Gray is given a standing ovation as he leaves the field of play, with O'Neill coming on to replace him.
Gray manages to drive upfield and earn his side a late corner, which will ease the pressure on their shoulders. The hosts then keep the ball up the corner to run down the clock further.
90' +1
There are three minutes of stoppage time at Turf Moor.
90'
Clyne takes aim from 30 yards out, but hammers a low drive about 10 yards wide of the far post. Absolutely abysmal effort, especially considering that Liverpool had a penalty box loaded with expectant bodies.
88'
Mee is the latest Burnley defender to hammer clear, before Grujic hammers high and wide of the target, to the frustration of the Liverpool fans. To all intents and purposes, it looks as though the hosts will be keeping unfancied clean sheet today.
86'
Burnley get lucky! Coutinho tries his luck after being fortunate to see a loose ball fall to him just inside the penalty box, but a flying block helps Heaton out! The Englishman didn't look to have his angles covered. The away side keep their pressure up, but Keane hacks another hurried clearance away.
84'
There is a brief stoppage in play, as Lowton goes down injured, which allows for Klopp to give Coutinho some late instructions. Burnley are simply wanting to run the clock down at this point, and are prepared to take their time over everything.
82'
L. Jutkiewicz enters the game and replaces S. Vokes.
Origi tries to shoot from a tight angle on the left-hand side, but Lowton slides in to block a shot from the ex-Lille forward. Firmino then looks to try his luck from quite a way out, but the Brazilian fails to hit the target altogether. Heaton has yet another goal-kick to take.
Jutkiewicz comes into the fray to freshen things up for Burnley, with Vokes taking his leave.
80'
Grujic goes close! The young midfielder takes aim from the edge of the box, forcing Heaton to palm his powerful attempt over the crossbar! The resulting corner is taken short to the edge of the box, before Boyd manages to defuse the dangerous. Klopp's men have wasted set-pieces time and time again.
78'
M. Grujić enters the game and replaces A. Lallana.
Lallana takes his leave after a quiet second half, with Grujic introduced to make a difference.
77'
Alberto Moreno enters the game and replaces J. Milner.
Burnley continue to patrol the very periphery of their penalty area, with claret and blue shirts in abundance making up a very congested midfield third. Liverpool just keep moving the ball, probing for gaps, but they just can't find the opening that would unsettle Dyche's men for the final 10 minutes in Lancashire.
Moreno comes into the game for the dying minutes, replacing Milner as a more orthodox left-back.
Minute
Description
75'
Liverpool look to be patient, with Wijnaldum attempting to feed Origi into the penalty area with a tame pass, but the Belgian substitute gets the wrong side of Ward and ends up fouling the ex-Wolves defender. Burnley threaten due to a direct ball upfield once again, with Mignolet off his line in a flash to clear away from Gray.
73'
Gray manages to drive away at pace on the break, but some shoddy footwork allows for Henderson to get goalside and help Klavan ensure that the ex-Brentford goalscorer doesn't go any further. There's still every possibility that Gray could bag his second of the game in the remaining quarter of an hour.
71'
Coutinho shoots from 20 yards yet again, but fails to hit the target, in what is becoming a rinse-and-repeat exercise for Liverpool. Heaton has probably spent more time taking goal-kicks than doing anything else this afternoon. Burnley see Boyd release Gray down the left channel, but Klavan covers across to defuse the situation.
69'
Liverpool are committing plenty of bodies forward, with yet another searching cross from the left failing to find anybody in the penalty box. It is Coutinho's turn to whip one in this time, but it ends in the same disappointing fashion. Klopp's men only have 20 minutes left to buck their ideas up.
67'
Gudmundsson manages to pick out Gray on the edge of the penalty area, but a left-footed strike from the ex-Brentford striker can only spiral away from the target. Burnley continue to look very dangerous on the counter-attack indeed.
65'
D. Origi enters the game and replaces D. Sturridge.
J. Henderson gets yellow.
Klopp makes his first change of the game, with the disappointing Sturridge replaced by Origi.
Henderson gets the first yellow of the game, with the Liverpool captain penalised for cynically sliding in on Gudmundsson after giving possession away himself.
