FOUR minutes of added time have been allocated by the referee here which gives the Ireland fans one last cause for cheer as they hope the win can still happen. If there is indeed a winner in this, it looks like it will be the Boys in Green in dramatic, late fashion.
90' +1
A. McGeady gets yellow.
McGeady is shown a yellow card now for running up to the referee to complain about a decision. You can see his point, actually...
89'
Ireland are still bombing forward to try and find the winning goal but the Wales defence has proved pretty sturdy up until this point. A criticism of O'Neill's men is that they haven't really took advantage too much of the fact that Taylor was sent off with plenty of time to go in the second period.
87'
Ramsey stands over a corner-kick down the left and steps to swing a decent delivery into the centre of the box. Ireland have everyone back, but Bale still manages to get on the end of it, even if the subsequent header on goal is sent fairly comfortably wide of the left-hand post.
85'
BAAAAALE! INCHES WIDE! Wales almost steal the three points as the Blancos winger goes on a marauding run down the right before cutting inside on that left foot. He attempts to pick out a precise, curled shot to the top corner but the attempt flashes JUST the wrong side of the post.
83'
The Aviva Stadium faithful are demanding Bale be shown a second yellow card here as he goes in a bit late on McClean with a raised foot in the middle of the park. There wasn't a lot of intent in the altercation, though, and the referee makes the correct decision in not punishing Bale, even if he should have saw red earlier in the match.
81'
With every minute that creeps by, Ireland lose the chance to maintain their lead at the top of the group with the three points. Before the match, due to their plethora of injuries, they probably would have accepted the draw, but with the man advantage and the ascendancy now behind them, they want this win.
80'
A. McGeady enters the game and replaces D. Meyler.
79'
Another change from O'Neill in the dugout and it is a positive one for the former Celtic boss as he introduces former Hoops player, Aiden McGeady, in place of Meyler.
77'
McClean opens up his considerable stride down that left wing as Ireland launch the massive counter following a Wales corner. The cross is eventually swung in to be cleared, only for Whelan to collect and send another delivery to the back post, but Long can't gain an inch or two to get enough purchase on the attempted header.

Description
75'
Fifteen minutes to go in this World Cup Qualifier, which has all-of-a-sudden burst into life after that truly horrific injury to Coleman. After the sense of tragedy among the ranks of Ireland, they are trying to use this to spur them on to a vital victory, while Wales would take a point right now.
73'
Wales make their second change of proceedings as Jazz Richards comes on for Ledley.
72'
C. Christie enters the game and replaces S. Coleman.
J. Richards enters the game and replaces J. Ledley.
Coleman comes off to be replaced by Cyrus Christie.
71'
This does not look good for Coleman here as it appears he has suffered a very serious injury. The Everton man is just receiving treatment on the pitch, including oxygen, and we are going to have a bit of a break for a couple of minutes.
69'
N. Taylor goes off after a red card!
TAYLOR IS SENT OFF FOR WALES! He puts his side down to 10 men after taking out Coleman with an absolutely SHOCKING tackle!
68'
G. Bale gets yellow.
Wales should absolutely be down to 10 men here as Bale, in his attempts to get on the end of a cross at the front post, comes completely through O'Shea. He actually catches him just below the knee, so that is definitely a dismissal. He is lucky to get away with just a yellow.
66'
The first 20 minutes of this half have already been miles better than the opening 45 minutes as both sides are actually showing something going forward now. Coleman will be the happier boss in the dugout as again Wales have started to dominate possession again, but Ireland can take heart from that decent little period a few minutes back.
64'
Dear, oh, dear, Neil Taylor. Someone needs to teach the former Swansea man how to actually control the a football as AGAIN he lets a promising Wales move come to nothing by allowing the ball to simply bounce off him rather than taking possession in to feet.
62'
Much, much better from Ireland in the past couple of minutes after a strong start to the half from Wales. The Boys in Green manage to trouble the Welsh goal with another attempt on goal, this time from a Shane Long volley from 20 yards, but the connection isn't really there as the strike fumbles wide. Positive signs, though.
60'
Ireland are awarded a rare corner-kick down the left, which will be taken by the patched up Whelan. The cross is sent ominously into the box and Keogh manages to get on the end of it, but can't sort his feet out in time and ends up awkwardly kneeing an attempt wide.
