F. Bernardeschi has scored a goal for Juventus! Assist by M. Pjanić.
Miralem Pjanic gets his name on the score sheet via an assist – his pass to Bernardeschi the crucial delivery.
BERNADESCHI DOUBLES THE ADVANTAGE! Ronaldo wins the ball in his own penalty area and brings it to the opposite end of the pitch before laying it off for Pjanic. The central midfielder looks up and finds Bernardeschi in space who takes his chance with a curling effort that beats Sportiello!

Frosinone have a free-kick, but Ciano chooses to strike it on goal as opposed to crossing it into the area. The shot flies high over the bar; a wasted opportunity.
81'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Juventus!
CRISTIANO RONALDO BREAKS CANARINI HEARTS! With less than 10 minutes left Juventus have finally scored, though rather fortunately after Pjanic’s shot is blocked by a defender and the ricochet falls right to the Portugal captain who slots it past Sportiello calmly! There is some argument that Ronaldo was in an offside position, but the linesman’s flag stays down, and the referee chooses not to use VAR. 1-0 Juventus!
79'
M. Sportiello gets yellow.
Pjanic curls in the cross but once again there is a defender in the way who puts his body on the line. Frosinone are practically camped inside their own 18-yard box as they survive wave after wave of attack.
Marco Sportiello is shown a yellow card for time wasting.
77'
Crisetig trips up Ronaldo and gives Juve yet another chance to score from a free-kick in a great crossing position.
Minute
Description
75'
Juventus are thoroughly dominating possession but have little to show for it. Bernardeschi fires in a cross but Salamon – who has been monumental all match – is there to put in yet another clearance.
73'
A rare foray forward for Frosinone ends as Zampano’s cross ends up safely in the arms of Szczesny in the Juventus goal.
71'
C. Ciano enters the game and replaces J. Campbell.
Camillo Ciano replaces Joel Campbell who was not able to mark his Serie A debut with a goal.
70'
Cancelo makes his impact felt immediately with an outside-the-boot cross to Mandzukic who heads his chance over the bar!
69'
João Cancelo enters the game and replaces J. Cuadrado.
Juan Cuadrado is removed with just over 20 minutes left in the match, with natural right-back Joao Cancelo on to take his spot.
66'
Frosinone are defending for their lives as Juventus attackers queue up in the penalty area to have a strike. It's attack versus defence, as it has been all match, but the home team so far have what they were looking for. It would be a historic point if the Canarini can hold on for just a little bit longer.
64'
SAVE BY SPORTIELLO! Ronaldo gets into the six-yard box and attempts to back-heel a pass from Sandro towards goal, and finally connects on his second effort, but the goalkeeper leaps into action to smother the ball.
62'
C. Molinaro gets yellow.
Captain Cristian Molinaro is cautioned after a heavy tackle on Paulo Dybala.
61'
It’s Dybala himself who strikes it with his left foot, but for the second time today the wall does its job and blocks the free-kick. We’re more than an hour into the match and the high-powered Juventus attack have yet to find the back of the net.
60'
Dybala wins a free-kick in a central position after a foul from Chibsah. Can Pjanic finally break the deadlock?
58'
Ronaldo balloons it over the bar from just outside the six-yard box! Chiellini gets free on the wing and curls a fantastic cross to the back post for Bernardeschi who nods it down for the Portugal captain who catches it while leaning back and fails to trouble Sportiello.
56'
F. Bernardeschi enters the game and replaces R. Bentancur.
Federico Bernardeschi is thrown on by Allegri who is looking to break down the Frosinone defence with the introduction of another attacking player. Rodrigo Bentancur is chosen to make way.
54'
Cuadrado puts an out-swinging cross into the area but Sportiello steps up and catches it ahead of Mandzukic who is lurking around the penalty area. It seems only a matter of time before Juventus score, although Frosinone are deserving of high praise for their resilience.
52'
Frosinone win a free-kick under curious circumstances as it looks as though Capuano impedes Dybala, but the referee chooses to favour the defender, giving Sportiello a chance to clear his lines from a set-piece.
50'
Salamon comes across to close down Sandro after Dybala plays him through, but the referee’s whistle goes for an offside on the Juve full-back, and Frosinone escape once again.
48'
L. Crisetig enters the game and replaces R. Maiello.
Maiello was very involved in the first half from his position in central midfield, but he is forced off with an injury. Lorenzo Crisetig is on to replace him.
