Nice's counter-attack is desperate down that right wing but a challenge from Upamecano sees him booked and a free kick for the French.
90'
Into injury time now. Can Nice pull a rabbit out of a hat or is it too late? Soriano shows some fancy footwork for Salzburg but is unable to put the ball away and the game with it for good.
89'
M. Balotelli gets yellow.
It's a yellow card for Balotelli as his challnge on Miranda for a high ball sees his boot connect with the Salzburg player's face.
88'
Souquet clears the ball near his own line for a corner. Time running out for Nice as Salzburg look to press their advantage and run the clock down.
85'
For those interested, Schalke have a two goal lead against Krasnodar tonight elsewhere in Group I. Victory for the unbeaten German outfit would seem them reach the top with twelve points - whilst, if Salzburg deny Nice here, they will give themselves a great chance of getting to the knockout stage.
83'
Soriano enters the game and replaces M. Dabbur.
Substitution Munas Dabbur Jonatan Soriano Casas
The wind has been taken out of Nice's sails - and they're flagging somewhat, as a mistimed pass gives Hweng another chance to roll towards their net. They defend, but narrowly.
81'
Miranda launches a superb tackle upon Nice substitute Donis to deny him a chance of crossing the ball into the Salzburg net. The Brazillian has been fairly quiet tonight for the visitors - but he's still been workmanlike, if under the radar.
78'
A. Donis enters the game and replaces W. Cyprien.
Substitution Wylan Cyprien Anastasios Donis
77'
Balotelli moves down field in pursuit of a long ball but Walke is there to stop any advance. Nice will have to find something magical now if they want to salvage a point.

Description
76'
R. Walter enters the game and replaces J. Seri.
S. Lainer enters the game and replaces M. Rzatkowski.
Substitution Marc Rzatkowski Stefan Lainer
Substitution Jean Michaël Seri Rémi Walter
75'
Nice are in shock. It's no surprise, perhaps; Salzburg have been the stronger of the two sides tonight, though only by fine margins. They've shut down Balotelli for the most part and now have deservedly taken the lead with not one but two goals from Hwang. It's a scoreline that is perhaps harsh to the hosts but it should take nothing away from the Austrian outfit.
73'
Hwang Hee-Chan has scored a goal for Salzburg! Assist by J. Radošević.
ANOTHER GOAL FOR SALZBURG! Hwang makes it two goals in a row, as he takes another beautiful pass from Radosevic on the left, takes it to his chest, turns and scrambles it into the lower left corner round the edge of Sarr and Cardinale. What a few minutes! Nice 0-2 Salzburg!
72'
Hwang Hee-Chan has scored a goal for Salzburg! Assist by M. Dabbur.
GOAL FOR SALZBURG! The Austrian outfit break the deadlock through substitute Hee-Chan Hwang, who comes onto a beautiful floated ball from Dabbur on that left wing and conencts with his head. Nice 0-1 Salzburg!
71'
V. Eysseric enters the game and replaces A. Pléa.
Substitution Alassane Plea Valentin Eysseric
70'
Rzatkowski's kick down field, in pursuit of Dabbur, is pulled back for offside.
68'
Dabbur appeals for a penalty as he goes down on the edge of the box when Cardinale comes across to stop him - but the referee waves it off.
66'
A flying save from Cardinale! He reaches high to tip Rzatkowski's free kick away and over the bar. The corner comes to nothing and Nice get away without concession.
65'
A free kick now for Salzburg just to the right of the penalty box...
63'
V. Koziello gets yellow.
Close for Nice! Balotelli strikes a brilliant free-kick from thirty-five yards out, which slips straight through the heads of the Salzburg wall. Walke drops to catch it and makes a great save. There's a feeling that a goal is on the way, but who for?
A yellow card for Koziello for the foul that lead to that free kick too.
62'
Hwang Hee-Chan enters the game and replaces F. Gulbrandsen.
Substitution Fredrik Gulbrandsen Hee-Chan Hwang
60'
Souquet once again finds himself in open space on the right wing, but his rocket of a cross is blocked by flying defence from Upamecano.
58'
Plea flies down the right hand channel for Nice; however, he can't get his shot away as Salzburg close him down. They keep the game goalless.
56'
Salzburg make a frantic effort to clear the ball from their box as the looming spectre of Balotelli suddenly appears in their midst. The Italian is growing into the game this second half. A Belhanda cross can't find him or Plea though and the Austrians survive.
54'
K. Laimer gets yellow.
It's a yellow card for Laimer, who misses the next match after he pulls at the shirt of a Nice player.
52'
Souquet takes delivery of a fast ball floated across to him on the right wing, but his attempted lob across the box misses Balotelli and drifts out.
50'
Dabbur slides into the box in the hope of picking up a low ball from his wingman and injures himself in the process. He seems to be shaking it off, but he caught his leg at an odd angle as he went in.
48'
Nice win themselves a corner on their left from a rebound. They float it into the box, and after a mad scramble, Gulbrandsen is able to come away with it - just about.
46'
Salzburg get us underway for the second half.
45'
Heading into injury time now, and Radosevic is caught for a late challenge on Koziello that gives Nice a free-kick in their own half.
43'
Back-to-back fouls - one apiece - as tensions start to boil over a little. Salzburg try moving it down their left again but Nice are quick to defend - and earn the throw, though nothing really comes of it.
41'
Dabbur strikes a beauty of a shot that's tipped away by a dive from Cardinale. It's probably the most troubled either man in goal has been tonight.
38'
Down the other end, a half-volley chance from Nice comes to nothing - Walke is too cunning to let such moves fool him. Salzburg look a little deflated though.
