Time is all but up for Ireland as Poland have done a decent job of killing the clock for the past two minutes.

75'
CHANCE! Blaszczykowski works the ball to his right on the edge of the box after a neat turn from Milik in the box. He lays his pass into Maczynski, but the midfielder can only scuff his strike well wide of the post.

71'
Washington enjoys Northern Ireland's best moment of the match as he beats Pazdan down the right and races into the box, but Szczesny races off his line to beat the striker to the ball and smothers at his feet. Excellent keeping by the Arsenal man.
69'
C. Cathcart gets yellow.
Cathcart scythes down Lewandowski on the half-way line and deservedly goes into the book.
68'
CHANCE! Milik feeds the run of Blaszczykowski down the right and the midfielder fires the ball across the face of goal, only to see his effort go inches past the post. Neither Milik or Lewandowski were close to getting on the end of the strike.

An attacking substitute from O'Neill has replaces Ferguson with Conor Washington.

55'
Davis battles well in his own half to keep the ball away from three white shirts poised to whip it away should he have failed, but the Irish skipper won the duel to save his team.
53'
Ireland will have to come out of their defensive shell now, which could leave more space on the counter for Poland. O'Neill has to do it though and he may have to turn to further attacking options on the bench. Will Grigg perhaps?
51'
A. Milik has scored a goal for Poland! Assist by J. Błaszczykowski.
Milik notches the first goal of the game with a neat finish into the bottom corner with his left foot. The striker kept getting opportunities and this time he has punished the Irish defence by keeping his composure in the penalty area.

Blaszczykowski hits the ground as he tries to bring the ball forward under little contact. The referee does not buy his claims and awards the free-kick to Ireland. A little bit of frustration may just be creeping into Poland's game.
40'
CHANCES! Blaszczykowski sends a corner into the box and several white shirts swing a leg at the ball trying to force it towards the net. It's all hands on deck for the Irish, but somehow they manage to do enough to deny Poland as Milik puts his strike into the side-netting.
39'
CHANCE! Poland scream for a penalty as Lafferty appears to handle the ball in the box as he tries to clear. His attempted hoof downfield falls into the path of Kapustka on the edge of the box, who takes a touch on to his left foot. He hammers an effort towards the top corner, but McGovern makes a fine save to turn his strike over the bar.

23'

18'
Ferguson makes a rare foray forward into the Poland half and sends a low cross into the box, but Lafferty is nowhere to be seen as Szczesny races off his line to smother.
16'
Danger for O'Neill's men as Maczynski weaves his way through a couple of tackles and into the box. He strikes the ball with power on his left foot, but McLaughlin makes the block and it hits off Jedrzejczyk's boot to go out for a goal-kick.
15'
Good play from McLaughlin down the right to win a cheap free-kick under pressure from Kapustka. The Pole was just too overzealous in his attempts to win the ball from the Ireland defender.
13'
Not much joy for Ireland going forward so far as Lafferty has seen nothing of the ball in the final third. O'Neill's men just need to settle in the middle of the park before committing men further forward to support the striker.
11'
Baird gets back to make a cushioned chest into the hands of McGovern from Jedrzejczyk's cross, although his heart may have been in his mouth as the ball span just before the keeper gathered on the line.
9'
CHANCE! Jedrzejczyk races down the left flank and sends a low cross into the box for the run of Milik to the near post. The Ajax man tries to send a left-footed strike to the near post, but Evans reacts to divert his strike behind.

5'
CHANCE! Poland keep the pressure on and the loose ball from Baird's attempted clearance falls into the path of Milik, but he cannot make contact with his outstretched leg, allowing the Irish to clear.
4'
Poland pile forward in numbers as Krychowiak tries to blast his strike from the edge of the box through a crowd of green shirts, but McNair makes the vital block.
3'
Piszczek gets round the back of McAuley to loft the ball in from the right, but his cross proves to be too high for the head of Lewandowski at the back post.
2'
Blaszczykowski takes the set-piece but can only send his effort straight into the first defender and Ireland clear the danger as Davis brings the ball away.

We're underway in this Group C clash.
McAuley comes in with the first challenge of the game and he mistimes his tackle on Milik, handing a free-kick to Poland on the right flank.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Euro 2016 Group C clash between Poland and Northern Ireland in Nice.
Northern Ireland are competing in the European Championships for the first time in their history, and are participating in their first major tournament since the 1986 World Cup. It's a momentous day for Michael O'Neill and his men as well as the nation.
O'Neill and his side have been handed a tricky task in their bid to reach the second round of the tournament, facing off againt Poland today while world champions Germany also reside in Group C. The Irish will have to be at their absolute best in their three group games to have any hope of progressing.
Northern Ireland head into the Euros full of confidence and off the back of a 12-game unbeaten run, which stretches back to last March when they were defeated 1-0 by Scotland. O'Neill's men have become a solid unit and their mettle will be put to the test this afternoon.
Poland boast the fearsome prospect of Robert Lewandowksi in their frontline, fresh off an oustanding campaign for Bayern Munich where he fired 30 strikes in the Bundesliga, guiding his team to the title.
Kyle Lafferty will lead the line for Northern Ireland this afternoon, overcoming his groin injury to start. Captain Steven Davis will play just in behind the forward, while Paddy McNair, Oliver Norwood and Chris Baird operate in a three-man midfield.
Shane Ferguson and Conor McLaughlin offer width from their wing-back positions, while there is a great deal of experience at the back as Craig Cathcart, Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley play in front of Michael McGovern.
The players are out on the pitch, and the national anthems are being sung. We should be underway very shortly.
Ireland will have to be at their best at the back as Lewandowksi and Arkadiusz Milik will be aiming to fire Poland to victory as they lead the line this afternoon. Jakub Blaszczykowski and Grzegorz Krychowiak will look to dominate the middle of the park, a contest is in store here.
Today's referee is Ovidiu Hategan from Romania. Hopefully he won't be too busy this afternoon.
HALF-TIME: Poland 0-0 Northern Ireland
Goalless at the break in Nice and Northern Ireland will be pleased with their efforts in the opening 45 minutes of the tournament. Poland have been the better side, but have not been able to break down the Irish defence, although they were just starting to show signs late in the half.
Arkadiusz Milik has disappointed as he missed his side's best chance of the half by blasting over from close range, while Michael McGovern made a good save to deny Bartosz Kapustka. Robert Lewandowski has been kept quiet so far, but will Ireland be able to keep him at bay for the entire match?
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be back underway shortly.
FULL-TIME: Poland 1-0 Northern Ireland
There's still hope for Michael O'Neill's men, but they will need to raise the level of their game in the final third to have any hope of advancing beyond the group stage.
Poland do enough to clinch victory in their opening match of the tournament as Arkadiusz Milik's second-half effort secured the three points. Ireland defended manfully for the majority of the contest, but were undone by the quality of Adam Nawalka's men as they upped the ante in the second period.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
