Three minutes of added time is the order of the day which is fairly generous from the referee. Gent actually have Wolfsburg pressed into their own half in the latter stages of the game, but it doesn't look like the hosts are going to surrender an away goal before the official ends play with the final whistle.
89'
M. Schäfer enters the game and replaces A. Schürrle.
Last substitution from Hecking now and it is the match winner on the night, Andre Schurrle, who makes his way off the pitch to the adulation of the home fans. His replacement for the last couple of minutes of play will be Marcel Schafer, who comes on for a cameo.
87'
Like the first half, the game has been relatively free flowing since the break, so it doesn't seem like Gent are going to have to suffer through much stoppage time before heading home to Belgium. They certainly haven't disgraced themselves, even when it looked like they might after going 3-0 down in the first leg!
85'
The nerves may have rested after Wolfsburg took the lead, but it hasn't exactly spread throughout the entire team so far as Casteels nearly gives Gent a consolation by fumbling a cross into the box with Coulibaly sniffing around. Luckily for the goalkeeper, Dante is there to marshal possession back into his hands.
83'
Vieirinha enters the game and replaces M. Arnold.
Second change from Hecking now and it is Max Arnold who is given a rest for the last few minutes of play. Another winger is introduced into the action in the form of Vierinha, who like Caligiuri, will likely prosper in the space being awarded in defence by Gent now. Still time for another goal here.
81'
Just under 10 minutes remaining in this last-16 clash now and Gent have pretty much wanted to hear the final whistle since that Schurrle goal went in. Even before Wolfsburg went ahead, it was an uphill task for the visitors, but the further disadvantage has completely killed their morale out there - and it really shouldn't, as they have been a revelation in the competition this year.
79'
Wolfsburg follow suit and make their opening change of the match, which sees Draxler leave the pitch to a warm ovation from the Volkswagen Arena faithful due to his role in the opening goal. Coming on is Daniel Caligiuri, who can certainly open up his stride with some runs down the right, as space is beginning to open up for the Bundesliga outfit.
78'
D. Caligiuri enters the game and replaces J. Draxler.
T. Foket enters the game and replaces Rafinha.
Another throw of the dice from Gent here as Thomas Foket is introduced into the action in place of Rafinha, who was at fault for the goal a few moments ago after losing the run of Schurrle. Their Champions League journey will soon be over, barring a minor miracle.
76'
Well, that goal all but seals the fate of Gent here, who have just not showed enough attacking ambition on the night to get the two goals required to progress. Wolfsburg have sat back and bided their time, fully knowing their first-leg advantage has been intact for the majority of the game.
75'
Fantastic work from Draxler as he hits the byline following a lovely run before teeing up Schurrle!
GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLL FOR WOLFSBURG! THE HOSTS BREAK THE DEADLOCK! Draxler collects possession down the right and fakes to cross inside before leaving Asare for dead with a pacey dribble and reversing a perfect cross into the danger area. Schurrle is on hand to smash into the empty net after getting ahead of his marker! One-nil!
Minute
Description
74'
A. Schürrle has scored a goal for Wolfsburg! Assist by J. Draxler.
73'
Some good work down the left wing from Kruse as he attempts to stretch this sturdy Gent defence. Initially, the Wolfsburg attacker drifts away from his centre forward position before taking on Rafinha at right-back but the subsequent cross to the back post is easily collected by Sels. The hosts just don't have much physical presence inside the box to feet off deliveries like that!
71'
How much time on the ball do you want, Andre Schurrle?! Wolfsburg move forward with a sweeping counterattack with Guilavogui leading the charge with a typically powerful run through the middle. He eventually finds the German on the right channel inside the box, but he takes an age to get the ball out of his feet to get the shot away, which allows Gershon to come in and make the vital interception!
70'
K. Coulibaly enters the game and replaces M. Simon.
69'
Another change in quick succession from the Belgian outfit here and it is one of their heroes from the first leg, Kalifa Coulibaly, who enters the action. However, the Gent fans can't be happy as it is actually Moses Simon making way, who has arguably been the best attacking player on the pitch for an hour or so of the game!
68'
K. Saief enters the game and replaces T. Matton.
67'
First change of the match from the visitors and it sees Thomas Matton make way for Kenny Saief, who has just over 20 minutes to help save Gent's Champions League dream.
65'
Rodriguez is starting to show a lot more down this left-hand side, which is in turn making Wolfsburg get down the pitch a little quicker. The Swiss international comes forward once again after a darting run forward, but chooses the wrong option in the end as he slashes a low strike wide of the left-hand post.
63'
It wouldn't be hard, but the second period is miles better than the opening 45 minutes here at the Volswagen Arena as both sides finally start showing attacking ambition to try and get through into the quarter-final. Remember, the 3-2 scoreline from the first leg still plays a massive part, so the impetus is on Gent to get the goals flowing.
