Sightly better from Celtic, as some encouraging play from Ntcham wins the corner. One goal would make a huge difference here.

That didn't take long! After just a few minutes on the pitch, Ilsanker picks up a yellow.

Celtic fans have struck back, making themselves heard in the Red Bull Arena hoping for a response from their beloved players, unfortunately they are being outclassed on the pitch, struggling to get a foot on the ball over the last five minutes!
57'
Celtic seem to be fading as time drifts on, with less positive phases of play in their favour and an increasing domination for Leipzig in terms of possession. The home fans are loving it, as one of their flares covers the pitch with a faint smoke and they cheer their side on with delight.

45'
Just one minute to play plus stoppage time.
HALF TIME: RB LEIPZIG 2-0 CELTIC.
44'
You could argue the case that Celtic are missing Scott Brown here, despite looking good on the ball they are lacking an authoritative figure in the central area.
42'
Leipzig have shown great energy throughout the first half, whereas Celtic seem to have ran out of steam. The pressing of the home side has arguably being their most positive aspect.
41'
Celtic survive the danger this time! Kampl's shot is blocked in the area before Gordon pulls off a save, can they hold on at 2 down until the break?
40'
Despite a positive start, Celtic have undone all their good work with two displays of poor defending and a lack of instinct at the back. Leipzig now look comfortable and are pushing on for a third.
35'
Bruma has scored a goal for RB Leipzig!
They've got another one, 2-0!! Celtic are falling apart here as Saracchi breaks down the left once again and looks for the cross, Celtic fail to clear the ball and cause themselves problems before Bruma runs onto it to provide the finish, stroking it into the back of the net confidently from inside the penalty area!

Leipzig have boosted in confidence now, the crowd are on side and the home team are pressing high looking to rattle Celtic and perhaps grab a second before half time.
31'
Matheus Cunha has scored a goal for RB Leipzig! Assist by M. Sabitzer.
Good ball in by Sabitzer, but he'll know just as well as Celtic's defence that it should have been cleared not once, but twice before finding it's way to Cunha! Poor defending.
GOAAAAALLLL! Cunha scores to make it 1-0! The cross in is missed by Celtic's defence and it's on a plate for the striker, who has time to chest it down and lash the ball past Gordon with his right foot, into the bottom right corner.
30'
Celtic manage to regain possession for an extended period before Tierney gives it away, the away side have slowed down a little over the last few minutes!

Offside out on the left as Saracchi is deemed to have strayed too far, Celtic will be increasingly concerned about the threat out on that wing though as Kampl continues to drift out there too.
26'
Saracchi and Kampl combine effectively out on the left wing before the ball ends up with Cunha, who blasts over the bar unconvincingly. Not the best of starts from Leipzig's striker!
21'
Celtic are edging things after just over 20 minutes. Are RB Leipzig looking to tweak things? A note was passed onto Kampl before he barked out some instructions to his teammates.
20'
After a second viewing, it's a clear dive from Cunha and he's lucky not to be booked!

Penalty shout for Leipzig as Cunha drifted past Gamboa, the Leipzig striker dropped to the deck but the referee didn't agree with the penalty claims from the home fans.

The teams are in the tunnel, preparing to step onto the pitch. Kick off is just moments away and we'll keep you updated on all the action right here!
Leipzig will be delighted with the scoreline heading into the changing rooms for the break. Overall the balance of play has been quite even, but Celtic have been their own worst enemy and heavily assisted in their downfall, with some calamitous defending.
Celtic have an uphill task on their hands to say the least heading into the second half. It seems more than likely that Leipzig will kick on and grab another goal or two, but you never know in football and the away team will be fighting to find a way back into the game after seriously letting themselves down. On a positive note, major credit to Saracchi who has been a standout player for Leipzig, causing havoc down the left wing.
Excellent performance from Leipzig as they rode the early wave from Celtic and patiently awaited their opportunity to strike. Eventually the away side slipped, just after 30 minutes and ever since then the game has only looked to be heading in one direction! It would have been interesting to see Celtic at full strength, they let themselves down defensively in the first half especially and seemed to run out of steam early. Cunha and Bruma grabbed the all important goals to lead their side to a vital victory, with strong performances from Kampl and Saracchi in particular.
The sides will meet again in a few weeks time, both will have crucial league and cup games in the build up, hopefully we’ll get to see them both at full strength in the next encounter! Leipzig have the advantage in terms of qualification for now, as they are second in the Group B table below franchise-compatriots Salzburg, with Celtic in third and Rosenborg bottom without any points.
Celtic will need to pick themselves up and dust off ahead of a vital match this weekend against Hearts, a cup semi-final! Leipzig will face Schalke at home on Sunday afternoon and will be heading into that one full of confidence!
That's all from us tonight, thanks for reading and catch you next time!