64'
Arfield and Gray attempt to drive upfield as a two-man counter-attack, before Vokes is able to get up in support. The Welsh goalscorer is picked out in the box and tries to shoot, but Lovren pressures the opposition striker enough to scramble the danger away. Liverpool respond with another cross from Milner, but Keane hammers clear yet again.
62'
Dyche's side remain organised in their two banks of four, with Vokes and Gray being used in a purely defensive way at present. Milner drives a low cross in from the left, but Keane hammers a first-time clearance away at the near-post. Liverpool continue to desperately push for a goal, but they haven't had the rub of the green thus far.
60'
Liverpool are still probing for a breakthrough as we edge over the hour mark, with Milner the latest man to bend in a cross. The ex-Aston Villa man delivers from the left, but neither Keane nor Sturridge can get their head on it, meaning that the ball bounces straight behind for a goal-kick.
58'
Over from Coutinho yet again! The Brazilian catches a looping ball on the volley from 20 yards out, but can only send a dipping attempt some way over the crossbar, with Heaton happy to watch it head into the stands. Burnley could be punished soon if they allow the Liverpool star to keep pulling the trigger.
57'
Clyne tries to drive down the right-hand side, but Ward and Boyd combine to frustrate the right-back, as Liverpool continue to recycle possession in a frustrating U-shape. Dyche will be pleased with how his side are holding out, but the pressure is relentless, with something sure to give for the away outfit before long.
56'
J. Guðmundsson enters the game and replaces S. Defour.
Defour takes his leave after an all-action debut performance, with Gudmundsson injected into the action. Arfield should come infield, with the substitute taking up a position out on the right-hand side.
55'
Sturridge can only find the stands with an off-balance attempt from the right, as Liverpool continue to throw the kitchen sink at the hosts. Dyche's men are so deep that they sometimes have six to eight players inside their own box, but the Reds still can't find a way through. It is turning into a frustrating day for Klopp.
53'
Good stop from Heaton! The England international is forced into a full-stretch save to push the ball around the post, as Liverpool continue to pile on the pressure. Burnley are camped on the edge of their own box and keep getting deeper and deeper, with heroics blocks needed to deny the likes of Coutinho and Clyne.
52'
Sturridge dances inside from the right, with Wijnaldum then used as a wall to tee up Coutinho on the edge of the box. The former Inter Milan midfielder shoots from 25 yards out, but places a shot well within the reach of Heaton. The visitors are getting a little bit closer. Moments later, Gray is released in behind, but Klavan does just enough to put the striker off.
50'
Lovren tries to lift a long ball over the top for Sturridge to chase, but Keane is able to ease his man out of the way to allow Heaton to gather. There's a brief break in play, as Gray goes down heavily - fortunately for Dyche he is quickly back to his feet. An injury to their key man isn't what the Turf Moor faithful want to see at this stage of the season.
48'
Wide from Sturridge! The Liverpool striker is found in the penalty area, and turns onto his left foot, but the England international can only stroke a poor effort wide that was always curling away from the far post. A warning sign from the visitors early on in this half, however!
46'
We are back underway in the second half at Turf Moor! Burnley have a two-goal lead as it stands, but Klopp will be making sure that his side don't turn in the same abject showing after the break.
45'
There is one minute of first-half stoppage time.
43'
Liverpool continue to dominate possession, but Burnley are sitting deep in a manner that is only permitting long-range shots. Sturridge tries to get a shot off, after being found by a short pass from Coutinho, but Keane and Mee combine yet again to hoof a clearance upfield.
41'
Mee makes a timely clearance, but Liverpool keep their pressure on, with the trailing outfit force to retain possession in tame fashion. Lallana finds Coutinho on the left, who jinks inside onto his stronger foot, but the Brazil international belts a terrible attempt high and wide of the crossbar. Wasteful effort.
39'
Sturridge feeds a pass into Clyne, who tries to shoot from outside the box, but the ex-Crystal Palace man fires straight down Heaton's throat. Klopp's side are looking very low on ideas in the final third, with Burnley happy to force long-range efforts in congested areas of the pitch.