61'
OHHH WHAT A SITTER FROM SCHURRLE! Draxler is at the heart of everything positive for Wolfsburg and this time he picks out the former Chelsea winger at the back post with a lovely pass, but the subsequent strike on goal goes harmlessly into the arms of the goalkeeper from six yards! That was more like a pass back that a strike! Still 0-0!
59'
Fantastic move from Gent! Simon collects the ball a yard in from the left touchline and leaves Trasch for dead in the channel with a bursting run before reversing a perfect pass into the box for Milicevic, but the resulting strike on goal is slashed wide by the left foot of the Swiss! That move deserved a better final product there! Great work from the Nigerian!
57'
SAVE FROM SELS! A corner kick is whipped into the danger area from Draxler and falls fortuitously to Gustavo, who shifts possession out of his feet before rifling a strike aimed at the top corner! Luckily for Gent, their goalkeeper is perfectly positioned to make the block before collecting out of the air at the second attempt.
55'
We are 10 minutes into the second period now and although still looking uncomfortable at the back, Wolfsburg are beginning to show a little more in the final third. Draxler has been at the heart of it as he continues to catalyse a little more tempo into the passing of the hosts in and around the Gent penalty area.
53'
Ricardo Rodriguez can sometimes have a wand of a left foot from this distance from free kicks, but not so much on this occasion as his set-piece slams harmlessly into the solid Gent wall, with the visitors eventually clearing the threat up the pitch thereafter.
52'
Arnold receives the ball to feet midway through the Gent half and turns sharply before opening up his stride with a powerful dash forward. The attack comes to a screeching halt, though, as Kums retreats back to commit the foul, somehow escaping going into the book in the process. That was a clear yellow, but the referee lets him away with it.
50'
In a situation which is very similar to the altercation between Draxler and Asare in the first half, Arnold goes down clutching his face after a shove to the face by Neto. Again, not the worst challenge you will ever see, but perhaps sums up the aggressive nature of Gent on the night. They just need to channel this intensity in to some goalscoring chances!
48'
Wolfsburg's distribution from the back has been shocking at times tonight, and the latest guilty party is Knoche, who steps out of defence initially with positive intentions, but then gives the ball away in a terrible position again to Kums, who transfers the pressure right back on the hosts with a venture forward of his own.
46'
We are back under way in this Champions League clash between Wolfsburg and Gent!
44'
There's not going to be too much added time allocated by the referee here as the game has been relatively free flowing even with the distinct lack of goalscoring chances. Both sides running out of time to vitally find the net before they go in for the half-time break.
42'
Milicevic receives the ball to feet around 30 yards out and has a look at his options before attempting a very tough pass over the top of the Wolfsburg defence for Matton. It doesn't come off and goes behind, and it did actually seem like he perhaps would have had better luck trying for a long-range strike on goal. At least it would have tested Casteels...
40'
Wolfsburg manage to put together a nice little period of sustained possession in the final third, finally putting some meaningful pressure on the visitors. Three crosses, each one better than the last, are sent high into the area, but each are dealt with relatively comfortably by Gent, with the last one eventually going behind for a goal kick.
38'
Normally the Volkswagen Arena is bouncing and vibrant with noise, but tonight there is just an eery, tense atmosphere within the stands at the moment as the Wolfsburg faithful would probably have thought their players would have took the lead by now against the minnows of the tournament. Deadlock remains intact.
36'
Draxler, who was outstanding in the first leg and netted two brilliant goals, is yet to find his feet in an attacking sense so far, more or less playing on the periphary of proceedings. Perhaps just taking that sore one to the face from Asare has put him off his game slightly, but still time to make a positive impact.
34'
Rafinha drives down the right wing with pace after receiving an outstanding diagonal pass from Neto, who had picked up the ball in midfield. The right back moves into space further forward and stands a teasing cross to the back post, but before Simon can get on the end of it, Casteels snatches out of the air.
32'
Gent have been very impressive on the ball tonight, and you can see how they have managed to defy expectations and make it to this stage of the competition for the first time in their history. However, how much of this evening has been their good work and how much of it is down to Wolfsburg not showing too much attacking ambition?
30'
This game definitely needs a goal to ignite it here, as both sides are too content to play with what they have without much penetration at the moment. Gent are arguably the guiltier of both parties, as it is them who need to press ahead for not one, but two goals. If this match continues like this then Wolfsburg will be happy.
28'
Simon has been a really good outlet down that left-hand side for Gent so far, and it is giving Trasch all kinds of problems with his pace and direct running. He has managed to get a couple of decent strikes away, too, but they have been relatively easy for Casteels.
26'
The game has been a bit of a midfield battle so far and it is meaning that the goalkeepers in their respective goals haven't been tested to a high degree other than that Guilavogui strike which was palmed away by Sels. There is quality on show, but not really in the final third as of yet.
24'
Wolfsburg have been nowhere near their best so far, and you have to wonder whether the first-leg advantage they currently have is playing on their minds in a negative manner. Gent need to score at least two goals to progress tonight, so perhaps the hosts don't see the point of going forward with any kind of intensity or tempo?
