Dortmund are pushing hard for another, but aside from a chance for Castro at the near post, it looks like there won't be a dramatic comeback for the hosts.
88'
Marc Bartra has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by G. Castro.
Castro gets the assist, but Pulisic made that goal out of nothing with some incredible skills!
GOAL! Dortmund pull one back! It's just a consolation, but it's a sensational goal! Pulisic looks trapped in the corner with two, but he pulls out the skills, nutmegging Robben before playing it back to Castro. He finds Bartra just inside the box, and the centre-half curls a sumptuous effort into the back of the net! It's 3-1!
84'
A. Vidal enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Vidal comes on for James as Heynckes looks to just see the game out. He will drop in alongside Rudy, while Thiago pushes up behind Lewandowski. The referee, however, is fit enough to continue and stays on.
83'
The physios are on, but for an injury to the referee! He blows up for a foul, before stopping the ball and then clutching his calf! Odd scenes, and it looks like he may have to be replaced!
81'
S. Rudy enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Martínez limps off and is replaced by Rudy in midfield.
80'
J. Sancho enters the game and replaces A. Yarmolenko.
Yarmolenko leaves the field, and will feel that he should have a goal to his name tonight. He's replaced by one-time Manchester City youngster Sancho on the wing.
79'
Gotze's attempted shot is blocked, before Dortmund's attack breaks down for offside.
75'
Javi Martínez gets yellow.
Martínez slides in on Weigl and gets a yellow.
74'
Rafinha enters the game and replaces D. Alaba.
Alaba's night is now over. With the game wrapped up, Heynckes doesn't need to take any risks with his star left-back. Right-back Rafinha takes his place.
72'
Alaba is down clutching his hamstring, but after some treatment, it seems like he can continue.
Minute
Description
68'
M. Götze enters the game and replaces S. Kagawa.
The sprightly Kagawa is replaced by one-time Bayern player Götze.
67'
D. Alaba has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
GOAL! It's 3-0! Alaba whips a ball into the box, and Lewandowski slides in and perhaps gets the slightest of touches on it. Burki can't keep it out, despite getting a touch, and James follows it in, but doesn't touch it, and it nestles in the bottom corner! Bayern are almost certainly out of sight now.
Despite many replays, it's still unclear as to who the goal actually belongs to. Both Alaba and Lewandowski may well try and claim it though!
66'
CHANCE! Dortmund work the ball well, but Kagawa is closed down quickly and his shot is charged down.
65'
D. Alaba gets yellow.
Alaba is booked for a clumsy tackle on the flank.
CHANCE! Lewandowski gets beyond his man on the right, but flashes his shot across goal and wide! That could well have been 3-0 there!
64'
Weigl plays a long ball voer the top to nobody, and it bounces out for a goal kick. They just haven't clicked recently, they can't find their rhythm.
62'
Dortmund play a loose ball out towards the forwards and Bayern get it straight back. The hosts are really struggling to get out of their half at the moment.
61'
Aubameyang really doesn't look at the races. Sule is hardly challenged as he shepherds the ball back to his goalkeeper, and Kagawa behind him is the man doing all the pressing.
59'
There is a hefty collision between James and Toprak. The latter goes in hard and James ends up landing on top of his aggressor. Toprak is shown a yellow card for dangerous play.
58'
Ö. Toprak gets yellow.
55'
Robben cuts inside and tries to fire one at goal, but it's blocked away. At the other end of the pitch, Aubameyang looks somewhat disinterested, and isn't streching the game with his pace, nor is he really pressing and closing down Bayern's defenders. His side need more from him right now.
54'
Bayern keep a solid shape as Dortmund try to break them down, before Kimmich tries to head a long ball back to Ulreich, but gets it wrong and concedes a corner. It comes to nothing, though.
51'
Pulisic races through towards the byline, and his cross is blocked by the leg of Ulreich, but the flag is raised as the ball is judged to have gone out of play.
49'
CHANCE! Aubameyang stabs a low Pulisic cross towards goal, but Alaba is on hand to make a goal-line clearance, before Schmelzer's low cross is turned narrowly wide of the near post.
48'
CHANCE! What a save from Burki! Lewandowski powers a header down from six yards out, but Burki somehow manages to keep it out!
47'
Dortmund start really positively, and Yarmolenko ins a corner off of Martinez. It's cleared, but only as far as Toljan, whose long range effort has Ulreich mildly interested, but it's clearly over the bar.
46'
And we're back underway as Dortmund get the second half rolling!
45'
Schmelzer tries to loft one in for Aubameyang, but the striker is underneath it and Ulriech can collect.
44'
CHANCE! Dortmund need to start taking these! Yarmolenko gets a sight of goal on the right, but, once again, he hesitates for a fraction of a second, allowing Martinez to make a brilliant block.
