Morgan and I’ll be keeping you bang up to date with all the action as it unfolds at the Lviv Arena.
As expected, Real Madrid and PSG are leading the way in Group A, leaving Shakhtar and Malmo to battle it for third-place and the Europa League spot that goes with it. Malmo's Markus Rosenberg scored the only goal when the two sides met in Sweden last month, meaning that Shakhtar have to win tonight to keep their third-place hopes alive. And they certainly warmed up for the game in style, thumping Zorya 7-1 on Friday night to consolidate their position at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League. Malmo, in contrast, lost 2-0 at home to Norrkoping, the side who deposed them as Allsvenskan champions and had Rosenberg sent off after just five minutes.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu has called upon his Brazilian players to be at their creative best this evening, while his opposite number, Age Hareide, has admitted that a draw would suit his side very nicely indeed. So it may well be a case of Shakhtar looking to seize the initiative, while Malmo defend in numbers and seek to hit the hosts on the break.
There's the half-time whistle and Shakhtar take their 1-0 lead into the break. It really has been one-way traffic in Lviv so far and Malmo could easily be four or five down having been under the pump for the entire first 45 minutes. Teixeira could and should have had two or three himself and Wiland has made a string of vital saves for the visitors.
Time for a quick break and then we'll be back to see what unfolds in the second half of this Group A clash.Elsewhere in the group, Real Madrid are leading PSG 1-0.
And that's it, all over in Lviv and it has ended in a comprehensive 4-0 win for Shakhtar Donetsk over Malmo. Gladkiy, Srna, Teixeira and Eduardo all finding the net for the home side who dominated right from the outset.
That result has put Shakhtar right back in the race to secure third place in the group and the Europa League spot that goes with it. It will now boil down to how they and Malmo fare in their respective games against Real Madrid and PSG.
That's it from us tonight - hope you enjoyed the coverage. Thanks for your company.
