PSV patiently pass the ball around inside the Atletico half of the pitch before sending it out to Lestienne on the right wing. The Belgian doesn't immediately head to the corner but instead tries to find a way past Luis, but he's unable to do so before the referee brings an end to the game with a final blow of his whistle.
90' +2
Plenty of Atletico bodies swarm into the PSV half of the pitch as they try to carve out a late chance on goal. Fernando Torres initially does well to get forward and weave past two players before trying to tee up Correa, but his attempted pass is poor and rolls harmlessly out of play for a goal-kick. That could prove to be their final opportunity to score.

88'
Chance for Lestienne! Hendrix breaks down the left flank and takes advantage of the space left behind by Juanfran, who is caught up the other end of the pitch. The midfielder then launches a lovely cross over to the far post, where it finds the Belgian substitute, but he ends up firing his first-time volley over the top of the crossbar by several yards.

PSV have made their final alteration of the game, with Lestienne coming on to take the place of Locadia.

82'
Atletico continue piling forward as they try to find what would surely be a late winner, but PSV have every available player camped behind the ball. The visitors move it around well before Correa heads towards the byline, but his attempted chipped cross is mishit and ends up flying out of play for a goal-kick.
80'
Hendrix is muscled off the ball by Correa, who then pokes a pass into the feet of Fernando Torres. The striker controls it well and spins before unleashing a thumping strike from the edge of the penalty area, but Bruma sticks out a foot to send the effort looping over the top of the crossbar.
79'
An Atletico attack breaks down, allowing PSV to push forward on a rare foray into the visitors' half of the pitch. Willems darts down the left wing before trying to send a cross over to the far post, but it's completely mishit and flies comfortably out of play for a goal-kick.

73'
Atletico quickly move the ball around inside the PSV half of the pitch, but they just can't seem to find a way through the hosts' compact back line. Luis is eventually able to swing in a cross after receiving the ball on the left wing, but it's sent straight into the hands of Zoet in the middle of the box.
72'
As expected, it's all Atletico at the moment as they try to make their numerical advantage count, but PSV now have every available body camped deep inside their own half of the pitch as they look to keep the determined visitors at bay.
70'
Chance for Fernando Torres! Juanfran breaks down the right flank and swings a great low cross into the middle of the box. It finds the substitute striker, who charges on to the ball well but can only send his half-volleyed strike flying several yards over the top of the crossbar.
68'
G. Pereiro gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD! PSV are down to 10 men! Pereiro, who had been warned about his behaviour by the referee just five minutes ago, flies into Godin and catches the defender in the side of the face with his elbow, leaving the man in charge no choice but to show him a second yellow card. Atletico have been handed a huge boost, but can they make it count?
66'
PSV have made their first change of the evening, with Narsingh making way for Isimat-Mirin.
65'
N. Isimat-Mirin enters the game and replaces L. Narsingh.

62'
Godin scores, but it's ruled out! Atletico win themselves a corner on the right wing, which is flung into the heart of the PSV penalty area. The centre-back rises high and meets the ball before nodding it into the bottom left-hand corner of the net, but the referee immediately awards a free-kick to the hosts after judging that the defender had been claiming on the back of Moreno.
61'
Fernando Torres enters the game and replaces L. Vietto.
Atletico have decided to make their first substitution of the game, wit Vietto making way for Fernando Torres.
59'
PSV are unable to fully clear the ball after Vietto tries to fly down the right flank, and it allows Oliver to win possession just outside of the hosts' penalty area. He immediately tries to pick out the aforementioned Argentine with a deft through-ball, but Locadia is there to cut out the danger at the vital moment.
57'
Almost an own-goal by Koke! Pereiro picks up the ball near the halfway line and breaks forward quickly before finding Willems. The full-back charges down the left flank before trying to pick out Locadia with a low cross that's cut out by the aforementioned Atletico midfielder, but his attempted clearance ends up flying just a yard or so wide of the near post after beating Oblak.
55'
Atletico are pushing forward with far more urgency than they were in the first half, and as a result it's now they who are on the front foot. Ball after ball is being flung forward as they try to find a way through PSV's back line, but so far the hosts are managing to hold on and defend well.
54'
G. Pereiro gets yellow.
53'
Luis is cynically pulled to the ground by Pereiro as the Brazilian tries to break down the left wing, resulting in a free-kick for Atletico 40 yards away from the PSV goal. Koke whips a curling cross into the box but it's poorly hit and sails straight into the hands of Zoet.
51'
Juanfran holds up the ball deep down the right wing before teeing up Oliver with a beautiful through-ball. The youngster then curls a first-time cross towards the edge of the six-yard box, where Vietto is waiting in a good position, but Guardado does wonderfully well to cut out the danger with a vital interception.
49'
Willems' cross from the set-piece is curled into the heart of the penalty area, where there are a plethora of PSV players waiting, but Savic does well to rise high and head the ball away from danger before it can find any of them.
48'
PSV embark on a good start to the second half as they quickly move the ball around deep inside the Atletico half of the pitch. Narsingh battles with Godin down the right flank and is eventually dragged to the ground by the Uruguayan, resulting in a free-kick for the hosts in a dangerous position.
46'
And we're underway once again!
45' +1
It just isn't quite working for Atletico at the moment. Once again, they are presented with a good opportunity to break forward quickly after good play by Luis down the left wing, but Gabi's attempted through-ball towards Griezmann is poor and rolls out of for a goal-kick.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44'
Saul charges down the right flank and picks up the ball near to the byline before earning his side a corner. 42'