58'
While Whelan receives treatment, free-kick duties are put to McClean. The West Brom forward does his best Cristiano Ronaldo stance before stepping up to drive a strike on goal, but the attempt ends up slamming into the Wales wall as the visitors eventually get the free-kick for the offside call.
56'
A. Ramsey gets yellow.
Ramsey sees yellow for his trouble.
A small break in play at the moment as Whelan is currently receiving treatment for a bloodied forehead after a knock from Ramsey. There wasn't a great deal of intent from the high boot of the Arsenal man, but he did catch the Irishman in a painful area just above the eye.
54'
Ramsey picks up the ball in a cracking position on the edge of the Ireland box and cuts inside past his marker before deciding to pull the trigger. The pass inside to Bale would have been the better choice, though, as the attempt is weakly sent into the arms of Randolph on the floor.
52'
A decent bit of build-up play involving Bale, Ramsey, and Gunter eventually sees the wing-back bomb into the channel before teasing a cross to the back post. However, like the first period, it falls to the wrong man in Taylor who can't direct a header on target from 12 yards.
50'
BALE! HOW CLOSE WAS THAT?! By the looks of the start of the second period, the Welshman is looking to take the game by the scruff of the neck now as he has his second strike on goal in as many minutes. This one is an emphatically-struck shot from the left channel from about 35 yards out, but Randolph breathes a sigh of relief as it whizzes by the right-hand post.
48'
Success! We finally have our first shot on target! It comes from Bale as the former Tottenham man whips a dipping free-kick up and over the wall from all of 30 yards, but it ends up going straight down the throat of Randolph between the sticks for Ireland.
46'
S. Vokes enters the game and replaces H. Robson-Kanu.
D. Meyler gets yellow.
Half-time change from Chris Coleman as Robson-Kanu makes way for Sam Vokes.
We are back under way in Dublin.
An early booking here and it goes to Meyler.
43'
At the moment, the Ireland and Wales fans are having more fun trying to out-sing each other rather than watch this dismal action on the pitch. Meanwhile, Allen and Whelan, who are team-mates at Stoke, get into an altercation in the middle of the pitch which is quickly defused by the referee.
41'
Much better from Bale this time as he cleverly flicks possession back into the path of Gunter down the right wing. The Wales full-back decides against going for the quick cross, instead opting to cut back inside, but the subsequent pass in for Ramsey is actually at chest-height, leaving the Arsenal man unable to take the ball in. What was he meant to do with that?
39'
Bale is showing real signs of frustration out there now and is starting to do most things himself in the final third. On this occasion, with a few team-mates better placed, he pulls the trigger from range only for the attempt to flash well wide of the left-hand post. Why not?
37'
A slip from Ward down the left wing opens up the door for Wales to counter at pace. Ramsey leads the charge into the flank and then whips a pass into the feet of Bale, but an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration from the Real Madrid man sees possession go loose for Ireland to collect. A poor end to a promising move.
35'
Ten minutes to go in the first half as this game looks destined to end at a 0-0 stalemate. There is plenty of time for things to change and improve, obviously, but both sets of players need a kick up the backside. Wales more than Ireland, as a draw would be a good result for the hosts considering their injury crisis.
33'
The crowd are actually trying to catalyse something, anything out there by starting some loud chanting. A trumpet is even involved, but at this rate we may need the London Philharmonic Orchestra to inspire any kind of quality out on that pitch.
31'
The Ireland fans are finally given something to get out of their seats about as Bale goes on a signature marauding run down the right wing, only to be commandingly dispossessed by Ward who comes in with the superb tackle. The Boys in Green liked that one!
29'
Passing goes back and forth along the backlines without too much penetration, and the play has actually succeeded in curbing the noise in the stadium from the start of the game which was previously defeaning.
27'
Unclear at this point whether it is nerves or simply a lack of quality, but neither goalkeeper has been tested at all between the sticks apart from a couple of crosses to collect here and there. With vital points on the line, we need to see some quality at some point surely?
25'
Bale hugs the right touchline to receive the ball to feet before drifting inside past a couple of attempted tackles. He subsequently picks out an absolutely gorgeous pass up and round the Ireland defence for the onrushing Taylor who has made a great run in behind, but the latter's touch is desperately poor and the chance goes begging.
