We're underway in the Serie A season.
Chievo finished 13th in the table last season, highlighting how solid the club were in their campaign. They've made a few savvy additions over the summer, with Nenad Tomovic, Federico Barba, Emanuele Giaccherini and Mariusz Stepinski joining the club to boost their squad.
Cristiano Ronaldo will make his first competitive appearance for Juventus this afternoon following his move in the summer from Real Madrid. The Portuguese has been an overwhelming success in every team that he has played for in his career and will be eyeing a strong start to his career for I Bianconeri.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Serie A opening-day clash between Chievo and Juventus at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

So, as expected, Ronaldo debuts for Juventus! Fellow new boy Cancelo is also in the side, while Bonucci returns.
It's all square the break between Chievo and Juventus in the opening match of the Serie A season. The reigning champions took the lead in the third minute when Sami Khedira converted from close range. The visitors had opportunities to extend their advantage, although none really fell the way of Cristiano Ronaldo. Douglas Costa and Juan Cuadrado both missed chances, which allowed Mariusz Stepinski to equalise for Chievo.
Massimiliano Allegri will be disappointed by his side's play in the final third. They've not been clinical enough after boasting 80% possession. In the other dugout Lorenzo D'Anna will be more than satisfied that his team have been able to battle their way back into the contest. Expect more from Juve and Ronaldo in the second half.
Juventus faced a battle for the Serie A crown last season, narrowly edging out Napoli down the stretch. Massimiliano Allegri's men have won the crown for the last seven seasons, with Ronaldo in place and Leonardo Bonucci back in the fold following his return from AC Milan, I Bianconeri should be overwhelming favourites to lift the title once again at the end of the term.
Juventus are underway in their campaign with a dramatic victory on the road against Chievo. They were forced to do it the hard way after falling 2-1 behind early in the second half. Sami Khedira had put the visitors in front in the third minute, but goals from Mariusz Stepinski and Emanuele Giaccherini put Chievo in front. Massimiliano Allegri's men battled hard and drew level when Mattia Bani put the ball into his own net from a corner under pressure from Leonardo Bonucci. Mario Mandzukic saw a goal chalked off for a foul by Cristiano Ronaldo late on, but Juve were not to be denied when Fernando Bernardeschi slotted him in stoppage time to secure the three points.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