The Dutchman charges forward and meets the ball before being put under pressure by Juanfran, who forces the midfielder into firing his cross out of play for a goal-kick.
40'
Atletico lose the ball in the middle of the pitch, allowing PSV to break away on a rare counter-attack. Arias charges down the right flank before trying to tee up Pereiro with a swinging cross into the penalty area, but it's sent too near to Oblak and the goalkeeper is easily able to cut out the danger as a result.
38'
After spending the past five minutes sitting deep and containing PSV, Atletico are finally able to push forward on another well-worked attacking move, this time down the right wing. Juanfran initially gets forward well before trying to tee up Oliver with a poked pass, but it's poorly hit by the full-back and rolls harmlessly out of play for a goal-kick.
36'
This is proving to be an excellent defensive performance by Atletico, but PSV aren't doing themselves any favours with their sluggish play inside the visitors' half of the pitch. Every time they get forward they are failing to hit their opponents quick enough, forcing them into spinning round and heading back to the halfway line.
34'
A curling cross from Willems fails to find Pereiro, but Savic's blasted clearance ends up falling at the feet of Guardado. The Mexican quickly moves the ball over to Van Ginkel, who, in a pocket of space 30 yards away from goal, decides to unleash a low strike that ends up sailing comfortably wide of the near post.
32'
And now Propper goes close! The midfielder muscles his way through the Atletico midfild before penetrating the Atletico box, where he plays a quick one-two with Pereiro. With the ball at his feet just a few yards away from the goal, he unleashes a thumping shot, but it's straight at Oblak and ends up bouncing off the chest of the goalkeeper and out of the penalty area.
30'
Excellent save by Zoet! The PSV defence are completely taken by surprise by Griezmann, who darts through the back line to latch on to a lovely through-ball from Koke. The Frenchman then flies into the penalty area before going one-on-one with the Dutch goalkeeper, who rushes out and smothers the danger with a brilliant one-handed stop.
28'
Once again, PSV push plenty of bodies forward as they try to find a way through Atletico's resolute and well-organised back line, but the visitors come out on top and force the hosts into working the ball all the way back into their own half of the pitch.
26'
Atletico move the ball around quickly deep inside the PSV half of the pitch before it reaches Vietto on the edge of the penalty area. The Argentine spins and quickly tees up Griezmann, who then tries to pass it on to Luis, who had made a good run forward, but Arias is there to cut out the danger before the ball can find the feet of the Brazilian.
24'
Bar a few dangerous long passes, Atletico have found it difficult to test the PSV back line, who, as a result, have had a relatively comfortable opening 24 minutes. At the other end, however, the visitors are defending resolutely, as the hosts have been bossing possession but time and time again are failing to make it count when inside the final third of the pitch.
22'
S. Savić gets yellow.
An Atletico attack breaks down on the right wing, and PSV immediately break away on a quick counter-attack through Locadia. The Dutchman flies forward and penetrates the visitors' half of the pitch before being dispossessed by Savic, but, despite replays showing that the Montenegrin made contact with the ball, the referee awards a free-kick to the hosts and shows the centre-back a yellow card.
21'
Almost an opportunity for Narsingh! PSV try to take a leaf out of Atletico's book by firing a long pass up towards the visitors' penalty area, where the Dutch winger is waiting patiently, but he's beaten to the ball by Luis, who then does well to spin quickly before kick-starting a counter-attack.
19'
Chance for Koke! As was the case at the start of the game, the PSV defence are still struggling to deal with lofted passes forward. This time it's Juanfran who knocks a beauty of a ball straight into the path of the aforementioned midfielder, but his attempted chipped shot from the edge of the penalty area is well saved by Zoet in the middle of the goal.
17'
Juanfran flies down the right wing on a marauding run and cuts inside before sending a curling cross over towards the far post, but it fails to find the head of Vietto, who doesn't get up high enough in time and is beaten to the ball by Arias.
15'
A half-hearted Atletico attack breaks down near to the halfway line, allowing PSV the opportunity to try and hit the visitors on the counter. They swarm into the Spanish side's half of the pitch before Van Ginkel knocks a lofted pass into the box, but Pereiro's attempted header towards goal lacks the power needed to beat Oblak and, as a result, it's easily stopped by the Slovenian.
13'
Propper muscles his way down the right wing before seemingly doing well to knock the ball off Luis and out for a corner, but the referee instead awards a goal-kick to Atletico, much to the annoyance of the midfielder and the rest of his teammates. PSV have started the game in good fashion and are doing well to keep their opponents largely camped inside their own half of the pitch.
11'
Atletico embark on a good attacking move down the right wing, with Koke and Juanfran linking up well. The latter beats Locadia far too easily before trying to penetrate the PSV penalty area, but his final touch is too heavy and, as a result, he's easily dispossessed by Willems before he can do so.
9'
