Into stoppage time, and it's just not happening for Portugal as they try to rush the ball forward. Austria seem like they're not going to let it slip at this late stage. A late cross comes in that's cleared easily.
89'
Rafa enters the game and replaces Nani.
Nani has been taken off and on comes Rafa Silva.
A great introduction by Rafa Silva, who storms down the left-hand side and pings a dangerous cross that is cleared only as far as Vieirinha, who lashes a shot into a crowd of bodies.
87'
K. Wimmer enters the game and replaces S. Ilsanker.
Ilsanker has been replaced by Wimmer in Austria's final change.
86'
A. Schöpf gets yellow.
The substitute Schoph is booked for dissent.
Ronaldo is teetering on the brink, you feel, with nothing going his way tonight. He's prickly and frustrated, and I won't want to be the one sharing a seat on the coach back to the hotel with him...unless something changes in the last few minutes.
85'
L. Hinterseer enters the game and replaces M. Sabitzer.
Sabitzer is off and Hinterseer is introduced.
84'
GOAL RULED OUT! Ronaldo thought for sure that he had buried his demons as he converted off a free-kick, but replays show that he was well offside, and the officials were right to chalk it off.
83'
Éder enters the game and replaces André Gomes.
Andre Gomes has been withdrawn, and on comes Eder.
81'
You're increasingly getting the feeling like it's not going to be Portugal's night. Ronaldo has had no luck with anything, and none of his team-mates seem capable of stepping up to the plate.
79'
OFF THE POST! Would you believe it! Ronaldo steps up to the spot and fools Almer into diving the wrong way, but his penalty rebounds off the base of the post! Massive opportunity missed.
78'
M. Hinteregger gets yellow.
PENALTY TO PORTUGAL! Guerreiro slices in a cross from the left-hand side, and Hinteregger is caught tangling with Ronaldo to get on the end of it. He brings down the Portugal captain, concedes the spot-kick and gets booked.
Minute
Description
76'
Portugal are getting increasingly frustrated, giving the ball away carelessly. That's allowing Austria the chance to work some spells in possession, giving their fans something to cheer.
74'
Strange scenes there from an Austria free-kick. They halfheartedly attempt a rehearsed routine, ending when Pepe cleared to Fuchs, who slams a volley wide of the mark from 25 yards.
72'
Portugal of course crashed out of the group stages of the 2014 World Cup in disappointing fashion. They may yet qualify this time around, but it has been another below-par showing from them.
71'
João Mário enters the game and replaces Ricardo Quaresma.
Quaresma's influence has waned, and on comes Joao Mario.
69'
Not a lot happening out on the pitch at the moment, which will suit Austria just fine. A point against Portugal is a decent result, but it of course leaves them needing a win against Iceland in their last game to qualify.
67'
Quaresma makes a good run down the right but doesn't follow it up with any end product, as his cross is nothing but catching practice for Almer. Portugal starting to get a little frustrated here.
65'
A. Schöpf enters the game and replaces D. Alaba.
Alaba hasn't been too effective this evening, but it's still a surprise for Austria to take off their star man. Is there an injury we don't know about or was it tactical? On comes Schoph in his place.
62'
Austria do well to deal with a series of high balls into their area, and try to launch an attack of their own through Harnik down the right-hand side. However, there's no route to goal for him.
60'
C. Fuchs gets yellow.
Quaresma goes down under pressure from Fuchs, and is booked.
Andre Gomes angles himself to take a shot, but he probably took one stride forward too many, and as a result, sees his effort blocked. We're just about to cross the hour mark in Paris.
58'
Guerreiro gets the space on the left to ping in a cross, but the imposing figure of Prodl is there once again to get rid of the danger. Portugal continue to swarm all over Austria in the second half.
56'
ANOTHER STOP! From the corner, Ronaldo gets his head to the ball but Almer is there again to deny him! It's starting to heat up around the Austria goal here and they're hanging on a bit.
54'
GREAT SAVE! In a flash, Ronaldo bursts into life, cutting in from the right flank and hammering a punishing effort on target, but Almer manages to get hands to the ball and push it away!
52'
Prodl has been a rock at the back all evening for Austria, and he comes up with another superb defensive contribution to challenge Nani on the turn, winning the ball cleanly on the edge of his own area.
50'
Ronaldo takes charge of a free-kick from a long way out, but he slams it right into the wall. The Portugal captain is just not firing on all cylinders in front of goal in the Euros - he's cut a very frustrated figure.
48'
EARLY SAVE! Austria finally launch a decent attack, and it's Ilsanker who drives forward to power an effort on goal, only to be denied by a lovely stop from Patricio, who had had little to do until that point.
47'
M. Harnik gets yellow.
Harnik brings down Moutinho and earns himself a yellow card.
46'
Here we go again.
45' +1
Vieirinha was badly at fault for Iceland's goal in their group opener, but he made up for it somewhat with that defensive play to stop Alaba's free-kick. He had an attacker draped all over his back too.
44'
Clash of heads between Alaba and Ricardo Carvalho which leaves both players on the pitch wincing in pain. The referee stops the game as expected, and the pair are back on their feet soon enough.
42'
SOMEHOW IT STAYS OUT! Alaba hammers in the free-kick from an impossible angle, and it seeps set to sail in at the far corner, bu Vieirinha launches his body into his own goal, touching it away on the line!
40'
Pepe gets yellow.
Pepe is shown a yellow card for taking down Alaba in a dangerous position, just outside the box. It was a crunching challenge from the Real Madrid defender, and now Portugal have some defending to do.
