Joaquim Adão enters the game and replaces V. Rüfli.
Hardly a point in this change other than to run more time off the clock, as Joaquim Adao replaces Rufli for the hosts.
90' +3
An injury sees the game delayed as the medical staff is still out on the pitch attending to Carlito.
90' +1
There will be three minutes added on at the end of the match, one of which has been milked off the clock already with Liverpool passing it around confidently at the halfway line.
90'
C. Brannagan enters the game and replaces Roberto Firmino.
Cameron Brannagan is handed a brief cameo here, with Firmino giving way.
88'
Absolutely no change in play over the last five minutes, or the entirety of the second half for that matter. This game is hardly going to go down as a classic, but it will be marked as job done for both teams at the end of the day.
86'
Liverpool continue to operate in possession but are taking no risks on this frigid night in Switzerland, as a slight mistake could allow Sion through to score a late winner and steal top spot in the group. The extra two points would do nothing for the Reds, so it is hardly worth the risk.
84'
To their credit, Liverpool have been significantly better on the night, dictating the tempo and looking to take the game to the hosts. Sion have never been short a body in defence, however, and it has served them well as barring a late miracle, they will be through to the Europa League knockout stage for a first time in club history.
82'
N. Clyne gets yellow.
Senseless and sloppy challenge from Clyne, who becomes the first Liverpool player booked on the night. He's been quiet tonight for the visitors.
81'
STAT: The Reds’ victory over Rubin Kazan in their last away game ended a run of six European fixtures without a win on the road (D2 L4).
Minute
Description
79'
Modou has been arguably the most prominent figure in attack for the hosts, which is really saying something considering he is supposed to be their left back. He's been consistent in getting forward on the overlap, while never negating his defensive responsibilities.
77'
J. Rossiter enters the game and replaces J. Henderson.
A second change for the visitors sees youngster Jordan Rossiter replace Jordan Henderson in midfield. Perhaps he can provide an injection of pace, with more to prove in the team than the already established Henderson.
75'
Down to 15 minutes left in this match and it doesn't appear as though Liverpool or Sion are willing to commit men forward in pursuit of a winner. The Swiss outfit could through caution to the wind if they know Rubin will falter in France, but the Russian side have pulled level again so that result is still up in the air.
73'
G. Mujangi Bia enters the game and replaces E. Assifuah.
Geoffrey Mujangi Bia, who had two stints in English football with Wolves and Watford, is the first substitute off the bench for the hosts as he comes on to replace Assifuah for the final 27 minutes.
71'
GOOD GOALKEEPING! Can plays a probing ball through the heart of the Sion defence, which Coutinho flicks through for Origi. The striker tries to round the keeper, but Vanins does well not to commit himself, staying with the striker and sticking a hand in to break up the chance!
69'
Approaching the final 20 minutes now and as things stand, Liverpool will be heading through as group winners, while Sion would be following them into the knockout stages. It would take three goals right now for the Swiss outfit to be eliminated - one from Liverpool and two from Rubin.
67'
Liverpool are dominating possession, but the majority of it is coming at the back. They have firmly planted themselves near the halfway line and are showing little intent or willingness to push forward and find a goal. This is some tedious viewing in Switzerland.
65'
Sion win a corner through Assifuah, who has had little joy in attack up to this point. Again the set piece comes to nothing for the hosts, but they have more reason to celebrate as Bordeax have completed the turnaround and now lead Rubin 2-1 in France!
63'
STAT: Liverpool have been victorious in just one of their last seven clashes with Swiss opposition in European competition, though five of those have been draws (L1).
61'
Philippe Coutinho enters the game and replaces J. Milner.
Positive change from Klopp who opts to give Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho a 30 minute jaunt in this match, with Milner the one to give way. Can the ex-Inter midfielder provide the difference?
60'
There has been another goal in the other Group B match in Bordeaux, and it is the hosts who have scored it, which will come as a relief to Sion. The Swiss outfit would be through regardless of what they do, provided Rubin fail to win in France.
