Kick-off! We're underway at Juventus Stadium with the home side in their classic black and white stripes and Sassuolo in their changed all blue kit.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Serie A match between Juventus and Sassuolo at Juventus Stadium. The home side go into the game sitting second in the league table, behind Genoa on goal difference only, having won both of their opening two games prior to the international break.
Sassuolo, who qualified for this season’s Europa League for the first time in their history last year, also won their opening two fixtures, however the league’s decision to overturn their 2-1 win over Pescara last time out due to an unregistered player, and subsequently award a 3-0 win to their opponents, means they currently sit 13th in the Serie A table.
Juventus had five players in the Italian squad that beat Israel in their World Cup qualifier over the international weekend, with Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini all starting the game, although Chiellini was sent off midway through the second half.
None of the Sassuolo players were included in the Italian squad, and manager Eusebio Di Francesco will be hoping that will help his side avenge the 1-0 defeat suffered in the same fixture last year, despite being without the club’s record goal scorer Domenico Berardi.
Team news: Juventus (3-5-2): Buffon; Benatia, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Khedira, Lemina, Pjanic, Alex Sandro; Dybala, Higuain
Massimiliano Allegri makes four changes from the Juventus side that beat Lazio last time out, with Leonardo Bonnuci and Stephan Lichtsteiner returning to the side, alongside Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain who make their first league starts since joining the club in the summer.
Eusebio Di Francesco makes three changes to his Sassuolo side, with Luca Antei, Lorenzo Pelligrini and Alessandro Matri all coming into the side in place of Paolo Cannavaro, Gregorie Defrel and Domenico Berardi who are all unavailable.
Half-time! Juventus 3-1 Sassuolo.
Juventus made a wonderful start and found themselves 3-0 up inside the first half an hour thanks to a goal from Pjanic and a brace from Higuain, but Sassuolo responded through a fortunate goal from Luca Antei and grew in confidence following the goal.
Eusebio Di Francesco will be hoping his side can get another goal early in the second half to really unsettle Juventus, while his opposite number Massimiliano Allegri will be looking for his side to make a similar start to the second half as they did in the first, to really take the game away from Sassuolo.
Full-time! Juventus 3-1 Sassuolo.
A goalless second half sees Juventus take all three points thanks to two goals from Gonzalo Higuain and one from Miralem Pjanic. Luca Antei pulled one back to give Sassuolo hope but they rarely threatened in the second half, and had goalkeeper Andrea Consigli to thank for keeping the score at 3-1.
That's all from us all here at Juventus Stadium, thanks for joning us and we hope you'll be able to join us again soon.
