The Bundesliga outfit are trying to put on all of the pressure since going behind.
6'
The away side immediately go on the offensive, looking for an immediate response. The hosts sit back in numbers, with only Mozolevski being required to venture over the half-way line for now. BATE will bide their time, before preying on a Leverkusen mistake to enable them to maraud their way upfield.
4'
The home fans are making lots of noise now, with Leverkusen suffering the nightmare start. Conceding inside a couple of minutes while on your travels in Europe, is by far the most awkward position to put yourself in. Schmidt has to mastermind a comeback already.

We are underway in the first half in Belarus! The hosts will be looking to take their domestic form into European competition, given that BATE have been dominating lately in league action. Leverkusen, meanwhile, have their sights fixed firmly on the knock-out stages.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from Eastern Europe, as the visitors attempt to edge their way into a qualifying position this evening. As it stands, the German club are one point off second-placed Roma, with the Giallorossi going up against Barcelona during the current matchday. Three points would mean that they would not only temporarily leapfrog Rudi Garcia's men, but also place huge pressure on their group-stage rivals. BATE can also jump above both aforementioned sides with a victory.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of one of tonight's early Champions League kick offs, as Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen travel to Belarus in order to face BATE Borisov. With Roger Schmidt's side able to get Mexico international striker Javier Hernandez firing in recent weeks, the hosts will need to recreate the performance which saw them defeat Roma 3-2 at the Borisov Arena during their Group E opening game.
TEAM NEWS: There are no real surprises among the back four for BATE, with the hosts' side essentially picking itself despite a couple of disappointing recent results in this competition. Aliaksandr Hleb is given a start in midfield at the expense of Nemanja Nikolic, while Alexei Rios is deployed out on the right-hand side. Dmitri Mozolevski should lead the line alone, with the energetic presence of Mikhail Gordeychuk attempting to support him from the opposite flank.
TEAM NEWS: Roger Schmidt opts to make one change from the side that defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 at the weekend, with Andre Ramalho replacing Omer Toprak. The Turkish defender doesn't make the squad, with otherwise no notable absentees. Kevin Kampl will be complimented by Christoph Kramer in midfield, with Hakan Calhanoglu playing in the number 10 role. Admir Mehmedi and Karim Bellarabi will provide pace and trickery out wide, with reputable poacher Chicharito starting through the middle.
HALF TIME! The hosts go in with a 1-0 lead at the break, given to them by a fortunate goal from Gordeychuk! The midfielder's tame effort trickled through Leno, with Leverkusen unable to respond with anything dangerous quite yet. Chernik has only had to make one notable save during the first period.
FULL TIME! Leverkusen can only fight their way to a point in Belarus, with Mehmedi's second-half strike cancelling out an early opener from Gordeychuk! Schmidt's side pressed desperately, but couldn't find the goal required to take them above Roma and into second place. That's all that we have time for from the Borisov Arena, I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time.