58'
Both teams are keeping so many bodies behind the ball and you do get the sense that a scoreless draw is imminent. That is not to accuse these sides of playing for the tie, but they certainly aren't willing to take the necessary risks going forward to navigate the breakthrough.
56'
WELL-WORKED! Straight from the training ground, that, from Sion. They win a free kick on the left and Carliton shows a bit of invention, rolling a pass along the near side to play Ziegler through along the edge of the area, but his subsequent cross is dealt with by the visitors.
54'
STAT: FC Sion’s three games against English sides in Europe have all been against Liverpool – they’ve yet to beat the Reds (D1 L2).
52'
X. Kouassi gets yellow.
The Sion players and fans alike don't like this decision from the referee as Kouassi arrives late to take out Lallana and is promptly booked as a result. He will be suspended for the next match as a result.
50'
Liverpool have started the second half positively and appear to be inching closer to a breakthrough. Of course with Rubin leading in the group's other match, defeat for Sion would see them exit the competition provided the Russian outfit can hold onto their lead.
48'
CLOSE! Well-worked attack from Liverpool as Origi runs towards the byline along the edge of the area. He tries to cross a ball in to an unmarked Firmino at the far post, but Milner is unable to get out of the way as his weak touch of the ball runs safely into the arms of Vanins.
46'
Back underway in Switzerland!
45' +1
HALF TIME: SION 0-0 LIVERPOOL.
44'
Smith has to be careful. He's committed three fouls in as many minutes and isn't scared in voicing his opinion to the Greek referee. Sion protest following the latest challenge, but again the left-back is able to avoid a booking. One more of those and he will see yellow.
42'
Liverpool's best attacks have been waged down the right, with Smith and Milner looking especially lively. They are really starting to look strong in possession and are threatening to snatch an opening goal before the interval, which isn't far away now.
40'
Assifuah with a senseless challenge in the air, but he escapes a second yellow. He's treading on thin ice now. Liverpool retaliate through Smith, who clatters hard into Carlitos, showing little intent on going for the ball, and that prompts a coming together. Tensions starting to rise as we approach the interval.
38'
STAT: Liverpool's last trip to Switzerland ended in defeat (to FC Basel in the Champions League last season), but they were unbeaten in four trips prior (W3, D1).
36'
Liverpool have Can back out on the pitch, a very encouraging sign for Jurgen Klopp. The Reds are starting to dominate the midfield battle with Henderson growing in stature, but they are finding it difficult to navigate their way through the mess of red shirts in defence.
34'
E. Assifuah gets yellow.
Wonderful work from Assifuah to sprint past Lovren and earn the beating of the defender. He continues forward, but Can shows impressive pace to interject, before being clipped to ground dangerously by the striker who picks up the first booking of the match in the process.
33'
Rubin Kazan have taken the lead over Bordeaux in the other Group B match, just past the half-hour mark. That isn't good news for Sion, as they would require a draw from this match should that result hold.
31'
LOVELY BREAK! Liverpool attack with pace through Lallana, who pinches a terrific ball through for Origi. The striker has only Ziegler to beat, and appears to have the better of the defender, but Lacroix is able to scramble across and produce a last-ditch challenge to dispossess the Belgian.
29'
NEARLY THROUGH! More great running from Fernandes to break into the final third before finding Rufli. The winger tries to play a quick return pass to send the midfielder through, but it just lacks the pace needed as Liverpool are able to get bodies back and sniff out the chance.
27'
STAT: The Swiss side are unbeaten in their last four European home matches, excluding qualifiers (W2 D2).
25'
Liverpool are having to slow the tempo a great deal to move past this period of pressure. They can sense the confidence building in the hosts and are doing their best now to try and curb any hopes of ascendency that Sion may have.
23'
Sion have upped the tempo and are enjoying their best period of the match at the moment. They are spending plenty of time on the front foot, but a certain lack of quality has prevented them from forcing Mignolet into action.