42'
J. Toljan enters the game and replaces S. Papastathopoulos.
And it's more bad news for Dortmund as it seems that collision with Coman is going to force Sokratis off now. He was a real presence at the heart of defence, and was having a great game until the injury. Toljan comes on in his place and goes out to right-back, while Bartra steps into the centre.
37'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Kimmich.
GOAL! What a finish by Lewandowski! That's what he can do! Kimmich drives the ball in from the right, and it's a little behind the striker, but he improvises brilliantly with a back-heel and finds the net via a deflection off of Weigl! Great creativity there from the striker, and Sokratis' temporary absence there may well have played its part! It's 2-0 to Bayern now!
Kimmich got forward well down the right and fizzed a low cross into the box. It was a little behind Lewandowski, but he's talented enough to make the best of the service he's given in the box.
36'
Bayern win a corner as Coman races down the left, but it doesn't beat the first man. Sokratis is off being treated as well, as he collided with Coman in conceding the corner, so Dortmund are temporarily a man down.
34'
CHANCE! Yet another chance! Lewandowski can run in behind, but he delays his shot for too long and Dortmund regroup around him. Despite having five men on him, he holds it up well, but no support arrives and he loses the ball. He really needed to release his shot earlier then. He's looked a little off the pace so far.
32'
CHANCE! So close for Dortmund! The chances are coming thick and fast now! Kagawa shows great skill to cut inside Alaba, and his left-footed drive leaves Ulreich flat-footed, but it just kisses the post on its way wide!
31'
CHANCE! Lewandowski is played through on the right, but his powerful effort is straight at Burki, and is tipped over the bar!
30'
CHANCE! What a chance for Dortmund! Yarmolenko gets all the way through the Byaern defence, but his shot is saved by Ulreich when he seemed certain to score! Bartra's follow-up cross is overhit too, and the chance goes begging!
29'
The challenges are still flying in, as Weigl crashes into Lewandowski. Yarmolenko and Bartra then very nearly combine to send Aubameyang through, but it's just intercepted.
26'
Robben sends Lewandowski through, but it's that man Sokratis again who holds him up, and the striker can't trick his way past and lsoes the ball. Bayern win it back again though, and Alaba whips a teasing ball into the box for Lewandowski, but Burki is out well to catch it.
24'
Yarmolenko is found in miles of space by a long ball, but the flag is up for offside. Replays show that he very nearly timed his run to perfection though, and it would have been an incredible opportunity if he had!
23'
A couple of challenges fly in, but Hummels - another former Dortmund man - is penalised for fouling Kagawa.
22'
CHANCE! Pulisic gest away down the left, but he can't get past Sule, who has had a great showing so far!
21'
CHANCE! Kimmich can't quite get onto the ball at the back post, and James fires the follow-up into a Dortmund body. Coman then tries to cut in from the left, but there's no room for him to work in.
20'
Bayern look really up for this and very confident, especially since the goal. They're knocking it about really well now.
18'
CHANCE! A cross is flashed across the Dortmund goal that Burki flaps at, but there's nobody ina red shirt to capitalise! Dortmund get away with that one!
17'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
16'
CHANCE! A superb ball is played through for Lewandowski, who looks like he's clear in behind the defence, but Sokratis gets back to make a sensational sliding challenge!
James did well to hold the ball up and feed Robben in the box, and his team-mate duly delivered with an excellent finish!
GOAL! Bayern take the lead, an it's a superb strike by Robben! James takes it down at the back post froma left-wing cross and feeds the Dutchman in the box, who takes one touch out of his feet and rifles it into the top-left corner with his second! Bayern lead 1-0!
14'
Coman can't quite jink past his man, and concedes a throw in. The young Frenchman is annoyed with himself, but is determined to have a good go at former Barcelona defender Bartra.
13'
This is already a very feisty affair! Another challenge flies in, and the referee awards Bayern a free-kick.
12'
CHANCE! The first real chance of the game falls Dortmund's way, as Sokratis sends long ball forward rfor Aubameyang to chase, but Sule is across really well to slide in and block his shot!
11'
The Polish striker is the latest to be unhappy with the referee and remonstrates with him - but to no avail.
10'
Coman does well to carry the ball down the left, and plays it into Lewandowski. However, with his back to goal, the striker is crowded out and loses it.
9'
M. Schmelzer gets yellow.
Schmelzer is furious as he receives a yellow card for leading with his elbow as he jumped for a high ball with Kimmich. He can't really have too many complaints though - it was clearly a foul.
6'
Bartra, who has been used as an auxilliary right-back recently, does really well to shield the ball out of play uner close attention from Coman. He's a very capable defender, but Coman may fancy his chances with his pace down that flank.