37'
And it comes to nothing. The ball is cleared back to Rzatkowski who floats it back into the box again, but Dabbur can't quite connect and the ball goes wide and above.
36'
Now a free kick for Salzburg, on their left hand side, about thirty yards out. Wisdom is up into the Nice box from the defence. Rzatkowski will take...
34'
Souquet concedes a throw-in deep in Nice territory - can Salzburg push forward and get a goal before half-time? They've had more chances - fractionally.
32'
Nice are penalised in the Salzburg box for a foul after Balotelli's kick found nobody. Salzburg now on the counter-attack once more, going down those wings where the defence is shallow.
30'
Balotelli is brought down on the right hand edge of the Salzbug box by Rzatkowski. Can Nice make something of the free kick here?
28'
Nice now showing echoes of that Salzburg defence from the opening quarter - the French team are happy to play the ball around the back. They get it up to Balotelli on the left, but a well-placed tackle denies him any chance to capitalise.
26'
Salzburg starting to play a more counter-attacking brand of football now. They've looked for the cracks in the defence - mainly down the channels on the edge where Nice have only a three-man midfield - and are looking to put that overlap to good use.
24'
Down the other end now, Nice go close - but the connection Plea makes is not one that will concern the keeper Walke and Salzburg are untroubled.
22'
Close for Salzburg! They play it across the box and Laimer gets it to Dabbur whose left footed volley is met by the legs of a Nice defender. The French team breathe easy.
20'
Yet is now, as Balotelli lets loose with a shot along the floor from the left channel, after he cuts inside two Salzburg defenders. It's wide - quite wide - but it is a potent reminder to the Austrian team that they do not leave the former Manchester City man with room to operate his maverick brand of football.
18'
Balotelli is the danger man for Nice - and indeed on the pitch right now. But the French outfit can't back up his attack prong. Yet. The key word here is yet.
16'
Nice shift it downfield through Koziello and Plea poaches the ball in the box. He can't keep hold of it though and Salzburg come away from their line intact.
14'
Again, Salzburg have reverted to simply probing the Nice defence. The French outfit are starting to venture forward though - can they deliver a breakthrough?
12'
A touch of scrappy defending from Salzburg as Balotelli and Belhanda get up and in their faces. It's the first signs of nerves from Salzburg - but they counter magnificently, heading down the left channel and earning a shot on goal from Gulbrandsen that is defused by Cardinale.
10'
Balotelli brings down Rzatkowski, who earns a free-kick. Again, Salzburg choose to play it around their midfield and defence, frustrating Nice with their refusal to go for an all-out assault.
8'
So far in, Salzburg appear the more confident of the two sides - they're willing to play it around quite a bit in their defence before shifting it towards Laimer and Lazaro. Still no real threat though.
6'
No real tests for either defence yet - both teams are probing each other in a similar showing to that of two weeks ago, a cautious examination of the state of the back four.
3'
Salzburg get a throw in and Upamecano plays it around the back four before they try to advance in downfield on the left with a floating pass towards Lazaro. It comes to nothing, however.
2'
Nice try to test Salzburg's defence early on but the Austrian outfit hold firm, untroubled by Balotelli's creeping runs down the middle in search of a ball.
1'
KICK-OFF: Nice get us underway.
Salzburg deep into Nice territory with a throw now, which Wisdom takes. It comes to nothing however as Upamecano fouls Balotelli and brings the Italian down.
Good evening and welcome to live text coverage of the Europa League Group I clash between Nice and Salzburg at the Allianz Riviera. The current Ligue 1 table-toppers will be looking to carry across their league form to tonight's international clash as they look to secure a vital three points in the hunt for a place in the knockout stages. Their opponents - the only pointless team in a group that also includes Schalke and Krasnodar - lost the reverse fixture at home a fortnight ago; but they will be looking to back up two victories in the Austrian Football Bundesliga as they aim to lift themselves off the foot of the table.
It's been a good year for Nice in the domestic competitions of France - they've improved upon a fourth-placed finish last season to reach the top of the table after eleven rounds, with nine wins and two draws. They're the only unbeaten team in Ligue 1 - and are six points ahead of closest rival Monaco to boot. Much of their fortune can be laid at the feet of one Mario Balotelli - the Italian has six goals to his name this season since he arrived from Liverpool on a free transfer, including one in the Europa League. The French outfit will be hoping that his keen-footed strike can propel them to victory tonight in the chase for a knockout place.
As for Salzburg, the Austrian champions struggled to find their footing in the early stages of their domestic season - four points from a possible nine over their first three fixtures - but they have since rallied to reach third in the table, trailing Sturm Graz and Rheindorf Altach. One oddly English name jumps out on the team sheet - defender and Yorkshireman Andre Wisdom, the former Derby County man who is on loan from Liverpool and making only his fourth appearance of the season. He'll be hoping to make a good impression tonight in front of manager Oscar Garcia.
Teams are heading out now at the Allianz Riviera, to a dry French south coast night. Kick off is only moments away...
HALF TIME: NICE 0-0 SALZBURG
A half where both teams seemed content to probe each other for twenty-five minutes before they both - Salzburg in particular - started to try and exploit the cracks. Neither are successful so far though - which sets up a tasty final forty-five minutes.
FULL TIME: NICE 0-2 SALZBURG (Hwang 72, 73)
It was the boot of one Hee-Chan Hwang who gave Salzburg a fine victory in an otherwise tight game low on explosive action but full of tense back-and-forth in the south of France. They overhaul Nice and move to third - equal on points, but with a superior goal difference - in Group I and set the race for the knockout stages truly alive. With Schalke winning 2-0 against Krasnodar, the German outfit are likely to qualify, but who will fill that final berth?