21'
SELFISH FROM FERNANDES! Poor defending from Toure who is turned around far too easily by Fernandes. The midfielder makes an enticing run and has options to either side for a pass, but opts to go for goal himself, dragging a shot well-wide of the near post.
19'
STINGING DRIVE! Origi tests his luck from distance and gets great top-spin behind his strike to force Vanins into a diving stop. The Belgian certainly isn't lacking in confidence. That was all made possible, however, by the impressive run from Lallana in the buildup.
17'
STAT: Jurgen Klopp has lost just three of his 13 matches in the Europa League/UEFA Cup (W5 D5).
15'
Sion win themselves their first corner of the match courtesy of some panicked defending from Toure. Liverpool are quite convincing in clearing their lines, however. The hosts have posed next to no threat through the first quarter-of-an-hour.
13'
Smith has been a real bright spot for the Reds. He has shown no hesitancy to gallop forward from left-back and lend a hand in attack, carving out their best two chances of the match to date.
11'
There is very little tempo to the match, with the ball largely being contained in the midfield third. Sion appear quite content on sitting back and frustrating Liverpool in possession, knowing a draw is enough to take them through to the knockout stage.
9'
Sion have begun to settle in a bit and enjoy a prolonged spell in possession. Modou is providing some good width on the left on the overlap, but the hosts are lacking options in attack as they remain reluctant to commit men forward - and for obvious reasons.
7'
STAT: Five of Sion’s last six competitive matches have seen fewer than three goals scored, while just one of Liverpool’s last seven Europa League fixtures have seen more than two goals.
5'
HAD TO BE IN! What a terrific run and cross from Brad Smith, delivering the ball on a platter for Origi at the far post. The forward opts to stick out a leg as opposed to diving in with his head, and as a result he actually knocks the ball away from the gaping goal!
3'
Liverpool start on the front foot, in their all-black away strip. They park themselves firmly in the Sion end, but the hosts remain organised and do just enough to deal with the early threat. A point satisfies both teams' needs this evening so it will be interesting to see how this game plays out.

Underway in Switzerland!
Hello Europa League fans around the world and welcome to our live coverage of Sion and Liverpool from the Stade de Tourbillon, for what promises to be a dramatic conclusion to the group stage. The Reds need just a point to wrap up top spot in Group B, although they have already confirmed their place in the knockout phase. This match will provide Jurgen Klopp the opportunity to rotate some fresh faces into his side and rest many of their first-team regulars ahead of a busy Christmas period.
Sion also need just a point from the match today to secure their participation in the knockout stage for the first time in the competition we have come to know as the Europa League. The Swiss outfit could also still advance with a defeat. The only way their European journey would end today is if they lose and Rubin Kazan were able to claim all three points against Bordeaux in France. Any other set of results and Didier Tholot’s side are through to the round of 32.
Jurgen Klopp has made a wealth of changes to his team following their defeat at St. James' Park on Sunday, with Kolo Toure, Brad Smith, Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi brought into the starting lineup at the expense of Martin Skrtel, Alberto Moreno, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen, Jordon Ibe and Christian Benteke.
The hosts are without physical midfielder Birama Ndoye, who picked up a red card against Rubin Kazan. He is replaced by Vero Salatic. Just one other change has been made to their team following a defeat at Zurich on the weekend, with defender Reto Ziegler coming into the team at the expense of attacker Geoffrey Mujangi Bia.
A point serves its purpose for both these teams and a draw appears to be what we are headed for after 45 minutes. Liverpool have come closest to scoring, both times through Origi, but for the most part chances have been few and far between in what proved to be an uneventful first half in Switzerland.
The Reds secure top spot in Group B, while the point also ensures the Swiss outfit follow them through to the knockout stage. Sion celebrate collectively as the final whistle sounds and you can see just what this point means to them!
That's all for our coverage from Switzerland. Good bye!