PSV win the ball back quickly, and a lofted pass is immediately flung up towards the edge of the penalty area, where it finds Locadia. The Dutchman chests it down before seemingly being fouled by what looked like a push from Godin, but the referee ignores the shouts for a penalty and quickly waves play on.
8'
PSV patiently pass the ball around as they attempt to find a way through the sea of Atletico players camped in front of them. They initially do well to get down the right flank but are quickly out-numbered, resulting in the visitors winning back possession deep inside their own half of the pitch.
6'
After receiving medical attention for a few moments, Zoet is able to return to his feet and play resumes once again, but an in-swinging corner from the left flank fails to trouble the hosts' defence and, as a result, it's easily dealt with by PSV.
5'
There's some concern for Zoet, who looks to have picked up a slight injury after clashing with Vietto in the build-up to the striker's chance on goal. He seemed to fall awkwardly whilst diving at the Argentine's feet, and as a result he looks to be in some pain.
4'
Off the line! Once again, the PSV defence are caught out by a long ball forward, and this time it's from an excellent pass by Gabi. It flies almost 50 yards down the pitch before finding Vietto, who brings it down well before dinking a shot over the body of Zoet. The Argentine's strike looks set to bounce into the back of the net, but Bruma is just about to hack it away with a vital clearance at the last moment.
3'
After an even start to the game by both sides, Juanfran picks up the ball near to the halfway line and immediately launches a lofted pass over to the top of the PSV defence and into the path of Griezmann. The Frenchman meets it well but his chest down is poor and sends the ball bouncing into the hands of Zoet.
1'
And we're off! PSV get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Champions League last-16 first-leg tie between PSV and Atletico Madrid at the Philips Stadion.
Tonight’s fascinating clash is almost certain to be one of the round’s most overlooked, but it nonetheless has the capability to be one of the most hard-fought and exciting. Atletico head to the Netherlands as clear favourites to ease their way into the quarter-finals after enjoying a thoroughly impressive group stage campaign that saw them top Group C with 13 points. With one of Europe’s most solid defences (they have managed to keep clean sheets in 11 of their last 15 Champions League games) and an extremely hard-working midfield, Los Colchoneros will be full of confidence about their chances of making it past the round of 16 for the third season in a row.
PSV XI (4-5-1): Zoet; Arias, Bruma, Moreno, Willems; Narsingh, Van Ginkel, Propper, Guardado, Locadia; Pereiro.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Atletico Madrid substitutes: Moya, Gamez, Gimenez, Kranevitter, Fernandez, Correa, Fernando Torres.
Atletico Madrid XI (4-4-2): Oblak; Juanfran, Savic, Godin, Luis; Koke, Gabi, Saul, Oliver; Griezmann, Vietto.
Meanwhile, Atletico boss Diego Simeone has also decided to made two alterations to the side that featured in last weekend’s goalless draw at home to Villarreal, with Angel Correa and Fernando Torres making way for Oliver Torres and Luciano Vietto, respectively.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
Phillip Cocu has decided to make just two changes to the PSV side that beat Heracles 2-0 on Saturday, with Luciano Narsingh and Andres Guardado (who returns after a month out injured) coming into the starting line-up to replace Jorrit Hendrix and top goalscorer Luuk De Jong, the latter of whom is suspended.
PSV stunned everyone (most notably Manchester United) by fighting their way to a second-place finish in Group B, and as a result tonight marks their first appearance in the knockout stages of the Champions League in nine years. As such, they are clearly the underdogs this evening but could prove to be a tough opponent for the 2014 runners-up. The reigning Eredivisie champions have lost just one of their last 21 competitive encounters, and in the past month they have scored a whopping 19 goals in just seven games. Phillip Cocu’s hard-working side are also unbeaten in the league since September, whilst their home record is just as impressive - the Boeren won all three of their group stage games at the Philips Stadion, whilst a cup defeat against Utretcht three weeks ago was the first time that they had lost in front of their home fans in almost exactly a year.
HALF-TIME: PSV 0-0 ATLETICO MADRID
As expected, it's been a largely cagey affair thus far, with neither side willing to push too many bodies forward in search of that all important first goal. PSV have enjoyed the vast majority of possession but have struggled to do much with it, with Propper coming the closest with his close-range chance on the half-hour mark. At the other end of the pitch, Griezmann was presented with an excellent opportunity to score only to chip his strike straight into the hand of Zoet, and since then the visitors haven't looked at all sharp enough when breaking into the final third of the pitch.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: PSV 0-0 ATLETICO MADRID
Cheers ring around the stadium as the players make their way off the pitch, and the celebrations are most certainly coming from the home fans. Under the circumstances, that is a great result for PSV, who had their backs against the wall for most of the second half due to Pereiro's clumsy sending off. However, Atletico really should have done better with the chances that they were presented with late on, but it never quite seemed to work for the visitors, who were lacking fluidity in the final third of the pitch.
