A long ball came into the area and because United are now sat so deep it allowed Rodriguez to get close to goal and he meets it with his head, but the header isn't quite on target. Good chance.

It eventually falls to Barry who fires it into the back of the net from just a yard out. This could make the final few minutes very interesting here.

STAT: David de Gea has kept 24 clean sheets since the start of last season, a figure matched only by Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak in the five major European leagues. He looks well on course to extend that record to 25 here today, with the Baggies not threatening to score.

CHANCE UNITED! Great counter-attack by the visitors, with good work by Lingard and Lukaku. Lingard broke free with the ball and sprinted up the pitch, releasing Lukaku to his right, who then plays a square ball back to his teammate on the edge of the area who takes a first time shot at goal. However, his shot is straight at Foster.
57'
The game has certainly sparked into life in the past few minutes, the crowd are much more lively and trying to get behind their team more, with an improved second half performance, in which you can see they are now tying to go for it.
55'
CHANCE WEST BROM! A great opportunity for the Baggies to pull a goal back but brilliant defending from Valencia denies them. Burke beat Smalling and whipped a good ball into the area, where it was two versus one, with Rondon and McClean sprinting into the space, but Valencia just manages to get their first and divert the danger.

A much brighter start to the second half by West Brom, more urgency and attacking intent already in the opening five minutes or so of the second period. They just need to start playing higher up the pitch and put United under more pressure when in possession.

The centre-back tried to block the shot but ends up diverting it past his goalkeeper who had already moved to his right to make the save. Foster probably would’ve made a good save there, but a stroke of luck for United has seen them make it 2-0.
34'
CHANCE WEST BROM! By far the best opportunity for the hosts of the game! Allan Nyom does terrifically well down the right-wing to beat Young and free up space to fire a low ball into the box, aiming for Rondon at the near post. The striker is well marked by Phil Jones, but Rondon gets a small touch on the ball and a mixture of Jones and De Gea stop it from going in before Valencia thumps it clear.
32'
It will be tough for West Brom now, they haven't seen much of the ball or created any chances but now they are chasing the game, Alan Pardew will need a plan B. Mata and Rashford linked up well down the left-wing, with the latter whipping a good cross into the box to Lukaku who rose over Gibbs at the far post to head the ball into the top corner of the net.

The resulting set piece is taken deep and met by Evans at the far post, but his header sails wide of the goal.
23'
We're just past the halfway point of the first half and there is not a lot happening in terms of goal-mouth action. United are struggling to breakdown this deep-lying West Brom side. The Baggies as a result, are unable to get up the pitch, plus when they do get on the ball they are very static, and there aren't too many options for the man on the ball.
21'
Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are starting to have more of an influence on the game, they are taking on their markers and using their terrific pace to try and create something going forward. Not much happening in terms of chances in this game, the pace really needs to be stepped up.
19'
Due to their lack of possession so far here, the Baggies are resorting to playing long balls over the top for Rondon, McClean and Burke to run onto, but it just isn't working and United are comfortably dealing with it.
17'
STAT: The Red Devils have earned 24 Premier League points out of a possible 27 at Old Trafford this season, but only 14 points out of a possible 24 in away fixtures.
14'
Excellent cross into the box by Young from the left-wing, looking for Lukaku but he was well marked by Kieran Gibbs who had to be careful and produced a good defensive header, to make the United striker didn't have a great chance to score. The ball then bounces around the six-yard box with Lukaku and Foster going up for the ball and the Baggies eventually clear, but the officials award West Brom a free-kick for a foul on Foster.
13'
Still no chances for either team yet, there has been plenty of possession for United but they haven't yet created anything in the final third to worry Ben Foster in the Baggies goal.
12'
Head-to-head: West Brom have lost eight of their 11 Premier League home games against Manchester United, with their only victory coming in March last year. However, Albion have won three of the eight league meetings home and away since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
9'
West Brom with their first attack of the game as James McClean breaks free down the left-wing after a nice backheel by Rondon, he outpaces Antonio Valencia and he looks up to whip a cross in the box, but only Oliver Burke is making a run into the penalty area. The cross isn't the best and misses Burke, so the chance goes missing.
8'
Not the best start to the game by West Brom, they haven't look great at the back and United are already starting to find gaps in behind and are completely dominating the game at the moment, the Baggies are struggling to get out of their own half.
6'
Good build-up play by United. Juan Mata involved heavily, he plays a quick one-two with Ashley Young and the movement is good from the United attackers. Mata gets on the end of the pass and tries to drill a low cross into the box looking for Romelu Lukaku but the Baggies block the cross. They clear the danger but it comes straight back at them.
4'
Good pressure by Salomon Rondon and Oliver Burke forces United to play the ball the way back to David De Gea and he has to strike the ball long to avoid losing the ball. This hands possession back to the Baggies who begin to string a few passes together themselves.
2'
United enjoying the early possession here, keeping the ball well and playing it freely in midfield. The visitors are expected to have more of the ball today, but will they be able to make it count in attack. The Baggies defence played well against Liverpool in midweek and kept a clean sheet which will have been a huge confidence boost.

