We're underway at Old Trafford.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Matches between the two clubs are normally enticing affairs, but this match has a little extra spice following a war of words between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Both managers have claimed that their spat is behind them, but we'll see whether that's the case this afternoon on the touchline.
United dropped behind Liverpool into third place following the Reds' win over West Ham. Mourinho's men can move back above them in the table with a win this afternoon. The Red Devils come into the game off the back of their goalless draw against Sevilla in the Champions League, but will be looking for a more fluent performance in the final third against the Blues.
The Red Devils have lost two of their last three Premier League games, suffering a defeat at the hands of Newcastle United last time out on league duty. They also lost to Tottenham at the end of January, therefore a victory over a rival is needed just to stabilise their form in the top flight.
Chelsea played well against Barcelona during the week in their Champions League match. Only the brilliance of Lionel Messi prevented them emerging from the contest with a victory. It remains all to play for as Conte's side return their focus to the league.
The Blues responded to a run of back-to-back defeats by crushing West Brom in their last Premier League outing, but their form in the league has been hit and miss since the turn of the year. Six defeats over the course of the season have prevented a successful title defence for Chelsea, but they can still end the season on a high note by securing a top-four spot, starting by defeating United for the second time in the term.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): David de Gea; Antonio Valencia, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young; Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic; Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez.
United subs: Eric Bailly, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Joel Pereira.
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Thibaut Courtois; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger; Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater, Ngolo Kante, Marcos Alonso; Willian, Hazard, Morata.
Chelsea subs: Willy Caballero, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro, Olivier Giroud, Davide Zappacosta, Gary Cahill, Emerson.
United have made two changes from their draw against Sevilla during the week. Pogba is restored to the starting line-up. Whether the Frenchman would have started if Ander Herrera had been fit is anyone's guess, but he has been given the nod today. Mata drops out of the side to be replaced by Martial.
Conte has also made two changes to his side that drew against Barcelona. Drinkwater gets the start ahead of Fabregas in the middle of the park, while Morata returns to spearhead the attack as Pedro drops to the bench.
STAT! Manchester United have won just one of their last 14 matches in all competitions against Chelsea (D5 L8) – winning this exact fixture last season in the Premier League (2-0).
STAT! Manchester United have lost more Premier League games (18) and conceded more Premier League goals (67) against Chelsea than they have against any other side in the competition.
STAT! Chelsea will be looking to do the league double over Man Utd for the fourth time in the Premier League and first time since 2009-10 under Carlo Ancelotti (also 2004-05 under Jose Mourinho and 1993-94 under Glenn Hoddle).
STAT! Antonio Conte has won three of his four meetings in all competitions as Chelsea manager against Jose Mourinho (W3 L1) - twice in the Premier League and once in the FA Cup.
FLASHBACK! Morata scored the only goal of the game between the two sides in their meeting at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard found the net in the second half, converting Azpilicueta's cross into the box to hand Chelsea the three points.
Spurs have beaten Crystal Palace this afternoon, which has knocked Chelsea out of the top four into fifth place. There's pressure on Conte's men to respond, while United will also be feeling the strain.
Mourinho and Conte share a respectful pre-match handshake. No drama there then.
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 CHELSEA
It's all square at the break at Old Trafford as Romelu Lukaku cancelled out Willian's opener. Chelsea have been the better side in the first half, but Manchester United displayed character despite being far from their best. The Blues have controlled possession and took a deserved lead on the counter as Willian blasted his effort through David de Gea. The home side put together a fine attacking move to cut open Antonio Conte's men, with Lukaku providing the finish. There's plenty more to come from this match.
STAT! Chelsea have won their last 22 PL games when they've scored first.
STAT! Romelu Lukaku has scored his first Premier League goal of 2017-18 against a side currently in the top eight of the division.
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 CHELSEA
Manchester United return to second place in the Premier League with a comeback victory over Chelsea this afternoon. Willian put the Blues ahead in the first half, only for Romelu Lukaku to equalise before the break. The Belgian played a vital in securing the three points for United as he supplied a perfect cross for Jesse Lingard to head home the winner. It was far from a perfect performance from Jose Mourinho's men, but it was enough to secure the win. Chelsea will be furious with themselves, leaving a game that they dominated in periods with nothing.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye
