61'
A great chance goes begging for Bayern. Rodriguez turns provider as he chips the ball into the box for Muller. The German forward is very central, but opts to try and chip it towards Lewandowski instead, getting too much lift on the ball and seeing it bounce out of play for a goal kick. GOAL! Bayern find the breakthrough and it had been coming. Thomas Muller does brilliantly off balance to get his cross away, which finds Arturo Vidal at the back post. 3'
Bayern with their first real push forward. Hannover are pushed to the edge of their box, where Arturo Vidal swings in a dangerous cross from the right wing towards the front post. Robert Lewandowski cannot quite make enough contact.

The potential pattern of the game emerging early on this afternoon, atleast as far as Hannover are concerned. They are looking to cut the passing lanes as far as the halfway line before launching a counter-attack. No success so far but Bayern will have to be cautious.

Hannover get us underway, kicking left to right.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Bundesliga game between Bayern Munich and Hannover at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern’s defeat at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend ended a run of 10 consecutive wins across all competitions for the Bundesliga champions, and manager Jupp Heynckes will be wary of avoiding any further slip ups with RB Leipzig only three points adrift of them in the table. The Bavarians are aiming for their sixth consecutive Bundesliga title and they certainly have the quality in the side to keep themselves on track for that this afternoon.
Bayern will be missing a few key players through injury for this encounter, as Manuel Neuer (fractured foot), Arjen Robben and Thiago (thigh) remain out. Rafinha, Franck Ribery and David Alaba have all recovered from respective injuries and could potentially feature this afternoon, while Heynckes confirmed during his news conference on Friday that Thomas Muller will start today against Hannover.
Hannover come into their match against the league leaders on the back of a three-game winless run, last tasting victory in the league when they beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2 at home. It took a late penalty from Niclas Fullkrug to rescue a point for Andre Breitenreiter’s side against Stuttgart last weekend and they will be wary of the sizeable task if they are to break that duct against today’s opposition.
Breitenreiter could have the luxury of a fully fit squad to pick from against Bayern this afternoon if his only two potential absentee’s pass late fitness tests. Defender Salif Sane suffered a minor thigh injury during midweek training but is expected to be available this afternoon, whereas forward Martin Harnik has been suffering with the flu and will be assessed this afternoon.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Bayern make four changes from the side that were beaten 2-1 by Monchengladbach last weekend. Jerome Boateng will partner Mats Hummels in defence, while Rafinha returns to the side after recovering from injury to take his place at left-back. Kingsley Coman takes his place on the left wing in place of Corentin Tolisso, while Thomas Muller starts as expected in the number 10 role.
Three changes to the Hannover side from their draw with VfB Stuttgart last weekend. Manuel Schmiedebach replaces Pirmin Schwegier in midfield while Charlison Benschopp and Niclas Fullkrug replace Ihlas Bebou and Martin Harnik in the front-three. Salif Sane and Harnik have both overcome their injury/illness to take their place in the starting line-up and on the bench respectively.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 1-1 HANNOVER 96
An excellent first-half of football but on the balance of play Bayern Munich should have the three points in the bag. A crazy few minutes of football saw a goal disallowed for Bayern before a Hannover penalty, which was scored, was forced to be retaken for encroachment at the other end. The follow up was saved, but Hannover did eventually get the equaliser to Arturo Vidal's header with a well-placed header of their own from Charlison Benschop. Hannover hung on by a thread in the closing stages but they go in at the break level and will need an impressive second half to survive the expected onslaught they are going to face.
The players are coming back out onto the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half. Hannover look set to make a half-time change.
FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 3-1 HANNOVER 96.
The scoreline may suggest a comfortable afternoon for Bayern Munich but it had been anything but that. Hannover refused to go down without a fight even when 3-1 down and they can take a lot away from this performance this afternoon. Arturo Vidal's header gave Bayern the lead before Lewandowski had an effort ruled out for offside. Barely a minute later Ulreich brought down Klaus to concede a penalty. Fullkrug scored, which was ruled out for encroachment, before his second effort was saved by the Bayern keeper. Hannover were completely pegged back in the second half and the Bavarians made their dominance count once again when Coman fired them back in front from close range. Hannover began to push forward for an equaliser but could not find their way beyond the Bayern backline, with Harnik's silly foul on Coman allowing Lewandowski to fire home his seventh consecutive Bundesliga goal at the Allianz arena and secure the three points for the home side. A good performance from Hannover but, in the end, Bayern walk away with all three points and increase their league lead to six points.