37'
A. Gray has scored a goal for Burnley! Assist by S. Defour.
Defour picks the ball up on the half-way line and drives with it, before laying a pass on for Gray with ease.
GOOOOOOOAL! GRAY MAKES IT 2-0! Lallana sees a shot charged down, as Liverpool players continue to queue up on the edge of the penalty area, but Heaton is yet to make a save this afternoon. Burnley counter, with Defour fortunate to burst through the heart of the Liverpool midfield with the aid of a deflection. The Belgian debutant lays on a pass for Gray, who jinks inside two defenders and fires a low finish into the bottom corner!
35'
Burnley continue to look very comfortable indeed, with Dyche's two banks of four dealing with extended pressure from the visitors brilliantly. Gray has been their only real threat on the break, but all of the possession Klopp's men have had has dissolved into nothing as a result of resilient defending.
33'
Milner dips a cross in from the left, but Keane rises highest to clear with his head, before a second delivery from the ex-Leeds midfielder is charged down by Lowton. Burnley try to counter through Gray, but the aforementioned ex-England international recovers brilliantly to make a sliding challenge.
31'
The opening half an hour have seen Liverpool limited to a range of pot-shots, as Burnley continue to look comfortable with everything being played in front of them. The hosts are simply biding their time and waiting for a mistake. Coutinho tries to slide a cute pass through for Wijnaldum to chase, but the ball ends up running straight behind for a goal-kick.
29'
The away side continue to try and settle down and dictate the tempo of this game, but Burnley are defending well. Gray has dropped deeper and hasn't been racing in behind as regularly, as Dyche demands a bit more defensive work from his front two. Sturridge drops a shoulder and cuts in from the right, before firing just wide of the left-hand post with his left foot! Close from the ex-Chelsea striker.
27'
Coutinho is fed to the left byline by Lallana, but once again Keane comes across to thwart a potentially dangerous cross. The Englishman gives away a corner, as a result, which is again taken short. The aforementioned Brazilian shoots from range, with a deflection off Marney taking the ball into Heaton's grateful arms. Dyche is bellowing out instructions as his men get deeper and deeper.
25'
Lowton is the target of a long, searching pass out to the right wing from Marney, but the ex-Aston Villa full-back can't take the ball in his stride. Liverpool continue to persevere with playing out through their defence like their coach wants, but Burnley's pressing is ensuring that the away side's build-up play is sluggish.
23'
Lallana tries to replicate Vokes' opener, with the England international looking to spin and find the back of the net, but the Liverpool man can only send a trickling attempt Heaton's way. The Burnley goalkeeper gathers it up with ease, before launching a counter-attack. It is end-to-end stuff thus far, with Lowton giving possession away, before a piercing Coutinho pass again finds its way to the hosts' shot-stopper.
21'
Lallana tries to feed Milner on the overlap, but the ex-Southampton midfielder slips when trying to play the penetrating ball. Burnley try to counter quickly by giving Gray possession, but the reigning Championship top goalscorer is quickly robbed. Klopp's men have responded well to going behind, but only due to the hosts' willingness to protect what they already have. Wijnaldum tries to bend in a delivery from the right, but Mee clears.
19'
Mignolet now has to have his wits about him to claim an early cross from Lowton, as Vokes threatened to drift in behind an unaware Lovren. Both goalkeepers have been busy early on, but only in terms of collecting a lot of aimless direct balls. After netting the opener, Burnley have been prepared to sit back in their shell and only commit men forward on the counter.
17'
Lowton has to be alert to head a dangerous cross behind for a Liverpool corner, after Sturridge threatened to try his luck from a close-range header. The visitors take their corner short, working the ball out to Coutinho on the edge of the area, but the ex-Inter Milan midfielder sees yet another shot charged down.
15'
Good defensive work from Keane! Lallana swivels inside the penalty area and tries to find Firmino in the six-yard box, but the ex-Manchester United defender lashes a clearance into touch. Klopp's men keep their pressure on, but some intricate work at the byline from Milner results in Liverpool giving away a needless goal-kick.
13'
Coutinho shoots from long range once again, but dips another right-footed shot just shy of the top-right corner, as the Brazil international tries to muster up some of the magic that got his side going at the Emirates last weekend. Burnley go on the counter-attack, following a terrible pass from Firmino, but a direct long ball is mopped up by Mignolet.