47'
Bentancur attempts a left-foot shot from outside the penalty area after Dybala is dispossessed on the edge of the box, but he sends his effort wide of Sportiello’s goal. How much longer can the home side possibly hold on?
46'
Juventus start the second half from the kick-off!
45'
HALF-TIME: FROSINONE 0-0 JUVENTUS.
43'
Frosinone have a corner but it’s Ronaldo who does his defensive duty and meets the cross at the near post with a clearing header.
41'
Molinaro picks Perica out with a cross but the striker is in between Chiellini and Rugani and can only nod his chance back, and out for a goal-kick.
39'
Cuadrado decides to hit a shot towards goal, hoping it will spark his side into life but the distance effort flies over Sportiello’s goal. Only six minutes until half-time and it’s still 0-0!
37'
Juventus are enjoying yet another spell of possession, recycling it from right-to-left looking for space to really hurt Frosinone and open the scoring. So far, however, they have nothing for their endeavour.
33'
Frosinone have made it more than a half an hour into the match without conceding, which is a massive achievement considering the situations of the two sides. Longo should be extremely pleased with his side despite their lack of chances in front of goal.
31'
SO CLOSE FOR JUVENTUS! Mandzukic knocks Pjanic’s free-kick down towards the centre of the penalty area for Rugani who tries an acrobatic overhead kick from inside the six-yard box which he sends just over the bar.
30'
The referee calls a handball on Molinaro and awards Juventus a free-kick in a position to cross from the right-hand side, which Pjanic stands over.
29'
S. Perica gets yellow.
Stipe Perica was on the end of an earlier challenge which drew a yellow card, and now he gets one for himself after putting his boot high in the air and making contact with Chiellini.
Maiello sends his delivery to the far post where Perica wins his individual battle over Sandro, but Chiellini is there for the knock-down chance and boots it away.
28'
The first yellow card of the match goes the way of Rodrigo Bentancur who is deservedly shown the booking after a tackle from behind on Perica which gives Frosinone a free-kick in a position to cross it on the left.
27'
R. Bentancur gets yellow.
Yellow card Rodrigo Bentancur Colmán
It’s Ronaldo who strikes it himself but the wall is in the correct place and the defenders do their job, repelling the venomous hit and smothering any potential rebound.
26'
Ronaldo wins a free-kick just in front of the penalty area in a perfectly central position after the forward is taken down by Chibsah. Can Juve make this opportunity count?
24'
Terrible defending by Sandro who does not deal with a Molinaro cross and instead chooses to chest it behind for a Frosinone corner-kick.
22'
Play is stopped as Mandzukic is down and in need of treatment after a tackle by Maiello illegally dispossessed the striker. He looks to be limping, but he should be okay to continue.
20'
SAVE BY SPORTIELLO! Ronaldo has time to settle the shot before sniping an effort towards the near post, but the goalkeeper isn’t fooled and gets down to parry the shot.
19'
Sandro hangs a ball for Ronaldo at the back post, but Molinaro puts a nervy head on the ball and sends it over for another corner, which misses everybody on its way out of the box and across the line for a Frosinone throw-in.
17'
Cuadrado delivers a wonderful ball from the right for Ronaldo at the back post, but Goldaniga’s leaping header puts it behind for a corner-kick. That’s wonderful defending by the home side who have been very organised so far.
16'
Ronaldo attempts to dazzle with his trademark stepovers, but Zampano is having none of it and wins possession on the left.
14'
Hallfredsson buys his side a corner-kick after booting the ball off of Cuadrado. Maiello’s corner is put right on the line of the six-yard box where Szczesny catches with a leap.
12'
Maiello tries his luck with a shot from quite some distance, and it expectedly balloons over the bar. Perhaps poor execution, but it was a decent decision from the midfielder who did have room for the shot – something that will come at a premium in this match.
10'
Allegri is experimenting tactically a bit tonight, employing Cuadrado as a right-back in a four-man defence. His natural attacking instincts will cause all kinds of problems for Molinaro and Capuano.
8'
GOAL-LINE CLEARANCE FOR FROSINONE! Cuadrado sends a cross into the box which Mandzukic heads down instinctively for Ronaldo. The Portugal captain gets a shot away which slips under the goalkeeper’s hand and towards goal – if not for a wonderful interception by Capuano!
7'
Ronaldo is not pleased after going down under a challenge from Goldaniga which the referee refuses to acknowledge and tells the forward to get back to his feet.