4'
Bayern step out and enjoy a spell of possession, but it comes to nothing and Dortmund win it back. Bartra can't keep it in down the touchline, and Alaba isn't happy about the length of time he takes to give the ball back. You can always expect a bit of spice in this fixture.
2'
Dortmund press high early on, and Pulisic gets the ball in the Bayern box, but it's so congested in there and he can't turn to get a shot away, before the move breaks down.
1'
And this incredible fixture is underway, with Bayern kicking us off!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Der Klassiker! It's the first Bundesliga Klassiker of the season as Borussia Dortmund host Bayern Munich at Signal Iduna Park.
The line-ups have been announced, and we'll start with the home side.
Robert Lewandowski returns after missing the game against Celtic, having picked up a muscle strain in the win against RB Leipzig. He has scored eight times in 12 games for Bayern against his old club. The hosts are still without Thomas Muller, who has just returned to training following a hamstring issue.
The two sides met at the start of the season to contest the German Supercup, with Bayern Munich eventually victorious via a penalty shootout, with the scores locked at 2-2 at the end of extra-time. Marc Bartra missed the decisive penalty in that game to hand Bayern the trophy.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have been resurgent since Jupp Heynckes' return, and their strong run of form has seen them wrest first place off today's visitors. They went unbeaten in October, and have won their last five games in a row in all competitions. In fact, they have only lost twice this season - a shock 2-0 defeat away at Hoffenheim in the league at the start of September, and a 3-0 dismantling by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League - a result that cost Carlo Ancelotti his job.
Dortmund have fallen away after a sensational start that saw them top the Bundesliga table. No wins in the either the league or the Champions League since a 2-1 win over Augsburg in September (D3 L2) has cost them top spot in the Bundesliga and will most likely see them exit the Champions League at the group stage, dropping into the Europa League.
Dortmund are enduring their worst patch of form since the 2014/15 season, with just one point from their last three league games, conceding nine in the process. And they suffered disappointing results last time out in both the league and in Europe, losing 4-2 to Hannover before drawing 1-1 with APOEL Nicosia. They will look to joint-top scorer Piere-Emerick Aubameyang for inspiriation today - he has 10 goals to his name so far this season, level with Lewandowski. The pair have scored 202 goals between them in the time they have both been playing in the Bundesliga (since 2013). Lewandowski has 107 goals to his name, while Aubameyang has 95.
Der Klassiker is always a thrilling fixture, and these two clubs have been the dominant forces in Germany in recent years. Since 2009, Bayern and Dortmund have picked up 14 of the 16 available domestic titles between them.
Jupp Heynckes has become the first Bayern coach to keep a clean sheet in each of his opening three games, and his last game in charge of the club was in the 2012/13 Champions League final against today's opposition. He has also not lost any of his last 28 games as a Bundesliga coach (W24 D4), and has won 19 of his last 20 – the only exception being a 1-1 draw in Dortmund.
Peter Bosz makes three changes from the side that lost to Hannover. Gotze and Sahin are replaced by Kagawa and Weigl in midfield, while Toprak for Zagadou is an enforced change at centre-back, the latter seeing a red card in that defeat.
Heynckes makes two changes from the side that beat RB Leipzig, with young defender Niklas Sule getting the nod over Jerome Boateng at centre-half, while Kingsley Coman replaces Sebastian Rudy in a positive change, with Thiago dropping back into midfield, James playing as the no. 10 and Coman lining up on the left wing.
And that's half-time! Both teams have gone for it in a feisty affair, but Bayern lead 2-0 at the break courtesy of great goals from Robben and Lewandowski. Robben fired into the top corner from a James knockdown, before Lewandowski cleverly backheeled in the second from a Kimmich cross via a deflection off Weigl. Sokratis was off the pitch during the second goal, and had to be replaced after picking up an injury in blocking a Coman cross. Bayern have certainly had the better of this first half, but Dortmund have had chances too. Yarmolenko twice failed to finish from promising positions, while Kagawa's brilliant work saw a left-footed drive just skim past the post with Ulreich beaten! It's 2-0 to Bayern at the break, but it's not over just yet!
And there we have it! A thrilling Klassiker finishes 3-1 to Bayern Munich! Robben opened the scoring with a lovely effort into the top corner from James' knockdown in the box, before Lewandowski doubled their advantage with a brilliant improvised finish, back-heeling home via a deflection. Sokratis' injury was a big blow for the hosts, and in the second half, Alaba's exceptional delivery caused all kinds of problems for the Dortmund defence, eventually nestling in the bottom corner for 3-0. Pulisic's magic feet and Bartra's curling strike pulled one back for Dortmund right at the end, but they were well beaten in truth. It finishes 3-1 to Bayern Munich!