39'
SAVE! This time, the flag stays down as Ronaldo angles himself to attack a delivery. Quaresma flicks a header into the area, and the Real Madrid man takes it on his right foot, but it's swallowed by the keeper.
37'
FLAG IS UP! Ronaldo pummels a header on goal that draws a great save from Almer before the linesman signals. However, replays suggest that he was level when Nani's cross came in.
35'
Austria can't keep the ball to save their lives here. Every potential attack is broken down by careless turnover after careless turnover. It's allowing Portugal all the joy in the world in breaking quickly.
33'
HUGE CHALLENGE! Hinteregger races to the top of the box to crunch into Ronaldo, just as the Real Madrid man was about to pull the trigger on the end of another enterprising Portugal attack.
31'
Ricardo Quaresma gets yellow.
OFF THE POST! A corner for Portugal is headed towards goal by the sprightly Nani, where it cracks off the woodwork. Moutinho attacks the rebound from the top of the box, but can't keep it down.
Quaresma gets booked for complaining after he was held off the ball legally by Prodl.
29'
Austria haven't won a game at a major championship - that includes the Euros and the World Cup - since a 2-1 win over the Unites States at Italia '90. They'll need to do that at some point in the group, you feel.
27'
Klein barges into the back of Ronaldo, sending the Portugal skipper flying. The challenges are starting to ramp up in intensity, and it may not be long before we see the first booking of the game.
25'
Quaresma takes yet another corner for Portugal, their fifth by my count. However, this one is far too heavy, and Moutiho can't catch up with it on the far side. Austria have a chance to gather themselves.
23'
Austria are really on the back foot now as Portugal keep breaking on them like water on rocks. Their wide areas especially look vulnerable, and we all know that's the favourite route of attack for the Seleccao.
21'
MASSIVE MISS! Portugal crack open Austria's right flank with an excellent move that sees Guerreiro scamper to the byline after starting and finishing a one-two. His low ball into the box seems set to be buried, but Ronaldo slots it wide!
19'
It's getting feisty out there, as Nani and Arnautovic had to be separated moments ago. From a corner, Ricardo Carvalho and Ronaldo get in each other's way, and have some stern words for each other.
17'
MIX-UP! Almer attempts to clear Hinteregger's back-pass, but only succeeds in smashing it against a team-mate and out for a corner. That could have gone anywhere, and there's an inquest in the Austrian ranks.
15'
Ricardo Carvalho is isolated in a wide position against Arnautovic, but the centre-back stands his ground and makes the challenge. Austria will fancy their chances on the counter-attack against Portugal.
13'
William Carvalho misses the target, before Austria break through Harnik, who makes Ricardo Carvalho sweat for a moment with his speed. The end-to-end action in this match continues.
11'
Nani, who has started to get more involved in the game, skips into the area and fires away on goal, only for Almer to thwart it. Moments later, the keeper is at it again, this time denying Vieirinha!
9'
A lovely tempo to start this match, with both teams looking to get players forward in attack. Portugal have been the better side, clearly keen to make an impression after the Iceland disappointment.
7'
William Carvalho plays a lovely ball down the right to Quaresma, who glides past two players before keeping the ball wide. Portugal eventually work the ball into the box, but a header goes over the bar from Nani.
5'
AUSTRIA SHOULD BE AHEAD! Sabitzer pulls wide and delivers a peach of a cross that catches the defence flat footed. Harnik attacks it from point-blank range, without a defender in sight, but he plants it wide!
3'
Ronaldo tonight is looking to become the first player in history to score at four consecutive European Championships. It seems like he should be 40 years old at this point, given how long he's been at the top level!
1'
Off we go then!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Euro 2016 matchup between Portugal and Austria. Group F is wide open, with both of these sides looking to bounce back from disappointing opening-game results. Stick with us for all the action.
Portugal come into this match knowing that anything less than a win will be viewed as a disappointment. They were held 1-1 by Iceland in their opening game in a subdued display.
Austria were shocked with a 2-0 loss to Hungary that has left them currently propping up Group F. This is only their second time at the Euros, after thye automatically qualified as co-hosts for Euro 2008.
It's been pretty evenly split between these two sides in terms of their previous meetings, with five of those 10 games ending in draws, and Portugal just about edging things otherwise with three wins to Austria's two.
Portugal (4-4-2): Rui Patricio; Vieirinha, Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho, Raphael Guerreiro; Quaresma, William Carvalho, Moutinho, Gomes; Nani, Ronaldo.
Danilo has a back problem and will sit this game out, while Joao Mario has been benched, meaning that William Carvalho and Ricardo Quaresma are both handed starts by Portugal - the only two changes from the Iceland game.
Aleksandar Dragovic's red card against Hungary sees him suspended this evening, meaning that Sebastian Prodl will step in to the centre of the defence. Stefan Ilsanker and Marcel Sabitzer will both play in place of Marc Janko and Zlatko Junuzovic respectively.
And that will do it for now from the French capital, as Portugal enter the break frustrated by Austria. The Seleccao created a number of chances to score - although das Burschen have also fashioned two wonderful openings of their own. Surely it's not long before we see the first goal? Stay tuned for the restart shortly.
And that will do it! Portugal are frustrated yet again, with Ronaldo's missed penalty summing up a match where they failed to take the opportunities that fell their way. It leaves Group F finely poised, with Hungary leading on four points, followed by Portugal and Iceland on two apiece, with Austria one further behind. It's all set up for the final matchday. That's all the time we've got, thanks for tuning in!