5'
Molinaro takes a free-kick into the penalty area but the delivery is flat and Bentancur can clear, though his shot hits the back of the referee and keeps the ball in the danger zone, though Chiellini comes across to clean up.
3'
Maiello sends a pass forward from midfield looking for Campbell, but the striker halts his run on the edge of the penalty area and Szczesny can come collect.
1'
Frosinone get the match underway from the kick-off!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE Serie A commentary of the fixture at the Stadio Benito Stirpe between Frosinone and Juventus!
The harsh realities of Italy’s top division have made themselves quite apparent to Frosinone who have managed a solitary point in their opening four fixtures. It’s been tough sledding in front of goal for the Canarini, who have failed to net once so far in their second-ever Serie A campaign.
Manager Moreno Longo successfully guided the hosts to promotion via the playoffs last season, overcoming Palermo across a two-legged final. His stock with the fans should be high, but with a tough upcoming fixture list that features trips to Rome and Torino – points and patience could come at a premium.
Wins haven’t come in spectacular fashion for the Bianconeri, despite their impressive record to date. Their sole domestic victory by more than a single goal came on match week two, with a 2-0 victory over Lazio. Aside from that, it’s been a solitary strike that has lifted Juve over Chievo, Parma and Sassuolo.
Four matches, four wins is what we’ve come to expect from this almost all-conquering Juventus side. A midweek victory over Valencia in the Champions League – despite Ronaldo’s red card – should leave Allegri’s side in good spirits before their clash against Frosinone.
Frosinone Starting XI (5-3-2): Marco Sportiello; Cristian Molinaro, Marco Capuano, Bartosz Salamon, Edoardo Goldaniga, Francesco Zampano; Emil Hallfredsson, Raffaele Maiello, Raman Chibsah; Stipe Perica, Joel Campbell.
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, the team news has been announced! Let's begin with the home side.
Juventus Starting XI (4-3-3): Wojciech Szczesny; Juan Cuadrado, Daniele Rugani, Giorgio Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Emre Can, Miralem Pjanic, Rodrigo Bentancur; Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Frosinone Substitutes: Andrea Pinamonti, Nicolo Brighenti, Lorenzo Crisetig, Francesco Bardi, Daniel Ciofani, Lorenzo Ariaudo, Camillo Ciano, Danilo Soddimo, Francesco Cassata, Luka Krajnc, Andrea Beghetto, Paolo Ghiglione.
Longo makes four changes from the side that were hammered 5-0 by Sampdoria last weekend. In defence, Capuano and Goldaniga replace Krajnc and Brighenti, while Hallfredsson plays just in front of them in midfield instead of Soddimo. In attack, Campbell is trusted to pair Perica in his first Serie A start, instead of Ciano.
Allegri makes five alterations to the XI that emerged victorious 2-1 over Sassuolo. Cuadrado, Rugani and Chiellini come in for Cancelo, Bonucci and Benatia in defence while Bentancur and Pjanic replace Matuidi and Khedira in midfield.
Juventus have been attacking at every opportunity, with Cuadrado’s full-back position facilitating even more forward play down the flanks. Ronaldo has had a number of opportunities to break the deadlock, but it has yet to come for a Juventus attack that have been creative, but not clinical.
The first half certainly didn’t go as predicted, with the two sides entering the half-time interval level at 0-0. Frosinone have been heroic in defence, with a goal-line clearance and a number of other last-ditch tackles maintaining the clean sheet. They have been organised and resolute, holding their shape and allowing possession, but not many clear opportunities.
That concludes our coverage of the Serie A fixture between Frosinone and Juventus. We hope you enjoyed our commentary!
Frosinone will continue their search for a first win of the season on Wednesday when they travel to the Olimpico to face Roma. Juventus will look to make it six wins from six midweek when they host Bologna.
Moreno Longo should be absolutely thrilled with his side’s endeavour despite essentially chasing the ball for 90 minutes. They remained extremely organised and rigid, forcing Juventus to play around them. If they are to get their first win of the season, they must gain more of an attacking threat, but Frosinone acquitted themselves wonderfully today and should gain a lot of confidence from the performance.
It took Juventus a full 80 minutes of play, but they finally broke the deadlock thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo finish after a lucky ricochet following a Pjanic shot. The visitors did everything they could up to that point to ruin Sportiello’s clean sheet, but the hosts defended heroically and deserve a ton of credit – despite their loss. Bernardeschi added a second in injury time, but it was the result of tired legs and tired minds more than a lapse in defending.
