Canada's match has gone final, with a 3-1 win over El Salvador not enough to avoid elimination.

Minute
Description

Elis gets in down the right side of Mexico's box, but Ayala does extremely well to block that shot out for a corner with a sliding challenge.
And the corner sails over everybody for a throw-in.

64'
Claros eyes goal from distance but his effort is well off the mark.
61'
El Salvador has been reduced to 10 men in Vancouver, so Canada will have a golden chance to extend its 2-0 lead. We're still a long way from Honduras being eliminated, but it's definitely possible if Mexico gets on the board here.
60'
B. García enters the game and replaces M. Martínez.
Substitution Mario Roberto Martínez Hernández Brayan Alexander García Gonzalez
59'
Layun whips in a nice free kick, but Escober does well to punch it away.

56'
Chance Mexico! Layun picks out Aquino, whose header just misses the mark! He's actually flagged for offside anyway, but replays show that's the wrong call.
Lozano over the bar! It really should be 1-0 Mexico! Zaldivar played a perfect ball across goal and Lozano had the net gaping at the far post, but he just choked and fired his shot over.
51'
And Duenas is back on the field, with Mexico curiously not applying the concussion test.
Meanwhile in Vancouver, Canada now leads El Salvador 2-0. If Mexico can get a goal or two, things could get very tense for Honduras ...
50'
J. Dueñas gets yellow.
The wall does its job on the set piece, with Duenas blocking it. He's down now, though, looking a bit shaken up.
Yellow card Jesús Alberto Dueñas Manzo

Duenas becomes the first Mexican player to get booked as he takes down Quioto some 20 yards out. That's a very poor challenge.
46'
H. Lozano enters the game and replaces Á. Sepúlveda.
Guardado sends in a set piece that creates a scramble at the top of the 18, with Zaldivar eventually chipping over the bar.
44'

42'
Layun whips in a corner kick that Moreno connects with, but Leveron blocks it — and now he's down injured.
39'
Guardado gets called for a lazy challenge, giving Honduras a dangerous set piece some 30 yards from goal ... but it's easy pickings for Talavera.
36'
Save Escober! Zaldivar steered a sliding shot toward goal, but the Honduras goalkeeper did well to charge out, cut the angle and make the save.
35'
Duenas makes a nice run down the flank, but a challenge from Leveron throws off the Mexico right back and makes him take an extra touch out for a goal kick.
33'
And now we have a stoppage in play as Martinez receives treatment.
32'
... aaand instead they play it short, cross their wires and pass the ball out of bounds. That was not great.
31'
Martinez draws a foul on Guardado some 40 yards from goal. Looks like Honduras will pump this one into the box ...
29'
Herrera bends an enticing ball to the far post that Aquino can't quite connect with. Good idea, though.

Honduras continues to apply pressure, with Quioto sending in a low cross that Mexico must sweep away.

21'
Duenas does well to keep the ball in bounds, then absorbs a hard challenge from Izaguirre. No card, though.
20'
Quioto creates all sorts of problems down the left with his dribbling. His service, however, leaves something to be desired as Mexico clears away. That sequence started with a very poor giveaway by Reyes near midfield.
19'
Honduras earns a free kick some 40 yards from goal, but Martinez buzzes an effort that misses the mark.
17'
But Guardado bends his effort over the bar.
Guardado runs at his defender and draws a free kick some 20 yards from goal. Dangerous set piece here ...

11'
Cyle Larin has given Canada a 1-0 lead over El Salvador in Vancouver. The pressure increases for Honduras ...
9'
Save Talavera! An ambitious effort from 40 yards out takes a mean deflection and nearly loops in! But Talavera tips it over the bar.
7'
Palacios does well to connect with a corner, nodding an effort that deflects off a defender and earns Honduras another corner. The second one is played short, and it ends with a poor service that sails out for a goal kick.
6'
Duenas draws a foul off a lazy shove in the back from Elis. This one already is getting chippy ...
5'

3'
Chance Honduras! Talavera misjudges a long-range set piece that floats just past the upper corner.
1'
And we're underway!
Hello and welcome to Goal's LIVE commentary of tonight's World Cup qualifier between Mexico and Honduras at Estadio Azteca.
Here is the Mexico lineup: Talavera; Duenas, Ayala, Moreno, Layun; Reyes, Herrera, Guardado; Aquino, Sepulveda, Zaldivar
And here is Honduras' lineup: Escober; Beckeles, Palacios, Leveron, Figueroa, Izaguirre; Quioto, Claros, Martínez; Mejía, Elis
So this match means nothing for Mexico in terms of placement, after El Tri won their group back in March. But it means everything for Honduras, which can advance to the Hexagonal with a win or draw.
Honduras also will advance with a loss if Canada fails to defeat El Salvador in a simultaneous match. In fact, even a Honduras loss and Canada win will see Honduras advance unless Canada erases its five-goal deficit in the differential tiebreaker.
HALFTIME: Mexico 0-0 Honduras. And El Tri are booed off the field as they enter the locker room.
FINAL: Mexico 0-0 Honduras. El Tri are showered with boos for that lackluster performance, but that match ultimately didn't matter. Honduras, meanwhile, has advanced to the Hexagonal.
Mexico will return to the field in World Cup qualifying with its Hexagonal opener Nov. 11 in the United States before traveling to face Panama four days later. Honduras will open the Hex with back-to-back home games, against Panama and Trinidad and Tobago.
And that's a wrap on Goal's live commentary tonight — thanks for following along!