23'
Could be an issue for Wales here as it appears that Ramsey may be nursing some kind of injury. Reports are coming through that it may be a dead leg, but the Arsenal man is continuing for the moment.
21'
Walters has been deployed down the right wing tonight but has been given license to support Long whenever he can. However, he has been called as offside a couple of times in the past few minutes when he really didn't need to be, so must look along the line better.
19'
Having said that, the visitors are fairly static in their short passing in the final third. Whenever Ledley or Ramsey get the ball in those central areas they are guilty of being a bit ponderous, but they need movement ahead of them too of course.
17'
One tactic which is definitely being implemented by Wales here is trying to send searching balls over the top of the Ireland defence for Bale and Robson-Kanu. Ireland don't have the most mobile centre-back pairing in O'Shea and Keogh, so this could be a source of joy for Coleman's men.
15'
Ramsey ghosts in unmarked at the back post and just manages to stretch up and prevent the ball from going out, sending a header back into the danger area in the process. Robson-Kanu looks poised to pull the trigger on the loose bit of possession, but O'Shea gets there first to clear up the park.
13'
Not a lot of quality in these early stages in terms of possession as everything is a bit blood and thunder, as matches between nations from the British isles tend to be. However, there are of course talented players out there and if the likes of Bale can get on the ball we might see some creativity.
11'
Ireland get the free-kick in the middle of the park and it is Whelan who is tasked with the delivery. However, it is desperately disappointing from the Stoke midfielder as he ends up floating a cross well away from any of his team-mates inside the area, who are forced to retreat back into positions. Poor.
9'
We get our first real glimpse of Bale as the Real Madrid man bursts down the left flank with pace before eventually hitting the byline. He sends a teasing cross to the back post, but only Robson-Kanu is there inside the box for Wales which makes it easier for Ireland to usher the delivery away from danger.
7'
Wales have probably been the most assured side in possession so far as they patiently make their way into the final third. With Ireland having so many injuries, including McCarthy who was ruled out moments before kick-off, it may just take them a little while to find their cohesion in amongst themselves.
5'
We are five minutes into the match now, and as such everyone in the stadium stands and applauds the memory of Derry City player, Ryan McBride, who sadly lost his life last week at a young age. Ireland and Wales fans both joining in which is nice to see. Such a tragic incident.
3'
A predictably high-tempo start to proceedings here as both sets of fans urge their players to power forward for the opener. The atmosphere really is fantastic inside the Aviva tonight, but can the Boys in Green in the stands inspire their players to a vital victory?
1'
We are under way at the Aviva Stadium!
Ireland have made a blistering start to their qualification campaign and are currently situated top of the group with 10 points taken from their opening four matches. Indeed, if they can secure all three points tonight, it will be their most positive start to a qualifying group in 22 years since they got 13 points at this stage in the matches preceding Euro 96.
Good evening football fans! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the World Cup Qualifying Group D encounter between the Republic of Ireland and Wales from the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Wales, meanwhile, have been unable to channel the same performances which took them so far in the European Championships during the summer, and are down in third with six points, having won one and drawn three so far. With only the group winners guaranteed a place at the World Cup in Russia, they really need to get something in this clash.
TEAM NEWS...
Perhaps surprisingly considering their geographical locations, this is actually a rare fixture between Ireland and Wales. They have only faced each other in two competitive matches before today, with the last coming 10 years ago in a 2-2 draw at the Millennium Stadium during qualification for Euro 2008.
Unfortunately for Ireland, McCarthy has picked up an injury in the warm-up, and he will be replaced in the starting XI by David Meyler.
The teams are making their way to the pitch and we are ready for the national anthems!
Half-time at the Aviva as Ireland and Wales go into the break at 0-0. No meaningful chances created as of yet. The second half can only get better, surely?
Full-time at the Aviva Stadium. A 0-0 draw between Ireland and Wales in World Cup Qualifying Group D has arguably been overshadowed by a horrific injury to Coleman following an awful tackle by Taylor. The points are shared as Martin O'Neill's men maintain their status at the towards the top of the group. Thanks for joining us, see you next time.