We're underway!
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Premier League clash between West Brom v Manchester United at the Hawthorns.
Manchester United need to try and close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the table, after their city rivals extended their lead to 14 points yesterday. Furthermore, Chelsea beat Southampton to move into third and level on points with Jose Mourinho’s side.
The Red Devils will be unable to call upon Paul Pogba for their clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns today. The midfielder will sit out the final game of the three-match ban he picked up after being sent off at Arsenal. In the two games Pogba has missed, Jose Mourinho saw his side lose 2-1 to rivals Manchester City and then they only defeated Bournemouth in midweek by a single goal.
Scoring goals has been the issue for West Brom this season, with the Baggies without a goal in their last three games, however, a point away at Anfield in midweek is always a good result. However, after yesterday’s Premier League results, the Baggies now sit 19th in the table and are two points from safety.
West Brom’s home form isn’t doing them any favours this season either, they are currently enduring a seven-match winless run at home in the league, having drawn five and lost two. They haven't won at home since August and are currently on a club record winless streak of 16 games in all competitions.
Romelu Lukaku was back among the goals in that victory on Wednesday, and the United striker will be looking forward to a trip back to his former side today. The Belgian scored a hat-trick the last time he played in this fixture, when the two sides drew 5-5, and no player has ever scored a hat-trick for both clubs in a Premier League fixture.
The team news is in, here is how the two sides will line-up this afternoon...
WEST BROM SUBS: Myhill, McAuley, Brunt, Barry, Field, Robson-Kanu, Rodriguez.
MAN UNITED SUBS: Romero, Lindelof, Rojo, Shaw, McTominay, Martial, Ibrahimovic
MAN UNITED (4-2-3-1): De Gea (GK); Valencia (C), Jones, Smalling, Young; Herrera, Matic; Mata, Lingard, Rashford; Lukaku.
Pardew makes just one change to his Baggies side, with Oliver Burke coming into the starting line-up for his first Premier League start of the season, with Hal Robson-Kanu dropping to the bench. Meanwhile for United, Mourinho makes three changes with Ashley Young, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford coming back into the starting line-up, with Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial on the substitutes bench.
The teams are out here at the Hawthorns and kick-off is just minutes away! Stay tuned for all of the match action.
HALF-TIME: WEST BROM 0-2 MAN UNITED
Manchester United hold a comfortable lead over the Baggies at the Hawthorns, after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard. The visitors have dominated proceedings here, forcing the Baggies to sit deep in their half, which has seen the hosts struggle to create much themselves in attack and they have a lot to do if they are to get anything from this game.
FULL-TIME: WEST BROM 1-2 MAN UNITED
Manchester United clinch a 2-1 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns, despite a late surge from the Baggies who pulled a goal back through Gareth Barry. United were put under a lot of pressure late on and Alan Pardew will be pleased with how his side managed to perform in the second half, they came very close to completing the comeback and scoring an equaliser. However, Mourinho's side managed to hang on for the three points.
That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