22'
We are just beyond the midway point of the first half now and aren't really closer to finding out who will open the scoring at the Volkswagen Arena. Gent have been a threat when in possession, and the Wolfsburg fans must be getting rather anxious in their seats as the visitors continue to look the better outfit on the night.
20'
The movement of the Gent attackers are really causing problems for this static Wolfsburg defence here! On this occasion, Simon is the man posing a threat with a tricky dribble down to the byline before teasing an absolutely brilliant cross along the six-yard box, but there are no takers for the visitors! That was begging to be smashed home! Still 0-0!
19'
SAAAAAVE FROM SELS! Guilavogui gets into a more advanced area this time and makes his way into the final third before moving into space around 25 yards out. After composing himself, he lets rip with a drilled strike aimed towards the top left corner, but the Gent goalkeeper is equal to it and comfortably gets across goal to palm behind for a Wolfsburg corner kick.
17'
Wolfsburg are really not playing with a lot of confidence so far tonight, particularly in their defensive work. Rodruguez and Trasch have made shaky starts in their respective full-back positions, but it looks like their indecision has started to creep into more central areas as Dante languishes in possession far too long before eventually clearing up the park as Simon sniffs around for a mistake.
15'
Kruse has had to feed off scraps in the lone striker role so far tonight, but eventually bursts into life when he receives a cross to feet around 12 yards out before turning sharply and squeezing out a half volley aimed at the bottom corner. It ends up going a yard wide, but much better going forward from Wolfsburg.
13'
Guilavogui collects the ball just outside the centre circle and strides past a couple of challenges with ease before looking to pick out the excellent run of Schurrle in behind the Gent defence, but before the World Cup winner can get on the end of the pass, Sels proactively comes off his line to claim out of the air. Really good goalkeeping in the end.
11'
Gent can certainly be relatively content with their performance in the opening stages of this second leg clash, as they have indeed probably been the more impressive outfit when actually in possession. Not much penetration going forward though, which will be a worry to Vanhaezebrouck in the dugout for the visitors.
9'
Rodriguez moves up the left wing with authority and then horribly gives the ball away in midfield, which allows Gent to burst forward on the counterattack. Kums, who was on target in the first leg, charges ahead and tries his luck with a long-range strike, but it is blocked down well by Dante, who eventually clears the danger.
7'
Some worrying scenes for Wolfsburg at the moment as their match winner from the first leg, Draxler, is currently down clutching his face after an altercation with Asare just a yard in from the right touchline. There was no malice whatsoever in the challenge from the Gent defender, though, so the German should be okay to continue.
5'
JUST OVER FROM MILICEVIC! As mentioned only a few moments ago, Gent are going to be heavily reliant on the pace of their two forward men tonight, and it is the Swiss who manages to break in behind the Wolfsburg defence on this occasion, only to eventually blaze over the bar with a left-footed strike. Positive stuff from the Belgian outfit!
3'
With talismanic striker, Laurent Depoitre, only the bench tonight due to suffering an injury this week, Gent have started the match tonight without a recognised centre-forward, instead relying on the pace of Simon and Milicevic for attacking prowess. However, if the visitors are still chasing the game later on, expect to see some positive alterations from Hein Vanhaezebrouck.
A few weeks back, the amount of away goals scored by Wolfsburg could have damaging ramifications for Gent considering they need to score at least two goals in Germany this evening. However, the Belgian outfit can take confidence from their goalscoring record in the competition this year as they have managed to find the net in every single Champions League fixture so far this season. Also, four of their last five tournament goals have been scored in the final 15 minutes – including two in the first leg of this tie.
Domestically, both sides are having contrasting fortunes at he moment. Wolfsburg's horrible start to the Bundesliga campaign last year is still causing issues for them as they are disappointingly placed 7th at the moment, but still can take some solace from the fact that they are only five points away from the last Champions League place. Gent, meanwhile, are still very much fighting on both fronts for glory as they are second in the Belgium Pro League – two points behind leaders, Club Brugge.
Dieter Hecking's charges are currently on their best ever run in the Champions League, which includes three consecutive wins, one of which was the first leg of this tie. The previous two entries in the run were highly impressive victories against Manchester United and CSKA Moscow away in Russia. They have also only lost one out of their last six home games in the competition which funnily enough came up against the Red Devils back in 2009.
At the second leg stage, it is clear that some of the knockout ties in the competition are more or less over. However, this encounter between Wolfsburg and Gent is certainly not one of those after we were treated to a dramatic and highly entertaining first leg in which the Bundesliga outfit ran out narrow 3-2 winners in Belgium. It could have been very different, though, as the hosts tonight actually went 3-0 up after a superb double from Julian Draxler and a strike from Max Kruse, but Gent fought back admirably and scored two in the last ten minutes to keep their Champions League dream alive.