12'
Sturridge tries to clip a ball over the top for Firmino to run onto, but the weight on it is all wrong and the pass runs through to Heaton. Burnley respond with an attack of their own, but once again Klavan uses his presence well to disrupt things. After a poor opening few minutes, Liverpool are finally seeing more possession and trying to force an opening.
10'
Coutinho fizzes a pass directly out of play on the left-hand side, as Liverpool continue to struggle to get out of first gear in Lancashire. Sturridge uses a nice piece of skill to get away from Arfield, but Klopp's side aren't causing any problems in dangerous areas. Coutinho takes aim from the best part of 30 yards, but blasts his effort into the stands behind Heaton's goal.
8'
Gray and Boyd try to combine with a one-two, but Klavan steps out well to make a timely interception, as the hosts continue to look dangerous when driving forward at pace. Burnley are also looking organised off the ball, with Liverpool limited to shots from range, with Sturridge seeing a speculative effort deflected behind.
6'
Yet again, a long ball finding Gray scampering in behind Klavan, but this time Liverpool are saved by the offside flag. The pace of the ex-Brentford man looks to be causing a few problems early on. Klopp's men are trying to play out from the back, but Dyche's men are putting enough pressure on in the right areas to upset the apple cart.
4'
The home supporters immediately respond to Vokes' goal, with Turf Moor turning into a cauldron of noise. Liverpool suffered a slow start against Arsenal, and look at threat of doing the same thing again. Gray escapes in behind the visiting back four, bursting into the box at pace, but Lovren recovers to make a fantastic sliding tackle.
2'
S. Vokes has scored a goal for Burnley! Assist by A. Gray.
Gray slides a pass into his strike partner, who holds it up well before finding the back of the net.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! WHAT A HIT FROM VOKES! The Wales international receives the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the box, holding off his man well in the process. The ex-Wolves man swivels and thumps a wonderful finish beyond the despairing dive of Mignolet, with Burnley taking an early lead!
1'
We are underway in the first half at Turf Moor! The home fans are expectant, after a good performance last time out, but Jurgen Klopp's style won't allow the away side to give less than 120 per cent.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Burnley's second home game of the new Premier League season, as Sean Dyche's men look to build upon a late opening day defeat at the hands of Swansea City. Liverpool are the visitors and will be high on confidence after defeating Arsenal by a 4-3 scoreline last weekend.
Burnley suffered their first league defeat since Boxing Day, last time out, so the hosts will be hoping that their squad's confidence won't be deflated after seeing plenty of good momentum come to an end. Dyche has been outspoken in that his side needs some quality additions, with the Lancashire club moving to secure one key deal in the last week.
TEAM NEWS: Steven Defour makes his debut for the home side in the centre of midfield, replacing the outgoing David Jones, in what is the only change from the Clarets' opening day loss. Andre Gray and Sam Vokes are striking partners, with George Boyd and Scott Arfield asked to cause problems out wide. Stephen Ward holds his place at left-back, even after struggling last time out.
TEAM NEWS: Sadio Mane is sidelined due to injury for the away side, with Daniel Sturridge coming into the attack in his place. Philippe Coutinho is deployed on the left once again, after scoring twice against Arsenal, with Alberto Moreno dropped at left-back. James Milner, who played in defence during pre-season, replaces the Spaniard.
Liverpool substitutes: Grujic, Matip, Moreno, Stewart, Can, Manniger, Origi.
HALF-TIME! Burnley make it into the break with the scoreline at 2-0, despite Liverpool dominating possession impressively. Vokes and Gray have a goal apiece, before fantastic organisation and defending from the hosts has limited Coutinho and company to plenty of disappointing shots from range. Klopp won't be happy!
FULL-TIME! Burnley close out a 2-0 win over Liverpool, courtesy of first-half strikes from Vokes and Gray. The home side defended brilliantly and Klopp leaves frustrated as a result, with last weekend's victory over Arsenal seeming a long time ago indeed. That's all that we have time for from Turf Moor, as the newly promoted side pick up a vital three points against strong opposition. We hope to see you again next time.
