Schalke get the derby underway!
Hello and welcome to the live text commentary of this Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke. I'm Lucas Swain, and I'll be guiding you through all the action as it happens at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund enter this game in tremendous form having won their last six matches which has left the fans with a real buzz heading into this derby. However, with Reus out injured it's going to be interesting to see how the Yellow-blacks fare without such a key player.
Meanwhile, Breitenreiter's side head into this clash on almost the exact opposite form. Having gone winless in their last five matches, Schalke will be hoping the added drive of the derby can get them out this purple patch they find themselves in.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS
Tuchel has opted to go with four changes from the side that cruised to victory against Qarabag in midweek. With Reus injured, one of these were forced, but Burki, Kagawa, Gundogan and Sokratis find themselves back in the starting 11.
Breitenreiter has also gone for four changes from their Europa League clash on Thursday, with one being forced due to Geis serving a suspension. Meyer, Di Santo, Kolasinac and Matip make the starting 11.
Kick-off is just five minutes away! The fans are in the stands, the atmosphere is electric and the players are in the tunnel. Not long now.
Half time in the derby and Dortmund head into the break 2-1 up. Goals from Ginter and Kagawa were enough to cancel Huntelaar's equaliser but Breitenreiter may be looking for a bit more from his side going forward.
It's over! Dortmund win the derby in spectacular fashion and the fans are sent into raptures. A fantastic effort by Schalke, but ultimately the home side's quality proved too much and were the deserved winners.
Thanks for joining us for this Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke. I've been Lucas Swain, and it's goodbye from me until next time.
